Whamorrow
No love or comments for Landozer?
I think as long as emphasis is on the "Wham", this is a brilliant name since "Wham" is associated with a hard hit and the "morrow" part can have very little emphasis on the "mo", whereas if it were "mu", it would be a bit harder to pronounce. I think this is a pretty good name.
Wharbiddon
A couple of plays on words here.
First off, reading it as one full word, it sounds a lot like "Forbidden", which is exactly what secondary moves will be when this guy comes on the field. It is also full of scars and is very warlike in its appearance, thus the prefix "Whar". The "Wha" is of course from Narwhal. "Wharbid" is also a play on "morbid", and "don" has the added effect of making it sound big and imposing.
Does it sounds better with one 'd' or two? "Wharbidon" vs. "Wharbiddon"
Landozer.
Subtle reference to GameFreak's Drill Dozer games. It rolls off the tongue nicely, it isn't complicated, there are no unnecessary silent letters or things used to pad it out, it is a nice portmanteau of Land and Dozer, and works even if you don't know about Drill Dozer (which, incidentally, was an excellent game, and well worth a play).
I like Landozer.
Gnarwhirl's cool too, but the whispered 'h' brings to mind soft ice cream whenever I say it. This Pokemon would need something a little more brutal-looking like 'Gnarwurl' or something.
Scarwhal and Collosoil are also pretty neat.
This thread tends to get way more submissions than even the art threads, so it's tough to nab a comment for everybody.
Of those two spellings, definitely go with two Ds. The first one looks like it should be pronounced WHAR-bid-on, while the second looks like whar-BID-don, which I think is what you want.
Anybody have any feedback on either of mine, Umbrale or Morainger? I tend to favor the second one, for the reasons in my earlier post, but I'm open to thoughts before I pick a final.
Undermine
It's a drill Pokemon, so it's associated with mining and drilling into the ground. It also prevents secondary moves from being used, so it undermines them. The name also fits its dark characteristics.
As for your submissions, I think Umbrale is definitely the simpler of the two, but it sounds too much like Umbreon. Morainger is a cool concept, but I think most people will not catch the reference to "moraine". Also, the word 'rain' in the name is misleading, as this has nothing to do with water.
