Once again, my vote goes to MF. I still think that it's artwork could become any shape, thus fitting any stat distribution. The others are a bit too much Ground and too little Dark IMO.

That's very perceptive of you. I believe if more people would look at my supporting animations or read my support text, they would be able to see that my CAP9 pokemon can change his bodies construction because he is made primarily of sand. Meaning he can become heavier and denser by absorbing more sand into his body (HP,DEF,SP.DEF). Not only that but the same applies to releasing sand from his body making him lighter(SPEED). As in my earthquake animation it can condense, sharpen, or solidfy the sand in order to inflict more damage(ATK). This does not mean it is ethereal or spiritual in any shape or form, simply that it is a creature constructed primarily of sand/soil/dust. Sand, which are particles, can be shaped and molded.

Voted for DougJustDoug. My reason for voting for Doug is probably because Buffaloes are strong willed (at least I think so) animals who often come back for more which fits its Guts ability and CAP9's concept perfectly.

Great to see that the the last three contenders were my favorites from the beginning. CAP 9 has obviously been loaded with great art, but these three are on a level of their own imo, and I can honestly say for once that I'd be happy to see any of the remaining designs win. That said, I voted for Doug's.

Why Doug's? Well, whatever some say about flavor not being important CAP, to me it is just as important as the competitive side of the project, and while I generally keep my complaints to myself, I hate how each CAP seems to shift the focus closer to the competitive aspects at the expense of flavor (Ice Punch Kitsunoh? Seriously?). Doug's design fits the stat spread perfectly and requires no justification for either ability.

While I think all the designs are pretty bangin, I voted for CyzirVisheen for a few reasons. First of all, the stat distribution fits the artwork perfectly, same for abilities (though "Auto Magic Coat" will be renamed, most likely). The Narwhal also definitely looks the part of being Ground/Dark.

Lastly whales are really awesome.

Though I originally voted for aragornbird's dust devil, I think that DougJustDoug's is the best one left. Buffalo are bulky, have guts, and pursue things (yes, slight poll jumping). The only thing that might be difficult to flavor is Auto-Magic Coat, but we can think of something.

All of the art is awesome guys, I just think that this one fits the CAP better.

I voted for CyzirVisheen. The thing looks bad ass and it knows it, with its battle wounds, bare teeth, cool-looking horn etc. Looks like a pretty 'evil' kinda guy and hes in the ground so he it fits the dark/ground typing. The gritty appearance really rounds things off to me, giving it a rugged and bulky appearance which really applies to the stat distribution well.

DougJustDoug's sprite is well done but it kinda looks too unfurled and not-bad ass too be a dark pokemon.

As for Mysteriousfellow - I don't really get his. It looks like shit covered in wood chips erupting out of a hole in the ground. Note: I don't mean that the picture looks like shit in that sense; this isn't an attack or anything. It just literally looks like a large pile of crap.

doug's is the perfect mixture of cuteness and badassedness, and because of this it gets my vote. (even though the horns kinda look like they're just floating there.)

Cyzir is a great artist, no doubt, but I'm just not really on board with the narwhal design, and Doug's submission is just a little too cute for me. The moment I saw the final design and supporting material for Mysteriousfellow's design, I was hooked. The thing looks insanely evil, it fits the stat spread well, but what really makes me fully support his design was that it is fairly uncharted territory for an art submission. By this, I mean that it is vastly different from most of the other designs - and that's what makes me love it so much. The underdog here definitely deserves a chance to win, and I feel that the dust demon is the best submission here.

It seems like Doug will never be able to win a CAP art contest... sad.

All three designs left are amazing, and they all fit the stat spreads & abilities so I'll be happy regardless whoever wins.
With that said, I voted for DougJustDoug's design because it has a rich back story, and I love Pokemon with back stories.

Mysterious Fellow has a great design, and his animations make a great design fantastic!

Cyzir's Narwhal is the most well drawn IMO, and is also the closest to the Sugimori style IMO, it might not have any supporting materiel, but Narwhal doesn't need it! Just looking at him, and I can tell that this ground porpoise is evil, scarred, ground type, and won't take any crap from secondary effect users!

Good luck to all three artists!

I voted for CyzirVisheen's Narwhal, because, well, it's a FUCKING LAND WHALE. Need I say more? Yes.

It also fits the stat distribution, and I can see it rapid spinning by running its' spinning horn into the entry hazards. The first time I saw this design, I knew it was going to be one of the best, and I was right.

However, the other two entries are just as good. Mysteriousfellow captured the typing wonderfully, made it incredibly erie, and had amazing supporting material. (lol @ taunt)

DougJustDoug's entry fits the stat spread very well also, and the entire design of it all is breathtaking. When I first saw his concept, I couldn't wait for the finalized version!

The only thing that makes me sad is that Buffalo Wings did not make it :(

Great job to all the artists though!

Alright dude, no need to criticize like this, they were all good submissions. I voted for CyzirVisheen again, because the appearance of a ground narwhal is just mind-boggling. Honestly, the concept of a Pokemon has advanced so much. This was a very creative submission. All of these were awesome, I liked the moves that Mysteriousfellows submission used. This makes my second place. I didn't really like DougJustDoug's from the beginning, but it is still a really good concept of a dark ground pokemon, seriously, a badass looking buffalo, that is awesome. I really liked these. ;]

The only thing that might be difficult to flavor is Auto-Magic Coat, but we can think of something.

Though I voted for Cyzir's design, my thought on AMC for Doug's buffalo is that it could have something to do with it's being tribal. Perhaps some sort of tribal magic infused into its mask-like markings on its face or even the pattern on its back.

Either that, or it's Nose-Ring could have mystic powers.

why does there seem to be such rush? felt a split for the top 6 would have been better than narrowing down to 3 so quickly. especially since the polls are open for like 2 short days =\

CyzirVasheen, back to back cap wins? i think sooo...

Hmmmmmmmmm...........

After much self-deliberation, and realizing that my earlier "Rapid Spin vs art" argument didn't take into account that AMC can do similar if it's switched in on entry hazards anyway, I've broken down & voted on the candidate that fits the bill the best between the three - CyzirVisheen's mutant drilling narwhal thing. It definitely fits the stats - esp. the HP & Atk, and I do admit it's awesome.......albeit really bizarre :P

Mysteriousfellow's is waaaaaaaay too Ghost-type-looking (one COULD say similar about aragornbird's, but that still had more of a Dark-ish quality), and DougJustDoug's seems a little less Ground-ish. (Don't you guys start thinking that I'm putting down that design, because I DO like it).

I just realized something - if Cyzir's wins (most likely), maybe in the Pokedex entry we can give it some rivalry with Garchomp. Y'know, land shark vs. land whale. :P

I voted for CyzirVisheen. Honestly, Doug's doesn't even look ground/dark. Nor could you bullshit come kind of AMC for it. And Mysterious' Poke DOES look Ground/Ghost. Plus the design is way too simple and boring. It doesn't look like a Pokemon, plus Guts and the stat spread aren't applicable. I'm an artist myself, so I have great respect for all the applicants. Keep it up guys.

Cyzir, marry me.

EDIT: Also, i'm drunk, so I need to add this. I've noticed that having certain polls, exe. the stat poll and the ability poll during the art submission thread tends to affect the winner of the art poll greatly. Honestly, it seems kind of obvious that the art poll should come after the technical Pokemon stuff polls, just so if an art submission coincidentally has something in common with the stat spread it doesn't have an advantage over the other submissions.

P.S.S. I have 8 posts. Lawl.

I know I didn't vote for Mysteriousfellow's design, but I don't understand the "it doesn't look Dark/Ground" and "it looks like a Ghost" arguments. A pokemon can only have two types. The fact that it's made of/lives in sand establishes the Ground type and the fact that it looks like it wants to rip your head off and eat it establishes the Dark type. Saying that "it looks too Ghost-like" is like saying "Flygon looks too Flying-like to be Ground/Dragon" or "Charizard looks too Dragon-like to be Fire/Flying". All that this design's non-solid appearance means is that it should get a few Ghost-type flavor moves if it wins.

But friendo, the fact that it doesn't look exactly Dark/ground sure helps people decide between the 3, eh?

I voted for Cyzir's Narwhal picture. The whale seems like a blubbery, (thus the hp), a drill on its head(represents its attack stat) and a real evil look on its face. Looks like a Dark-ground type too me. DougJustDoug's picture looks friendly and cute for a dark type, and MysteriousFellow's looks too much like a ghost type, and not much as a ground type. It also seems like a weird pokemon to have guts on

I voted for CyzirVisheen. But I don't agree with this whole ghost/ground thing for mysteriosfellow's design. Darkrai looks to me more like a ghost type, but it still dark.
