What is your accent like? Is it the typical Kiwi accent meaning that you can't say "fish and chips," is it a Chinese accent, a mix of both, or something different?

Also, do you like sheep?

I'm curious because I was born in NZ :)

Do you remember when
image.php
was your avatar?

yeah i remember having it for all of three days

Did you predict your well would be more substantive the The_Iron_Kenyan's

No. And quite frankly it's probably not going to turn out that way. I tried to have a more substantive OP but instead I still get questions like 'chocolate or vanilla', which necessitate nothing more than one word answers. I bear some of the blame for this since most of my normal posts don't consist of much, so you guys have come with the expectation that you can just throw out random stuff and I can just come up with an appropriate response gif or a witty one liner. But still, you guys could stand to try harder with the questions. Lee has commented that you could throw Socrates himself into the bottom of this well and you still would get underwhelming answers with these questions, and I would agree absolutely. It's most likely too late to save this well, but I pray for all that is good and pure that Jabba's well consists of more than 'How often do you get drunk?' and 'What's your view on the UU banning of Espeon?' I don't know, the ball's in your court guys.

Are you a Chinese plant?

If you were, what kind of plant would you be?

I would be Salix Matsudana, a Chinese willow. Their graceful form feature prominently in classical Chinese paintings and poetry, and I consider them a great example of the beauty through simplicity that is inherent in all of nature. Additionally, willows are known for their deceptive resilience, which is a quality I very much aspire to.

I saw your Captain American Gen. Empoleon earlier. Would it be possible to make a Captain America Braviary?

You are aware I have an art thread where people make requests right?

Speaking of Gen. Empoleon it has recently come to our attention he is a hipster. What cure do you recommend?

Hipsters are a bit of a paradox as they seek to express their individuality but in doing so conform to a hipster standard, since after all, they are still judged by their peers, which is where arises the quandary as to whether being a hipster is truly synonymous with individualism and whether the concept of individuality truly exists. Try as you might, you cannot escape the fact that you are constantly judged and molded by the opinions of your peers, and you will always be pigeonholed into an archetype of modern society, which is where Gen. Empoleon finds himself with the label of 'hipster'. I would recommend that Gen. Empoleon just carry on with his life as usual and place as little thought as possible on the frivolous opinion of others, but then by giving him a recommendation, am I in fact infringing on his individualism, am I not enforcing my personal opinion on him, making my recommendation a hypocritical statement. I think it is at this point that control leaves the hands of the opinion giver and transfers into the opinion receiver, whether Gen. Empoleon decides to accept this label of 'hipster' is entirely up to him, and whether he chooses to do something, if anything, about it is also up to him.

if you were forced to fuck one of waluigi/wario who would it be

In response to Eo Ut Mortus's earlier question on my religious views, the truth is I'm very ambivalent about the whole thing, and I'll tell you why. My mother is a person who considers herself a Christian while my father is decidedly Atheist or at least Agnostic, he may say outwardly that he is too a Christian but you can tell that it's to humor my mother. They're not people who would force their religious viewpoints on me, and my mother has told me herself that she trusts me to make the right decision with regards to my own spirituality, which I'm thankful for.

how do you like your eggs

So naturally, being in a household like that, one cannot help but be torn between the two viewpoints. On the one hand, religion is a visible force for good in this world. Religion rallies people and unite them regardless of race and status. Churches become focal points of the community and rightly so, a lot of good comes from religious teachings, as the overall message is one of peace and harmony towards your fellow man.

favourite punctuation mark

On the other hand, religion also divides, as easily as it unites. Despite the fact that every major religion essentially shares the same overarching message, people still use it as justification to go to war with one another. Then there's the inherent hypocrisy in widely publicised cases such as the paedophilic priests, if the people who are supposed to set an example are corrupt, what hope can the rest of the community have. You may say that a couple of bad eggs are not representative of the rest of the community, but all I know is that the power that religion grants, and the resulting corruption and abuse that occurs has made me very blase about the whole thing.

favourite racial slur

So my ideal scenario would be to do good, to partake in the good aspects of religion, without buying into the whole organised religion gimmick. Unfortunately, religion is ingrained into humanity in such a way that's it's impossible to distill the good desirable parts from the irrational rituals and prophecies, and the sickening abuses of power. Overall, religion is decidedly good, but I think it's best to keep a good dose of scepticism around. I'm sorry if what I've written on this topic is pedestrian and uninformative, but I did like the process of putting my words on the screen and getting my thoughts organised. You didn't have to read this, and chances are that once you saw my answer went above three lines you just skipped over it, and that's fine with me. Let's make my next response a jokey one.

what kind of dancing do you enjoy

the one where i get stabbed with an epipen at the end

what's your favourite part of new zealand, and what is your favourite food of it

My favorite part of New Zealand would have to be Wellington, where I'm living now. I prefer the hustle and bustle of a fairly populated city, and unlike Auckland, the largest city in New Zealand, you're not completely paralyzed if you don't have a car. Wellington's culture scene is very vibrant, being the home of the internationally renowned Weta Workshop and the place where many New Zealand bands get their start. The beachfront is to die for as well.

As for food..hmmm...yeah. I'm thinking that your question is asking for food with a distinct New Zealand flavor, in which case I know a great fish and chips shop not far from where I live.

have you seen tatami galaxy, if so, did you enjoy it

No, and I don't plan to.

If you were to use Octillery on a team, what moveset would you use? (Moody doesnt count)

I'd go with the standard 4th Gen Baton Pass receiver set, on a Baton Pass team obviously, maybe it could make a nice Plan B if Espeon gets knocked out...

What do you think is the biggest problem in the world currently, and how would you fix it?

People borrowing and living beyond their means, getting into debt, a culture which extends to the banks and the large financial corporations, resulting in the shitstorm that we see in the global economy today.

I believe that all governments need to step up and place stricter regulations in place to control and supervise the big businesses. Big businesses cannot simply be frivolous as they want, playing roulettes with people's savings and livelihoods, and then expect the government to bail them out when it all turns to shit, no questions asked. It's time the government made sure that businesses are responsible with their money, businesses should not dictate the rules here. So yeah, I'm a big fan of government intervention in almost all areas, I wouldn't care if 50% of my earnings went into taxes if it meant that I get free all-inclusive healthcare coverage and my kids receive free tertiary education. I realise what I'm typing here is basically wholesale rhetoric but this is a complicated issue and I'll be damned if I do actual research for a well thread.

what are your feelings on the chch earthquakes?

It's a tragedy. I feel deeply for the people who've lost their homes, jobs, and most importantly, the people they know. Given the widespread destrucion caused to the structures of Christchurch, many of them historic monuments, the face of Christchurch will never be the same again, which is also something that I'm sad about. I just hope that Christchurch will one day return to its former glory, and that the rest of New Zealand take notes for preparation for when the next one hits.

are you a cricket fan?

cricket scores are confusing :pirate:

What is your opinion on Moody's ban(and hence Octillery being screwed of its chance in OU)?

Henry James "Hank" Moody, portrayed by David Duchovny, is a fictional character who serves as the protagonist of the Showtime television series Californication. Moody is an erratic but esteemed writer who frequently becomes embroiled in bizarre and, in some cases, scandalous situations. All of his novels are named after Slayer albums.

However shallow Moody may come across as being, most episodes of Californication reveal at least some degree of depth to his persona, in many cases exposing a surprisingly vulnerable Hank, especially in relation to Karen and their daughter, Becca.

What is your accent like? Is it the typical Kiwi accent meaning that you can't say "fish and chips," is it a Chinese accent, a mix of both, or something different?

My accent is 100% Kiwi, judging by the fact that most of my friends actually thought that I was born in New Zealand before I corrected them. If you hear me on the phone you would not be able to tell I'm Chinese.

and i can so say 'fish and chips' >:(

Also, do you like sheep?

sheep is a cornerstone of new zealand's economy, as well as its rural nightlife

Do you reckon you're a better artist, moderator or pokemon battler?

Are you gonna visit Australia anytime soon?

What are you studying at uni again? (I completely forgot!)

On a scale from nagai's standards to mine (standard 0-10 scale), how fussy are you when it comes to women's looks?

Is there a point or purpose to reality TV shows other than to make money for the studio?

Which social institution do you believe is the most flawed and why?

Is it worth training a lv 12 Drilbur (no Dig until 29) in a Nuzlocke? What about a Blitzle (at all)?

hopefully this hasn't been asked (i check but i might have missed it)

what's your biggest pet peeve?
what do you find to be the most important quality in a person?

I don't know, the ball's in your court guys.

to be honest the first post answered pretty much everything i was going to ask. also watching you ignore the questions completely nearly teared me right up.

do you plan to live on a tiny pacific island for the rest of your life? where do you want to go

i know new zealand is pretty small, do you think there would be enough room on it for jimbo.

I wouldn't care if 50% of my earnings went into taxes if it meant that I get free all-inclusive healthcare coverage and my kids receive free tertiary education. I realise what I'm typing here is basically wholesale rhetoric but this is a complicated issue and I'll be damned if I do actual research for a well thread.

rhetoric? i thought you were describing norway

My accent is 100% Kiwi, judging by the fact that most of my friends actually thought that I was born in New Zealand before I corrected them. If you hear me on the phone you would not be able to tell I'm Chinese.

and i can so say 'fish and chips' >:(

would you mind posting a voice recording of yourself! that would be neat for every well actually

i REFUSE to believe you look like an ampharos hugging a smeargle

REFUSE

Is this a business decision, or is it personal? 'Cause if it's business I'll go away happily. But if it's personal, I'll go away... but I won't be happy.

and lastly, what are your opinions on everyone making highly decorated RMTs

Did you answer any of Rolan's questions?

Also, what happened to TIK's well thread? It was going well (no pun intended) One day it was here, the next, it was gone...
TO THE TWILIGHT ZONE!!! DUH Duh DAAAAA!!!

Is there a specific philosophy or philosophical value that you attempt to live your life by? If so, what is it, and what is it that makes you hold it in such esteem?

Culturally, how much do your Asian heritage and New Zealand environment influence you, and further, what is more important to you and why?

What are your feelings about war (when is it justified etc.?)

When are you going to watch Madoka/draw Mami-San? =P

What gives you a sense of meaning and/or hope in life?

How close/in touch with your Chinese heritage are you?

Having spent more than half your life in NZ, how do you think you have changed/been affected?

And what is your stance on the state of the Chinese Government?

so many questions gonna break them up into separate posts

1.Do you have a role model you look up too or base yourself on?
If so, who and why?

No. And I wonder if that's a bad thing. There's a lot of people whose disparate qualities I'd like to emulate, but I just don't see it on anyone person. It's fine to have goals and such but I never saw the point of role models, nobody's perfect, and I feel that having a role model is too unnecessarily restrictive.

2. I noticed at the Expo you were really interested at the cartoon artists there. Do you ever think about using your artist skills for profit or idk drawing different things irl.

I looked at those artists more in admiration than anything. These are people who get paid to do sketches in the Expo, so they are expected to turn out quality work within a very short timeframe. As I said in the OP, I think that if I started relating drawing with profit any fun that I have with it will cease, so it's going to remain a hobby for the forseeable future.

3. What is it that attracts you to mafia games?

I first got into it as a way to meet more users on Smogon, and on that front I was successful. I like mafia nowadays mostly for all the interpersonal interactions that happen within the mafia framework, there's alliances, a lot of lying, backstabbing, deductions, etc. All things that you may otherwise never experience in real life, but things that could feasibly be applicable all the same.

4. I'm pretty sure you told me that you were interested in teaching (as a job). Any reason you felt drawn to that particular line of work?

I don't think I ever did lol, but yeah I wouldn't mind it. I've had some experience tutoring English and the satisfaction you get from helping people like that is very rewarding, and teaching is quite a respectable line of work. I will say that I would probably never teach or tutor in any online capacity since I'm much less patient when face-to-face interaction isn't involved.

How many licks does it take to get to the tootsie roll center of a tootsie pop?

We don't have tootsie pops here. Maybe you should ask CaptKirby instead.

Jackie Chan or Jet Li?

What kind of a question is this? Bruce Lee obviously.

Favorite athlete?

I don't follow sports nearly often enough to have a favorite athlete.

Are any of the following sports: golf, bowling, car racing?

A great man once said that golf is a good walk ruined, and I tend to agree. As far as I'm concerned golf is just a way for rich white males to build business connections.

Bowling is not a sport because you have to rent the shoes and the bowler's uniform consists of patterned vests, which incidentally applies to the golfers as well.

Cars are a way to get from Point A to Point B. Not a sport.

How many people think that you're actually the girl in your avatar?

too many

Where did you get your sense of humor? I want to buy a new one.

The Simpsons was one of the first English TV programmes that I was exposed to, so a lot of how my sense of humor works I think can be directly attributed to that show. I like to think that I've taken something away from some of my favorite comedians, such as Eddie Izzard, George Carlin, and Stephen Colbert. And similarly for my favorite comedy shows, such as QI, Whose Line, and of course Arrested Development. I read somewhere that a great joke/witty remark/quip/whatever works because the comedian, through the joke, establishes a personal rapport with each member of the audience, making it seem like only they got the joke, thus making it that much more funny. This would obviously drive a person insane if they consciously applied to every joke they try to tell, but it's a good thing to keep in the back of your mind.

Do you ever plan on coming to the U.S? If so where would you go? Have me and macle convinced you that you want to come to Wisconsin?

If I ever came to the U.S. it would be to further my studies, as I don't see myself being able to travel on my own dime any time soon. I'd probably go see either the East or the West Coast, as the Central and Southern don't really interest me too much, except for the fact that I know some Smogonites who live there. As for Wisconsin, I don't really know much about it. Isn't that where That 70s Show was based, and the state's shaped like a rectangle? Or is that Wyoming?

do toilets really flush backwards down there?

The Coriolis Effect only manifests itself in large scale stuff like air currents and ocean currents, the toilet flushing thing is a myth.

What do you draw on?

A Wacom Bamboo tablet, the software I use is Photoshop CS3

Do you reckon you're a better artist, moderator or pokemon battler?

Pretty much in that exact order you listed. I enjoy drawing, so I think I'm a better artist for it. Being a moderator is much less fun, I'm quite intolerant of bullshit and believe you me there's a lot of bullshit out there; sometimes it feels like you're the only dam holding back the torrent of bad posts and bad users, plus most of your work goes unnoticed since the majority of users can't see the jackassery, spam, etc that you've had to clean up. My Pokemon battling skills suck, I'm too lazy to team build and in this metagame it's impossible to cover all threats. You think you've got a nice team but it won't be long before something like Hydration Dragon Dance Lapras comes and fucks you in the ass. Next question.

On a scale from nagai's standards to mine (standard 0-10 scale), how fussy are you when it comes to women's looks?

hahaha burn

before drinks: 8, after drinks: 4

Thoughts on the social relevance of the Olympic Games?

It's very relevant, since it's one of the things that can unite the people in a country and heck, the entire world. And it's always inspirational when you see an athlete or team from a smaller nation punch above their weight, and win the medal despite competition from larger nations with more well-funded sports programmes. But of course there's a negative social impact as well. The amount of money that is put into building stadiums and racetracks that'll essentially never be touched again is absurd, and Greece is a good case in point. You can't help but wonder whether the money spent on training athletes and building stadiums would be better spent on schools and hospitals. It is for this reason that I think in a time of economic hardship such as this, our focus needs to be less on the Olympics and more on helping the disenfranchised. Because there is negative social impact, that makes the Olympic Games socially relevant.

Is there a point or purpose to reality TV shows other than to make money for the studio?

Absolutely no point other than they're cheap to make and get good ratings, resulting in big bucks for the studio and network. I'm pretty sure that a group of people on an island in the Indian Ocean or a house in New Jersey is not representative of the whole population, so any arguments that it's a 'social experiment' is instantly rendered bullshit. Besides, couldn't they get the same experiment results from studying chimps in a zoo?

Which social institution do you believe is the most flawed and why?

Organised religion. I think I've already explained why if you read up.

Is it worth training a lv 12 Drilbur (no Dig until 29) in a Nuzlocke? What about a Blitzle (at all)?

i don't care too much for nuzlockes
nuzlockes can't buy me love

that 70s show was based in wisconsin but its not the shape of a square lol

happy days was also based in wisconsin.... think about how great the fonz is

if you had access to a button that gave you a 99% chance to obtain 200,000 dollars each time you pressed it, with a 1% chance of instant death how many times would you press it?

ugh comparing Wisconsin to Wyoming

Gross

Anyway, you said you're close to the beach? If you are, you're a lucky bastard, and what's your favorite thing to do there?
