Chansey (Uber Analysis)

Ok, after testing this, I found out Snatch Chansey works. Snatch deserves a slash imo, over Toxic or Seismic Toss. With Snatch, Chansey can steal Refreshes and Recovers from Arceus. It allows Chansey to Toxic Dark Arceus and beat it one-on-one, something the standard Chansey cannot do. Snatch also prevents Arceus from recovering. In case you poisoned Recover Arceus with the 1st layer of Toxic Spikes, you can still beat it by snatching all the Recovers or Calm Minds.

If Steel Arceus is burned by say Giratina, Chansey can beat Steel Arceus with Snatch and let Steel Arceus slowly die from burn damage.

Snatch can be used to steal Substitutes from the likes of Shaymin-S and Ho-Oh too. With Snatch, Chansey is capable of beating stall breakers such as DARK Arceus, Refresh Latias and possibly Boosting Tank Kyogre. Snatch Chansey also beats opposing Chansey which is lol because the enemy Chansey cannot recover if you use Snatch to steal all the Wishes and Softboiled.

Ummmmmm... ok? But a slash? Really? Surely it is kinda gimmicky at best? Thoughts? Will will mention, but unsure about slash.

I think it deserves a slash, it isn't gimmicky at all. Jibaku likes it too, since he is using it as well.

Snatch allows Chansey to beat problematic pokemon to stall like Refresh Arceus, that is something important. Maybe put that in AC first until the usefulness is discovered later.

No Snatch Chansey is not a gimick. Myself and Jibaku( I think) have both faced it and it is a monster. It will take down any weakened or Burn/Toxic Arceus, any Special set up sweeper and can devastate a Stall team with entry hazards. Only way to counter it is Taunt. Face it and you will understand how strong it is.

EDIT: Trickroom I knew you would Ninja me but still ok my message just enhances your statement( @TR- last comment befrore I go)

Chansey's superb defenses allow it to be an excellent wall, staller and supporter to any stall team and play a key role on any stall inclined team. With its vast supporting movepool, it can provide a huge mass of HP to team mates with wish pass enormous Wishes, cripple opponents, and stall them out with Toxic, and remove status around from the team with Heal Bell. Chansey can also remove any status dealt towards it by simply switching due to its ability, Natural Cure. This allows it incredible staying power and allows it to take down the ability to out stall opposing walls. Its defenses allow it to switch in easily on almost any special attack and even certain weaker physical attacks, most notably from Choice Scarf Palkia's Outrage and Psycho Shock from Latios. Against enemies it walls, it then may proceed by Poisoning may then proceed to the opposing Pokemon with Toxic while the opponent may try and futilely attack Chansey as it continues to recover off the futile damage dealt while the opposing Pokemon is drained continuously in HP as the opponent is forced to switch, lest he face the slow spiral to death while beating futilely against Chansey's awesome bulk, supported by Softboiled. Note that even with Toxic Spikes support, Toxic is still a great move as it deals with Flying-types and Levitate users such as Giratina-O and Lugia Lugia and Giratina-O. The choice between Wish, Seismic Toss and Heal Bell comes to whether Chansey's team mates lack recovery moves or immunities is dependent on Chansey's teammate's access to status immunity and recovery moves. Teams that are vulnerable towards crippling statuses such as Poison, Paralysis and Burns do well with Heal Bell while teams that lack recovery moves benefit greatly from wish. Snatch may also be used for by Chansey as it allows it to take down mono-attacking Arceus (most notably Dark Arceus) by stealing Refreshes and Recovers. If the Arceus is poisoned, Chansey may repetitively abuse snatch so that it cannot remove its status or recover. Should a team do fine against status, Seismic Toss is very useful in stalling out a Poisoned Pokemon attempting to recover off the damage, most notably Lugia be comfortable foregoing Wish's recovery or Heal Bell's status removing support, Seismic Toss should be used for its value in breaking down poisoned enemies that abuse recovery moves, most notably Lugia.

[Additional Comments]

In order to use Chansey effectively, the player must always seize opportunities to switch into special sweepers who that cannot significantly damage Chansey. Entry hazard support greatly aids Chansey in stalling out sweepers. Therefore, spikers such as Forretress, Nattorei and Skarmory make great partners for Chansey. Do not be afraid to switch Chansey in to certain weaker physical attacks as. Due to its extra awesome bulk with Eviolite, it can survive 2 hits harsh beatings provided that there are few entry hazards and poison it and stall the opponent out through Softboiled. Therefore, Chansey should be confident in switching into the likes of Palkia, Dialga, Kyogre (Choice sets), Reshiram, Groudon (Support set), Latias, Latios and Giratina-O (Spinblocking set) and force them to switch out as they fear in fear of Toxic. Chansey can also outstall opposing walls such as like Lugia with Toxic or force a switch.

When selecting a special wall, Blissey is not to be overlooked when compared to Chansey as it can no longer hold Leftovers It should be noted that the inability to use Leftovers is a considerable loss when choosing Chansey over Blissey. While Chansey can take certain hits that Blissey cannot, Chansey can easily get worn down by entry hazards and sand. in range for a KO. It can also no longer gain a free 6% of HP every time it uses Protect It also loses the opportunity to heal behind Protect. Burn and Poison also can hinder Chansey as it can no longer cancel off some of the damage from leftovers take a greater toll on Chansey without Leftovers's healing. Due to Blissey's higher Special Attack, it may utilize a Calm Mind set or use some Blissey can also competently use special attacks such as Flamethrower and Ice Beam to take down certain threats, and can even utilize a Calm Mind set, whereas Chansey's pathetic 35 base Special Attack is unusable. cannot due to its meager 35 Special Attack

Lugia can take powerful hits from physical sweepers easily, use Reflect and Whirlwind them away. Ho-oh can take down a large number of special sweepers that set up Calm Mind on Chansey address any Calm Mind abusers looking to set up on Chansey by hitting and hit them with a powerful STAB Scared Fire or Brave Bird. Giratina and Giratina-O are immune to any Fighting move thrown at Chansey, which can patch up their Ghost weaknesses with its Ghost-type immunity. while it is immune to Ghost type moves aimed at Giratina. Due to the fact that Since most types that are super effective against Giratina predominantly use special attacks, Chansey can also take these Special Attacks back should also be considered a valuable partner from Giratina's perspective. Pokemon that lack recovery moves greatly appreciate Chansey's ability to pass Wish. This can greatly help a variety of Pokemon from sweepers to walls such as Groudon, Nattorei, Palkia and Zekrom. Due to Chansey's massive HP, Wish recipients will recover 321 HP, often restoring them to full health.

[Other Options]

If Chansey's team lacks a Pokemon with Stealth Rock, then it Chansey may use it over Seismic Toss in order to support the team. Protect is still usable over Softboiled when one isn't sure whether Chansey is to give HP to itself or others to secure Wish health for Chansey itself. It may can also be useful for scouting opponents' attacks, but its effectiveness with be greatly hindered by the absence of Leftovers. it will not receive a free 6% of HP. Thunder Wave is an option for offensive teams as it can Paralyze opposing sweepers to prepare for a slower teammate to sweep. An EV spread of 252 HP / 252 Def may be used if one wishes to pass 352 HP with Wish to team mates. This also allows Chansey to take Physical hits better at the cost of a chance to be KOed by a number of more powerful special attacks. Counter is another interesting option for Chansey. Due to its higher physical bulk compared with relative to Blissey, it can survive a number of Physical hits from certain Pokemon and KO them with Counter. Using Counter requires a great deal of prediction, but makes it even more difficult for the opponent to take down Chansey as they will fear to attack Chansey with a Physical move as they will almost certainly have to get their Pokemon KOed. Light Screen is a useful support move that can ensure that pretty much no Special Attacks will KO Chansey while supporting its team as well. Charm can be used in order to make the opponent's Physical Attacks to be weakened so that it can also wall more Physical sweepers weaken the opponent's physical attacks and allow Chansey to more effectively wall physically attacking Pokemon. Note that they can merely switch in order to remove the Attack drop Keep in mind that for Blissey, attack drops are removed by a mere switch in.

[Checks and Counters]

A large number of Many physical sweepers such as Zekrom, Terakion, Ho-Oh, P physical variants of Arceus and Rayquaza can counter Chansey reasonably due to its lower Defense. However, even they have to fear being poisoned by Toxic and stalled out. Chansey can also simply switch to a counter to the physical sweepers and then the Physical sweepers have been crippled and will not last long. Pokemon that are immune to or can remove poison and also use stat boosting and recovery moves such as Swords Dance, Bulk Up, Calm Mind, and Nasty Plot, Recover and Rest can stay and wall Chansey all day give Chansey a lot of problems. This includes Steel, Flying and Poison Arceus, Kyogre and Dialga. Pokemon with Substitute and 404 HP or over more can use a Substitute to + Calm Mind strategy to gain a large number of boosts while Chansey takes 2 turns to break the Substitutes set up fearlessly against Chansey. Extremekiller Arceus can simply set up on it while Chansey deals some relatively minor damage with Seismic Toss or Toxic. Mewtwo can easily 2HKO Chansey with Psycho Break, a task accomplished with increasing ease when backed by Calm Mind boosts especially after one Calm Mind boost. Pokemon with Refresh, Aromatherapy or Heal Bell and a Recovery move can also set up on Chansey at will. all they like while Chansey can not take them down with either Toxic or Seismic Toss. Refresh Arceus and Latias can do are notable examples.

GP 1/2

You will likely need to implement these changes onto the OP before getting your second check-- it would be very difficult for another GP checker to work on top of mine as it is.

Chou's not obligated to provide anything of the sort. He's doing you a favor here and you're complaining that he's not making it easy for you. Have you thought about how much effort he put into that check? What about how long it'll take for him to make a copy pastable version?

If you didn't make so many errors in the first place, obviously the checker wouldn't have so many things to correct. Who knows? Maybe by implementing the changes manually you'll actually learn something, which could go some ways into making your next piece of writing better.

You can also note that Snatch snatches Calm Minds as well, so basically you can steal CMs from virtually any Calm Minder (Arceus, Kyogre, Giratina-O, etc) and get their SpD boost, making you unkillable. Psych Up could also be worth a mention to steal CM boosts.

The part about not being 2HKOed by specs ogre's water spout is very misleading. The scariest specs ogre to stall teams (which would use chansey the most) are modest ones, and chansey is still unable to avoid being 2hkoed by it.

Added the line on CM but many Kyogres are Timid and it only implies a chance of surviving. Also, kyogre may also be weakened.

Ok no. This line seriously has to go: "Its extra defenses allow Chansey to avoid being 2HKOed by a number of attacks that Blissey would succumb to, including Specs Kyogre's Water Spout, Dialga and Palkia's Outrage, and Latios' Psycho Shock." I don't think Smogon's analysis should falsely advertise Pokemon, and at least half of that line is either extremely situational or false. By comparing it with Blissey, people are going to assume that Chansey would be able to sponge those hits while Blissey cannot. In your case, that line is pretty much: "Chansey can take 2 Water Spouts from 50% HP timid Kyogre's while Blissey can't take 2 from max HP modest Kyogre." Also, if it "implies a chance of surviving" (even though you make it seem like Chansey can sponge 2 hits without sweating) you better mention its percentage (which is ridiculously low) or not mention it at all. God you smell like Vince Offer.

In stall teams with chansey, it is very likely for kyogre to be weakened by SR or spikes anyway. I will not remove the statement unless there is further support.

Clearly you have a lack of experience playing stall or against stall, since opposing teams will switch in Kyogre while stall is trying to set up with Forretress or Skarmory. Then what? According to your analysis, I'd switch in Chansey to sponge the hit, but it will be easily 2HKOed. You on the other hand, say that Chansey wouldn't be 2HKOed while Blissey can, but that doesn't hold true for Kyogre and most likely the other examples stated too.

Creelart you're being a bit harsh, but it's true that that line is a little misleading, because Timid max power Water Spout does guarantee a 2HKO on chansey after SR. Clarifying might be a little messy, so maybe just change the sentence to mean "chansey takes hits better than blissey". Also on the subject of the overview it should definitely mention the things that Blissey has over Chansey as well.

Anyways I noticed some errors, but since it's a smallish analysis, I ended up doing a full proofread.

Nice analysis, but a few recurring errors (no serial comma thingy, capitalization, lots of small sentences). Oh and I only realized at the end that Chansey needs to be referred as "she", "her" etc. so you'll need to change that =/

Thanks! I'll read it through. Also creelart, you are an idiot. Sorry. You just are. I've surely had MUCH more experience in playing ubers than you. Who do you think you are? I ain't recommending switching in chansey on a full HP water spout. But after SR and spikes, kyogre is easily walled.

But what you say in your analysis certainly recommends switching Chansey in on full HP water spout...
After all, Blissey can also wall kyogre after SR and spikes. You say that Chansey will not be 2HKOed by water spout while Blissey can, and the only time that happens is at full HP dumbass. Also, full HP water spout is pretty much implied. No one is going to assume the water spout comes from a kyogre after 3 spikes and 1 stealth rock. In that case, fuck chansey, why don't we just use Rayquaza to wall it. That line is extremely circumstantial, making it very misleading and pointless.
Again, most stall teams are looking for that poke to switch in on a max hp water spout. Spikes and stealth rock don't just set themselves up, and while you're trying to, there comes that kyogre. After reading your analysis, they think that Chansey is the poke, but in reality, you're just screwing them over as they get sweeped. If you've had as much experience as you say you have, im sure you can attest to this fact.
I don't even know why you are writing this analysis; your grammar is horrible and the same goes for your spelling. You better thank the proof readers for going through all that broken english. Not to mention that you mislead people and don't really know much about chansey, as evidenced by how you didn't know the lethality of snatch chansey..

Alright ladies lets end this.

If you do not specify how much HP Kyogre has, is it natural to assume full HP. Bringing in Kyogre before hazards are set is also the most logical thing to do, so they don't cut Water Spout's power. Chansey and Blissey both take full HP Water Spout like crap, so that part of the line does need to be removed.

For the record, Chansey is 2HKOed by Latios Psycho Shock after SR, and +1 is a definite 2HKO, so you should remove that bit too.

Chansey's main claim to fame is taking weaker physical attacks such as support Groudon EQ that would screw over Blissey.

Remove the Specs Kyogre scenarion. Chansey can't counter it but check it as long as Water Spout is weaken a bit.

Fireburn, Latios is weak without Soul Dew. A +1 Psycho Shock never 2HKOes Chansey unless you have Life Orb as well. Chansey does walls Latios to an extend although Latios sucks without his mystical item.

Chansey also takes on Mixed attackers such as Giratina-O and Rayquaza better because Chansey can survive 2 Brick Breaks and can easily stall out Dragon Claw.

+1 Psyshock does 44.1% - 52.1% to no HP Calm Chansey. Bold Chansey survives 2 hits easily. Bold takes 40.7% - 47.9%

OK, Fireburn here are some calculations:

Timid Specs Kyogre vs standard Ubers Chansey: 44.4% - 52.3%
Timid Specs Kyogre vs Ubers Blissey: 54.8% - 64.6%

Based on the calculations, Chansey actually has more chance of surviving 2 hits then dying. Blissey on the other hand is always 2HKOed regardless. Calze6 was actually right, Chansey can take 2 Water Spouts more often than not, assuming it's Timid Specs Kyogre.

If Kyogre is Modest and Choice Specs it does:
Blissey takes 60% - 70.9%
Chansey takes 48.6% - 57.2%

This time Chansey still has some chance of surviving 2 hits while Blissey isn't even close to surviving 2 hits. If Kyogre is Modest Specs, it can usually 2HKO Chansey, but if it is Timid, Chansey is very likely to survive 2 hits.

Oh yeah, I have a lot of experience with stall because I usually win with defensive teams. Chansey CAN survive 2 Water Spouts for Timid Kyogre while Blissey can't.

Once Modest Specs Kyogre takes Stealth Rock damage, it no longer 2HKOes Chansey but Blissey is still 2HKOed. In this case, the extra defenses does matter.

Sorry Fireburn but calze did nothing wrong stating Chansey can take on Choice Specs Kyogre better than Blissey can. In gen 4 people run Timid Specs Kyogre but in this new gen, I believe Modest is the superior Nature. Calze shold put Timid Specs Kyogre instead of just Specs Kyogre to clarify it a bit.

Since most types that are super effective against Giratina are predominantly use special attacks, Chansey should also be considered a valuable partner from Giratina's perspective. Pokemon that lack recovery moves greatly appreciate Chansey's ability to pass Wish, from sweepers such as Palkia and Zekrom to walls like Groudon and Ferrothorn. Due to Chansey's massive HP, Wish recipients will recover 321 HP, often restoring them to full health.

[Other Options]

If your team lacks a Pokemon with Stealth Rock, Chansey may use it over Seismic Toss in order to support the team even further. Protect is still usable over Softboiled to secure Wish activation for Chansey herself. It can also be useful for scouting opponent's attacks, but its effectiveness is greatly hindered by the absence of Leftovers. Thunder Wave is an option for offensive teams to as it can paralyze opposing Pokemon in preparation to prepare for a slower teammate to sweep. An EV spread of 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD may be used if one wishes to pass 352 HP to teammates with Wish, or take physical hits better at the cost of less special bulk. This also allows Chansey to take physical hits better at the cost of a chance to be KOed by a number of more powerful special attacks. Counter is another interesting option for Chansey; due to her higher physical bulk relative to Blissey, she can survive a number of physical hits from certain Pokemon and KO them with Counter. Using Counter requires a great deal of prediction, but makes it even more difficult for the opponent to take down Chansey. Light Screen is a useful support move to support the team and that can ensures that pretty much no special attacks will KO Chansey, while supporting the team as well. Charm can be used in order weaken the opponent's physical attacks and allow Chansey to more effectively wall physical attacking Pokemon. Keep in mind that for Blissey, attack drops are removed by a mere switch in (huh?) (still there from last proofread :P I still don't undestand what this sentence means though, could you explain?).

[Checks and Counters]

Many physical sweepers such as Zekrom, Terrakion, Ho-Oh, physical variants of Arceus, and Rayquaza can counter Chansey reasonably well due to her lower Defense; however, even they have to fear being poisoned by Toxic and stalled out. and Chansey can also simply be switched out to a counter to the physical sweepers. Pokemon that can safely ignore poison and use stat boosting moves such as Swords Dance, Bulk Up, Calm Mind, and Nasty Plot can give Chansey a lot of problems. This includes Steel, Flying, and Poison types of Arceus, Kyogre, and Dialga. Ghost-types and Pokemon with 404 HP or more can use Substitute to set up fearlessly against Chansey, as they are not bothered by Seismic Toss or Toxic. Extremekiller Arceus can simply set up on Chansey with Swords Dance, taking only relatively minor damage from Seismic Toss or Toxic. Mewtwo can easily 2HKO Chansey with Psystrike, a task accomplished with much ease when backed by Calm Mind boosts. Pokemon with Refresh, Aromatherapy, or Heal Bell and a Recovery move can also set up on Chansey at will. Refresh Arceus and Latias are notable examples.

[Dream World]

Chansey receives Healing Heart as her Dream World ability. It serves no purpose in singles competitive play.

Did a proofread before but I'm on the GP team now, so with these additional changes (making sure everything's good + you didn't change it/its to she/her):
