Cinccino

This whole argument is moot! I declare this Cincicco set to be the de-facto winner;

Cinccino@(??focus sash??)
Jolly
Technician
EV's into speed and attack

Endure
Flail
Bullet Seed/Rock Blast/Wake Up Slap/U Turn
Bullet Seed/Rock Blast/Wake Up Slap

PS I registered just so i could remind everyone of its Endure/Flail combo. Its damage would be beyond epic, and it would be a decent lead
PPS Does technician apply to flail with 1 hp? (oh god tell me it does)

No, in moves with variable damage, it only affects it when its BP for calculation is 60 or lower.

Well, that is assuming that Flail follows the same rules as Payback or Pursuit anyway, which is probably the case.
In worst case, it won't even affect it when its BP is 20 or 40.

Well, in any case, its still better than the light-ball, flail, reveresaling pika I used to use as a lead back in the day (bc of stab and speed); and that thing ruled!

Also, if you are going for the endure path, why use focus sash? You are forced to use other items like lum berry or hilariously silk scarf.

Wile that's true, if you've ever tried the above pika setup, you know you're basically fighting with a paper sack cannon. Another level of protection can come in handy from time to time; but yeah, i was struggling with what to equip on it. SILK SCARF FTW

Worth pointing out that Technician was bugged on Shoddy, however, and did boost at least Low Kick and Grass Knot (and maybe also Payback and Pursuit, not sure) even when their BP was above 60. Not sure if it's bugged on PO or not.

Shoddy(Or PO) means nothing, in-game is all that matters.

edit 2: added another very obvious set that I overlooked first time. I've been using this one in-game and it's pretty nice to get that sort of coverage.

Why is it that the multi-hit attacks seem to do so much damage? Do multi hit attacks really amount to the same as a single-hit attack of the same final base power, or is the damage calculated differently for each hit?

Pretty much the same power (barring things like Technician boosts and critical hits). Maybe a little more if all the hits reach the upper end of the damage possibilities.

So I guess the benefit of technician is really that you can get a boost that's more than what technician would usually allow (since only 3 hits is already more than a base 60 power attack, and it keeps going from there.

There was a thread on multi-hit moves earlier and a bigger reason for more power with technician is that multi-hit moves have a better chance of landing a crit, which in turn would lead to the same damage or close to the unboosted 5 hits of skill link. Course Skill link would also have the same chance of landing a crit, perhaps even better, but with the higher attack base thanks to technician it still stands a great fighting chance.

Cinccino with Choice Scarf and After You could be good in doubles to make Conkeldurr's Focus Punch happen immediately.

I wouldn't bother with Choice Scarf since Cinccino is already insanely fast to begin with. I'd rather run something else so I can use Protect since Cinccino pretty much has a "Kill Me" sign over its head whenever you bring it out.

If it got Focus Energy (which it, shamefully, doesn't seem to), would that be useful at all? I would think that a Scope Lens/Skill Link set with that 25% crit rate on 5 attacks would blow through even boosted defense pretty easily...

Oh well. Man can dream, can't he? Man can dream.

I'm starting to fall in love with this thing. Guess he's next on my list.

1. Take the standard set.
2. Give it a Razor Fang.
3. Bring it into Random Matchup and get a flinch from nearly every one of your multi-hit attacks.

A lot of people know about this, but it's really good nonetheless.

i'm kinda disappointed that this thing doesn't learn Arm Thrust, because then you'd have a viable Fighting move to use with Skill Link. then again, i guess i see the lack of logic in giving such a short-armed creature a move associated with extending your arm outward...

Specifically, it's a move associated with [Sumo] Wrestling

i guess....
but on another note, i like the idea of Metronome on this guy: granted, it boosts per turn, rather than per hit, but it gives a good bonus on damage, especially if you're able to use the same attack over and over without needing to change in the face of a counter of a certain attack, and it doesn't lock you in like a Choice item would.
(sorry if i make any bad suggestions: i'm new to competitive battling)

I've been using this guy on my random wifi team, and I must say: As a choice bander, it works quite effectively as a lead; it'a a bit unreliable, since you have a 65% chance of only hitting twice, but once skill link comes out that won't be a problem. When it DOES hit more than twice, it usually puts a heavy dent in whatever it's hitting.
