Name of the Pokemon: Sableye
Role(s): Trick Room Setter, Support, Suicide Lead
Type:

Abilities: Keen Eye / Intimidate / Prankster
Stat Distribution: 50/100/120/100/120/30 (520 BST)
Movepool Additions: Trick Room, Memento, Moonblast
Movepool Removals: Recover, Moonlight, Shadow Sneak, Calm Mind, Taunt
Justification: Sableye is a potent Trick Room setter, distinguishing itself with its great defensive typing and decent defenses, as well as its slow speed. Thanks to Prankster, it can even outspeed mons that are slower than it. However, like other setters, it has no recovery, making it easily worn down as the battle goes on.

Name of the Pokemon: Masquerain
Role(s): Trick Room Abuser, Wallbreaker, Choice Item
Type:

Abilities: Unnerve/ Invertebrate / Tinted Lens
Stat Distribution: 70/70/80/120/80/50 (470 BST)
Movepool Additions: Leech Life, Megahorn, Surf, Boomburst, Hyper Voice
Movepool Removals: Quiver Dance
Custom Elements: Invertebrate: Normal-type attacks gain a 1.2x boost and become Bug-type. (Aerilate clone)
Justification: Masquerain is a powerful Trick Room abuser, having the option of either having incredibly powerful STAB Boombursts, or ignoring resistances with Tinted Lens. However, it relies on choice items to be powerful, and its weakness to Stealth Rock limits the amount of times it can switch in.

Name of the Pokemon: Drampa
Role(s): Special Wall, Status Spreader, Weather Check, Pseudohazer
Type:

Abilities: Levitate / Natural Cure / Cloud Nine
Stat Distribution: 78/50/85/101/135/71 (520 BST)
Movepool Additions: Moonblast, Moonlight, Dazzling Gleam, Whirlwind, Tri Attack
Movepool Removals: Tailwind, Thunderbolt, Hurricane, Surf, Ice Beam, Focus Blast, Calm Mind, Draco Meteor, Dragon Pulse, Outrage
Justification: Drampa is a solid Glare user, with a formidable typing and special defenses, fairly viable abilities, and good support moves like Defog and Whirlwind. However, it is fairly passive, having no way to boost itself.

Name of the Pokemon: Banette
Role(s): Paralysis Abuser, Special Attacker, Stallbreaker
Type:

Abilities: Frisk / Lightning Rod / Power Surge
Stat Distribution: 85/85/95/85/95/75 (520 BST)
Movepool Additions: Statishock, Electro Ball
Custom Elements:
Power Surge: This Pokemon's attacks are critical hits if the target is paralyzed. (Merciless clone)
Statishock: 65 BP, Electric, Special, 100%, 16 PP, Power doubles if the target is paralyzed. (Venoshock clone)
Justification: Banette is a force to be reckoned with once many opponents have been paralyzed, having 100% crits on 130 BP Statishock and Hex. It can also boost with Calm Mind and pressure Stall with Taunt. However, if the opponent is not paralyzed, Banette's power is quite underwhelming.

Movepool Removals: Earthquake, Earth Power, Dragon Dance
Custom Elements: Invertebrate: Normal-type attacks gain a 1.2x boost and become Bug-type. (Aerilate clone)

We already have a Flygon according to the Spreadsheet, sorry.

Name of the Pokemon: Dragonair ( no Eviolite )
Role(s): Rain Setter, Hail Setter, Sun Setter
Type:

Abilities: Drizzle / Snow Warning | Drought
Stat Distribution: 90 / 70 / 87 / 103 / 98 / 82 ( BST: 530 )
Movepool Additions: Recover, U-turn
Movepool Removals:
Justification: A weather-setting tank that has decent bulk, power, and movepool, but is held back somewhat by poor defensive typing. It uses varying weather conditions ( the Dragonair lore supports this idea ) to give itself pseudo STAB on Water or Fire or to boost its own Ice STAB. Thanks to U-turn and decent offensive presence, it's good at pivoting to a weather-abusing teammate. It also takes Grass attacks aimed at Whiscash, as well as Grass and Electric attacks aimed at Water types in general.

both Sableye and Drampa are pretty similar (not completely obv) to Cofag and Flygon, respectively, and we're still lacking several types (fighting, flying, ground, normal). Perhaps tweak their types in order to reduce competition?

Made Sableye Dark/Fairy and Drampa Normal/Fairy. Is that too much Fairy typing?

Additionally, does anyone on the council have feedback on my mons other than the typing?

I dropped from 103 SpA / 82 Spe down to 95 SpA / 70 Spe. This way it has to run Timid if it wants to outspeed Nihilego, in which case it's only a 1.2% chance to 2HKO it through Hail and SR. It can still beat Nihilego with a Drizzle Specs set and it can still Blizzspam pretty effectively, and I think that's okay. It's not going to fit on teams nearly as easily as Metagross, Tapu Bulu, or Cloyster due to its speed, typing, and SR weakness, and we'll get some better Ice resists in the future ( inevitably due to Raichu ).

Looks pretty cool, but a Calm Mind stallbreaker set looks nasty- CM/Taunt/Pain Split/STAB sounds like a pretty brutal set against bulkier teams, slowly chipping them into oblivion or just boosting all the way to a win. Sure, Unaware Nihilego beats this set but what else really would? Removing Taunt and Calm Mind would probably keep the focus on being a setter.

Bug/Water an unresisted type combination outside of Flygon, but Flygon has a chance to be 2HKO'd after hazard damage or can just be cheesed with tinted lens. This would be more manageable if it didn't have a fantastic 90/80/100 natural bulk and access to recovery, so I'd recommend toning down the bulk a fair bit, and probably removing the option to go physical (you can boost special attack a slight bit in order to be more of a TR nuke). Also any reason all of you subs has 520 BST? I have no issue with it as it fits the mod's general power (if a little bit over the average), just wondering why you adhered to a specific number.

101 Special Attack isn't subpar by any means, what's more subpar about it is being unable to dent Nihilego. Good sub, no glaring issues.

75 is actually a pretty golden speed tier for a breaker at the moment, as it outspeeds Nihilego without a positive nature, so I wouldn't call it slow. I'd recommend giving it Thunder Wave back (otherwise it'll just run Lightning Rod in order to check Raichu). Otherwise fine enough. Sorry for the late comments.

Jucherz wins pair #1 with his Kricketune+Poipole Webs squad:

Pokemon: Kricketune
Roles: Sticky Web Setter, Special Wallbreaker, Physical Wallbreaker
Type:

Abilities: Swarm / Soundproof (HA)
Base Stats: 77 / 75 / 61 / 75 / 61 / 95 (444 BST)
Movepool Additions: Boomburst, Tail Glow
Movepool Removals: None
Custom Elements: None
Uses: Kricketune is a Sticky Web setter, but it isn't passive and can do a lot of damage if not taken seriously. It has got STAB Boomburst and Tail Glow to boost its Special Attack. The funny thing is that Kricketune can counter opposing Kricketunes thanks to Soundproof. However if you want to surprise the opponent, you can use the inferior Swords Dance set to beat opposing Kricketunes.
Kricketune @ Focus Sash
Ability: Soundproof
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Sticky Web
- Tail Glow
- Boomburst
- Bug Buzz / Taunt

Kricketune @ Focus Sash
Ability: Soundproof
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Sticky Web
- Swords Dance
- Return
- Knock Off

Pokemon: Poipole (not Eviolite compatible)
Roles: Sticky Web Abuser, Mixed Sweeper, Choice Specs, Choice Band
Type:

Abilities: Adaptability
Base Stats: 87 / 123 / 67 / 123 / 67 / 63 (530 BST)
Movepool Additions: Psychic, Psyshock, Psycho Cut, Future Sight, Venostrike*
Movepool Removals: Nasty Plot
Custom Elements: Venostrike |
|
| 65 Power | 100% Accuracy | 16 PP | Power doubles if any of the target's stats is lowered. (Venoshock clone)
Uses: Poipole is the perfect Sticky Web abuser. It has a very low Speed and a mediocre bulk, but it is one of the strongest Clean Pokemon thanks to Adaptability and high attacking stats, both physical and special. Sticky Web helps with Poipole's low Speed and it even makes Poipole stronger by doubling Venostrike's power against all foes affected by Sticky Web. Poipole is extremely strong, but it doesn't have any good coverage except Hidden Power, which means it gets checked by Swalot, Metagross and Cofagrigus.
Poipole @ Life Orb / Choice Specs
Ability: Adaptability
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Venostrike
- Psychic
- Hidden Power [Ground]
- Sludge Bomb

Poipole @ Life Orb / Choice Band
Ability: Adaptability
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Gunk Shot
- Psycho Cut
- Iron Tail
- Fell Stinger
And there is a tie between leonard (me) and Anaconja for pair #2! Tiebreaker and discussion phase begin now, tiebreaker ends in 8 hours or so.

Tiebreaker options:

Pokemon: Celesteela
Roles: Gravity Setter, Mixed Wall, Automize Sweeper
Type:

Abilities: Beast Boost | Force of Attraction* (HA)
Stat Distribution: 97 / 97 / 103 / 89 / 101 / 73 (560 BST)
Movepool Additions: None
Movepool Removals: Fire Blast, Flamethrower, Energy Ball, Giga Drain, Grass Knot, Mega Drain, Air Slash
Custom Elements: Force Of Attraction: Drizzle clone for Gravity, Metal Powder makes Gravity last for 8 turns instead of 5. Gravity is now overwritten by other weather and vice versa.
Justification: Celesteela is very heavy, so the idea of summoning Gravity on entry is not too far off. Additionally, Celesteela boasts very solid mixed bulk, ok recovery via Leech Seed, and a powerful Heavy Slam to avoid passivity. An Automized Heavy Slam set can also be ran leveraging Heavy Slam, Earthquake, and Stone Edge alongside Beast Boost in order to sweep. Also, 560 BST and prime stats for consistency with Nihilego :).

Pokemon: Raticate-Alola-Totem
Roles: Gravity Abuser, Stallbreaker (Setup-based), Choice Scarf, Choice Band
Type:

Abilities:
Thick Fat / Gluttony | Extreme Bulk (HA)
Stat Distribution: 122 / 71 / 40 / 40 / 50 / 77 (400 BST)
Movepool Additions: Heavy Slam, High Horsepower
Movepool Removals: Zen Headbutt, Sucker Punch
Custom Elements: Extreme Bulk: While under the effects of Gravity, the user's attack stat is doubled (Swift Swim clone with attack)
Justification: A Gravity abuser that becomes phenomenally powerful under the effects of Gravity, being able to shred through any wall it comes in contact with and possessing a great Speed tier for the job (outspeeding Nihilego while remaining adamant, cool). Alternatively, a Choice Scarf set running a Jolly nature can outspeed the entire unboosted metagame (adamant is outsped by Raichu) and slam offense for heavy damage off of an effective Attack stat of 530. However this set struggles against bulkier teams, while the breaker sets struggle against offense. Additionally Gravity only lasts for so long before its back to possessing a very mediocre base 71 Attack.

Wallbreaker (Raticate-Alola-Totem) @ Darkinium Z
Ability: Extreme Bulk
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Double-Edge
- Knock Off
- Quick Attack

Choice Scarf (Raticate-Alola-Totem) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Extreme Bulk
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Double-Edge
- Knock Off
- High Horsepower
- Quick Attack

Did somebody say calcs?
Poipole:
+2 252 SpA Life Orb Adaptability Poipole Venostrike vs. 248 HP / 56 SpD Assault Vest Tapu Bulu: 530-629 (142 - 168.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 SpA Life Orb Adaptability Poipole Psychic vs. 248 HP / 252+ SpD Nihilego: 317-374 (78.2 - 92.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
+2 252 SpA Life Orb Adaptability Poipole Venoshock vs. 104 HP / 236+ SpD Swalot: 169-200 (32.6 - 38.6%) -- 99.2% chance to 3HKO
This doesn't factor in any Berry Recovery if Swalot is using Cheek Pouch.
+2 indicates that the opponent has a stat lowered and takes x2 damage from Venostrike.

Kricketune:
+3 252 SpA Kricketune Boomburst vs. 104 HP / 236+ SpD Swalot: 379-447 (73.3 - 86.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
+3 252 SpA Kricketune Boomburst vs. 248 HP / 252+ SpD Nihilego: 126-149 (31.1 - 36.7%) -- 73.3% chance to 3HKO
+3 252 SpA Kricketune Boomburst vs. 248 HP / 56 SpD Assault Vest Tapu Bulu: 297-351 (79.6 - 94.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Grassy Terrain recovery

I'll edit more in later.

Kricketune and Poiple do have a lot of checks so far. Cloyster in particular can punish this strategy by gaining +1 Speed and revenge killing Poipole with Vicious Mockery. Kricketune checks Cloyster a bit with Soundproof, but usually you'll have killed it while it was setting webs. That said, I still wonder if this duo's sheer power against neutral targets will get out of hand further down the line.

I think Poipole would prefer to run Psyshock as all it's really meant to hit is Nihilego and Psyshock hits for much heavier damage. Personally I think the webs duo are pretty balanced at the moment because Kricketune suffers from possessing normal+bug STAB which is resisted by Nihilego and the poor bug has nothing to hit it back with outside of a piss-weak hidden power while Nihilego can just spin away the webs. Poipole would be pretty busted but luckily Metagross and (Cheek Pouch) Swalot easily handle most sets (Metagross can lose to Charm variants) and offensively Poipole is checked by Raichu. It also runs Modest because Modest 252 speed is faster than -1 Timid Flygon while Timid cannot outspeed -1 Raichu, making it pretty pointless.

Also I'm tempted to make the next slate have a requirement of at least 1 sub having a partial ground typing and another sub having a partial flying typing, because outside of Volt Absorb Flaaffy Voltturn strategies are looking busted.

Also I updated the Spreadsheet, Role Comp, and Sample Sets + created began ordering the VR (based on theory)

You could avoid requiring it by giving 1 extra point in voting to subs that have it. This way it encourages submissions of that typing and makes them more likely to win, but still allows people to make different submissions if they so choose.

The winner of the tiebreaker is me with my Gravity core! (best of luck next time, Anaconja, your subs were really solid)

Pokemon: Celesteela
Roles: Gravity Setter, Mixed Wall, Automize Sweeper

This looks pretty broken.
+2 252 Atk Raticate-Alola High Horsepower vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Celesteela: 196-232 (49.3 - 58.4%) -- 65.2% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
+2 252 Atk Raticate-Alola Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Cofagrigus: 100-118 (35.2 - 41.5%) -- guaranteed 3HKO (note that Cofagrigus does not have reliable recovery)
+2 252 Atk Raticate-Alola Double-Edge vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Tapu Bulu: 172-204 (46.1 - 54.6%) -- 7.4% chance to 2HKO after Grassy Terrain recovery
+2 252 Atk Raticate-Alola High Horsepower vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Swalot: 262-310 (47.3 - 56%) -- 80.1% chance to 2HKO

It 2HKOs basically everything except Tapu Bulu with its unresisted combination of Knock Off, Double-Edge, and High Horsepower, and that's not even mentioning Choice Band or Swords Dance. Unless some physical behemoth is introduced, this mon looks like the death of any defensive team.

On a less important tangent, Meganium gets a 73% accurate Grass Whistle and Raichu gets 91% accurate Blizzards and Thunders, which is scary.

It is strong, but keep in mind Cofagrigus gets Will-O-Wisp and Pain Split, both easily crippling Raticate-A. Pain Split is especially effective because of the large HP difference.
