Abilities: Moxie
Stat Distribution: 75 / 100 / 75 / 65 / 75 / 100 | BST: 490
Movepool Additions: Accelerock, Drill Peck, Bulk Up
Movepool Removals: Head Smash, Outrage, Sky Attack
Custom Elements: N/A
Justification: Archeops is a physical sweeper with Moxie to snowball or Bulk Up and Rock Polish to set up. It gets STAB priority in Accelerock, main STABs in Stone Edge and Drill Peck, and can also set Stealth Rock.
252 Atk Life Orb Archeops Accelerock vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Raichu: 289-343 (115.1 - 136.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO

252 Atk Life Orb Raichu Ice Shard vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Archeops: 187-221 (64.2 - 75.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO // very small chance to OHKO with Stealth Rock damage

Name of the Pokemon: Kyurem
Role(s): Hazard Control (Magic Bounce), Special Wallbreaker, Choice Specs User, Taunt-based Stallbreaker
Type:

Abilities: Pressure / Magic Bounce (HA)
Stat Distribution: 100 / 70 / 70 / 110 / 70 / 90 | BST: 510
Movepool Additions: Taunt
Movepool Removals: N/A
Custom Elements: N/A
Justification: Kyurem is a special wallbreaker and Magic Bounce hazard controller. Magic Bounce and Taunt also give it the ability to stallbreak, bouncing Toxics and Will-O-Wisps back and preventing recovery with Taunt.

masquerain.gif

Name of the Pokemon: Masquerain
Role(s): Hazard Setter (Sticky Web, Spikes, Toxic Spikes), Hazard Control (Defog), Utility, Cleric
Type:
bug.gif
ghost.gif

Abilities: Unnerve / Magic Guard (HA)
Stat Distribution: 85 / 50 / 85 / 80 / 85 / 125 | BST: 510
Movepool Additions: Spikes, Toxic Spikes, Shadow Ball, Will-O-Wisp, Hex, Destiny Bond, Thunder Wave, Wish, Healing Wish, Aromatherapy
Movepool Removals: Quiver Dance, Ice Beam, Blizzard, Hydro Pump, Aqua Jet, Liquidation, Scald
Custom Elements: N/A
Justification: Masquerain is a utility and support Pokemon with lots of moves to use, and its moveset can be tailored to its team's needs. It can set Sticky Web, Spikes, or Toxic Spikes, and it can Defog hazards away while spinblocking with its Ghost-typing. Magic Guard allows it to avoid taking damage from those hazards as well as absorbing status. It can spread burns and paralysis, or it can act as a cleric with Wish, Aromatherapy, and Healing Wish. It has massive 4MSS, but that also leaves it unpredictable. However, it doesn't hit very hard, and while fast, its bulk isn't special either.

blacephalon.gif

Name of the Pokemon: Blacephalon
Role(s): Utility, Revenge Killer, Choice Scarf User, Priority User (Shadow Sneak)
Type:
fire.gif
ghost.gif

Abilities: Beast Boost / Dazzling (HA)
Stat Distribution: 71 / 103 / 73 / 103 / 83 / 107 | BST: 540
Movepool Additions: Shadow Sneak, Hex, Fire Punch, Thunder Wave, Wish, Memento
Movepool Removals: Mind Blown, Overheat, Fire Blast, Calm Mind
Custom Elements: N/A
Justification: Blacephalon is a fast offensive utility Pokemon and revenge killer. It gets priority in Shadow Sneak to pick off weakened targets and several utility moves like Thunder Wave, Will-O-Wisp, Trick, and Memento. Its stats can be tailored to boost its Attack, Special Attack, or Speed when knocking out a foe with Beast Boost, or it can run Dazzling to avoid being easily revenge killed by priority users.

EDIT: removed Rapidash to be subbed in the next archetype slate instead

Name of the Pokemon: Magearna (resub)
Role(s): Set-up Sweeper, Physical Attacker
Type:
steel.gif
fairy.gif

Abilities: Clear Body / Light Metal / Overcoat
Stat Distribution: 90/85/55/60/115/75 (480 BST)
Movepool Additions: Play Rough, Wild Charge
Movepool Removals: Heal Bell, Pain Split, Calm Mind
Justification: Magearna is a powerful physical sweeper, using one of the most powerful setup moves in Shift Gear to wreak havoc on offensive teams. While it does not have many physical moves to actually choose from, it has enough to target certain bulky types like Water and Steel. Additionally, thanks to its abnormally high Special Defense and incredible defensive typing, it can find many opportunities to set up. However, its physical defense is abysmal, and it can be revenged easily by physical tanks like Tapu Bulu and Celesteela.

Magearna @ Steelium Z / Fightinium Z
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly / Adamant Nature
- Shift Gear
- Iron Head / Brick Break
- Play Rough
- Brick Break / Wild Charge

forretress.gif

Name of the Pokemon: Forretress (resub)
Role(s): Defensive Pivot, Hazard Control, Toxic Spikes Setter
Type:
bug.gif
steel.gif

Abilities:
Overcoat / Regenerator
Stat Distribution: 70/100/130/60/80/40 (480 BST)
Movepool Additions: Lunge, Iron Head
Movepool Removals: Stealth Rock, Spikes, Sticky Web, Explosion
Justification: Forretress is a fantastic RegenVester, sporting great support moves in Lunge, Rapid Spin, and Volt Switch. It has only one weakness in Fire, it has good 70/130/80 bulk, and its decent 100 Attack allows it to OHKO Raichu-Alola with Gyro Ball. It is fairly passive, however, and is prone to setup from special setup sweepers.

Forretress @ Assault Vest
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD
Sassy Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Lunge
- Gyro Ball

Forretress @ Leftovers / Rocky Helmet

Name of the Pokemon: Shuckle
Role(s): Special Wall, Spikes Setter
Type:
bug.gif
rock.gif

Abilities:
Swarm / Gluttony / Contrary
Stat Distribution: 65/70/110/70/130/5 (450 BST)
Movepool Additions: U-Turn, Spikes, Bug Buzz, Power Gem, Recycle
Movepool Removals: Stealth Rock, Sticky Web, Shell Smash, Rest
Justification: Shuckle is a formidable special wall, especially in sand; thanks to its ability Gluttony, it can give itself a fairly reliable source of recovery with 50% berries, while setting up Spikes. Its incredibly slow speed tier also allows it to be one of the best defensive pivots. It's not without downsides, however; its defensive typing leaves much to be desired, and it has no other way of recovery if its berry is knocked off.

Forretress @ Wiki Berry
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Power Gem / Bug Buzz
- Spikes
- Recycle

Abilities:
Soundproof / Sinister Undergrowth
Stat Distribution: 90/50/85/120/85/70 (500 BST)
Movepool Additions: Pursuit, Brutal Swing, Dark Pulse, Earth Power
Movepool Removals: Leech Seed, Synthesis
Custom Elements: Sinister Undergrowth: All Dark-type attacks become Grass-type and hit off of Special Attack.
Justification: Abomasnow is a force to be reckoned with, profiting off of the common Water-types in the meta and doing huge damage with Sinister Undergrowth-boosted Pursuits. However, it has a subpar speed tier, and its defensive typing is terrible.

Abomasnow @ Choice Specs / Choice Scarf
Ability: Sinister Undergrowth
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

Type:

Abilities: Infiltrator / Analytic | Long Reach (HA)
Stat Distribution: 78 / 88 / 78 / 88 / 78 / 110 | BST: 520
Movepool Additions: *Storm Bow, Leech Seed
Removed Moves: Spirit Shackle
Custom Elements: Storm Bow - 80 BP Special Flying-type move, target can't switch out ( Spirit Shackle clone )
Sinister Arrow Raid - Now a Special Flying-type move powered by Storm Bow
Justification: Jumpluff meets Crobat. It has a great speed tier and can set up with Swords Dance or Nasty Plot, allowing it to function as a lategame sweeper. However, it needs a fair amount of support to set up its sweep: multiple offensive and defensive threats will need to be removed or weakened before it can avoid being walled or revenge killed. Despite its modest offenses, Brave Bird is an incredible STAB move that hits very hard when boosted by Swords Dance or Analytic. Both Infiltrator and Analytic are great abilities to pair with Leech Seed, the former bypassing Substitute and the latter powering up attacks when the opponent switches out to get rid of Leech Seed. These attributes along with its Flying type and access to a trapping move make it a potent Leech Seed abuser as well.
Swords Dance ( Decidueye ) @ Flyinium-Z / Lum Berry
Ability: Long Reach / Analytic

- Brave Bird
- Leaf Blade
- Sucker Punch / Shadow Sneak

delcatty.gif

Name of the Pokemon: Delcatty
Role(s): Hazard Control (Magic Bounce), Special Sweeper
Type:
normal.gif
psychic.gif

Abilities: Cute Charm / Own Tempo | Magic Bounce (HA)
Stat Distribution: 73 / 65 / 68 / 95 / 79 / 100 | BST: 480
Movepool Additions: Psychic, Psyshock, Morning Sun, Healing Wish
Justification: Delcatty is designed to be a balanced Magic Bounce user with the potential to beat most hazard setters - but only with prediction. Thanks to its wide movepool it can score super effective hits on hazard setters such as Nihilego, Mew, Metagross, Swampert, Rhydon, Cloyster, and Flygon, however it will take huge damage from most of their attacks. It doesn't threaten many defensive pokemon that lack hazards such as Swalot, Celesteela, and Mega Audino.

Ability: Magic Bounce
252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe, Timid

Name of the Pokemon: Genesect

Type:

Abilities: Mold Breaker | Swarm (HA)
Stat Distribution: 62 / 95 / 75 / 105 / 75 / 103 | BST: 535
Movepool Additions: Stealth Rock, Spikes, Taunt,
Removed Moves: Shift Gear, Blaze Kick, Flamethrower, Flame Charge, Ice Beam, Blizzard, Thunderbolt, Thunder
Justification: Good Speed and defensive typing allow Genesect to set up hazards pretty easily. Mold Breaker also supports this endeavor. Genesect has enough offensive presence to force switches thanks to moves like U-turn, Extremespeed, and Explosion, which helps it find opportunities to set hazards and otherwise be of use. It still is not too difficult to wall, although it packs a lot of utility into its moves and can run useful Choice Band and special attacking sets ( thanks to Techno Blast ).

meloetta-pirouette.gif

Name of the Pokemon: Meloetta-Pirouette
Role(s): Offensive Pivot, Wallbreaker, Offensive Spinner
Type:
fighting.gif
psychic.gif

Abilities: Levitate | Dancer ( HA )
Stat Distribution: 90 / 105 / 105 / 60 / 60 / 80 | BST: 510
Movepool Additions: *Silent Step, High Jump Kick, Rapid Spin, Moonlight, Foresight, Wish, Shadow Sneak,
Removed Moves: Relic Song, Close Combat
Custom Elements: Silent Step - 70 BP physical Ghost-type move - User switches out ( U-turn clone )
Justification: A physical attacker with the powerful combination of High Jump Kick and a Ghost-type pivoting move. It makes pretty good use of the ability Dancer thanks to its physical bias and ability to copy the moves Swords Dance and Dragon Dance. Levitate is also quite useful for it, allowing it to become incredibly resilient to entry hazards and wall non-Mold Breaker Rhydon. Rapid Spin is also a neat option for it, although it's not a top tier spinner because it has trouble against Mew and Cofagrigus. Still, it offers good role compression.
Pivot ( Meloetta-Pirouette ) @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate / Dancer
80 HP / 252 Atk / 176 Spe, Adamant
- High Jump Kick
- Silent Step
- Moonlight
- Toxic / Rapid Spin / Heal Bell

Movepool Additions: Infestation, Leech Life
Movepool Removals: None
Custom Elements: Malware: On switch-in, this Pokemon lowers the Speed of adjacent opponents by 1 stage. (Intimidate clone)
Uses: Porygon-Z can work as a set-up sweeper with Z Conversion or Nasty Plot. Porygon-Z's new signature ability helps with its low Speed and makes setting up against faster foes easier.

Movepool Additions: Zen Headbutt, Psycho Cut, Dream Eater, Hypnosis, Spikes, Heal Block
Movepool Removals: Swords Dance
Custom Elements: None
Uses: Ariados is a decent hazard setter (Sticky Web + Spikes) that can also cripple the foe with Hypnosis and then set up with Hone Claws. It can also wallbreak by utilizing Heal Block.

Movepool Additions: Rapid Spin, Recover
Movepool Removals: None
Custom Elements: None
Uses: Stunfisk is a special wall that can set up its own Stealth Rock or remove the opponent's Stealth Rock with Rapid Spin. Thanks to its ability Dazzling it is a counter to priority spammers such as Ninjask (which turned out to be kinda broken).

Custom Elements: Turbo Boost |
bug.gif
|
physical.png
| 70 Power | 100% Accuracy | 32 PP | Power doubles if user is burn/poison/paralyzed. (Facade clone)
Uses: Venipede is a set-up sweeper that uses Coil + Speed Boost to snowball through weakened teams. Thanks to its cool typing Venipede can't be easily revenge killed by Ninjask and thanks to Turbo Boost it can beat Mew since Will-O-Wisp makes it stronger.

Name of the Pokemon: Solrock
Role(s): Defensive Pivot, Priority blocker, Hazard setter, Physical wall, Cleric (meant to be Free slot)
Type: Rock / Ghost
Abilities: Levitate / Dazzling
Stat Distribution: 105 / 90 / 105 / 55 / 75 / 110
Movepool Additions: Heal Bell, Recover, Shadow Sneak
Removed Moves: N/A
Custom Elements: N/A
Justification: Solrock can fill tons of roles due to its combination of ability and typing. It can switch in to priority users like Metagross and Ninjask, it can block Rapid Spin, it can set Stealth Rock, it can heal status, it can burn things, and it can reliably recover. It does have a lot of weaknesses and not a great physical movepool either.

Type:

Abilities: Shields Down
Stats (Meteor Form): 60 / 60 / 120 / 60 / 120 / 60 (BST: 480)
Stats (Core Form): 60 / 95 / 60 / 95 / 60 / 110 (BST: 480)
Movepool Additions: Wish, Healing Wish, Hurricane, Earth Power
Movepool Removals:
Justification: Shell smash is always a move that defines the pokemon that uses it since it's one of the strongest set-up moves in the game. I thought it would be interesting to bring such a powerful move in clean slate to see how would the metagame react. Minior is a perfect candidate for using shell smash because of his ability shields down that let him take some hits before going down. This way, it can ensure to have at least one turn of set-up without the need of a focus sash, for instance. Flying/Ground is a combo of stabs that work really good against the metagame (except against Levitate Nihi), either with the powerful combo of Acrobatics/Earthquake or the weirder Hurricane/Earth Power (which works better under Gravity). Still, minior would be really easy to revenge kill (notably by the new priority user), and it is a free switch-in for Nihilego, who can tank hits using either of its abilities.

Movepool Additions: Core Enforcer, Draco Meteor, Dragon Tail, Dragon Pulse, Heal Order, King's Shield
Movepool Removals: Heat Wave, Flare Blitz, Flamethrower, Fire Blast, Overheat, Flame Charge
Justification: Pokemon with a god-tier movepool and god-tier abilities cursed by a mediocre typing and stats. It can perform a lot of different roles, defensive or offensive, and is a great supportive teammate in general.

Movepool Additions: Leaf Blade, Solar Blade, Leaf Storm, Energy Ball, Giga Drain
Movepool Removals: Quick Attack, Work Up
Justification: This is designed to be the ultimate anti-meta revenge killer. Its combination of typing and abilities let it take over threats like Swampert and Ninjask, while it can utilize its vast movepool to hit other things like Celesteela or Nihilego.

Stat Distribution: 80 / 40 / 100 / 100 / 200 / 40 (560 BST)
Movepool Additions: Shadow Ball, Hex, Freeze-Dry
Movepool Removals: Focus Blast
Justification: We have 1 Ice-type and an Ice-type immune to Fighting(!!) is something that Raichu and most special attackers won't appreciate. Also has titanic bulk and magic bounce which allows it to dissuade most setters from laying their hazards. Should be a cool stall option with proper support.

Movepool Removals: Sticky Web
Justification: Powerful Set-up Sweeper that can attack from both ends of the spectrum while having the bulk to take many of the priority attacks of the metagame even at -1 as long as it is at full HP. However, none of its abilities are too great and it has very poor defensive typing.

Abilities: Infiltrator, Chlorophyll | Dandelion
Stat Distribution: 80/95/85/50/80/130 | 520
Movepool Additions: Stomping Tantrum, Pollen Puff
Movepool Removals: Swords Dance, Sleep Powder
Custom Elements: Dandelion: Unburden clone, doubles attack if it loses its item.
Justification:
+: extremely powerfull if successfully set up, resists most priority move, bulky, utility moves
-: need to be ran with either Tapu Bulu or M-Audino, lacks powerfull coverage, quad weakness to Ice Shard, can't set-up twice, no boosting item, isn't grounded so it doesn't get any benefits from Grassy Terrain
80/85 Physical Bulk allows Jumpluff to avoid the OHKO from LO Cacturne Poison Jab at full without SR while being OHKO without SR by LO Raichu Ice Shard.
80/80 Special Bulk allows Nihilego to always OHKO Jumpluff after SR with Venom Slam.
95 Atk allow Jumpluff to always 2HKO Toucannon withouth SR with the Dandelion boost. It also lets SpD Nihilego and no-bulk Celesteela avoid the OHKO from full after SR. It also lets Cofagrigus wall Jumpluff thanks to Mummy and Jumpluff's inability to OHKO Cofagrigus.

Movepool Additions: Brave Bird, Hurricane, Hyper Voice
Movepool Removals: Spikes, Counter, Brick Break
Custom Elements: Merry Christmas: Refrigerate+Magic Guard
Justification:
+: immunity to every hazard, can't be spinblocked, strong offensive typing, rather fast, access to priority, powerfull STAB moves
-: mediocre bulk (unable to switch into most hits), reliance on LO to score significant OHKO, trash defensive typing, lacks coverage, competition with Raichu which is faster and can pivot.
65/65/65 bulk limits Delibird ability to switch-into even weak moves.
105 Atk allows Delibird to OHKO Meganium with LO boosted Double-Edge and to OHKO Cacturne with LO boosted Fake Out/Quick Attack.
105 Spe allows Delibird to outspeed every hazard setter and Spin over them.
75 SpA allows Delibird to 2HKO M-Swampert with LO Freeze-Dry.

Justification:

-: Choice Band faces competition from Trevenant which has a better offensive typing, Pursuit weak, hard-walled by Audino
120 Atk allows Druddigon to 2HKO an uninvested Mew with Shadow Sneak.
90/90/90 bulk lets Druddigon takes several hits and allows it to have a lot of switch-in opportunity.

Some news:

Clean Slate is finally playable in full! There are a few bugs (Force of Attraction, Sharpedo doesn't get Hydro, etc) but it works! Due to this, we can now do cool stuff like:

Submit Sample Teams!
We need some sample teams (preferably after this slate) for newbies to pick up and use. Make sure to describe how the team works.

VR Discussion!
It's not very accurate... But now we can discuss it with more than theory! Nice! Here's some discussion points:
Ninjask: A- > A or A+
Meganium: B > A- or A
Celesteela: A+ > A
Poipole and Kricketune (Webs): Down
Where to Rank the New Mons

Or anything else you want to say. Subs will close tomorrow, if I'm not around for it (I may not be) lovely council members Brodaha or Scoopapa can if you annoy them.

Ninjask: A+
At least. The first playtests we've done proves that Ninjask is a threat that needs to be acknowledged. With a STABed priority that can deal between 44 and a whopping 110 and coverage against virtually anything except Cofagrigus with technician-boosted hidden power, it has almost no switch-ins and is really hard to revenge kill. It deserves at least an A+.

Ditto: A
One of the most versatile mon of the metagame. The little coverage it possess is enough to hit the most threatening walls of the meta, like Nihilego, Mega-Audino or defensive iterations of Mew. It's also a good revenge killer and probably the best spike setter of clean slate thanks to its signature items. Last but not least, his access to transform coupled to those items can completly change the direction of a game. Its only weakness is its inability to pass steel-types, especially celesteela, but coupled with good teammates, Ditto doesn't have to worry too much about them.

Ninjask: A+/S
I'm somewhat on the fence about this one but S tier is for pokemon that define the metagame; Ninjask fits that description because every team needs a bulky water and flying resist to prevent it from getting a kill every time it enters the field. You also generally need to keep these two pokemon in decent condition throughout the match in order to keep from getting picked apart by it. It does have a nice counter in the somewhat unexplored Lanturn, though. Ninjask is on the nerf radar although I'd like to see Lanturn useage explored

Mew: A+
Mew didn't quite deliver on "metagame defining", mostly because there are a lot more special attackers than physical. Of the physical attackers Metagross and Tapu Bulu are among the best, and they don't mind Mew that much. It still isn't bad and it can be a huge pain to dislodge thanks to priority Softboiled and Will-o-Wisp. It also has a lot of other sets it can run to surprise you if you're expecting Will-o-Wisp. I think it's also fair to say that there is a lot of untapped potential here.

Meganium: A-
Meganium enters the cusp of the "splashable' A tier because the metagame is pretty kind to it right now. Swampert is amazing and Meganium makes both a great teammate and counter to it. Powerful offensive water-types like Ninjask and Mega Sharpedo threaten the premier Special Wall Nihilego and Meganium takes next to nothing from their Water attacks ( Air Cutter OHKOes though ). It also proves to be a little harder to switch into than expected. It still gets bodied by a multitude of special attackers.

After a day of playtesting this is both way more accurate than theorymon and still not that accurate. Take it all with a grain of salt.

Name of the Pokemon: Infernape
Role(s): Sweeper, Setup Sweeper, Offensive Pivot, Choice Items, Priority
Type: Fire - Fighting
Abilities: Download
Stat Distribution: 75 - 100 - 70 - 100 - 70 - 110
BST: 530
Movepool Additions:
Movepool Removals:
Justification:
Infernape is a great mixed attacker who can use Nasty Plot and Swords Dance to great effect but is prone to being outsped by Raichu and Ninjask, and has weak bulk. He can use many different sets however and Download helps to improve a mixed set.

623.png

Name of the Pokemon: Jellicent
Role(s): Hazard Control, Status,
Type: Water - Ghost
Abilities: Magic Bounce
Stat Distribution: 100 - 60 - 70 - 85 - 105 - 60
BST: 480
Movepool Additions:
Movepool Removals:
Justification:
Jelli has great Hazard control thanks to Magic Bounce, along with a good support movepool that contains reliable healing in recover and Will-o-Wisp for burning.

Name of the Pokemon: Aegislash
Role(s): Setup Sweeper, Priority
Type: Steel - Ghost
Abilities:
Stance Change
Stat Distribution:
Shield Form:
50 - 50 - 120 - 50 - 120 - 50
Blade Form: 50 - 120 - 50 - 120 - 50 - 50
BST: 440
Movepool Additions: U-Turn
Movepool Removals: King's Shield
Justification: Aegislash is an interesting Pokemon that has the potential to do really well, with great defensive typing, solid stats and an okay movepool. U-Turn is also a great bonus. However lack of King's Shield makes Aegislash loose a fear factor and causes it to become a huge drain on momentum due to having to switch to Shield Form. No reliable healing and slow speed also means Aegislash can be whittled down easily.

Will finish by the next hour, please don't close submissions till then!
Edit: Finished.

Abilities: Malware* / Download / Analytic (HA)
Base Stats: 85 / 85 / 70 / 120 / 75 / 65 (500 BST)
Movepool Additions: Infestation, Leech Life
Movepool Removals: None
Custom Elements: Malware: On switch-in, this Pokemon lowers the Speed of adjacent opponents by 1 stage. (Intimidate clone)
Uses: Porygon-Z can work as a set-up sweeper with Z Conversion or Nasty Plot. Porygon-Z's new signature ability helps with its low Speed and makes setting up against faster foes easier.

Pokemon: Ariados
Roles: Hazard Setter, Wallbreaker, Physical Attacker
Type:

Abilities: Bad Dreams / Compound Eyes / Sniper (HA)
Base Stats: 70 / 110 / 70 / 45 / 70 / 105 (470 BST)
Movepool Additions: Zen Headbutt, Psycho Cut, Dream Eater, Hypnosis, Spikes, Heal Block
Movepool Removals: Swords Dance
Custom Elements: None
Uses: Ariados is a decent hazard setter (Sticky Web + Spikes) that can also cripple the foe with Hypnosis and then set up with Hone Claws. It can also wallbreak by utilizing Heal Block.

stunfisk.gif

Pokemon: Stunfisk
Roles: Hazard Control, Special Wall, Special Attacker, Hazard Setter

Abilities: Static / Dazzling / Sand Veil (HA)
Base Stats: 129 / 65 / 74 / 91 / 109 / 32 (500 BST)
Movepool Additions: Rapid Spin, Recover
Movepool Removals: None
Custom Elements: None
Uses: Stunfisk is a special wall that can set up its own Stealth Rock or remove the opponent's Stealth Rock with Rapid Spin. Thanks to its ability Dazzling it is a counter to priority spammers such as Ninjask (which turned out to be kinda broken).

venipede.gif

Pokemon: Venipede (compatible with Eviolite)
Roles: Set-Up Sweeper, Hazard Setter, Physical Attacker
Type:

dragon.gif

Abilities: Run Away / Swarm / Speed Boost (HA)
Base Stats: 30 / 115 / 109 / 30 / 89 / 77 (450 BST)
Movepool Additions: Dragon Rush, Dragon Pulse, Lunge, Coil, Earthquake, Extreme Speed, Refresh, Turbo Boost*
Movepool Removals: None
Custom Elements: Turbo Boost |
bug.gif
|
physical.png
| 70 Power | 100% Accuracy | 32 PP | Power doubles if user is burn/poison/paralyzed. (Facade clone)
Uses: Venipede is a set-up sweeper that uses Coil + Speed Boost to snowball through weakened teams. Thanks to its cool typing Venipede can't be easily revenge killed by Ninjask and thanks to Turbo Boost it can beat Mew since Will-O-Wisp makes it stronger.

Finished my subs, any feedback? (I've made a lot of Bug-types this slate since we really need them, there's only Kricketune right now and it probably sucks...)

tapulele.gif

Name of the Pokemon: Tapu Lele
Roles: Terrain Setter, Set-Up Sweeper
Type: Psychic/Bug
Abilities: Psychic Surge / Telepathy
Stat Distribution: 75/70/80/115/85/85 (BST: 510)
Movepool Additions: Quiver Dance, Bug Buzz, U-Turn
Movepool Removals: Thunderbolt, Thunder
Custom Elements: N/A
Justification: Tapu Lele would give the meta an immunity to Ninjask's priority, something that is needed. On it's own, however, Tapu Lele is a nice setup sweeper that can use it's Bug STAB in order to beat the many Dark types that would otherwise threaten it.

mrmime.gif

Name of the Pokemon: Mr. Mime (Free Slot)
Roles: Room Setter
Type: Psychic/Normal
Abilities: Magic Dimension / Wonder Dimension
Stat Distribution: 60/45/65/70/90/85 BST: 415
Movepool Additions: Hyper Voice, Recover
Movepool Removals: Nasty Plot
Custom Elements:
Magic Dimension- Drizzle Clone, Summons Magic Room for 5 Turns
Wonder Dimension- Drizzle Clone, Summons Wonder Room for 5 Turns
*Both, (as well as trick room?) are extended to 8 turns by the Protector item
Justification: Mr. Mime now has a very unique niche in the meta, as Room Setter. Magic Dimension allows it to cancel out the effects of opponent's items, such as Metal/Quick powder on Ditto, as well as Metal Powder + Gravity. Wonder Dimension is useful for defensive teams, as the constant switching of defense and special defense would annoy non-mixed attackers.

torterra.gif

Name of the Pokemon: Torterra
Roles: Hazard Setter, Physical Wallbreaker, Physical Wall, Set-Up Sweeper
Type: Grass/Ground
Abilities: Intimidate / Sap Sipper / Mold Breaker
Stat Distribution: 70/105/140/70/55/70 BST: 510
Movepool Additions: Giant Roots
Movepool Removals: N/A
Custom Elements: Giant Roots- Stealth Rock Clone, deals damage based on weakness to Grass type attacks
Justification: A new hazard! Especially useful for dealing with Swampert. It also has access to Stealth Rocks and recovery, so it should be pretty tough to take down, though it's low special defense is problematic. It can also use Swords Dance on an offensive set to blow through defensive pokemon.

(Anything not listed is 12.5%)
50%- Rhydon, Swampert, Swampert-Mega
25%- Cloyster, Trapinch, Milotic, Lanturn, Gardevoir,
6.25%- Flygon, Metagross, Swalot, Kricketune, Poipole, Celesteela, Toucannon, Cacturne,
3.125%- Meganium, Tapu Bulu

- Moonblast
- Defog
Swampert has been pretty great so far, and I have been enjoying this Bulk Up set. Stealth Rock can be used instead if you want. Ninjask is also very useful, almost always forcing a switch or getting a KO. If you can predict Meganium coming in Air cutter can OHKO. I chose to run a bulky Ditto set which is really good for transforming and setting Spikes. Flash cannon and Shadow ball deal decent damage to most things. Mew isn't the most meta-defining threat, but Will-O-Wisp is still good for physical attackers and if you're lucky you can get one off on a Swampert. Pangoro can switch in to Firium Z Bulu and then pivot to Swampert to waste the Z-Move. Flygon is your hazard control and utility pivot, it can switch into Meganium really easily and choose to pivot, recover, attack, or clear hazards. This team has been pretty successful so far but the Meta is still new so results may vary.

Some (a lot of) nominations:
291.png
A- > S
Ninjask is absurdly good right now, it singlehandedly stomps on arcehetypes such as webs and can function as a lategame sweeper by just clicking Water Shuriken. And on the topic of Water Shuriken, it's multi-hit mechanic is often in the favor of the user as the opponent is forced to play as if it will hit 3+ times lest they lose the current mon in (even if it could live a 2 hit). It even has U-Turn for momentum and Vacuum wave to prevent several possible 1v1s (cough shark) to be in favor of the bug. Super dumb mon.

260.png
A+ > S
Swampert is actually unkillable. It's bulk alongside Poison Heal and typing turns it into a tank that hits decently hard, ignores most passive damage, and doesn't give a shit about like 5/6ths of the meta. Like hell Mega Shark's Hydro only does like 40% and Pert OHKOes back, that's fucked up!

260-m.png
A+ > B- or C+
Poor baby, no reason to trade slightly more bulk and power for a significant loss of recovery and passive damage vulnerability. Bad mon, maybe if Gravity is big it might have use as a counter but as of now it's ass

112.png
675.png
733.png
A > B+
These all aren't close to as good in practice as they are on paper. Rhydon suffers from Ninjask and Swampert being the best mons in the meta, but outside of that it's still bulky as hell physically and switches into Nihilego for days and sets rocks on it which is super cool.
Pangoro's dual STABs just don't do much in this meta.
Toucannon has to compete with Pert as a Poison Heal pivot and is a totally unreliable wall when rocks are up and its orb hasn't triggered yet.

171.png
A+ > A
Beats Ninjask which is cool, loses to Swampert really hard which sucks. Solid A tier imo

026.png
S > A+
Awesome speed tier but we live in the Water Shuriken meta, hasn't really shown itself to be comparable to Ninjask in terms of offensive pressure to be with it in S with it. Still really cool tho

151.png
S > A+
What a twist! Bulu, Swampert and Metagross all beat it, so it's not a great wall. But boosting sets are actually really cool! And it has a huge movepool so the potential is there

317.png
A > A
Not really a nom but just saying that this Swalot set is the good one:
Swalot @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Cheek Pouch
EVs: 172 Def / 252 SpA / 84 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Belch
- Recycle
- Dark Pulse
- Giga Drain
Speed creeps Swampert for Giga Drain, rest in dumped into SpA and Defense.
OHKOes Metagross while avoiding the 2HKO in return

709.png
Rank at A
Substitute Bulk Up with Harvest Sitrus is a very good balance breaker, especially considering you don't have any 4MSS cuz your STABs hit everything you need already. Z-Forest's Curse isn't good tho

319-m.png
A- > B+
Can't really function with a meta that naturally beats it

328.png
B+ > B- or even lower
It doesn't trap anything notable. It's quite sad, really.

154.png
B > A
Suprisingly consistent wall that beats Bulu and Swampert, 2 very important things to beat. Also, Parting Shot is awesome.

132.png
Rank at A+
Amazing speed tier (the best, really) and cool movepool + hazards makes this a great asset for offense. Also deceptively ok bulk for tanking a Water Shuriken (fuck Ninjask). I stand by Transform not being standard (gleam/tspikes is very nice to have) but being able to transform into Nihilego and pop off a free recover/spin is a cool tech. Awesome mon

282.png
Rank at B
Imagine being weak to water and semi-weak to Nihilego in this meta, at least Rhydon cucks Nihilego but this needs some Calm Minds in order to really function and that's hard to do when you invite in Swampert.

319.png
B+ to B-
Maybe one day Ninjask will be nerfed...

You know there is a problem where the base Swampert performs better than its Mega. Maybe have the Mega Swampert to focus more on offensive pressure with a better Ability than Sand Stream, as Mega Swampert is not even a Rock-type thus cannot benefit the Special Defense Boost.

Trapinch is literally useless and desperately needs to be buffed, same with Poipole and Mega Swampert.

Trapinch is too slow to creep any walls, it is too frail to take any strong neutral attack and it just doesn't fit on teams. Poipole has a poor Speed, low bulk and despite having 123 mixed offenses and Adaptability it gets easily walled by Steel types and checked by anything that can take a hit from it, such as Swampert or Rhydon. It has a terrible offensive STAB combination and no good coverage attacks. Mega Swampert is just outclassed by regular Swampert.

Continuing from my previous post, here's my suggestion on how Mega Swampert should work in this Pet Mod to have a reason to be used over its normal form. If this is not the correct time to suggest the buffs, I will let it here as a mere example.

Example only
swampert-mega.gif

Base Stats: 100 HP / 130 ATK / 110 DEF / 70 SpA / 125 SpD / 70 Spe (BST: 600)
Ability: Sand Stream > Water Build
(Water Build: Flower Veil clone. Water-type Pokémon on the user's side (inculding the user itself if it is also Water-type) cannot have their stat stages lowered by other Pokemon or have a major status condition inflicted into them by other Pokemon.)
Intended Niche: This allows Mega Swampert to not worry about Burn, Poison/Toxic or Sleep (or the rare Freeze) and Intimidate. This means that Mega Swampert will not have to worry about these so problematic status conditions like normal Swampert will never worry about but also can greatly screw up Intimidate users and enemy's Sticky Web as its Bulk Up boost will never decrease. Its increased Special Bulk allows it to tank and even revenge kill the likes of Shedinja and Gardevoir much better, but it remains a bit slow outside of Trick Room, lacked viable recovery methods and remains 4x vulnerable to Grass moves.

If this sounds too powerful or still underwhelming, let me know about this.
