Complain about your stupid and probably insignificant problems

I don't like people who have way higher expectations for female characters than male characters and then complain when they're not met.
I know its a movie, but Princess Mononoke has alot of good female characters. Actually in general Miyazaki has alot of good female characters in his movies.
Doesn't the same apply for male characters?

Thanks for the suggestions, really wasn't looking for a response though. Just saying that it bugged me. I'm sure there exists solid female anime characters, I just feel like it lacks in comparison to other mediums

I have honestly never met a single person with your complaint who would accept the same qualifications for a male character as a female character.
Well I dont think of it as me having separate qualifications, I think I have the same qualifications but male characters hit the mark more often then female characters ... like alot more often. You could blame it on there being more main/important male characters or something but I'm not intentionally setting a higher bar for female characters.
Although I am biased to noticing the flaws more often for female anime characters now cause I am looking out for that stuff.

What bugs me is when people criticize the living fuck out of someone's opinions and gripes without realizing that they're only expressing what the feeling, that they can't actually change, is without expecting confirmation or kudos for doing so.

What bugs me is when I can't have an opinion about other people's opinions but then the person telling me that is voicing a very strong opinion about my opinion. This is usually referred to as hypocrisy.
I hate it when moderators do shit that they know they wouldn't let people do to them. If I said this to you you'd delete the post and infract me, don't even try to deny it.
to clear up this confusion, jorgen, 1¥ is basically our equivalent 1c, not our equivalent $1. so yen are roughly as strong as dollars, not 100 times weaker

Ok figured I'd post here since I needed somewhere to vent and maybe I'll get some useful advice. I'm sorta getting sick of my current group of friends. For a while now I've been feeling like I know them a lot better than they know me, and that they really don't care to learn much about me. In general, I don't feel too close to the group despite being a part of it for a long time. I'd like to leave the friend group and make some new friends, but I'm pretty socially inept (I can have conversations w/ people and all, but I'm just not too good at making new friends) and I don't really have any clubs or something that I could use to make a whole new set of school friends, especially when it's already like halfway through highschool.
I'm not some friendship guru or anything, but have you tried looking for stuff outside of school?
I go to a church group thing but I don't really feel too connected to that. I did rowing for a bit but I had to quit due to cost. I auditioned for an acting thing recently but I'm not sure if I was accepted or not. Outside of those, not really. For the most part my time ends up getting taken up too much for me to really try those options, or I don't have money to join different things, or I just end up not being able to approach people since they're usually all in groups and I'm the only one nobody knows.

legitimate complaint: i need to find a better way to motivate myself to push forward with schoolwork. i still get through everything fine but i could be getting a lot more sleep if i was more diligent.... halp
i had the same problem for the majority of high school. my advice is to take things one step at a time. i know it sounds cliche, but if you focus only on completing the objective that's right in front of you, and try to forget about the other work ahead, you will be able to motivate yourself much easier. in my experience, a mug of strong coffee also helps immensely.
This isn't the kind of thing I rant about in real life since it sounds like I'm trying to pick up girls, but it honestly DOES bug me when dudes very clearly treat females like objects. Aside from being obviously disrespectful to the females in question, it's just a greater symptom of other traits I hate, such as taking yourself way too seriously and/or being an enormous, self-indulgent douchebag. I have friends who are dudes, I have friends who are chicks, it's really not that different.
I kind of agree with Snkz too, but there have been a few good ones (the aforementioned San from Princess Mononoke, Celty from Durarara!, Minori from Toradora!, pretty much the whole cast of Haibane Renmei).
