[Pros]

It has an incredible offensive ability, with the movepool to support it.

Its high Special Attack and large movepool make it a very threatening special attacker.

[Cons]

It is incredibly slow, which severely hampers its sweeping potential.

It is fairly frail, and due to its low Speed, has difficulty performing as a usable glass cannon.

[Set Recommendations]

name: Special Sweeper
move 1: Water Pulse / Scald
move 2: Aura Sphere
move 3: Ice Beam
move 4: Dark Pulse / U-turn
ability: Mega Launcher
item: Choice Specs / Life Orb
evs: 164 HP / 252 SAtk / 92 Spe
nature: Modest Nature (+SpA, -Atk)

Clawitzer's only redeeming quality is its high Special Attack. When coupled with its ability, Mega Launcher, Clawitzer becomes a fearsome force, getting a boost to Water Pulse, Aura Sphere, and Dark Pulse. Scald is an alternative option to Water Pulse, being able to burn Clawitzer's checks, but the drop in power is fairly noticeable and should be taken into consideration. U-turn serves as a reliable way to gain momentum, as well as getting chip damage on more reliable counters to Clawitzer. Dark Pulse helps complete Clawitzer's coverage, while also getting a boost from its ability Mega Launcher, and as result is generally favored over U-turn. Choice Specs bolsters Clawitzer's already high Special Attack, with Life Orb offering slightly less power and the ability to change attacks at the cost of longevity.

The Speed EVs on Clawitzer allows it to outspeed unboosted base 70s, with the rest of the EVs focusing on power and bulk. Clawitzer greatly appreciates Sticky Web support, helping to augment its low Speed. Excadrill and Aegislash also serve as excellent partners, as they are able to reliably handle special walls and bulky Fairy-type Pokemon such as Sylveon. Similarly, Mega Gengar serves as a good partner, being able to trap and kill most wpecial walls and Fairy-types.

[Checks and Counters]

Special walls such as Blissey, Chansey, and Goodra serve as excellent counters to Clawitzer, being able to reliably wall all sets. Similarly, bulky Fairy-type Pokemon such as Sylveon serve as excellent counters. Fast Electric-type Pokemon such as Zapdos and Heliolisk serve as good checks, being able to threaten Clawitzer with STAB Electric-type attacks. Rotom-W serves as a particularly good check, being able to resist Clawitzer's STAB while threatening back with STAB Volt Switch. In general, Clawitzer struggles against fast offensive teams, as it lacks the bulk to stomach most attacks and is outsped by a majority of these teams.

I know Dragon Pulse gets basically no coverage, but a 127 BP move with only one resistance and one immunity can come in handy, so maybe it could be mentioned in Other Options?

Also, mention Sticky Web, because it lets Clawitzer outrun a handful of mons that would otherwise give it trouble, such as Rotom, Tyranitar and Scizor.

Added sticky web mention.

Really not sure about adding Dragon Pulse anywhere, as Clawitzer already has a lot of contention for its 4 moveslots in terms of pure coverage and as result always seems to be a subpar move choice. Will test it a bit though.

edit: added slash of Scald. However I am keeping it as a secondary slash as it does have a fairly significant power drop.

No Scald slash? If it gets the same important OHKO/2HKOes with Water Pulse it could even be the superior option.

Clawitzer @ Choice Specs / Life Orb
Ability: Mega Launcher
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SAtk / 4 Spe
Modest Nature

Clawitzer's only redeeming quality is its very high Special Attack. When coupled with its ability, Mega Launcher, Clawitzer becomes a fearsome force, (AC) getting a boost to Water Pulse, Aura Sphere, and Dark Pulse. U-turn serves as a reliable way to gain momentum, as well as getting chip damage on more reliable counters to Clawitzer. I think this thing should be compared to Mega Blastoise, because ALL of its stats are higher than Clawitzer. Why use it over Blastoise?

It has an item slot. Blastoise has to use its mega item. Offensively, Clawitzer is therefore arguably better (only arguably because it's defensively compromised, so offensive punch doesn't mean much if it faints before it can attack).

im the only one thinking he should atleast run enough speed evs to outspeed base 70 pokemons? preety much every wall outspeeds him and he doesnt like to take that many hits before making an attack imo

an ev spread of 160hp,252spa and 96 speed would let him outspeed base 70 pokemons that dont invest in speed so you can get a choice specs hit before taking another, you outspeed things like scizor, skarmory, jellicent, vaporeon, and the likes i think those 96 speed evs are really worth it imo

thanks for the EV spread! Took away 4 from Speed and put them into HP to not have any speed creeping in the analysis. Updated~~

nice to see you liked my spread i usualy add 4 extra evs for random pokemons that like to put 4 speed evs randomly :P but yeah that is perfect, considering if its for shure that he has 59 base speed since on serebii he has 59 on shodown he has 63

no mention of assault vest? it's one of the better users of it seeing that it has enough damage output even with a defensive item
