Conspiracy Theories

What we know about almost everything is false or at best unverifiable. Basic example: what happens if you stab yourself in the head what will happen? You'll die, right? But have you ever stabbed yourself in the head? The reason we believe we will die si because people tell us we will. How do we know pain is a bad thing, or space is real for fucks sake? I'm not saying everything we know is a lie but everything is potentially a lie and you should live life to enjoy it, not for some arbitrary accomplishments or to "leave your mark". I guess this is more philosophical than this thread was meant to be but I guess I believe many conspiracy theories are true, and there is probably a group similar to the illuminati as we interpret them.

Two good ones.

1) Donald Trump was a liberal plant Hillary Clinton was a conservative plant to get Hillary Clinton Donald Trump elected.

2) Upon Mike Pence becoming the Republican nominee for vice president, the ultra conservative Right rallied hard to get Trump elected so he can be impeached later (once he fails to deliver on any promises/is too bogged down in lawsuits to function properly) by an all-Republican congress and replaced with a real Republican.

OJ was innocent. His son committed the murder but OJ shifted the blame to himself.

Also Elvis faked his death but died 3 months later in a skiing accident. I don't have any basis for this but I still believe it.

I am open to the moon landing being faked and I am totally convinced somebody in the Ramsey family killed Jonbenet.
I also believe Haunter was framed.

I believe OJ is innocent and his son is the one who did it all.

I don't also neccessarily believe in it, but I love to kinda think about Last Thursdayism because it's honestly pretty mind boggling.

The entire election was a fraud, and Trump was supposed to win from the beginning, as well as divide conservatives and progressives, so when Trump has to step down/gets impeached due to lawsuits, failing to deliver his promises, and just pissing off the majority who got the popular vote by 2.6 million and counting by pandering to special interests. Then Pence can take over, and instate a Dominionist Christian fundamentalist government, and if necessary declare martial law if progressives don't want to play nice and become one big Conservative Christian Family.
And the Democrats played a part in this too, dangling what was needed in front of us, only to have it snatched away. Poor Sanders thought that if he made a deal with the Democratic establishment, he could get the essentials he wanted, but didn't expect Trump to actually win.
That, or it was rigged against Hillary when the Illuminati feared that they would have to wrestle over her with Sander's supporters, so they rigged it against her, hoping that his voters would keep the progressives off his back long enough while they played him like a fiddle. Even the Russians are now a part of it.

Moving the discussion from the election thread into this thread.

How do you prove that white people are not superior?
I don't want stuff like political correctness.
I want statistics and anthropological studies.

Because no one has "proven that white people ARE superior". Entire fields that were invented to make that argument have since been shown to be pseudoscientific.

If you're interested in reading on scientific racism a good place to start would be the works of Franz Boas, basically the father of American Anthropology and one of the earliest people to come out against the mainstream opinion that race was biological. He's also credited with inventing the concept of salvage ethnography. His hypothesis that human differences in behavior were based on culture still stands to this day.

A more modern example is The Bell Curve: Intelligence and Class Structure in American Life. It argued that intelligence was biological. It got torn apart for calling itself scientific after refusing to do peer reviews and for lots of inconsistencies in the data and the methods used to analyze it. The modern scientific consensus is that:

A: IQ tests are not a good measurement of "Intelligence".
B: IQ tests are almost entirely dependent on the quality of someone's childhood education.
C: No correlation has been found between race and IQ.

the concept of intelligence is such a nebulous thing to define anyways

what determines if someone is "smart"? their factual recall? their logical thinking? their creativity and ability to form new ideas? their pattern recognition?

there's a lot of ways for people to be considered intelligent and it's almost certainly a crapshoot, biology has nothing to do with it

on another note, it was definitely OJ's son lmao
