I don't know if there's a thread for this already, but if there is, direct me to it and I'll lock this one.

Anyway, DCUO became free to play about a week ago. It's had a ton of connectivity issues since f2p was launched that are getting smoothed out, but overall it's the most fun of the few MMOs I've played so far. What do you guys think?

Free to play unless you like to buy things. Or have guilds.

And I can't live out my fantasy of being Guan Yu with what little variety they have in powers, so yeah... really wasn't worth the three hour installation.

Hmm...the lack of variety in powers is somewhat of a let down, but having the powers split into roles and having additional skills through weapons (all of which every character can access at level 10, regardless of their power) and movement abilities have tided me over. I suppose I just enjoy the simplicity of spreading points for those powers over 30 levels compared to having to grind to levels 50 and up to get the stuff that actually makes my class shine.

I have enjoyed the game so far. I got the DLC for 10$ and its great how light skills can combo up with each other. It seems that most issues have died down(at least on the PC. I have played both). Also its great how you have limited Power points (15) but additional skill points(for weapons/Movements(Movement abilities dont seem that great. i have been putting extras into the stat increasing abilities for weapons)) can be earned through completing feats.

Well, it was free for the PS3, so why not. I decided it might at least give a week or so of fun.

Oh my god what a bump

But az and I tried it a while back and it changes your costume when you put on the equipment which is a nonstarter for nerds like me who get really into the flavor of games like this. I am definitely more interested in having a cool costume than having +3 atk, but ideally the equipment would not affect my awesome costume...

Eh, I've seen 8+ year necros on some forums.

And yeah, that was really stupid. What's the point in even customizing your starting gear when it changes the moment you put something on?

The Style tab (appears at the bottom of the screen when you enter your Inventory or Skills, etc.) allows you to change whatever you are wearing to any style of armor or clothing you have collected and keep the stats boost of your equipped armor. In addition, there is a "lock" function under that tab that locks in your current costume so that is not changed when you equip armor (otherwise, it will automatically change your armor to what you have just equipped.)

Tried to name him Deadpool. No go.

I always love free things! so sure I love this game..
I'm playing it a lot since to became free, awesome game..

Best line I've heard yet:

"Hey, come with my group, we're camping the villains at their spawn and killing anyone who comes out."
"Aren't we supposed to be the Heroes in this game?

Yeah, I kinda got sick of all the grinding in this game, but hey, it gave me fun for about 8 hours, and that's a good amount for a free game.
