Disconnecting in Global Link matches

I haven't had a single DC in Rated mode, and I've gone up against... maybe two American players there.

Expect there to be more disconnects towards the end of June in the rated battles as I can tell some are serious about maintaining their ranking on the GBU for bragging purposes. I had just defeated a Japanese player with an 1848 rating and surely enough the battle didn't get saved after I took down his final pokemon as I'm sure he was disgusted about some certain misplays on his part.

Oh my god. I hate these guys so much. I have so much to say about this and not enough time to type all my feelings right now.
I know it's going to be hard for Nintendo to do something about this, but AT LEAST, PLEASE I hope they do this:
Even if the D/C'er doesn't drop in rating and get a loss, the person they D/C'ed against should get a win.
Of course, if this happened, everyone would be toting around a 1800 ranking in everything, but if 1800 became the average then the good players would still surpass it quicker than the less skilled and less lucky ones.
Currently, I have 7 wins. Yesterday alone, I played 25 battles and added ... ONE win to my card despite winning every single battle. That means 4% of the people I battled did not ragequit.
There are over a million people on the PGL. There are around 40-50 thousand honourable people, but the rest are quitters? Rating mode disconnecting sucks.

I sincerely hope this is fixed in season 2, because most North American people will play through that season as it is summer vacation in the US and Canada, I know I'll play more often. If it is not fixed this season, I will be thoroughly disappointed in the players, and in the company.

In unrated matches 95% of Japanese players disconnect when they see something that either walls them or surprises them. I hate it when I get paired up with a Japanese player. It doesn't help that most of the people available are Japanese.

Really? all the matches I play are unrated and I'm sure I've walled / surprised a few Japanese players...

Do you think it has something to do with the pokemon an individual player uses? My team is mostly OUs.

This is a funny statement, not because it's wrong but specifically because it's accurate. People really will use dishonest means to get a result they can show off, even though they could just make something up. This suggests that they need to have the result right in front of them to convince themselves that they earned it, which itself suggests that they are that kind of persons so thoroughly lacking in integrity and self-esteem that they boost themselves by lies. It's similar to the people who used Wondertomb in Gen IV to get the last star on their trainer card, only worse because DCers inconvenience others, and do battles that could not possibly cause as much aggravation as the Battle Tower did.

Im pretty sure this is the #2 reason people disconnect.no one wants to see the same standard bullshit 3 times in a row.

There are a couple different "personalities" I see in MMORPGs or games like Pokemon with very interactive, MMO-like qualities:

1) There are people who want to win or do well in the most efficient way possible, without regards to creativity. These are the people that pick the best gear (Or pokemon) and constantly find ways to make a sleeker, streamlined, more efficient team. They find beauty in doing better and better.

2) There are people who want to have the most creative, diverse team that they conceived by themselves. They don't value wins as much as using their favorite Pokemon/weapons/whatever, and prefer what's cool to what is effective. They find beauty in innovation.

They are always thought of as competing views, yet they are both just means to enjoying the game. You cannot win an argument between these two. You cannot say "Using your favorite pokemon is idiotic and useless" or "Using an unoriginal team is bland and lame." They are just worldviews, personalities, moods, however you want to think of them.

To tie back into the message I quoted: The people who are disconnecting on you have absolute no fucking right to do that under the pretense that "I don't like his cookie-cutter party" any more than people would if they DC'd with the thought that "I don't like his weak, kiddy team." This is not Nazi Germany or Soviet Russia, where the rules people lived under are evil and inescapable, and need to be changed. The GBU is a metagame you go into knowing that 600 BST Pokemon, OU Pokemon, and the like are all allowed. Don't be a prick and DC on folks like Iamslow.

You don't truly appreciate creativity if you're the person who needs a sparkling wincount for self-validation on a team that you "made in the spirit of innovation and originality" You're not any different in that case than the guy who doesn't have any qualms about running a team full of the 600 club, except that at least the person who runs the super-OU team isn't lying to himself.

EDIT: To clarify, I am not specifically a sympathizer with the "efficient, sleek" crowd. Most of the teams I have made have been made out of gimmicks and favorite Pokemon. But it disgusts me to see people thinking that that is the only way, that people who like efficiency are inferior and inherently poor players.

Here is another way I look at the activities on random wifi.

Does it win me any 3DS, invites to champion events or a trip to either Japan, Hawaii or New York? Not at all.

Does it even win me any money? No

I was wondering if anyone could help me. I was trying to play the random battle on my white version and it connects and everything but when I pick ranked or un ranked it doesn't work for some reson anyone know what I could do?

Well yea but the un ranked one says somthing like error about something

Try again tomorrow, after the Pokemon Global Link maintenance is over. While it's supposed to only affect Ranked Matches, it could be messing with you anyways.

If it still doesn't work after the maintenance is done, then it's definitely something else and we can work from there.

Alright ill do that. I thought I was cuz I have pokegend pokes on my black version (not the ones I was using) so I got white and its complely hack free so I don't see any possable problems

Hmm Season 2 started today. Hopefully things get better.

BTW, how do I check my Season 1 final ranking? I hope I made it to the top 100.

@wDro: according to serebii, the season 1 final rankings should be up after the July 12 maintenance in 2 weeks.

Mah god, if you were rewarded from people D/Cing on you, I'd have more over 1000+ wins in Random right now. Right now I have 914 wins.

Seriously, if these people are going to disconnect when a move misses, then Pokemon just isn't for them.

No improvement against Disconnectors. What the fuck, game freak.

I fought 3 battles against some Spanish dude with a stupid symbol in hir name some o with a dot in the middle.
I fought 1 battle against some English dude, Karson.
How did I win?

In BOTH cases, my Porygon2 Traces their Togekiss and manages to freeze with Ice Beam. (Serene Grace lol)
All I'm thinking is: "My Porygon2's awesome, DEAL WITH IT."
And THEN they disconnect at the last Pokemon.

-.- Assholes.

What the hell. All my hopes were dashed on any improvements made after the update. Nintendo, I am so mad at you.

My story is not like opkil's. I cannot find one single person who does not disconnect when I beat them. NOT EVEN ONE. No miss hax, no serene grace hax, no weather, just normal pokemon with normal movesets and imperfect ivs.

This is frustrating. Like I said, my ranking is frozen, because I can never record a win. Honestly, the chance of finding a win on ranking mode is like the chance of finding a shiny pokemon in the first wild encounter of route 101. Change needs to happen, this is just infuriating.

Oh yes, another story:
My opponent is leading 3-1, and when all hope is lost for me, I make a comeback with SD Scizor. 1-1, I OHKO Weavile (not 'Sashes, at least I saw SOME originality here), and they D/C.
I KNOW they weren't going to disconnect, because they knew they were going to win, but when I knocked their last Pokemon, they D/C. Against an American, no less. Go figure.

3 disconnects in a row....thats alot for me...combine that with the stream of loses i had after that...I had a horrible day today...it really gets me pissed even though i know its just a game and have accepted the fact that nothing happens if i win or lose.

Moral of the short story:
