Heatran @ Chople Berry
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Magma Storm
- Explosion
- Hidden Power Fighting
- Taunt

Just thought this might be a good trapper for a hail team. He can trap and heavily damage Tyranitars with HP Fighting, as well as Clefable and Blissey. With these Pokemon eliminated it can greatly help out Abomasnow and Walrein. Pair them with a Tentacruel or Latias and life will good.

Wouldn’t leftovers be better over Chople given how Jirachi can take advantage of the hail chip? I’ve tried building Walrein teams, but Walrein to me is a dying herald of an old age once Clefable knocked off every old mon off the cliff.

Chople is there in order to cover the use case of Scarf Tars switching in and preventing the Superpower KO. We don't really need Leftovers since Heatran's survivability isn't really a priority here.

In my opinion Walrein is a beast when he is working properly and in the right situation.

Sorry for the double post but something else came to mind:

Zapdos @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 248 HP / 228 Def / 32 Spe
Bold Nature
- Charge
- Thunderbolt
- Toxic
- Roost

Charge on Zapdos turns him into a fantastic special wall, as well as doubles his Thunderbolt output. Toxic is there for Grounds and Latias but probably could be swapped with another move if desired. Biggest threat to this Zapdos would be status (or Earthquakes on predicted Roosts). Nidoqueen is a perfect counter.

Rotom-Heat @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 8 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Charge
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power Grass
- Pain Split

I think this would be the only other guy in the tier able to run Charge. Outside of Tyranitar, Rotom mainly despises special attacks, so the Charge SpDef boost would help him out there. HP Grass is there for Grounds.

Hariyama is a niche and difficult pokemon to use since he doesn't offer many resistances to a team and because he is very slow. The entire metagame outruns him. Paralysis or Trick Room support can help him, but he still has trouble competing for a team slot.

Hariyama has a lot of flexibility in terms of EVs. He doesn't need to invest in attack EVs, but he has the ability to use them. He doesn't need to use HP EVs since his HP is already high, but he still has the ability to use some. He also has the option of using a Careful nature to make him more durable after a Bulk Up.

Hariyama @ Leftovers
Ability: Guts
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 Def / 252 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Ice Punch / Payback
- Payback / Stone Edge
- Revenge / Force Palm / Close Combat
- Bulk Up

After a Bulk Up, this Hariyama has 429 HP, 456 attack, 328 defense, and 219 special defense. This makes him bulkier than Relaxed 252 HP / 6 Atk / 252 Def Swampert. With his type coverage and bulk, he can be threatening to offense teams and stall.

Without a bulk up, a lot of pokemon are going to have trouble OHKOing him. This allows him to check random pokemon. Against offense, he's tanky enough to survive a hit from random pokemon and KO them back.

Tanks Mixed Dragonite's Draco Meteor.

252+ SpA Life Orb Dragonite Draco Meteor vs. 0 HP / 252 SpD Hariyama: 294-346 (68.5 - 80.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

Tanks Choice Band Dragonite's Outrage after a Bulk Up.

252+ Atk Choice Band Dragonite Outrage vs. +1 0 HP / 252 Def Hariyama: 237-280 (55.2 - 65.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

Personally, I’d invest a bit into Yama’s speed, 88 Evs into speed to be precise. Mainly to out speed an uninvested Clef

This is completely theory since Role Play's effect goes away upon switchout, but using Role Play to switch abilities can potentially be useful. One use case would be Latias switching abilities with a Tyranitar (I'm using Latias since Tyranitar is a common switch-in), which would open up a weather team. Obviously this wouldn't work since the ability is regained once Tyranitar switches out. Perhaps we can alter the game mechanic to buff this move?
