I just hate these kind of comments, seriously does that even matters? He's a fucking alien who coincidentally looks like a human with white skin and has fucking gigantic eyes like everybody else in almost every anime.
But yeah, this movie is going to blow. I had some hope for it, I didn't care if they wouldn't follow the entire story correctly, that's just impossible, it'll be too long. I didn't mind if they twicked the story a bit, but what I'm seeing right now is just making me cry inside as a fan of the series.
Why do you hate those types of comments, I just have a problem with it because Goku is not white and he resembles to be a lot more asian than white imo. Although, now looking at it, him being white isn't what I'm exactly annoyed about.
What I'm annoyed about is what inevitably is going to be joked about in this movie and just about every movie containing a main character similar to this in an asian/american action movie. They joke about some shit to his teacher that, "o... your going to teach me about karate huuu haaa yeaooo!" and say some kind of annoying stereotype about asian martial arts that offends the hell out of me. They treat as if every asian martial art such as, Kung Fu or Muay Thai, was an exact synonym to Karate.
You never hear them confusing boxing with Kung Fu, but I don't know maybe it's just me and my paranoid pet peeve ^^.
Why don't you just, I don't know, not watch it?
Bio-Broly and the entirety of GT didn't exactly do the series justice, but I'm not going to kill anyone over it.
O I see what you did there your trying to insult me thinking that makes you sound cool. At least GT followed the characters and story enough to be considered in the Dragon Ball Series. This movie on the other hand, changes the whole freaking thing to a futuristic crappier version of Forbidden Kingdom and slapped on the Dragon Ball name on the title. Yeah it was a little extreme to say I would kill him, but I would at least yell at the bastard or something to express my extreme freaking dislike.
Can you just let me voice my opinion at how much I hate this movie, I wasn't just going to write 2 lines of how much I didn't like this movie, I was going to write a couple of fucking paragraphs about how much I hate this movie to get my point across.
They are totally trying to sell this crap to stupid ass kids, instead of the people who actually have heard of what Dragon Ball was about and how much better it is than this shit. But yeah, at least you agree with what my main point was :/.
The good:
James Marsters (Spike from Buffy) is Piccolo
The bad:
Master Roshi looks all wrong.
Yeah... he does...
Did anyone else think they were watching a Star Wars trailer for a few seconds?
ME!!! MEEEE =O!!!!!
I'm a VERY bad DB/DBZ fan and this "movie" pisses me off. I understand that the special effects would be hard to do properly BUT they could of AT LEAST stayed true to the characters...I mean come on, Roshi doesnt even have a beard!
Or at least take off the Dragon Ball name since they want to change the entire thing to some alien invasion/action version of Twilight.
At first when people were complaining about the whole Goku being white thing, I was in agreement with them. I mean it just didn't make sense! But then I realized, Goku was never fucking asian. He's an alien! How does it make any more sense for him to be played by an asian guy than by a white guy?
Well yeah, but the problem is he doesn't even look like Goku.
If he was white and actually looked something like Goku then I would be fine with it, but this kid looks like the dude from Twilight or the Hills or some shit like that. He looks more like a stressed out scrawny teenager rather than a care free monkey alien. Also, Goku does look more asian than anything, but that's just in my opinion.
And since when the hell did Goku go to high school by the way? He's supposed to be a kid in Dragon Ball, same with Chi-Chi >_>.
The movie probably will too, but it has less of a chance of doing so because they aren't tying themselves strictly to the source.
Obviously, it would be close to impossible to create an actually good real version of Dragon Ball or any of the Dragon Ball series, but them not tying them self to the "source" (which I assume your referring to the Dragon Ball series xD) is exactly the problem. If they wanted to make a movie different from Dragon Ball, then why don't they call it something else =/?
I don't know, maybe it will be close to something of a decent movie, it's just the way they are telling the story sucks giant ass donkey balls ;>_>.
