Dream World CCAT (Signups for laddering!)

Standard Jirachi: As I stated in my nomination, the standard set of Jirachi provides the team with much needed support to help facilitate a sweep from one of the team's other powerhouses.
Ferrothorn: Same basic purpose as Jirachi. It provides a different set of resistances that Jirachi that the team could need.
Empoleon: It has unique resistances, but it adds a third electric weakness to the team and doesn't provide the extremely helpful paralysis support. (However, Meloetta already does some, so that's not too big of an issue.)

Yeah, now that I've thought about it, Ferrothorn is probably a better fit that Empoleon. We can still fight the odd Kingdra with it, while Rain Volc is finding it hard to set up on the team anyway. Just one thing though, if we do use Ferrothorn, I would suggest that we replace something on it with Thunder Wave for some paralysis support.

Welcome to the team, Ferrothorn! Alright, with that, we now have 6 Pokemon -- a complete team. At this point, we're going to start laddering with our team at the moment. Anybody is free to take it out for a spin; all you need to do is leave your name, alt, and ladder standing at the bottom. We're trying to build the most competitive team with Meloetta possible, and laddering with the team is a great way to try that out. Here is an example of a registration:

K so from what I've gathered so far, this team is fairly effective but I hate the fact that it is relatively slow. Fastest mon is Meoletta in the fighting forme at 372 speed which doesn't even outspeed +1 Dragonite with max speed neutral nature and that is a major problem, considering he can set up on Keldeo and Politoed locked in rather easily. Ferrothorn with Thunderwave could fix this or even using something with priority (Dragonite itself, Breloom, Mamoswine lol). Having one fighting resist really sucks too. Btw I'm playing on PO server cause I can't login to SU so I haven't been able to face Chand, Garchomp and other threats. I also changed Keldeo and Politoed's Hydro Pump to Surf, because I fucking hate that move.

Since I passed 1300 (SO GOOD RIGHT???) I figured I'd post my changes to the team that have helped me.

Politoed (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Drizzle
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Hidden Power [Grass]
- Perish Song

No changes, though I have considered using Timid a couple of times.

Meloetta @ Expert Belt
Trait: Serene Grace
EVs: 64 Atk / 252 SAtk / 192 Spd
Hasty Nature (+Spd, -Def)
- Relic Song
- Close Combat
- Thunder
- Hidden Power [Ice]

Sometimes it works, sometimes it fails miserably. I have considered switching this to any poison type (maybe Toxicroak or something) because Toxic Spikes have been a big issue.

Dragonite (F) @ Choice Band
Trait: Multiscale
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Outrage
- ExtremeSpeed
- Aqua Tail
- Earthquake

Changed Terrak to this because having 3 fighting pokemon (Meloetta is counted as one) is overkill. Also needed something to tank Sun teams and who better than Dragonite? The team was dreadfully slow too (Meloetta the fastest at 372) so ExtremeSpeed really helps there.

Keldeo @ Leftovers
Trait: Justified
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Substitute
- Calm Mind
- Surf
- Secret Sword

Kept this set, I really like it, Sub is just a beast in this tier.

Latias (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 92 HP / 164 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Calm Mind
- Psyshock
- Dragon Pulse
- Substitute

Since Sub is so beastly I'm using it here too. Weird set yeah but after losing to a bunch of random Toxics/Burns I decided to use it. So far so good as long as Tar is dead.

Ferrothorn (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 88 Def / 168 SDef
Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Gyro Ball
- Stealth Rock
- Leech Seed
- Power Whip

Changed Shed Shell to Leftovers because I'm playing on the PO server and Chand is banned there heh. Also Ferro can't tank at all without Lefties :(

So those are my changes. Maybe they can help you guys out too!

Okay, two games in and I'm seeing quite a major weakness - Serperior. It outspeeds pretty much everything on the team and just Leaf Storms most things to oblivion. Politoed can't revenge kill it unless it's weakened, and Latias can't stand up to +2 Leaf Storm spamming snakes. It may be of use to get ourselves like a Genesect or something. Also, Forretress really annoys this team. With Ferrothorn there, it can easily just switch in, set up hazards, Rapid Spin stuff away and just be annoying. This team is quite entry hazard weak.

Hey guys. Sorry about the long wait, but I'm glad you all have been able to ladder with the team and test it out. Right now, shrang is dead on -- we're very Serperior weak. Additionally, we have a hard time with entry hazards; it seems a Rapid Spin user may be very helpful for us. ala's use of Timid is justified, so maybe we should consider Timid Politoed to revenge kill +1 Dragonite. Double Dance Terrakion is great against what was a sand-centralized metagame... But it's become much more balanced, so maybe we should consider another Pokemon in its place. A Choice Scarf user may be justified as well, as we'd definitely love to have a revenge killer. Thundurus is somewhat of a problem, but a Choice Scarf user should definitely be able to patch that. Overall, the team is solid, but we can definitely improve it. Do you guys have suggestions?

as a reminder, BW2 is already out, so we should finish this CCAT quickly and get ready for a new one due to stuff like Thundurus-T, Tornadus-T, Landorus-T, and of course, Keldeo-R. LGI
