[OVERVIEW]
Duskull's great Defense and Special Defense coupled with a rather good utility movepool make it look like a considerable utility Pokemon. In actuality, the rest of its stats are very poor, having a limited offensive movepool and no access to recovery. Firstly, Duskull's Ghost typing leaves it weak to the common Knock Off and doesn't give it useful resistances, since almost every Fighting-type carries the move. Duskull is also very passive, which allows setup sweepers that don't mind its moveset, such as Clamperl and Omanyte, to set up on it. As a wall, Duskull is outclassed by the likes of Ferroseed and Mudbray due to its typing and passivity but also because it does nothing useful while walling, whereas Ferroseed can set entry hazards and use Knock Off and Mudbray is hard to switch into. Duskull's lack of reliable recovery hinders its ability to wall as well.

[SET]
name: Bulky Utility
move 1: Pain Split
move 2: Will-O-Wisp
move 3: Substitute
move 4: Shadow Sneak / Hex
item: Eviolite
ability: Levitate
nature: Relaxed / Careful
evs: 196 HP / 196 Def / 116 SpD

[SET COMMENTS]
Under the protection of Substitute, Duskull can spread Will-O-Wisp to cripple opposing physical attackers, regain health back with Pain Split, and further wear down foes with Shadow Sneak or Hex. This set fails at its role because many Pokemon that don't mind its moveset such as Nasty Plot Croagunk can easily set up on it, many Pokemon can damage it faster than it can recover health, some Pokemon don't mind Will-O-Wisp at all, and many Fire-types wall Duskull instead, leaving this set heavily outclassed by the likes of Foongus and Pumpkaboo-XL because of their better typings, good recovery options, and ability to wear down common metagame threats. Duskull is also unable to spread status effectively, as its low Speed means it'll take a hit first.

Can I borrow your microwave, bro?

[OVERVIEW]
  • Most of what you want to say is here, but it feels a little redundant and lacking in organization. Try and make the edits below, and then rewrite around a central idea if you can. Feel free to message me on Discord if you want me to elaborate.
  • Mention specifically that its typing leaves it open to Knock Off and doesnt really give it useful resistances since near every Fighting-type carries knock
  • Mention that its passivity leaves it susceptible to opposing setup
  • Talk about how Ferro and Bray have typing / abilities that let them counteract meta threats well, while Duskull just doesn't fit well into the meta (I think you could center the paragraph around how Duskull just doesn't fit well into the offensive meta). Ferro can also set hazards and Knock, while Mudbray is pretty hard to switch into, whereas Duskull kind of just...sits.

[SET]
  • Night shade should absolutely not be on this set. It's just literally never worth clicking. I get that Duskull is passive but like...I can't think of a situation where 5 HP is better than clicking sneak or pain split or something.

[SET COMMENTS]
  • Explain why this set specifically fails in its role...things set up on it, most Pokemon damage it faster than it can recover, some things aren't bothered by Wisp. Also mention that you are hard walled by fire types pretty much.
  • Don't bring up the priority or status user points. This section is a bit too long, and those aren't necessarily roles people are looking for when building a team. Maybe mention that its slow speed means it frequently takes a physical hit before it can use Wil-O though.

[OVERVIEW]

I'd change the first sentence to clarify that it's Duskull's Defense and Special Defense that look appealing - "defenses" implies HP as well and Duskull's 20 base HP is poop tier. I'd like you to emphasize Duskull's absolute lack of reliable recovery since it's a huge thing holding Duskull back.

Instead of saying "setup sweepers that don't mind its moveset" be more specific, give examples of Pokemon who don't care about being burned by Will-O-Wisp.

[SET]

This is fine.

[SET COMMENTS]

You can probably merge your first and second sentence together. Again, be specific about the sweepers who can set up on Duskull. I'd also recommend saying Pumpkaboo instead of Spritzee as outclassing Duskull, since Pumpkaboo is a much more direct comparison who does Duskull's job better.

Implement this and give yourself 2/2
