Obama won my state. I got called a Devil Child by the old lady behind me in line for voting for Cynthia McKinney. Highlight of my life.

EDIT: Reminds me of last election Surgo.

Arkansas, Alabama, Va, SC all going McCain. Indianna as well.
Pa, MD, New england exceptfor one, maybe 2 of maine, all going Barack

I want recounts in Pa. Maybe Ohio as well.

Electoral vote got Maine, NH, VA senate races correct (noone really doubted).

BTW, democrat Anthony Weiner(Brooklyn, NY) was unopposed. I would have voted him anyway, as he gave me an award for community service.

EDIT: 8:35 according to electoralvote.com

NEW ENGLAND HAS GONE REPUBLICAN! HOORAY MA! HOORAY VT!!!!

Perfect examples of early calls.

Okay what the fuck...I'm looking at Google News for what states are going where, and they're calling shit like South Carolina when only 3% of precincts have reported.
Oh yeah? CNN's projecting Obama to win Maine when the reported votes are TWO to ONE for Obama. No shit, check it out.

EDIT: Oh, and they're also projecting Obama to win Maryland when NO votes have been reported. EDIT: ...and New Jersey.

lol

Be VERY careful to understand that with a couple of percent of the data in you may see strange results, like Obama sweeping Texas (could happen if Austin reports first) or McCain sweeping New York (if some upstate counties come in first).

also, they call states based on past voting trends, polling in this election and the network's respective exit polls. it's not a perfect science but, as an example, you didn't need to know who voted to call a state like connecticut for obama or tennessee for mccain. you can make that call based on trends, and the overall campaign season: neither campaign set foot in those states, they're going to look like they did last election season.

I want the workers of ACORN put on public trial for their fraud, and excecuted using the guillotine for the public to see.

I don't care if that means killing 200,000 people. They deserve to die if NV, OH, PA, NJ, IN, SC, MS, LA go for Obama. Most votes are fraudulent.

Good news in Florida - young person turnout was down, and older people were up. The young (going for Barack) and the old (for McCain) really makes this state good for Republican again.

Edit: I was more pointing out the map for simply "I understand your point" to anyone who is questioning the calling. At least electoral-vote is going by votes tallied, and not just by projections or past voting.

Edit 2: I'm watching ABC - current tallies in NJ are 39 - 60 Obama to McCain. Too early?

Edit 3: 2 sites called a few states too early - electoraal-vote.com is guilty with Texas (it is illegal to call projections before polls "officially close").

Edit 4: If McCain loses ND/MT/SD, he can still get 271. In other words, still chance of winning.

lol, Peanut, NJ is not going to McCain. That wasn't even a contested state. You either are reading the stats wrong and its 60-39 in favor of Obama, or ABC was taken over by Fox and is reporting garbage.

edit: no chance, peanut. if florida, missouri, or ohio goes (and one of them will, I think) it's over. A lot of the states Bush won are in MAJOR jeopardy this year for mccain. he won't take all of them. and his only chance IS to take all of them.

Sure, NJ would be all those so-called "fraudulent" registrations (which wouldn't end up voting anyway) and not all those people who are registered Republicans who end up voting for Obama like my girlfriend's parents.

One can live in hope and die in despare.

EPIC FAILURE: ABC cannot call Arizona, Nebraska, West Virginia, Louisianna, or TEXAS.
New Mexico cannot be called as of yet. I don't know which is more a surprise - all news polls were showing Barack for New Mexico. But now....wow.

ABC has called WY, KS, AR for McCain (no surprise)
ABC has called NY, RI for Obama.

And the last house seat in New England that was Republican has gone Blue, with 35% of precincts reporting.

3) electoral-vote.com isn't "projecting" anything. they're reporting the current vote tallies. big difference.

4) mccain won't win new mexico or iowa: he can't lose ND/MT/SD if he wants to win.

it's over! let me present to you president elect barack obama!!!!!

Don't call it yet - 15% of precincts are reporting.
It may still be contested in a week - expect lawsuit after lawsuit, with people testifying that they were harrassed by ACORN to register 2 and 3 times. Expect that the b*tch in Ohio who did not stop Acorn to be impeached. Expect a recount with witnesses.

Peanut, it's over, lol. Congratulations Senator Obama. Or...should I say President Elect Obama. ;-)

I was right. I knew he'd turn Ohio. He'll probably turn Florida as well.

damn i didn't think he'd turn ohio (partially b/c he doesn't need it; i think he'll win nevada and colorado), but yeah it's over.

Obama can still lose!

Even with his 200 votes (I look at ABC), the only guarantee is California at 55.

McCain will need to make sure Obama does not get 14 more EVs. It is unlikely, but still possible - CO, IA, NE, WA, OR, HI. Its a slim chance, but one all the same.

Oh well - several funds have started up already. One for ousting Barack Obama Chi-town way (mafia), and one for recounts in AZ, OH, NV, PA, VA, NC due to ACORN.

...obama will not lose hawaii. new mexico is already projected for obama. obama will win iowa. obama will not lose the west coast, period.

it is not possible. literally not possible. not only is barack taking oregon, washington, and hawaii (like democrats always do), but i fully expect him to take either florida, iowa, or colorado. this is going to end up being a blow-out. mccain won't crack 140 electoral votes.

you could have meant hyperbole, but i don't think it'll be so bad that he doesn't get 140.

edit: iowa's an instant call for obama, nm is already called for obama, ohio's already called for obama...

Well, CNN has called Ohio for Obama. Virginia is very close but Obama has just broke even. McCain can't win, according to 538's simulations, if he doesn't win both of these states.

no republican has EVER won the presidency without Ohio. As soon as Ohio went to Obama at 9:18 pm, it was OVER. stop talking about this. gg.

not to mention Obama also turned Iowa AND New Mexico, two states that Bush took in 2004.

I believe Lincoln did. :P

I just want the election to be over already.

Nope, wrong. Lincoln carried Ohio, and carried it pretty easily.

Like I said, no republican has ever won the presidency without Ohio. It's not up for debate, it's fact.
