Skream was one of the artists that got me into the whole dubstep genre of music, his later stuff is starting to have more of 'early Rusko' sound to it, is that a bad thing? I say not =D. Really chilled out tune.
Levels Blah
not trying to be a dick, but that skream song sounds nothing like rusko's initial sound. also im not saying its a bad song persay, but its hard to label stuff like this dubstep, i mean can you identify any dub or 2 step in it? Bit of a shame really, skream is so fucking good sometimes but that album was average
Nero is becoming one of my favorite artists really fast
I've been listening to a lot more DnB lately instead of dubstep. It's more high energy to me and I dunno I just like it more. J Majik and Wickaman are probably my favorite at the moment, followed by the Dirtyphonics.
Loadstar - Space Between
Danny Byrd - Tonight ft Netsky
Rusko - Everyday (Netsky Remix)
Just letting you know Deadmau5 isn't dubstep...He has a few debstep tracks but if you listen to all of For Lack of a Better Name you will figure it out. I like to think of it as progressive house, but I could be totally wrong.A lot of good stuff!
I've been listening to a bit of DeadMau5 lately and I really like it because it's dubstep but it doesn't really slam the bass directly in your face; its more musical. Ghosts N Stuff was really interesting to listen to for the first time as well. That said, I've been listening to Example lately and they have some really cool stuff. It's kinda techno but its also a bit like pop(kinda, they're not too mainstream to my knowledge). For reference.
Some of my friends have made some dubstep tracks, I'll probably link them sometime.

Cool, I have been DJing some, do you have any recommendations? I am looking for some good tracks to play as I have very little music to play as I usually partner DJ playing 10 or so songs, I just need a larger library.
I personally like using House, prog. House, Dubstep (It's ok, but I like to do a themed set for it, only dubstep), Electro, Hardstyle can work sometimes, and because they are easy to mix together. I have used some electronica and minimal techno but the floor really doesn't like it, lol. Pop is bleh, remixes of all songs are fine as they usually add a really nice touch for dancing.Happy to help mate! I have way too much music anyway haha. Depends what genre you're looking at playing mainly! If you let me know what type of music you're hoping to play I'm happy to give you a list of some decent songs that fit what you want :)
Yeah, I first heard Levels at Creamfields in the UK, absolutely huge tune, it's been all over the place ever since!
It's definitely come out of the same school of thought as dubstep, lets not get too picky here! I also disagree on the point of the album, I think it's top quality! Sure it's not perhaps what your average dubstep fan would like, but I'd say it's much cleverer than that, I can sit down and listen to it, which is more than I can say to most dubstep tunes, I have to either be on some dancefloor or really bored!
SO bumping with some quality music I found on youtube a while back. popemobile posted a video link that had a pretty sick beat in the GIF thread, I looked at that artist and he's pretty amazing if you ask me. I don't think he's too mainstream but his videos definitely deserve more than 5,000 views!
this thread rocks its so varied keep it up
