Welcome to the very first "Essence of the Ghost Reaper" OU Tournament! Ever wished you didn't have to deal with problematic Pokemon on your opponent's team like say Volcarona or worry about that Kyurem-Black eating at your balance core during teambuilding? Or maybe you'd want to eliminate chances of cheese by removing things like Ditto or Pyukumuku? This tournament's for you! Ghost Reaper & Winter Cherries will allow you to remove 3 Pokemon of your choice.
The premise of this tournament is once the brackets and pairings have been posted; players may contact each other and get a 3 Pokemon Ban system in play. Here's an example.
A vs B
(both players decide on who wants to ban first)
Player A bans Landorus-Therian. Player B bans Tapu Lele and Hawlucha.
Player A bans Kartana and Tapu Bulu, Player B bans Mega Sableye.
Now for the grand battle; those 6 Pokemon will be unusable! Standard OU rules still apply, and battles are to be held in Generation 7 [OU].
Rules
- Best out of 1; battles to be played in Gen 7 OU
- Replays are required; when posting make sure to mention the banned Pokemon.
- There's various methods to decide on who wishes to ban first; the ban system is meant to be fair with it's 1-2 2-1 system, so the second player to ban does not have a direct disadvantage.
- Each round will last a week.
- In theory; you can ban a non OU Pokemon, as long as it's usable in OU. So you're free to ban niche picks like Ditto, Muk-Alola, Gastrodon and the like if you do so choose.
- You can use different teams for each battle, as long as the bans are kept in mind during teambuilding.
- Banning the base form bans the mega.
- Greninja (protean) and Greninja (battle bond) are banned separately, banning one lets the other still be usable.
- You could ban the mega in specific if you do so wish, this leaves the base form free.
