Favourite Video Game Soundtracks

I decided to post this up because it might generate some interesting discussion (and god knows this forum needs interesting discussion right now).

The first soundtrack I'll put forth is the absolutely extraordinary Hotline Miami soundtrack. It's extremely listenable on its own merits but it works absolutely perfectly in-game; it almost puts people into a trance before the music cuts off at the end of the level and they have to walk past everyone that they've killed.

So, without mentioning games like the GTA series (would prefer original soundtracks although HM's isn't technically original), what are your favourite/the best video game soundtracks?

Banned deucer.
eve online has some fantastic ambient

edit: dustforce has a great soundtrack too, i'd say the entire album (lifeformed - fastfall) is worth listening to

Mother 3's soundtrack is a wonderful one. Songs are really catchy and often have the capability to be really touching. Here's a couple that I really enjoy.

Other games with good soundtracks are GSC (which has the best soundtrack of any Pokemon game and a good soundtrack in its own right; dark cave is my favorite song of the game.... gsc victory road has the dubious distinction of being the only truly awful song in a Pokemon game, though), Paper Mario 1 and 2 (former has amazing boss themes, latter has amazing everything), and Donkey Kong Country 2 (no comment on Stickerbrush Symphony is required, but hot head bop is good too).

Kirby 64 had one of my favorite soundtracks for the N64. It's pretty uncomplicated and easy to understand, but still catchy and, by the end, surprisingly emotional for what you'd think a game with a character like Kirby can pull.

Gran Tourismo 1 and FIFA 06

E: Just read OP. :/

Umm... I really liked the music from Civ2 back when I had that on the ps1.

Awakening was mentioned but FE4 still has one of the best overall soundtracks I've ever heard. The SMT and Persona series in general is stacked with great songs. I'll probably find some links when I'm not on my phone

OK vid time

No More Heroes (both games), Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, Super Mario Galaxy (2), and Xenoblade Chronicles all had incredible soundtracks.

Mother 3 and Super Mario Sunshine already mentioned, I approve.

Shadow of the Colossus though, that soundtrack was powerful. Gives me chills.

Also, Pokemon Colosseum:

Chrono Cross and Chrono Trigger have 2 of the best soundtracks I've ever heard. I dare you to disagree.
i accept this dare to disagree with a personal opinion

Another one of these threads. I find that you're likely to post your favorites and those change with time anyway. Go variety?

Dude you're aware that those are just adapted/remixed classical pieces right?

Most nintendo franchises have just amazing music. For example pokemon, kirby and legend of zelda. Also honorable mention to final fantasy. I'd find some tracks but i'm feeling lazy atm.
