I decided to post this up because it might generate some interesting discussion (and god knows this forum needs interesting discussion right now).
The first soundtrack I'll put forth is the absolutely extraordinary Hotline Miami soundtrack. It's extremely listenable on its own merits but it works absolutely perfectly in-game; it almost puts people into a trance before the music cuts off at the end of the level and they have to walk past everyone that they've killed.
So, without mentioning games like the GTA series (would prefer original soundtracks although HM's isn't technically original), what are your favourite/the best video game soundtracks?
