i suck at keeping my art posted anywhere but hopefully i won't suck as bad here. welcome to my art thread.

quick background: for a lot of years i used pencils and pencil crayons and hated painting. now i still hate painting but i got a tablet that i haven't used but now i do a comic once a week to help me get used to it. i use corel painter 11 and mostly don't know what i'm doing, but i can use layers so i guess i am kind of ok. comic here:http://beastboybothersraven.tumblr.com/

i draw raven and beast boy a lot because beast boy is an idiot. also their colors and designs are helpful for practicing new techniques, just like pokemon, which i also draw a lot. this posting is also a random mix of art from years ago to present day. i don't get a lot of time for fun art because of school but feel free to ask for something and it might happen.

Crap man, these are awesome! Are those pics of pokemon coloured by tablet, or by pencil crayon?

the pokemon are all colored by prismacolor pencil crayons or copic markers. i have neglected my tablet. ):

and if you'd like to request then sure, i need the practice. it might take me a bit to find the time, right now i'm drawing a nidoking figure 100 times for a gestural assignment. :U

I read your post in the careers thread, and I can definitely see why you want to pursue art. Not only is it fun but you're damn good at it!

I love how you do monsters, Toothless is very impressive and that first Nidoking is downright ferocious. (I'd love to see those Nidoking when you're done btw~) Keep up the great work!

i'll get started on shiftry and makuhita tomorrow, i've got work today. i've already got some ideas for those two.

and yeah, one of my favorite things is making pokemon look more badass and complicated.
 
updated with some more art that i didn't have access to yesterday. last update until i start doing requests. i would also like some critiques if anyone has any, since i don't get many chances for feedback on my art. some of it is old or for fun but i don't see mistakes that others can see. thanks all.

so i got home from work and decided to start basics for shiftry because i'm better at drawing after midnight.

still deciding where to put things because shiftry is hard to pose. the very top of the head is finished fur so it should all look like that eventually lol. gotta move the eyes and make it look cooler

ended up stopping before i spent too much time on it. pretend there is a charizard in front of it. what doe s a shiftry look like when he's laughing anyway? i always imagined they were too good for laughter and just smirked

and then firestorm bothered me about not drawing charmander so i spent hours and hours drawing the perfect one

Holy shit these are amazing o.o I see the Nidoking and my jaw drops but then I see the rest of the drawings and brain fluid starts to leak out of my ears. Excellent, excellent work.
 
Dig the style man, always a fan of non-digital art. Those copic markers seem pretty fun...I've been looking to dabble into some prismacolor markers and watercolor recently, I love the professional looking effects it has on art.
You should check out some of my stuff, I mostly use colored pencils.

thank you! someone once told me it was like a water type typhlosion, but that would be so much more awesome anyway that it doesn't even matter. it just makes more sense.

and yeah beast boy is basically my hero, no lies. sometimes i even scare myself when i realize how much of a fantard i am. like there are levels, and my fantardism is very close to the top. scarily close.

and i'm glad you enjoy my comic. i will be updating later tonight. it's so easy to do to, because if you can think of something really stupid, beast boy would probably do it.

Those copics are fantastic. Your talent is obvious so I really hope that you continue drawing. (Obligatory comment about Teen Titans being my childhood [in other words being totally awesome])
