Weezing and Donphan dropped that much, as gengar does nearly everything Weezing is capable of, and Donphan is outclassed by Hippo. I dont understand why Suiucne dropps though, as it counters a lot of common Pokemon and can sweep entire teams after their Choicebander is dead.

E/: Gengar has more uses then Blissey, it seems like the Metagame is becoming very offensive.
Celebi also climbs the list up

I don't think that's the case, even ignoring stats...it wouldn't take people months of shoddying to figure that out.

Gengar actually beating Blissey is very fascinating. Garchomp is completely stomping it too. Charizard in top60 is pretty wow, I think it's mostly related to Wobbuffet though (which is also why Lucario is so high).

Actually, yeah. Blissey going down the past two months is quite odd, guess people are finding better ways too counter it.

Weird, most of the losers are Walls. This must mean the shift from Stall Teams to more offensive teams. I'm happy to see some BLs like Charizard, Sceptile and Gallade moving to the Top 60.

I also noticed, Rhyperior is now absolute Borderline, now at number 60. Electivire on the other hand has gained some usage and moved up 5 ranks. (Didn't we disprove its capabilities already?)

Don't understand the Donphan drop, all though its probably because alot of people aren't using spin. Donphan is awesome anyway though I really didn't expect that drop

Dusknoir on the other hand...

Dusknoir going down seems to back up the fact that there is a switch from stall to offensive going on, especially since its the number 1 anti-rapid spinner and most stall teams use at leas 2 of the entry hazards.

I've been waiting all month to see how Marowak's done! :)

January unweighted usage: 108. Marowak (1911 usages)
January weighted usage: 110. Marowak (2188175 points)

February unweighted usage: 100. Marowak (2188 usages)
February weighted usage: 96. Marowak (2681793 points)

Yay.

Also loving the increased Gallade and Mismagius usage as I love them both.

Funnily enough, Spiritomb hardly moved at all (but one down nonetheless).

It's cool that Zapdos is seing more play on the ladder.

I'm not suprised that Blissey is falling behind Gengar (who's popularity is ever increasing).

I don't see Garchomp falling behind for awhile - Swords Dance with Yache, Salac or BrightPowder is becomming a serious threat to the metagame. It's getting difficult to handle when facing multiples of offensive Pokemon (a reason as to why they're covering the top 10 with offensive Pokemon).

I must admit that Tyranitar's popularity at a lead is taking over the likes of Bronzong. We should know how effective Bronzong is as a lead; setting up Stealth Rock, Hypnosis and then exploding a Pokemon that switches into it. Tyranitar's use for setting up SandStream is as important as it has ever been, looking at the Garchomp with SD, etc. Choice Band varients have evidently become the popular Tyranitar set as of late (atleast from what I can see). I guess we have to take into account that Tyranitar 5170 times more than Bronzong anyway, so it's hard to look into that.

Lucario hasn't taken off any further from 6th place (something that I'm shocked about). Just over 200 usages in Febuary from January. This is with it being popular from day 1 of Febuary, but in January it wasn't as often used in the early January days. I know I haven't seen them as much as I did in January, but I was certain he'd take up a place this month. Wierd.

Might conversate a little more later.

interesting 4/7 of the big losers are phy. tanks and 4/7 of the winers are sp. defencive. maybe the metagame is becomeing more Sp. based?

My biggest surprise is that Deoxys-S, at #47 in the weighted list, would barely be considered OU!

Although there might be people who don't use it since they still consider it uber?

Waiting for the day when Gallade,Mamoswine, and Slowbro/King gains places.

Sadly, my favorite Garchomp counter (Dusknoir) lost 11 places.

Mamoswine was pretty obvious with his physical Ice and Ground attack typing.

Gallade is finally seeing some increased play, and it's about time with its rather bulky physical attacking build accompanied with a nice movepool.

The only drop that suprised me is Suicune. He is one of the only Pokemon in D/P that I don't really like to match up against, and I really don't see why he has dropped.

Oh, and Wobbufett can choke on my balls for all I care.

Wait a second, the OP isn't Bologo. Where is my Bologo and what have you done with him?

More on topic, Heatran has surpassed Salamence. So MixMence isn't as good at wallbreaking as people say it is, if a pure Special attacker is used more. Also, Gengar overtaking Blissey makes sense, Gengar has 3 immunities and can coincidently 2HKO Blissey given the right set up. ScarfGar is also one of the easiest ways to force anything out, out speeding everything except Salamence after TWO Dragon Dances. And it's not like Gengar is hard to get in with its 3 immunities.

Contrary to all the offense, Bronzong usage has gone up slightly. Looking at the top 10, only Gyarados and Heatran get through it easily. All of the others either have a shaky 2HKO after set-up (Lucario, Garchomp, Metagross, Gengar, some version of Salamence), are weak to Gyro Ball/Earthquake (Tyranitar, Lucario, Metagross, Gengar [Gyro Ball is approximately a OHKO] yes I know Heatran is weak to EQ) or a combination of the two. And it does all of this without any reliable recovery. Bronzong is the prime example that resists matter the most defensively in DP.

The rest of the list isn't really surprising, besides Dusknoir's huge drop and the fact that Dugtrio is used more than Wobbuffet.

Milotic is nothing surprising. It counters the new fad named Mamoswine and MixApe too.

How does Milotic counter Mamo? I'm on Metalkid's damage calculator, and a CB, Adamant, max Attack Mamosine's Earthquake, does a minimum of 57% to even a Bold, max HP and Defense Milotic.

Uxie rose 13 ranks from 90 to 77! Nice. I've been using Uxie for the last few weeks and it's better than people make it out to be.

January Weighted: 90. Uxie (3192256 points)
February Weighted: 77. Uxie (3579892 points)

Gallade was used by me in Shoddy as a lead.Often takes out 2/3pokes until it goes down.I helped it to rise so many positions.
Strange for me that Weezing dropped so much...it was the month i saw it more...
I have seeing so many Ninjasks too it's not even funny

And Gengar is the most popular lead now

I definitely knew Mamoswine would be moving up-- hell I thought it'd go up even more. I wasn't expecting it, but I'm happy Mismagius is getting more usage. I have to say, I'm damn surprised that Suicune and Donphan dropped, Cune being one of the best CMers and Donphan being the bulkiest spinner.

Can't say I didn't see Blissey's usage falling though... The metagame is shifting drastically in an offensive direction, and I wouldn't be surprised if by next month we see even more offensive Pokémon surpassing defensive ones.

Also...

Moltres went from 96 to 51 on most used leads.
Hariyama went from 93 to 83 on weighted usage.

Poor Dragonite it dropped to 49 which doesnt make sense as its an A+ Poke, also not really surprised that heatran is used more than mence. Specs and Sleep Talk are amazing, and Mixmence is okay, but heatran walls it to some degree, Specs Mence is beaten and Bliss, Dragonite is a better DD, and CB Mence is kinda outclassed by CB Chomp.
@_@

What are you talking about, MixMence is easily the best wall-breaker out there. Heatran doesn't get past Blissey at all unless it nabs a Flash Fire boost, MixMence does. Period. Plus Heatran doesn't have the luxury of switching attacks, so I can easily bring in my own Heatran on a Fire Blast, then later Celebi on an Earth Power. MixMence has that amazingly powerful Draco Meteor, and almost all the special walls are weak to Brick Break.

Some pretty big lead changes:
Suicune went from #108 to #49.
Qwilfish went from #117 to #68
Persian went from #85 to #45.
Porgon2 went from #34 to #50.
Drapion went from #56 to #92.

Yeah I've seen a lot more Gengar in Feburary. Not surprising that it passed Blissey and is now the most popular lead. Maybe it could pass Garchomp soon now that a lot of people are trying to make their teams anti-Garchomp.

I'm not surprised at all to see Donphan's usage drop. It can get repeatedly bashed as it switches in and finds itself without the slack off and sandstream that Hippo gets. Most of the gainers cause problems for it as well.
