Feraligator Question

Feraligatr also has a pretty strong fighting attack to work with, unlike Gyarados (Rock Smash sucks). Downside is that Superpower lowers Attack and Defense stat one stage, but it can be a nice finisher/Hit and Run attack.

I dont have time for that :P I have school

I'd pefer the added effects over power
It would be worth it. Most of us have school, many have college. Just be patient and you will be happy with the results. I for one, am trying to breed a perfect Heracross, while pursuing my engineering degree. I don't want to her anyone else saying they don't have time :P

Yeah lol =D

His excuse is added effects over power, and thats not even a legitimate excuse, as Ice Punch has a better effect :D

I want to be an engineer too lol =D High five!

Feraligatr also has the advantage of a bigger badass quotient. Really.

Plus you're not ENTIRELY screwed by a decent Electric attack.

And your Special stat is usable for a gimmick set. Kinda.

But generally, the main advantages Feraligatr has over Gyrados is:

- Ice Punch
- Not going to die from Stealth Rock/Stone Edge/Rock Slide
- Looks cooler
- Does not have a 10 foot mouth open at all times

*High five

Has anyone mentioned Aqua Tail? I know it's only 90 accuracy, but it's base 90 power as well.

Well, Aqua Tail VS. Waterfall is a tough one...

Aqua Tail is 10 BP Stronger, but 10 Accuracy less..Waterfall has a flinching side-effect too..so in the end, most people have agreed upon Waterfall being better.

Feraligatr gets Swords Dance and isn't weak to stealth rock. Those are the two biggest advantages that it has over Gyarados. Dragon Dance is what makes it inferior because they basically do the same thing as each other except Gyarados can set it up better with Taunt. At least with Swords Dance and respectable speed, it can pose a different physical threat than Gyara.

feraligtr also gets torrent,so after a DD or two,is likely to torrent to become active,so waterfall gets a high power.i use feraligtr this way:
Feraligtr@Liechi berry
adamant 252ATK/156speed/100DEF
Waterfall
Ice punch
Dragon Dance
crunch/earthquake/rock slide(come to me gyarados!)

its very likely to liechi and torrent to activate after two DDs,so feraligtr gets a insanely powerful waterfall.

Dude, if it's the Totodile I just traded you, then you should be able to pass those moves on with a Ditto and the Male Totodile...I'm pretty sure it came with the set.

Anywho, as for the arguments:

Aqua Tail vs. Waterfall - I prefer Waterfall. Better accuracy, plus a chance at flinching. It's not likely you'll go through 15 (?) BP of the move anyway, which is the only upside Aqua Tail has to it.

Stone Edge Vs. Rock Slide - I personally don't use it on this set (I use DD / IP / WF / EQ), but if you're going for a Choice Band sort of set, then Stone Edge probably matches the set more, though it's down to personal preference. I prefer the extra damage and chance at a crit over the slightly higher accuracy.

It is

Im using It, with nature + Atk - Spec. D

I'm running this set now:

Water Fall
Ice Fang
Dragon Dance
Earthquake

You might want to change Dragon Dance with Swords Dance every while and then.

And Ice Punch over Ice Fang at all times.

Earthquake can be alternated with Stone Edge.

It's called no quad electric weak, and actually a really GOOD physical defensive stat (still good after opponent switches out the poke, unlike Gyara who relies on itntimidate). Not to mention fighting attacks? And no rock weak?

There's this little thing called a Sandstorm team that water pokes would be good at fighting if (unlike a certain dragon whom I still love) they weren't weak to stone edge. Brick Break/Super Power is huge when you have such great odds of running into Ttar . . .

Hense the reason why I want Feraligator

He laughs at Grass type pokemon with Ice Punch
HE doesnt have to worry about be OHKO (without boostS) like Gyarados does, and not rock weakness

Well Gyrados can laugh at Grass Pokemon too with Ice Fang.

But yes, access to the strongest Physical Ice Attack, no quad weakness to Thunder, no Stealth Rock/Stone Edge weaknesses, and access to fighting moves are the advantages that Feraligatr has over Gyrados, and not taking advantage of them would be a sin.
