Feraligator Question

Gyarados has the nice ability to make people crap themselves though by absorbing special electric attacks. With the -electric damage berry and the right EVs, you can survive non-stabbed Thunderbolts and get two DD's for extra sweepage.

That said, I do enjoy Feraligatr. He performs very well, but is essentially a poor mans Gyarados (unless you have a huge stealth rock weakness and no room for a spinner).

Good point Tytus.

Kingofgames, Swampert is a Wall as well as an attacker. You shouldn't replace Feraligatr with him in my opinion.

EDIT: @ Lord Alchemy, hence why Gyrados is OU while Feraligatr is BL. See, we're trying to make the best of Feraligatr right now.

Kingofgames, not in Rockslide Vs. Stone Edge case.

Feraligatr can't learn Stone Edge for some reason, but just for your knowledge:

Any Pokemon that can learn Rock Slide and Stone Edge should take Stone Edge instead. Why? Well, Rock Slide isn't a 100% guranteed attack, only 90%. Stone Edge's accuracy is only 10% below, and yet 25 base power higher. Most people would agree with me on this point. The power sacrificed for such little accuracy isn't worth it. If Rock Slide had 100% accuracy, things might be different....

Rock Slide has a flinch occurance 30% of the time, true...

But Stone Edge has a high critical hit ratio, along with a 100 Base Power. It could be devastating.

Stone Edge is overall better if the Pokemon has that option..I don't get how Gyrados gets Stone Edge while Feraligatr doesn't...I mean, Gyrados has no hands...

Another weird thing...an armless water Pokemon that can learn Stone Edge, and its in the frickin' ocean, yet it is classified as a Flying Pokemon, hence infecting it with the crippling quad electric weakness.

Its like Groundon using Fire Blast... how does that work
And a Pikachu using surf in magma collesum ....... wheres the water comming from?

Groudon using Fire moves is completely normal. A volcano Pokemon using fire attacks does not sound out of the ordinary.

Pikachu using Surf...is just a deluxe special thing.

I really like Sub/SD/Waterfall or Aqua Tail/Return @ Salac Berry. Get an SD up at some point, Sub down till you activate Salac, and sweep with Torrented <Insert Water Move> and Return (unresisted, except for Empoleon, in OU)

I'm a big fan of putting Hydro Pump on my Gatr as it hits his counters extremely hard (something like 92% max to Skarms).
DDance can still be used with Hydro Pump to great effect as it entices the opponent's phazers and physical walls which, for the most part, hate your Hydro Pump to death. You can still pick two from IcePunch, EQ, Crunch, FocusPunch, and RockSlide which is usually enough for favorable type coverage (IP/EQ hits the best, Crunch for Cress, RockSlide for some fliers resistant to Ice, FPunch since you get switches).

FPunch and Screech is another really fun aspect that Feraligatr pulls off fairly well due to good typing and somewhat bulky sweeper stats.
