Arena
Japanese Zen Boxing Arena
-Inside so no Thunder allowed, little light from skylights
-No weather allowed sans Sunny Day becuase indoors
-Low ceiling prevents Fly/Sky Drop from being used
-Rowdy spectators are making tons of noise and cause Psychic move users to lose focus and thus reduce the BP of Psychic moves by 3
-Natural usable elements include: Polished titanium circular boxing ring, water moat (10 feet deep) around arena, floating island gardens, rustic dirt floor, decorative Japanese black rocks, antique parabolic torches (think Olympics)
-The entire arena, although varied in components, is roughly a cramped 40-foot diameter circle and thus activates Fighting's "Increased senses in close combat." This boost is codified as a +1 Accuracy stage boost and +4 (Final) Speed stat, and applies to other types (Steels get the same boost in the boxing ring, Water in the moat, Ground on the floor, Grass in the gardens, Fire on the torches, Rock in the rock gardens).

Looks like the boxing arena is going to finally see some action. Raid master zarator has decided it's about time he challenged the Fighting Gym Leader Kaxtar and this should indeed be an interesting fight. Lets start outselves off by deciding who has to send out their Pokemon first. Heads places the burden on the leader while tails means its all on zarator..

220px-Australian_20_cent_piece_Obv.jpg

Heads it is! Kaxtar its all on you.

Turn Order
Leader Kaxtar sends out first two Pokemon, selecting abilities and items.
zarator sends out first two Pokemon, selecting abilities and issuing actions.
Leader kaxtar issues actions.
deadfox081 referees.

Not too sure if I have any solid options, this should be a close match.

Go Infernape, Gallade! Gallade takes a Mental Herb. Inferanpe gets a Life Orb.

Well, old friend, I sure have no reason to go easy on you right?^^

I'll send out Chandelure (Flash Fire/Flame Body) and Haxorus (Mold Breaker/Unnerve)

Chandelure:
Shadow Ball (Gallade) - Fire Blast (Gallade) - Hex (Gallade)
If Gallade attempts to use an evasive or a protective move successfully, redirect your attacks onto Infernape (and if this is the case for A2, change your action to Psychic (Infernape))

Haxorus: Dragon Claw (Gallade) - Dual Chop (Gallade) - Draco Meteor (Gallade)
If Gallade attempts to use an evasive or a protective move successfully, redirect your attacks onto Infernape unless Infernape uses Counter, in which case replace your corresponding action with Dragon Pulse (Infernape).

EDIT: yeah sorry about the ability. It's not like Haxorus will prolly survive long enough for it to be of any concern though.

If this works, it'll be so damn neat. Also Deadfox/Zarator, Haxorus's Unnerve is DW locked, so Zarator should be forced to use Rivalry, though no pokemon out ATM are affected by it.

Gallade: Knock Off Haxorus~Paint Split Chandelure~Brick Break+Ice Punch Combo Haxorus
Infernape: Focus Punch Haxorus~Close Combat Haxorus~Focus Punch Haxorus

These boys don't mess around once the Pokemon hit the Zen Boxing Arena so why don't we get right down to following the action. Infernape the Infernape begins by channelling some major focus while Lendys the Haxorus goes with an immediate show of power in the form of a Dragon Claw on the opposing Gallade. Demi Gravidon didn't appreciate the hit and makes sure future such attacks will be weaker by removing Lendys' Dragon Fang with a Knock Off! Shar the Chandelure also has sights on the part Psychic and hits him with a Shadow Ball for some very nice damage of its own. Infernape closes us out by showing just what some Focus can do with a huge Punch right to Lendys' ample jaw.

In true style of our arena Infernape follows that up right away with a serious of blows in Close Combat. The move does end up leaving herself a tad exposed though. Lendys fires back with a Dual Chop, still focussed on Gallade while Demi Gravidon is a bit sick of being pounded upon and decides to instead use all this single mindedness to his advantage. He promptly Splits his Pain with Shar and ensures they both show scars of the beating to date. The ghostly one isn't deterred and Blasts back at Gallade with a stare of Fire. In fact the fire was so very hot that it left Demi with a very unwelcome burn.

Both of the leader's Pokemon sit in wait for the final action while they are forced to watch Haxorus unleash a mighty Draco Meteor on the heavily battered Gallade. He really did miss his Fang on that one though. Fortunately luck does seem to be on Shar's side as the no doubt unaccounted for burn allows her Hex attack to hit at full power. That very same burn is causing trouble for Gravidon on the attacking front too, as it limits the damage from his Icy Brick Break. However it does still mean that an Iron Fist boosted Focus Punch from Infernape can bring the dragon down, even if it was just because of that Life Orb. Of course Gallade is now a sitting duck but thats surely just a technicality..

Hey, just wanted to let you know that I won't be able to get actions in until tomorrow evening. I might break DQ by a few hours, sorry about that.

Gallade: Cool Down~Rock Slide~Night Slash Chandelure
Infernape: Stone Edge Chandelure~Fire Blast Gengar~Stone Edge Chandelure

IF Hypnosis/Taunt by Gengar AND Gengar is not Taunted, THEN Magic Coat that action and push others back.

Chandelure: Shadow Ball (Gallade) - Pain Split (Infernape) - Hex (Infernape)
Gengar: Haze - Thunder Wave (Infernape) - Sludge Bomb (Infernape)

Looks like that Haze boost for Ghost-types is more useful than I thought^^

Fresh on the field and defintiely not messing about Cyric the Gengar starts by releasing a thick Haze all over the arena. The leader's fighting types are definitely put off by the haze but it appears the challenger's Ghost types are wholy unaffected. That was a clever move. Of course Infernape isn't exactly effected immediately and still lands a particularly hard Stone Edge on Shar. The Chandelure isn't too taken aback by the move though and swiftly moves to KO the cooling down Gallade with a Shadow Ball.

Cyric then turns its focus onto Infernape also and cripples the ape with paralysis. Shar quickly follows up by returning Kaxtar's trick and Splitting some Pain of her own with the Infernape to more or less undo the damage of its last attack. Nevertheless the fire type is able to fight through both the haze and the paralysis to successfully launch a star of flame at the Gengar for some respectable damage.

Cyric finally decides it is high time to attack and does just that with a Sludge Bomb at Infernape, while at the exact same time Shar channels the pain of her status with a Hex attack. Apparently this ape is totally haxxproof though as she is once again able to hit Shar with a Stone Edge despite strong paralysis and nearly a 50% chance to miss. Well done little ape.

Infernape: Dig~Stay Underground~Attack Chandelure

IF Fully Paralyzed A1, THEN change actions to Shadow Claw+Mach Punch Combo Genger~Cool Down (Try Combo again on Gengar). (I think the combo should still get the Iron Fist boost, I see the attack as a punch with shadowy claws protruding from the end, similar to this weapon being punched into something: http://i597.photobucket.com/albums/tt54/sandeep_koftgariartist/scissor20Katar1.jpg)

Also, a heads up. This battle will probably have to go on hold for a while. I'm going away for six weeks starting June 13, and will not have access to Smogon. While I'm gone, Deadfox can claim half of the UC for his reffing up to this point. Zarator, I'm assuming that you don't need the counters, but if you want to, claim for the Pokemon that already out and 2 TC/CC. Sorry about this, I really wanted to finish this battle before I leave, but it looks like it will have to wait.

Cyric is swift in turning his attention to the near crippled Infernape and a Hex attack does almost enough to see the ape out of this match. Fortunately for her Shar has sights set on extending her time in this match even more with another Pain Split, this time using the fresh on the field Scrafty to sap a whole bunch of life force. Scrafty doesn't appreciate the tactic and responds immediately by Crunching down on the Chandelure and hitting so hard that it decreases her defence against future hits. Infernape ends the exchange by Digging underground and hiding like a cowards, albeit a very clever one.

Cyric and Shar are none the wiser to Infernape's avoidance tactic and their balls of Sludge and Shadow respectively miss wildly. Scrafty punishes the pair by raining rocks down on the both of them but unfortunately for the leader Infernape's paralysis acts up finally and the fire monkey is forced to surface from its underground safe place to get some circulation back through its limbs. That wasn't the plan and Cyric takes full advantage by knocking Infernape out with another Hex attack! This allows Shar to turn her attentions to the now very lonely Scraft with a Fire Blast but at least the Dark type is able to out damage the Ghost with another hard Crunch. Looks like the challenger just took the advantage as the leader now has to reveal his last team member a little earlier than he might have hoped.

Okay so dealing with paralysis while underground is a little tricky. Should Infernape get underground successfully I will still be checking paralysis and if it succumbs then it will be forced to surface in order to recover and then will continue its actions as ordered. It just doesn't seem fair to be able to circumvent the negative effects of a status like that.

Having been forced to reveal his hand a little earlier than expected the Fighting Gym Leader sends out yet another boringly un-nicknamed mon as his final team member, this time a Revenankh. Shar knows that the mummy is gunning for her and Protects against whatever might be coming her way. This also acts to trigger Revenankh's own substitution and she also Protects and both end up doing it for nothing at all! Unaware of this waste of time on the other side of the field the Gengar and Scrafty trade powerful attacks of their own with a Focus Blast and Payback finding their marks respectively both to some pretty mamoth damage.

It looks like substitutions are going to cost the Leader dearly in this round because simply by looking like he might Counter anything coming his way Cyric has altered the entire complection of this action! Both Revenankh and Scrafty are too wary of the counter to attack anyone and instead both set up replicas of themselves while Shar is allowed to Chill out and keep on living in this match up! zarator quickly makes Kaxtar pay for this as Cyric knocks Scrafty's doll flat out of the arena with a Hyper Beam and Shar follows up to KO the lizard thingo with a Fire Blast! Revenankh is at least able to finally land a blow and his Shadow Punch does bring Gengar so very close to the brink but it looks unlikely to be enough for the mummy mon to take on 3 other ghosts, no matter how weakened these two may be.

Well, this probably isn't going to end well. Really wished I had specified my substitution a bit more, nice job spotting it and abusing it Zarator.

In a very swift round indeed Revenankh makes use of a couple of Shadow Sneaks to rid himself of both the opposing Ghosts. Not before Shar manages to destroy his Substitute with a Shadowy Ball though. Looks like its not up to the mummy to stand alone against a fully fit Mask. This one is coming down to the wire it seems.
