Thread needs infusion of new game. Merlin's Revenge 2, which I just re-found today.

Well, it's an old game actually. So old I remember playing it like six or seven years ago. So old it actually uses Shockwave instead of Flash. I was surprised to rediscover it on Kongregate.

The default keys are silly (arrow keys AND the mouse? what are you, like lefthanded?), the alternate keys use WASD to move and it's a bit better. Use H to open the menu and save (ESC if you use the default keys). Save often. Potions make your magic blasty thing better. Medkits slowly restore you health, and they're only used up when you need them (which will be often, so grab 'em whenever possible). Press F to summon Berlin; you can only summon him five times so save him for boss fights (like the dragon with the flamethrower guarding the Golden Machine Gun).

The Morph spell at the beginning seems to only make you faster. And bigger, depending on what you morph into.

When I play it, I randomly cease to be able to move for a few seconds. Might be because of the Shockwave thing. Save often.


Merlin's Revenge 1 and 3 are also around there somewhere. 1 is like 2 but smaller and without the extra spells and machine gun. Haven't played 3 yet.
 
Coma didn't grip me the way similar games of recent have, i.e. Don't Look Back, The Company of Myself.
 
Yeah, I finished it now. It's more of an artwork than a game but it's amazing.

Crush the Castle 2 was okay. Going for gold is tiresome, it's more fun to just throw bombs until everything is dead.

I searched for Don't Look Back and got two results, tried the one that had 4 as its average score. Really don't see the appeal. Who wants to play Coma on Atari 2600?

The Company of Myself is something I played before, I loved it. But it was really more Chronotron than Coma.

coma is very pretty, I just wished it lasted a little longer.
 
After lurking in this thread I agree with Gemcraft, it's just so incredibly hard...the first boss is almost impossible for me.

Robot Unicorn Attack, I'm sure, has been talked about already, as well.

Gemcraft was so boringly easy to me... *_* maybe you just need to learn to use upgrades and powers better?

gemcraft chapter 0 is pretty damn hard, several times ive had to go back and get better scores on previous levels to progress

It's a FORTY HOUR LONG FREE RPG.
There are no drawbacks. Great story, dialogue, secrets, and a great battle system. Also, it was made by ONE PERSON, not a development team.

heh, I was glad someone mentioned this. amazing game, I've spent over 40 hours playing it and there is still stuff I haven't completed. though you should probably play 1 and 2 first (mainly 2) to get an idea of what's going on.

Epic war 4 is horrible. I'm sad to say it. Not improving on any aspect from Epic War 3, just giving it a story? Urgh. (Shockingly slow gameplay, super slow hero attack, and so on). It would have been better off being called Epic War 3 Storyline.
 
Didn't play any of 'em past the first, so... ;[ I already assumed but can't say for sure.
 
what the fuck @ coma and company of myself. they're so damn short. I hate them. if they had a whole storyline it'd be so good.
 
I'm into Gemcraft Chapter 0. Much harder than the first one. But I'm progressing pretty well. Currently at level 54 or something.

In other news, I want Sonny 3. Rumors are that Krin will start working on it after finishing the new Sinjid.
