flash games - mark 2

what the fuck @ coma and company of myself. they're so damn short. I hate them. if they had a whole storyline it'd be so good.

they do have stories, they are just short stories

how can you hate them for that?

they do very well what flash games do best, and i have never played a decent "long" flash game

I hate them because they would be excellent if they weren't so fucking empty feeling

It just feels like they took storylines that could've been made into 3 hour games and summarized them.

Also, I'm liking the Mardek series. Currently in Ch2, I think the last boss? He's an asshole. Gonna need to grind to beat him, since he can OHKO my guys at will and even his Droma summons cause too much trouble.

The final boss is easy, since he tries to zombify your dead guys whenever possible, which can easily be cured with holy water. It's even easier if two or three of your characters are immune to zombie, because then an attempt to zombify them acts like a free revive. Just keep your guys healthy enough to prevent all of them dying at once from Arcane Cataclysm.

If you still have to grind, do so with Bonestones equipped; their skill makes you immune to zombifying, unless I'm remembering wrong. I had two at the end of the game, can't remember how easy they were to get.

Epic Coaster

Canabalt, with achievements. In addition, the more achievements you got, the higher your score multiplier is. Have fun.

EDIT: The Illusionist's Dream

A... Very interesting game. Definitely up there with Coma and Company of Myself, though still not like them. You are supposed to find a key, and get to the door. You do this by grabbing animals and changing into them. Short, but still enjoyable.

EDIT2: SeppuKuties

You play as cute animals, solving puzzles to get to Paradise Meadow. Most of the maps require you to kill those cuties in different ways. Enjoy.

Hex Empire. Choose a country on one of hundreds of maps. Play a war game that can take a long time but is really fun, worth the time. You win by taking over the other 3 capitols.

this is really frustrating

it has beautiful music, great ambience and appealing visuals, but right now i can't carry on playing this game because of the sloppy controls

edit: alright, stuck with it, wrestled with the controls

very pretty, too short, great concepts here though

Agreeing with #Az on the Illusionist's Dream. The worst part is that it has a few levels with that interesting concept, and then the last two levels are just a shitty platformer with nice music. Man, good thing I practiced playing Dragon's Lair on NES.

I've reading this thread and so I thought i should post something.

Raze
Battle against Aliens, Robots, and Zombies in this futuristic fight for the survival of earth. Or be the enemies and fight for the destruction of it.

Dungeon Defender
An interesting blend of Real Time Strategy, Tower Defense, and RPG. Play as the Dungeon Master and send your minions to defeat the heroes!

Thing-Thing Arena 3
Shoot your way through countless enemies, but this time, do it with style!

Chapter 1 was pretty short. I'm currently in the middle of #2 and probably won't remember what I'm doing by the time I get back to it soon, since I was just playing my uncle's FF13 all week and was out of town doing shit this weekend. Not bad, though. I miss the heyday of standard-ass RPGs. :(

Here's another one for those of you that enjoyed The Company of Myself.

Decent platformer game.

unless there are more levels after you start rewinding?
edit: no there are not.
this games difficulty curve
f(x)=-x²
hold on that probably doesn't make any sense
starts easy; gets hard; gets easy; ends
the soundtrack is really trippy backwards

that game would be infinitely less depressing if you could mute that music and play the benny hill theme on loop

EDIT: second half needs 'gotta catch 'em all' as the theme

hmm. to be honest i think most of the levels are really lazily designed, and when there's no one way to complete a particular level the second half becomes either really easy or impossible. the wall jumping controls are also frustrating (if youve ever played N then you'll be disappointed). not a fan
