Charles is so fucking GOOD man.

Awesome for Albon and really solid for Franco, would be pretty cool if he could actually manage to tread water for this season. Also great race from Kevin, he’s probably is taking a vacation tho.

edit: would also like to say bortoleto is the goat

Drama Drama Drama. Verstappen not having a great run but Lando goes out in Q1, failing to capitalise again. Great jobs from Colapinto and Bearman. Nice to see Perez going well. What the actual **** from Williams, rip Albon.

Gosh I loved every bit of that, it’s a shame I couldn’t watch live since it’s at fking 4 AM for me. Piastri’s T1 dive on Charles has got to be front and center in the OotS conversation now. He might honestly be my #1 favorite driver when Fernando retires (i.e. never). I wonder how Charles’ tire wear situation would’ve changed had he stayed out front in clean air? Also this has got to be Red Bull’s worst weekend since Melbourne ‘22, jesus christ. Checo’s crash and Max getting beaten by a Q1 exit Lando are both headline-worthy embarrassments on their own.

Fun Piastri stat:

Shocker by Ferrari in Q3. Odds on Lando and Max taking each other out and leaving Piastri and the Mercs to battle it out?

Also a sad return to form for Perez. Also rip Daniel. Hope this isn’t his last qualifying… And shoutout to Colapinto, apparently Albon has upgrades and he doesn’t, he was usually a few tenths off Albon in the other quali runs but almost grabbed him at the end in Q2.

Hulk doing Hulk things. God I hope Sauber can pull something out of their ass for him next year. I mean surely it looks like they haven’t done anything with this car since the start of the year. They better be working hard.

Good drives from Piastri and especially LeClerc. Lando, I mean he was ridiculously dominant but man, we saw a puncture for K-Mag off a similar contact he had, plus he almost scraped the front wing.

Very solid effort from Hulk, pity he got undercut by Alonso. Kudos to Sainz too, obviously had one of the faster cars but really made those tyres last. Colapinto very solid again.

And Danny gj with the fastest lap if that is his final race. At least he had that on an otherwise torrid night. Kinda hope Lando does end up 1 point behind Max now and he can say he won Verstappen his championship.

In fairness if anyone’s gonna kick him out of the seat in such a sad manner, it should be Liam Lawson.

Was very glad the fans were able to give him the small driver of the day sendoff. Seemed to mean a lot to him.

Sadly it seems now Lawson has gotten a fair bit of online hate and vitriol spewed his way. Awful shit all round.

Well now, that was a very exciting sprint with a lot of action!

Can only hope we’ll see some similar stuff tomorrow!

Mercedes look out of it but Red Bull, McLaren and Ferrari could be interesting.

Haas looked very comfortable there over RB and Williams.

And an interesting quali. Unfortunate the last laps got aborted. Lawson looks very fast. Williams pace seemed to go nowhere and Gasly just popped up. (felt bad Hulk screwed that lap in Q2) Hopefully Hamilton from the back should bring some entertainment down there, whilst we have Verstappen vs Norris and the Ferraris at the front. (Piastri just doesn’t seem to be quite in the fight this weekend)

Both title contenders fighting from the front row at Austin? Clearly the circumstances are ideal for the WDC leader's elder teammate to make an unexpected comeback and take one glorious final win before he unceremoniously leaves the team!

(I don't think Perez actually has a chance but it'd be really funny if we had 2018 repeat itself)

Nah thats gotta wait for Mexico surely.

Well well well. A lot to unpack there.

Hats off to Ferrari, they were excellent. Verstappen and Norriz was an excellent battle. The penalty is a tough call, nobody likes to see a position decided like that, seeing a huge fight between the two contenders is exactly what we want to see though. Excellent recovery from Russell. Very mediocre from Perez. Solid classic 2024 Hulkenberg drive. Lawson and Colapinto both very impressive. Seemed Colapinto had the edge on the medium tyre and Lawson on the hard early on. Lawson silencing any possible doubters surely, and Colapinto really putting his hand up for that second Sauber seat over Bottas.

Felt bad for Magnussen - he looked quite good up until that point, with such old tyres idk how he would end up against Lawson and Colapinto but I felt the pitstop was a weird call. Sounded urgent though..

Gasly had a slow stop missed by the commentators fsr but even after that, both he and Tsunoda never looked to have the pace to challenge.

rip Alonso, Aston just had no pace in the race

lol @ Hamilton

Dominant quali from Sainz. Quite amazing. Would love to see him win this one.

Look forward to seeing Piastri (mainly) and Perez coming through the field.

Haas still looking very quality and great jobs by Gasly and Albon. Both due for a decent conversion

Haas go brrrrr, Yuki go bonk

Apparently Tsunoda has a floor upgrade this weekend and Lawson doesn’t. Starting 11/12 this could be huge for Lawson if he beats him.

Verstappen and Perez both drove like idiots.

Tsunoda and Albon man, that was just, unlucky for both I feel.

Magnussen driving for his life recently, Haas doing so well.

Great job from Sainz. Merc just sadly off the pace. Piastri was a lot slower than expected.

Good for Gasly to get a point.

Lawson and Colapinto have been interesting these past two races. Both running long one stops, Lawson having an advantage in the first stints but Colapinto holding out a few more laps and having an advantage in the second stints. Still unsure of how I view that one between them, only saw one replay.

And of course rip Alonso.
