In another news, council has a very important announcement. After some discussion and analyzing, council has decided that Slate 21 will be the final slate of Fusion Evolution Under Used. This is because the metagame feels pretty complete and it is getting really complicated to add new Pokémon that can properly fill a nieche while not competing with what came before it in the metagame, as well as users overall claiming to be a bit burnt out on ideas. Our solution to this is simple: people won't have issues submitting if they aren't allowed to submit We plan on bringing FERU to life sometime in the future! It shouldn't be too distant, but we'd likely take a small break from the time FEUU closes and FERU opens. Stay tuned!

We shall now move into the Discussion Phase.

Thought time, and as a fair warning this is the least excited I've been about a set of winners in this mod to date so don't expect many positive reviews lol.

:lurantis::aerodactyl:
This one's decent, balanced Contrary's always fun to mess around with unless your name is Serperior but base doesn't really do anything outside of that so there's not much else to say here.
0⇂/ߤ

:lurantis::aerodactyl-mega:
I really liked this one at first because Superpowering to set up and then mega evolving sounds like a very fun and unique playstyle, but then I realized that Lurantis has Swords Dance and mega's just going to use that instead most of the time so rip the mon's entire gimmick. Otherwise the mon's solid, but it competes hard with Catdog and is probably worse overall due to its lack of Accelerock, its lack of strong moves that benefit from Tough Claws, and the fact that it uses up your mega slot.
Third-Best Tough Claws Mon/10

:ninetales-alola::landorus:
The uncontested least interesting Hail setter submitted this slate. I hate its boring yet stupidly strong Plot + perfect coverage playstyle and how much it overlaps with or outright outclasses our other mid-high speed Plot mons. I hate how its perfect-accuracy Blizzards hit like a STAB Ice Beam without it having to actually be Ice-type, because this mon clearly isn't allowed to have drawbacks. I hate how it was the start of a "I got x votes last slate!!!" trend that adds absolutely nothing to a sub beyond blatant priming yet also worked twice this slate so I doubt we're ever seeing the end of it. The worst part of it all is that it's not even that great as a Hail setter. I know this is a bit of a rant, but this is my lowest first impression of a mon since Open-Handed Grimmlurk and while first impressions can be wrong (see: me going from hating base Altarizard to actually liking it quite a bit), I don't think this is going to be one of those cases because I don't see anything interesting or unique here that could redeem it.
Grousle Manslaughter/10

:aurorus::volcarona:
This mon is slate 18's silver lining. We somehow didn't have a Quiver Dancer yet, and this is a balanced one with a unique ability and a fun Volcarona-esque playstyle. Some part of me thinks it would be cooler if it were Bug/Ice with Fire moves becoming Ice via Flame Body, but then we wouldn't have Bugsicle, one of the best ability names in the entire mod, so I'm happy with how it turned out.
Certified Goodmon/10

:monferno::hoopa-unbound:
This one sure does exist, doesn't it? The whole "we need more ways to punish knock!!1" thing is extremely overstated, but at least the ability does it in a somewhat-interesting way while also giving it the option to go with funny no-item sets, single-handedly taking this from generic and boring to actually kind of okay.
Fling + Iron Ball If Real/10

:gigalith::crabominable:
I told Aquatic that if they changed the name back to Gigacrab this would win 100%, and unfortunately I was right. This mon really has no reason to exist. It overlaps with Crustboar as a slow, hard-hitting Rock-type wallbreaker, it overlaps with Pinc as an offensively-geared Rock-type Sand setter, and it's mostly outclassed by Catdog otherwise. Good meme, bad addition.
Carcinization/10

:roserade::chesnaught:
This one was cool when it was first subbed because it was novel, but I've realized since then that it's just a "haha 1.5x STAB" mon that also overlaps hard with fellow Spike-setting Sleep Powder-abusing 1.5x STAB mon Frozerade. Not much else to it tbh.
Deja Vu/10

:kecleon::calyrex-shadow:
Bootleg Chromera that lacks Chromera's typing's synergy with Color Change and lacks Boomburst (Astral Barrage really isn't the same, especially at 8pp). In other words, it's Chromera without two key things that make Chromera as good as it is, and it's not very good to begin with. Ig Plot sets can exist but considering the old mid-high speed Plot competition and the new dominant addition of Ninelands idt it stands much of a chance.
Shameless Advertising/10

Be prepared for some pretty weird opinions, because:
download (14).jpeg

:lurantis: :aerodactyl:
Coming soon to a FEUU Slate near you: Obligatory Malamar Submission This seems like it could be pretty cool with a combo of Unnerve and Contrary to help it run some p cool sets like Superpower and stuff.

:lurantis: :aerodactyl-mega:
You'd pretty much be wasting Contrary for Tough Claws, and you should definetly get the boost from Superpower and stuff before going mega. Other than that, this is cool.

:ninetales-alola: :landorus:
no lol

:aurorus: :volcarona:
Pretty much the coolest thing we got this slate (even tho I wanted Quazabra to win lol.) I was hyped when this came out, and I'm still hyped to use it. It's actually a pretty cool wallbreaker with an interesting ability (its name is actually pretty cool,) and I'd love to use it when it gets coded!

:monferno: :hoopa-unbound:
Not a big fan cuz you could basically run troll Toxic Orb/Burn Orb Fling sets to get that boost to your attacks, and Burn is pretty much annoying. Tbf, I probably won't use it :(

:gigalith: :crabominable:
Eh. It just exists as a slow hard-hitting Rock-type mon, something that Crustboar already did. This fusion just wants to steal its attention away, but even tho it could be strong, it's not for me.

:kecleon: :calyrex-shadow:
Color Change is really weird and I'm not wasting time to find out if it's useful on this mon. It could definitely be better with Protean, but then I would say it's fine I guess.

I'm pretty hyped for FERU, and also, make better subs guys.

Opinions of the subs:

Lurodactyl and his Mega Evolution: I like Contrary. This could be a fine mon. Mega is just National Dex Aerodactyl-Mega with Leaf Blade and a boosting move.

Ninelands-Alola: I'm not going to use hail and this isn't gonna change my opinion.

Aurorona: Probably my favorite sub from this slate for two reasons: 1: It reminds me of me and Sirsola and 2: Finally, we get the deserved QD mon me and a lot of people we wanted in FEUU.

Monfempa-Unbound: Not v interested on it.

Gigacrab: why

Rosenaught: I like this mon. It's cool.

Keclyrex-Shadow: Sirsola beats it

Notable Moves:
Triple Axel, Stone Edge, Earthquake, Close Combat, Knock Off
Swords Dance, Stealth Rock
Intended Role: Physical Wallbreaker, Hazard Setter (Stealth Rock)
Role Justification: ice/rock is a good offensive typing and having weavile offenses makes it real good. ice/rock is also a terrible defensive typing meaning you probably have to use hdb if sd. you also probably die to stuff like scald so maybe sd is not so good an option.

:swsh/raichu-alola::swsh/chandelure:
DNA Donors: Raichu-Alola / Chandelure
Fusion Name: Chandechu-Alola

Base Stats: 80 / 80 / 75 / 122 / 90 / 95 [BST: 542] (+20 HP / +10 Atk / +5 Def / +2 SpA / +3 SpD / +0 Spe)
New Ability: Stealthy Surfer = (Surge Surfer + Infiltrator)
Ability Description: Surge Surfer effects; If Electric Terrain is active, Infiltrator Effects
Notable Moves:
…Shadow Ball, Rising Voltage, Thunderbolt, Energy Ball, Focus Blast, Fire Blast
…Nasty Plot
Intended Role: Electric Terrain Abuser, Choice Scarf/Specs, Setup Sweeper (Nasty Plot)
Role Justification: Dedicated Electric Terrain user. uses Surge Surfer to increase speed with the added bonus of Infiltrator if Terrain is active. can setup with Nasty Plot and has surprisingly few weaknesses, all of which can be covered, but not all at once without sacrificing Nasty Plot.
has STAB Rising Voltage for a lot of damage, but Tbolt can also be run for consistency on non-terrain teams.
downsides are that its bulk is mediocre at best, so it may be hard to get it on the field.

Can you imagine the sprite on this?
:swsh/alcremie::swsh/goodra:
DNA Donors: Alcremie / Goodra
Fusion Name: Cremdra
New Types:

Base Stats: 97 / 80 / 92 / 110 / 135 / 72 [BST: 586] (+20 HP / +0 Atk / +20 Def / +0 SpA / +0 SpD / +0 Spe)
New Ability: Sticky Frosting = (Aroma Veil + Gooey)
Ability Description: Component Abilities effects.
Notable Moves:
… Dazzling Gleam, Stored Power, Draco Meteor, Fire Blast, Sludge Bomb, Thunderbolt, Psychic
… Recover, Calm Mind, Acid Armor, Aromatherapy, Toxic
Intended Role: Mixed Wall, Setup Sweeper (Calm Mind)
Role Justification: Bulky Dragon with a decent defensive typing and access to a whole lotta potions. Calm Mind helps it setup and generally not be passive. Aromatherapy cures any crippling status on it and the rest of your team. Recover helps longevity, and Toxic cripples walls.
it also has a wide variety of moves to pick and choose what you check, from Fire Blast to check Steels like Accelest and Brontun, to Sludge Bomb to take care of things like Kokovoir.
the downside? Heavy 4MSS syndrome. it can't run coverage for everything without sacrificing Calm Mind, Recover, or both, and having those will likely mean you get walled by something due to lack of coverage. dropping Aromatherapy will mean you get crippled by status, as well.
overall, it's a fat dragon with a lot of utility and coverage.

Did someone say Rillaboom?
:swsh/goodra::swsh/rillaboom:
DNA Donors: Goodra / Rillaboom
Fusion Name: Rilladra
New Types:

Base Stats: 95 / 112 / 100 / 105 / 110 / 82 [BST: 604] (+0 HP / +0 Atk / +20 Def / +20 SpA / +0 SpD / +0 Spe)
New Ability: Swampy Surge = (Grassy Surge + Hydration)
Ability Description: Component abilities effects.
Notable Moves:
… Grassy Glide, Knock Off, Wood Hammer, U-turn, Drain Punch, Outrage, Superpower
… Sludge Bomb, Thunderbolt, Flamethrower, Draco Meteor, Focus Blast
…Swords Dance
Intended Role: Setup Sweeper (Swords Dance), Grassy Terrain abuser, Choice Band/Specs
Role Justification: Grassy Glide go Brrr
this is primarily going to be using Grassy Glide to deal chunks of damage. it has all the coverage of Rillaboom, with the added effect of being somewhat usable in Rain due to Hydration. it can also run a mixed or special focused set, due to its high stats on both attacking sides.
the downsides to this are more or less the same as base Rillaboom:
  • Steel types, like Heatki, are able to comfortably switch into Grassy Glide, and threaten it with moves like Magma Storm. they have to be wary of moves like Drain Punch and Superpower, however.
  • Flying types like Corveot can similarly switch into this and force it out.
  • opposing terrain can also be an issue, though the ones who set it, like Kokovoir and Kingdeedee, likely won't want to switch into it directly.
  • one thing that's made more of a threat are Ice type moves, as they are now 4x SE against Rilladra.
JavaScript:

New Ability: Coastal Venue = (Liquid Voice + Water Compaction)
Ability Description: Effects of both
Notable Moves:
Flip Turn
Earth Power, Scorching Sands, Moonblast
Shore Up, Stealth Rock, Calm Mind
Intended Role: Special Wallbreaker, Mixed Wall, Defensive Pivot, Hazard Setter (Stealth Rock)
Role Justification: Holy fuck guys I made a defensive mon. What this mon lacks in viable moves from other types it makes up for in going absolutely insane with STAB coverage. For your ground move, you have earth power for maximizing damage or, because this can act as a nice physical wall, scorching sands for the potential burn. Shore Up is obligatory recovery and can allow for some extra shenanigans if this were ever placed in an eventual sand set. Flip turn’s used for when the stab coverage tries its best but doesn’t succeed, and calm mind and stealth rock are very self explanatory.

New Ability: Mafioso = (Intimidate + Moxie)
Ability Description: Effects of moxie. When this Pokémon faints, the opposing Pokémon’s attack stat is lowered by 1 stage.
Notable Moves:
Knock Off, Sucker Punch, Brave Bird, Earthquake

Stealth Rock, Defog
Intended Role: Physical Wallbreaker, Hazard Setter (Stealth Rock), Hazard Control (Defog)
Role Justification: I have stumbled upon what U can only describe as both a suicide lead and an early/late game sweeper. Koff sure has STAB bonus, Sucker Punch for an efficient STAB on anything faster than this, Brave Bird for a big STAB move, and Earthquake for facing rock and electric mons. Defog sure is a move that mons use. As for stealth rock, well that’s where the suicide lead thing comes in. Pop some rocks, maybe damage a bit of you’re lucky, and as it faints the ability pops, lowering the opponent’s offensive capability. Ok the other end of the ability is literally moxie, which is, y’know, moxie.

New Ability: Soul Cutter = (Screen Cleaner + Mold Breaker)
Ability Description: Effects of both
Notable Moves:
Triple Axel, Ice Shard, Dragon Claw, Earthquake, Rapid Spin

Dragon Dance
Intended Role: Physical Wallbreaker, Setup Sweeper (Dragon Dance), Hazard Control (Rapid Spin)
Role Justification: Recently in the discord someone said they felt like Mr. Rime was generally underutilized despite the tools it has. Tools such as triple Axel and rapid spin, both of which are impressive moves, that go somewhat unnoticed on Mr. Rime. That is in part due to it being a special attacker. Mr. Hax remedies this. By being not only a physical attacker but a dragon dance sweeper, this uses Mr. Rime’s latent offensive capabilities to make an incredibly offensive mon that breaks through screens and abilities alike. Ice Shard for STAB priority. Triple Axel, Dragon Claw, and EQ come together for a fully unresisted moveset while utilizing STAB and countering steel and rock mons. Top that recommended set with dragon dance and you have a bread and butter physical sweeper on your hands, with the added bonus of mold breaker and screen cleaner, of course.

New Ability: Calculator = (Analytic + Infiltrator)
Ability Description: Effects of both
Notable Moves:

Tri Attack, Shadow Ball, Focus Blast
Nasty Plot, Recover
Intended Role: Special Wallbreaker, Mixed Wall, Trick Room Abuser
Role Justification: Now first you may think “hey aren’t there already two normal ghosts in the mod?” There are, BUT those two can change types. This remains consistent. Low speed tier allows for frequent analytic usage, and infiltrator’s just a good breaker tool. Tri Attack and Shadow Ball for STAB, Focus Blast against dark mons, recover for, well, recovery, and of course Nasty Plot. At the expense of half this ability, I could see this as a good trick room sweeper, with the ability to set up NP with a low speed tier.

New Ability: Savant = (Technician + Steadfast)
Ability Description: Effects of both
Notable Moves:
X-Scissor, U-Turn, Stone Edge, Accelerock, Drill Run, Knock Off

Swords Dance, Stealth Rock
Intended Role: Physical Wallbreaker, Setup Sweeper, Offensive Pivot, Hazard Setter (Stealth Rock)
Role Justification: In most slates I focus many mons on filling out the type count, and especially as submissions for this mod are nearing an end (and while not necessary, a somewhat balanced type count would be cool to see), this is no different. While lacking a good bit of offensive prowess (which can be remedied by swords dance), bug and rock cover for each other’s weaknesses rather well, only being weak to rock, steel, and water moves (the last 2 of which tie for the most abundant type in the meta but alas). Drill Run can be used to counter steels and rocks and for water mons I once again offer the greatest gift of all: U-Turning into something else. X-Scissor and Stone Edge are classic STAB moves, and Accelerock is a STAB and ability boosted priority. Koff is just a good move for a physical attacker, there’s no way around that, and Stealth Rock’s good if you want to use this as a lead.

Ability: Master of Disguise = Illusion + Soul Heart
Ability Description: This Pokemon appears as the last Pokemon in the party until it faints.

Viable Moves:
- Knock Off, U-Turn
- Dark Pulse, Dazzling Gleam, Energy Ball, Flamethrower, Fleur Cannon, Focus Blast, Ice Beam, Thunderbolt, Volt Switch
- Heart Swap, Nasty Plot, Trick

Roles: Offensive Pivot, Choice Abuser, Setup Sweeper, Wallbreaker, Psychological Warfare

Permanent Illusion honestly isn’t all that different from regular Illusion; once Zorogear or the mon it’s disguised as takes damage you can isolate both by seeing which uses an illegal move… unless one doesn’t, which isn’t too unlikely considering the size of fusion movepools, in which case the opponent still has to be just as paranoid as they are on team preview until they can tell it apart. Actively pretending to be another mon sounds like a really fun gimmick, but even if you don’t want to play that way, Zorogear itself is still a very strong mon, with its stats combined with Plot, Pivoting, a nuke button in Fleur Cannon, and a billion coverage moves making for something very versatile and unpredictable, which only serves to make Illusion even scarier.

Intended Role: physical/special/mixed breaker, trick room abuser
Role Justification: Thanks to Tapler for letting me take this one. Special ISword with this spread makes it pretty managable, and further incentivizes Trick room builds. Notable Moves:
… Facade, Knock Off, Rapid Spin, U-Turn, Drain Punch
… Octolock, Bulk Up, Taunt, Toxic, Wish
Intended Role: stallbreaker, offensive pivot
Role Justification: Octolock is a cool trapping move that allows this mon to offer team support or just wallbreaking. With something trapped, it can proceed to break it with its 140 BP Facade, remove its item with Knock Off or pivot into an ally with U-Turn. Due to the Octolock's defense drops, pivoting out will almost always create a free turn as the defense drops weaken checks to other mons. You can also prolong your trap with Taunt and Toxic to stall your target out if you hate fun.

Intended Role: sticky webs lead, offensive pivot
Role Justification: Does normal Araquanid stuff, but it can also be a pretty awesome webs mon as a lead. Access to Taunt/Magic Coat to block other hazards or attempts to Taunt your webs improve consistency. It can pivot out with a beefy Flip Turn or just go boom as a suicide lead with Final Gambit. Role Justification: Might get vetoed on the ability but here's a shot I wanted to take. Magic Surge is really bad but a mon designed to excel under it might help it out. Intended Role: Hazards (Sticky Web, Stealth Rock), Suicide lead, Shell Smash breaker, Spinner, Gravity setter
Role Justification: Sticky Web is cool and adding Gravity to it makes it a more reliable hazard by effecting airborne mons as well. This mon is a pretty cool suicide lead as well due to its access to webs, SR and boom. As a mon, it can also set up with Shell Smash with Fire Blast and Thunder as highly reliable stabs, with Earth Power (functionally unstab Tarrows during Gravity) to fill some gaps.

Intended Role: Triple Axel and Stone Edge are incredible when you don't have to worry about the accuracy check, and the coverage here is pretty good when accompanied by Close Combat. New Ability: Flexible Fat = (Thick Fat + Protean)
Ability Description: Changes typing before using a move. This Pokémon takes 50% damage from moves of its current type
Notable Moves:
Close Combat, Earthquake, Ice Punch, Bullet Punch, Thunder Punch, Knock Off, Poison Jab, Shadow Sneak, Sucker Punch, Heavy Slam
N/A
Trick Room, Recover, Bulk Up, Reflect Type
Intended Role: Physical Wallbreaker, Trick Room Sweeper
Role Justification: Like the name of its ability, this thing is Flexible, with the Protean effect of its ability giving it STAB on its wide array of coverage moves, most notably Close Combat, Knock Off, Earthquake, Ice Punch, and Heavy Slam, which will all hit hard thanks to its high 122 Attack. Kecliyama is also fat, with decen 105/75/100 bulk and an ability that gives it one less weakness before changing type and, while not terribly useful for most types, lets it resist Fighting when using CC, Ground when using EQ, resist Normal when using Recover, and take neutral from Ghost when using Shadow Sneak. This fat lets it setup Trick Room, where it can really make use of its power. It's biggest weakness will likely be 4MSS, since it usually needs Trick Room and really wants Recover to function, but then has to choose between the super powerful Earthquake for Slowton, Hattaka, and Cofazor, Knock Off for Mesflame, Poison Jab for Tanette, Ice Punch for Glidol, Stone Edge or Thunder Punch for Toucosta and Kyottler, and Bulk Up for extra power. Oh, and it's not good at all, but because of its ability, Reflect Type almost always makes you resistant to the opponent's STAB, which is funny

:swsh/mismagius::swsh/yanmega:
spooky nasty plotter
DNA Donors: Mismagius / Yanmega
Fusion Name: Mismagmega
New Types:

Base Stats: 80 / 68 / 80 / 113 / 90 / 113 [BST: 544] (+7 HP / +0 Atk / +7 Def / +3 SpA / +10 SpD / +13 Spe)
New Ability: Ground Pound = (Levitate + Tinted Lens)
Ability Description: This Pokémon's not very effective moves and Ground-type moves deal double damage
Notable Moves:
U-Turn
Shadow Ball, Dazzling Gleam, Air Slash, Hex
Nasty Plot, Taunt, Will-O-Wisp, Roost, Calm Mind
Intended Role: Special Sweeper, Stallbreaker
Role Justification: Mismagmega is pretty one note, but it plays that note well. With great 113/113 special offenses, an interesting offensive typing in Ghost/Flying, and an amazing ability in might-as-well-as-well-be-Tinted-Lens Ground Pound, Mismagmega can be a nightmarish Nasty Plot sweeper. With a set of Shadow Ball, Dazzling Gleam, Nasty Plot, and either taunt or Roost, Mismagmega can come in on more passive walls like Tanette or Tentoxys, get up a Nasty Plot and cleave through almost the entire tier with Shadow Ball and Dazzling Gleam, bodying Mesflame, Xotalion, Buzzeggutor, Weezlord (despite its Neutralizing Gas), and Cofazor, among others. There's also the option of Calm Mind + Roost, which, if you can get set up, makes Mismagmega harder to revenge kill with Serpanadel or scarfed Special Attackers. Mismagmega definitely has its flaws, notably an atrocious defensive typing that leaves it weak to both Stealth Rock and Knock Off and it's pretty frail, which makes it quite a bit harder to set up. Plus, Weezlord sits on it if you don't run Dazzling Gleam and it has pretty bad 4MSS since any set wants 2 attacking moves + a setup move + Roost + Taunt. However, in the right circumstances, Mismagmega can easily terrorize many a team if you're not careful

New Ability: Justice Generator = (Justified + Lightning Rod)
Ability Description: Draws Dark and Electric attacks to itself and boosts Attack by 1 stage if hit by either; Dark and Electric immunity
Notable Moves:
Close Combat, Iron Head, U-Turn, Triple Axel, Knock Off, Stone Edge, Nuzzle
N/A
Swords Dance, Wish, Spiky Shield, Taunt, Will-O-Wisp, Bulk Up
Intended Role: Offensive Pivot, Physical Sweeper
Role Justification: Knock Off and Volt Switch are two amazing moves for grabbing momentum in a game, through weakening Choice/Life Orb users or getting rid of a wall's passive recovery with Knock and getting switch advantage with Volt Switch. Gallamaru looks at that and laughs in its face. Thanks to its ability, Gallamaru is able to abuse attempts to use these super common moves to come in and get a free Attack boost, taking all the momentum the opponent could've generated and taking it all for itself. From there, it can gain momentum itself by U-Turning out or deal big damage with a nice STAB combination that hits Manicuno, Weezlord, Heatki, Pincurchitar, and Cryogolem, or even try to set up with Swords Dance. You do have to be careful with it, however, since its 75/72/100 bulk is definitely not the best, especially physically, so you'll have to make some predictions to make sure you're coming in on a Knock Off or Volt Switch or TBolt or whatever. If you do, Gallamaru will more than reward you for your correct play

New Ability: Gentlemen's Agreement = (Screen Cleaner + Justified)
Ability Description: Effects of both abilities
Notable Moves:
Flip Turn
Ice Beam, Freeze-Dry, Hydro Pump, Scald, Focus Blast, Secret Sword, Thunderbolt
Nasty Plot, Slack Off, Calm Mind, Taunt
Intended Role: Special Wallbreaker, Special Sweeper
Role Justification: Ice/Water with Freeze-Dry is unresisted coverage and with 122 Special Attack, good enough 96 Speed, and Nasty Plot, Mr. Deo is well equipped to murder everything. Glidol, Kyottler, Buzzeggutor, Dracolix, Flygalge and more fold to this Rime Ranger and that's before a Nasty Plot. Plus, if you forgo Nasty Plot and go Choiced, it can keep up momentum with Flip Turn. just be careful as, even with decent 105/90/95 bulk, it's an Ice-type, so it comes with a Rocks weakness and get revenge killed by Ninjacross, Serpanadel (unless you run Ice Shard like a crackhead), Lycanserker, and others.

New Ability: First Responder = (Ice Body + Speed Boost)
Ability Description: This Pokémon heals 1/16 of its max HP and its Speed goes up by 1 stage at the end of every turn
Notable Moves:
Flip Turn
Ice Beam, Dark Pulse, Freeze-Dry, Focus Blast, Psychic, Hydro Pump
Nasty Plot, Taunt, Protect
Intended Role: Special Sweeper, Cleaner
Role Justification: Base Mr. Sharp has a great 113 SpA stat with a Speed Boost clone for an ability, which allows it to be a nasty cleaner or sweeper if it manages to get a Nasty Plot up thanks to it be impervious to revenge killing without priority or a Ninjacross. Helping matters is Mr. Sharp's amazing STAB coverage with Ice Beam + Dark Pulse + Freeze-Dry that hits almost everything, including Mesflame, Kyottler, Swannamence, and Dracolix while having Focus Blast for Arctres. Mr. Sharp is extremely frail with an atrocious defensive typing, so it may struggle to set up, plus it's vulnerable to priority from Lycanserker and Dragontler but if you can get set up, you'll have fun.

Notable Moves:

Intended Role: Cleaner, Physical Wallbreaker
Role Justification: Come in lategame, stay in base form for a turn to get a Speed Boost, then Mega and go to town with STAB Crunches and Ice Fangs/Triple Axels, which your coverage rounded out with your choice of Earthquake for Heatki, Close Combat for Brontun and Ferros, or Poison Jab for Weezlord. Ability Description: This Pokémon's Special Attack goes up by 1 after attacking and KOing a Pokémon
Notable Moves:
U-Turn
Fire Blast, Thunderbolt, Ice Beam, Flash Cannon, Techno Blast, Psychic, Energy Ball
Rock Polish, Will-O-Wisp, Work Up, Taunt
Intended Role: Setup Sweeper, Cleaner
Role Justification: With Grim Neigh, Pyrosect can fit in nicely as a late game cleaner, being able to quickly snowball out of control after netting a KO on a weakened foe. Steel/Fire STAB coverage hits Weezlord, Cofazor, Corveot, and Hattaka while also giving it a number of resistances that allows Pyrosect to come in on the previously mentioned, as well as the numerous Fairy and Poison-types in the tier like Flygalge and Tanette. Pyrosect can either set up with Rock Polish/Shift Gear or rock a Choice Specs or Scarf and cleave through the opponent's team or even pack a Douse Drive to give the Fire-types that resist its STABs like Heatki and Arctres a nasty surprise.

Ability Description: Effects of both abilities.
Notable Moves:
Sacred Fire, Extreme Speed, Iron Head
Teleport, Morning Sun, Will-o-Wisp
Intended Role: Banded Physical Sweeper and Physical Pseudo-Wall
Role Justification: Arcatei is a fairly standard band user, with several good move options to choose between. Sacred Fire is its STAB of choice, hitting extremely hard and having a good chance of inflicting Burn. It also has Extreme Speed for priority, and Iron Head for coverage. It can easily pivot out with Teleport, and can tank a good number of physical attacks thanks to easy Burn spreading, Intimidate, and Morning Sun.

Intended Role: Physical Wall, Special Sweeper (Mega Camerupt)

… Toxic, Swords Dance, Taunt, Leech Seed, Trick Room, Aromatherapy(?)
Intended Role: Set-Up Sweeper (Swords Dance), Field Setter (Trick Room), Field Abuser (Trick Room), Physical Wall
Role Justification: a very simple pokemon. you set-up trick room, you click swords dance and you do what you can until trick room runs out. otherwise just a pretty bulky mon with reliable-ish recovery in Leech Seed.

Ability Description: Both effects combined.
Notable Moves:

… Parting Shot, Taunt, Hone Claws, Bulk Up
Intended Role: Set-Up Sweeper (Hone Claws, Bulk Up), Pivot (Parting Shot), Choice Band
Role Justification: with hone claws, it hits hard with its Stone Edge and Gunk Shot, that now are alot more reliable since they miss less now. with Bulk Up, both of its main stats (beeing attack and defense) get boosted, making it hard-ish to KO with physical attacks, while it most likely OHKO's its targets with its powerful attacks. aside from that, its good-ish speed tier helps it with pivoting around with Parting Shot. choice band also lets it do big damage quickly.

… Ice Beam, Earth Power, Fire Blast, Blizzard, Focus Blast(?), Sludge Wave(?), Thunderbolt
… Belly Drum, Swords Dance, Hone Claws, Curse, Stealth Rock
Intended Role: Hazard Setter (Stealth Rock), Wallbreaker
Role Justification: 100/103/82 defenses can probably let it tank atleast something to get off a stealth rock. it hits incredibly hard with sheer force and life orb, having the best offensive typing in the game.

Intended Role: Mixed Wall

Thunder Wave, Will-o-Wisp, Nasty Plot, Calm Mind, Taunt
Intended Role: Special Wallbreaker
Role Justification: A Fairy-type NP sweeper unafraid of steels due to a 93% accurate STAB Blue Flare. Notable Moves:
Close Combat, Body Slam, Mach Punch, Bullet Punch, Poison Jab, Stone Edge, Play Rough, Blaze Kick, Earthquake

Thunder Wave, Milk Drink, Bulk Up
Intended Role: Bulk Up wallbreaker who can sponge paralysis.
Role Justification: Paralysis is a difficult status for frailer offensive teams to handle, and Hitmontank can switch into predicted t-waves and weak t-bolts without fear of paralysis. It also has perfect coverage in the form of Scrappy + Normal + Fighting, meaning that it can leave a scratch on some teams. Dragon Dance, Swords Dance, Taunt
Intended Role: Sweeper (SD, DD)
Role Justification: It’s a frail Ice-type sweeper with good coverage, and a neat attack stat before boosting. While on paper this may be scary, the poor defensive typing holds it back, as strong priority takes out DD sets, while scarfers destroy the SD sets.

Notable Moves:
Surging Strikes (Close Combat, Ice Punch, Wild Charge)
Flamethrower, Focus Blast, Scald, Thunderbolt (Volt Switch)
(Bulk Up, Taunt)
Intended Role: Setup Sweeper (Surging Strikes, Bulk Up?)
Role Justification: Using its ability, Manshifu can raise its Special Attack by 3 using Surging Strikes. However, the BP of its STAB is really weak and the lack of Ice coverage lets it be walled by Flygalge and Dracolix, along with other Special Walls like Slowton. It does have Ice coverage if you run a mixed or physical set, though.

Preview: Rime fusion that remedies the poor type through Libero; Bulk Up Slack Off set-up sweeper
New Types:

Base Stats: 80 / 100 / 95 / 87 / 95 / 106 [BST: 563] (+0 HP / +0 Atk / +20 Def / +0 SpA / +8 SpD / +12 Spe)
New Ability: Sports Showtime = (Libero + Ice Body)
Ability Description: Libero + heals 1/16 max HP when using a move

Notable Moves:
High Jump Kick, Ice Shard, Pyro Ball, Rapid Spin, Triple Axel, U-Turn
Bulk Up, Slack Off, Trick

Intended Role: Set-Up Sweeper (Bulk Up), Offensive Pivot
Role Justification: Rime has a pretty funky movepool that it barely gets to use out of poor typing. Sports Showtime somewhat remedy that, and as a bonus gives it a pseudo Leftovers. We don't have much for Physical Fire in terms of anything fast, and this settles itself nicely through its strong Ice coverage and relatively decent Bulk when taking the constant healing into account. Said bulk also allows it to run Bulk Up sets, slowly healing off while increasing its own physical bulk. Slack off is an option for that set as well. Ice Shard for STAB Priority is pretty nice but a lot of our fast mons are Fighting and you'd be making yourself weak to them which is kinda sad.

Preview: Wallbreaker that traps with Spirit Shackle to then abuse Fire Lash's Defense drops; doubles as a burn-spreading physical wall
New Types:

Base Stats: 90 / 120 / 80 / 95 / 95 / 87 [BST: 567] (+1 HP / +9 Atk / +10 Def / +0 SpA / +0 SpD / +20 Spe)
New Ability: Fire Starter = (Long Reach + Flame Body)
Ability Description: Effects of Flame Body + contact moves have a 30% burn chance

Notable Moves:
Fire Lash, Knock Off, Spirit Shackle, U-Turn
Coil, Roost

Intended Role: Physically Defensive, Status Spreading, Wallbreaker
Role Justification: Spirit Shackle into fire Lash is real nice and allows this to function as a pretty good Wallbreaker, specially with Roost at its disposal. It absorbs U-Turn pretty nicely and has a decent chance at screwing over opposing pivots through the ability. Speaking of the ability, it makes Deciduskorch really hard to switch into thanks to the Burn chance. Other than the previously mentioned Wallbreaking capabilities, it can trap a foe and attempt to burn it to then set up with Coil and Roost. Lastly, it also works pretty well as a Physical Wall thanks to the Burn Spreading. Knock Off, U-Turn and Roost would be your best assets there, although its typing is not very good for a Physical Wall.

New Ability: Pixel Crystal = (Download + Prism Armor)
Ability Description: Effects of both abilities

Notable Moves:
Knock Off?
Earth Power, Heat Wave, Ice Beam, Photon Geyser, Thunderbolt, Tri Attack
Calm Mind, Nasty Plot, Recover, Stealth Rock

Intended Role: Special Breaker
Role Justification: Made for a cool interaction between Download and Photon Geyser. It is otherwise pretty simillar to Porygon-Z but with better STAB and wider Coverage (Notably now being able to hit Steels through Heat Wave or Earth Power). Gets Ultra shat on by Arctres though. It can force out quite a bunch of walls thanks to Photon Download, but can't do that many times over in a match thanks to low PP. Nasty Plot and Recover make it quite efficient at Wallbreaking as well.

New Ability: Crystal Clear = (Sheer Force + Clear Body)
Ability Description: Effects of both abilities

Notable Moves:
Earthquake, Fire Punch, Play Rough, Poison Jab
Earth Power, Fire Blast, Moonblast, Sludge Wave
Stealth Rock

Intended Role: Special Wallbreaker (Ability)
Role Justification: Life Orb backed by powerful STABs sheer Force makes this a very strong wallbreaker. Unless I've missed any ability, Earth Power / Fire Blast / Moonblast / Sludge Wave is unresisted. This lass' large amount of Special Coverage allows for some experimentation with the sets, being able to carry niche stuff like Ice Beam for Glidol and Flygalge, or try out a mixed set to abuse some of its physical coverage. Overall though, its primary sets would be Special Wallbreakers, with wide coverage that makes it quite difficult to wall. Its neutral bulk makes switching in quite comfy, having just about as much bulk as Mew. As a downside though, its Speed leaves it outsped by a considerably large portion of the metagame, with staples such as Manicuno, Landmaldo and Lycanserker greatly threatening it

New Ability: Parroting = (Dancer + Protean)
Ability Description: Protean effects, copies moves that match its current type (Unless they were used by a Dancer-variant ability)

Notable Moves:
U-Turn
Hurricane, Hydro Pump, Ice Beam, Water Shuriken
Spikes

Intended Role: Special Sweeper
Role Justification: Bootleg Greninja, but it is able to switch into Volt Switch and Parting shot to copy the move for a grab in momentum. Struggles pretty hard against Ferros because its main moves are Water / Flying / Ice and its one Electric move changes with Type.

Has a pretty interesting gimmick with Protean + Revelation Dance in that it can use something like Spikes, turning Revelation Dance into a Ground move. Not a super viable strategy but helps it deal with Ferros

Notable Moves:
… U-turn, Knock off, Sucker punch
… Dark Pulse, Air Slash, Sludge Bomb
… Nasty plot, Roost, Defog
Intended Role: Setup Sweeper
Role Justification: What makes this thing an effective setup sweeper is pretty obvious with nasty plot, its decent offensive typing, and coverage for its weaknesses. What Really makes this mon unique is its ability. This mon has the stats to put in work without its ability, and after it gets ko'ed you cripple your opponent forcing them to either switch while you set up with your next mon or get an easy revenge kill

Role Justification: Wall with a good typing (especially when taking into account it's ability) that also acts as a pivot thanks to Volt Switch and U-Turn (not sure which one it'd use) and it's resistance to SR, can phaze opponents, and set Rocks. Basically does Hippowdon stuff but with a better typing and ability, less bulk, and pivoting.

New Ability: Smart Oil = (Analytic + Gooey)
Ability Description: If the user moves last, the opponent has its Spe lowered by 1 stage
Notable Moves:

...

Okay, excuse me for the cringe I did on purpose, here's the proper viable set of moves:
Rapid Spin, Flip Turn
Scald, Hydro Pump, Draco Meteor, Meteor Beam, Thunderbolt, Ice Beam, Sludge Bomb
Recover, Teleport, Thunder Wave, Trick
Intended Role: Defensive Pivot, Hazard Control (Rapid Spin), Setup Sweeper, Choice Specs
Role Justification: While Druddifini has better stats and protects a team from status, this opens room for a burn spreader with Scald that still keeps the potential for the rest of a team to spread status as desired, but most notably beyond the obvious Rapid Spin, its ability allows it to snowball a bit against offensive teams with a Choice Specs, as alongside decent bulk it can often outspeed mons while abusing its passable SpA, with Trick and Flip Turn complementing this well, especially with the ability triggering on a opposing switch-in as soon as a move is done last, meaning that switching in a fast mon often won't be enought to outspeed this.

But the best part is its ability turning Teleport into a very solid move for offensive mons. Ever wished you could be sure to outspeed a mon? Just pivot with this and now the opponent has its Speed lowered by 1 stage as your other mon also safely comes in. However, the stats of this aren't particularly strong, and so it's prone to being overwhelmed.

Offensively Checks: Water types, Fire types, Ice types without Freeze-Dry
Defensively Checked by: Brontun, Slowton, Jelliswine, Tentoxys-Defense, Snortine, Sablenite Absable, Kingdeedee
Soft-Checked by: Whimsilotic, Ferros, Druddifini (They struggle with Specs Thunderbolt), Tanette (Dislikes Ice Beam and Sludge Bomb)

New Ability: Magic Body = (Ice Body + Magic Guard)
Ability Description: Magic Guard effects. Whenever it triggers, the user heals 1/16 of max HP
Notable Moves:
Knock Off, Rapid Spin
Psychic, Moonblast, Focus Blast, Flamethrower, Ice Beam, Freeze-Dry, Thunderbolt, Stored Power
Stealth Rock, Nasty Plot, Calm Mind, Soft-Boiled, Slack Off, Wish, Teleport, Heal Bell, Thunder Wave
Intended Role: Hazard Control (Rapid Spin), Hazard Setter (Stealth Rock), Cleric, Setup Sweeper, Defensive Pivot, Wall, Stallbreaker
Role Justification: I'm aware that there's a ton of Mr. Rime competition right now, but this really stands out as it can fill a ton of roles, but most importantly it eases a lot the match-up against hazard setters. Its ability also provides it with a ton of longevity, and appreciates would-be chip damage, such as sand or hail, and of course status actually healing it, and so a Flame Orb may not even be a bad idea to also act as a status (And Knock Off) absorber. However, its typing isn't as strong as vanilla Clef, and so it struggles against the ton of Ghost types in the meta, for example.

Notable Moves:
U-Turn, Knock Off
Dark Pulse, Dazzling Gleam, Psychic, Psyshock, Mystical Fire
Nasty Plot, Trick, Healing Wish
Intended Role: Offensive Pivot, Wallbreaker, Choice Specs
Role Justification: While it may struggle at times to safely come in, it threatens out mons that can hit it super effectively, and so it has to pick either hope for a OHKO or be OHKO'd back, or just pivot out for later. In any case it is hard to switch into out of unresisted STABs and just the amount of utility it needs to complement it. Mystical Fire hits Steel types (maximixing the chances for it KOing (some of) them), and Psychic also annoys Poison types, although it's more niche overall.

"We don't need another mono-Psychic nor a Gardevoir fusion"

New Types:

Base Stats: 93 / 120 / 105 / 150 / 125 / 105 [BST: 698] (+19 HP / +20 Atk / +8 Def / +40 SpA / +23 SpD / +30 Spe)
New Ability: Pixilate
Ability Description: User's Normal type moves become Fairy type and do x1.2 damage

Notable Moves:
Zen Headbutt, Fire Punch, Knock Off, Earthquake, Hammer Arm, Body Press
Psychic, Stored Power, Mystical Fire, Moonblast, Focus Blast, Hyper Voice
Stealth Rock, Calm Mind, Wish, Teleport, Trick, Thunder Wave, Will-o-Wisp
Intended Role: Setup Check, Defensive Pivot, Choice Scarf, Setup Sweeper, Wallbreaker
Role Justification: Being able to disrupt rampant setup mons from sweeping your team by bringing this in and making such backfire turns this mon into a legitimate alternative for offensive teams that require some multi-purpose counterplay. While its typing isn't something to write home about, it does hold some strong stats to back it up, and comes with two excellent megas. Metagrossite allows it to become a strong fast mon that's not easy to KO out of the sheer bulk, while Gardevoirite goes as a wallbreaker out of having pseudo-STAB in Hyper Voice to back it up and higher offenses.

"Another Salamence and Jellicent fusion? No..."
Geez...ing man, be more patient, this is a Water Spout abuser

New Types:

Base Stats: 100 / 97 / 77 / 104 / 100 / 100 [BST: 578] (+3 HP / +0 Atk / +2 Def / +7 SpA / +8 SpD / +20 Spe)

Fusion Name: Mega Salicent
New Types:

Base Stats: 100 / 107 / 127 / 114 / 110 / 120 [BST: 678] (+3 HP / +10 Atk / +52 Def / +17 SpA / +18 SpD / +40 Spe)
New Ability: Aerilate
Ability Description: User's Normal type moves become Flying type and are boosted by x1.2

Notable Moves:
Liquidation, Double-Edge, Earthquake
Scald, Water Spout, Hydro Pump, Hurricane, Air Slash, Draco Meteor, Hyper Voice
Recover, Roost, Strength Sap, Wish, Will-o-Wisp, Roar, Trick, Dragon Dance
Intended Role: Rain Abuser, Wallbreaker, Choice Specs, Setup Sweeper, Special Wall
Role Justification: While its typing reminds of Toucosta, this mon is far more suited as a special wall than a physical one. In addition, Water Spout alongside instant longevity out of its ability allows it to consistently spam a 150 BP move fairly often, it also comes with a nice amount of coverage to hit what its STABs can't, but Draco Meteor is the best one here given its sheer potency and the mon probably switching out afterwards anyways. Physical sets also don't look bad for Salamencite sets out of Dragon Dance turning it into a scary setup sweeper, however, note that it's weak to SR, and in fact, as its ability heals as much as SR would do damage, the mon really appreciates hazard control support, and of course safe pivoting.

Fusion: Kelandeo
Type: Fighting / Steel
Stat Distribution: 75 / 76 / 92 / 120 / 87 / 99 (+ HP / + Atk / + Def / +20 SpA / + SpD / +20 Spe)
Ability: Justified Body (Justified + Clear Body)
Ability Description: Combination of Justified and Clear Body

Relevant Moves:

- Aqua Jet, Flip Turn, Sacred Sword

- Air Slash, Flash Cannon, Focus Blast, Hydro Pump, Scald, Secret Sword, Discharge, Power Gem, Thunderbolt, Volt Switch

1628168507903.png

- Calm Mind, Taunt, Thunder Wave

Intended Role: Special Cleaner, Set Up Sweeper, Offensive Pivot, Stallbreaker

Role Justification: Kelandeo is a versatile threat that can run a great multitude of sets with an auspicious typing that lets it resist Rock-, Dark-, and Ice-type moves, as well as serviceable defensive stats, being able to live most hits at least once, letting it be able to perform as a very solid pivot. It also has access to good utility options, such as Scald, Taunt, and Thunder Wave, letting it shut down other offensive threats decently due to its generally alright Speed tier. It has great coverage and the ability to set up with Calm Mind and perform as a dangerous set-up sweeper or late-game cleaner. However, Kelandeo does having some notable weaknesses. It's typing, while good, has weaknesses to strong offensive typings such as Ground, Fire, and Fighting. This means that its defensive utility is somewhat limited. It also lacks recovery, leaving it extremely susceptible to chip damage. It also relies greatly on setting up to do true damage, due to its unboosted damage output being generally unimpressive at most.

Type: Electric / Water
Stat Distribution: 80 / 80 / 65 / 122 / 65 / 130 (+10 HP / + Atk / +3 Def / +7 SpA / +3 SpD / +18 Spe)
Ability: Taser Gun
Ability Description: This Pokémon’s critical hit chance is boosted when it is hit by an Electric-type move; Electric-type immunity
Relevant Moves:

- U-Turn
1628881920615.png
- Flamethrower, Overheat, Signal Beam, Thunder, Thunderbolt, Volt Switch, Dark Pulse, Hydro Pump, Ice Beam, Scald, Shadow Ball, Snipe Shot
1628881931370.png
- Switcheroo, Focus Energy

Intended Role: Special Cleaner, Offensive Pivot

Role Justification: Manecteleon sports a unique mix of power, speed, and typing to carve it a spot as a specially based cleaner. A very high special attacking stat along with solid coverage options such as Flamethrower, Overheat, Signal Beam, Dark Pulse, and Ice Beam, as well as a solid STAB combination allow it to decently overwhelm teams with strong coverage options. It also has a very high Speed tier, allowing it a jump on many threats. It also has an ability that increases its critical hit rate, and in conjunction with its high Speed tier and Focus Energy, it can perform as a strong set up sweeper. However, Manecteleon is very frail, meaning that it has a tough time switching in. This issue is somewhat alleviated by the ability to freely pivot into Electric-moves, as well as a typing that lets it have a great amount of resistances. However, it’s poor bulk is still major when facing super effective moves and even certain neutral hits.
