Futurama Returning To Comedy Central Early '10

The question here is, what will Frye and Leela's relationship be like? Despite the blithering stupidity, Frye has received a lot of character development.

Sikh assassin: haha oops.

In the 4th movie they had them getting together you can assume theyll be a couple from the first new episode.

My biggest concern is that the 4th movie ended with them all being fugitives and going through a wormhole unsure of where theyd end up. Wonder if theyll ignore that or actually keep going with it.

They could just have them end up in another end of the universe and take away every character that wasnt on the ship, but that would mean no zap brannigan :(.

edit: can we get a title change? (returning to comedy central)

What about Phil LaMarr? That's a voice actor that just can't be replaced.

Also, I'm sick of all these dead shows getting revived. Nobody can just leave well enough alone anymore.

Futurama ended way before its time DM so I, personally, am happy to see it return. Until the first few episodes blow and make me hate it like some other animated series..

edit: adjusted the title hope that's ok

XDXDXDXD

The Ally Mcbeal Episode...

"Go camera 1!"
*whirrrrr*
"Go camera 2!"
*whirrrrr*
"Go camera 3!"
*whirrrrrrrrrr*

Yeah...providing the movies are included, it'll be awkward (though no doubt funny) how they'll re-re-launch the TV series considering the events of the final movie.

The movies were wretched, and I think it pretty well indicates that, as with almost any work of art in the world, the creative force behind it taking a break spells death for the series, no matter how soon they decide to unfortunately reunite. It works out 1/10 times and fails the other 9/10 I would estimate, and this time certainly seems to have failed. The only reason I still include seems is that I do think the logic that the failure was trying to force it into a movie format instead of television could be the failing...but I still doubt that.

On July 31, 2009 a message from Maurice LaMarche was sent to members of the "Save the Voices of Futurama" group on Facebook. In the message, he announced that the original cast would be returning for the new episodes. The Toronto Star confirmed, announcing on their website that the original cast of Futurama have signed contracts with Fox to return for 26 more episodes.

He won't be replaced, thankfully.

I wouldnt say they were at all.

The first and second were as good as funny average episode but with good stories (especially the first). The third was pretty average and the fourth was just good, though I thought the ending sucked.

Incidentally, benders big score is on now.

This is terrific news. Futurama is one of the most kickass shows I've ever seen. It's been a while since I've actually seen it though...

I'm absolutely terrified of Futurama's return. Don't get me wrong, I've loved the show since I first saw it, but I'm just hoping it won't go down like The Simpsons or Scrubs. I generally found the 3 movies they released really unfunny and just a rush to through in as many character subplots as possible (similar to the latest Simpsons episodes).

However, I would love to be proven wrong and would be overjoyed to see the show coming back stronger then ever. :)

There are 4 movies ;)

Also IMO the first movie was very good (the rest just felt like long episodes to me).

Personally I hope that everything that happened in the movies is kept separate from regular episodes. It seemed to me the 4th movie ended with no intention of continuing.

Regardless, I'm excited.

I'm pumped. Futurama wa the first comedy central show I watched as a pup. Really hoping they don't pull a Scrubs, too, though.

Yeah, I cant really say Im expecting it to be as good as the old ones but I dont totally doubt they will be.

And seriously the abc scrubs episodes sucked dick.

I used to watch this show.
I loved it. Still Like it.

My favorite character, Bender, for just being himself.

I personally am thrilled that they're finally bringing this back; I'm sick of all these shows ending before their time. Also I didn't see the last 2 movies D:

The only counterexample I can think of is Firefly / Serenity, sadly. Thankfully, that was an excellent revival.
