GameStop Deoxys

The max number of wondercards you can hold is 3 I believe. I currently have Manaphy/Darkrai/Deoxys all waiting for time to SR usable ones.

It's one per cart. Unless you restart your game, you can't get another one.

You guys should probably stay away from Adamant/Jolly Deoxys, there is no access to the elemental punches which are vital to the sets.

Also, Idk if anyone pointed this out yet, but the ID#s of both the Deoxys and the Darkrai correspond to dates of the event. Deoxys is 06218 (6/21/2008), todays date.

Does this mean that the ID# will be different depending on which day you get the Mystery Gift? Or will it change dynamically based on the ingame clock or what?

In other news, I've gotten a Hardy Deoxys with 31 IVs in Defense and Speed. Too bad a) the SpAtk sucked and b) I was looking for a Deoxys-A/S candidate. *continues SRing for decent IV/Nature combo*
 
Stopped by gamestop yesterday... no clue about the deoxys event inside the store, nobody with a ds around at all, despite being a bit crowded, no posters or anything.

I figured, meh, no chance anyways, closed my ds as it was searching, take a peek around, and head home...

Forgot to turn it off, but... I take a look.... "do you want to download this event?" I say "yes" (I'm at home, far from gamestop) it "downloads and saves" ... and now I have a deoxys wondercard. Interestingly, the date is the 21st, not the 20th, the date I got the wondercard originally on.

My ID number is 06218, which means the ID is generated on when you accept the wondercard, not the date it was originally downloaded. Possibly its based on the ds clock from the download time, but I'm unsure of how the coding for wondercards works exactly.
 
I got fairly lucky on my first Deoxys. It's Rash nature with 2/31/10/31/5/10 IVs with Speed last. I decided to keep it and it currently has Psycho Boost, Superpower, Ice Beam, and Thunderbolt.

I dunno... I got and accepted on the 21st, but my DS, which is borrowed, is off by a lot.

EDIT: I have the 06218 ID, but my DS thinks today is June 14th
 
The ID is pre-set by the cartridge. It was made to match the date of the event, but it doesn't do any checks against the DS timestamp.

I am soft-resetting for a Hasty/Naive one with good IVs.

Hmmm... you know, I bet the ID for this weekend is just 06218 now, and I bet anyone who downloaded on the 20th got the same ID.

Well, wild speculation is always fun, even if I was totally off...
 
My time at Gamestop yesterday turned out to be a great success. I went there with a friend and immediately on arrival we saw two posters outside the store like we expected, and went inside. We both went in and opened our DS's and got the Deoxys's downloaded. I got two for having both games. We tooled around a bit in the store, and I got a copy of No More Heroes, which is pretty fun. I suppose I'll start SRing later today and come back here with some statistics. What should I look for IV and Nature wise with an Attack form and Defense form? Something that would be acceptable.

Right, I got mine on Friday and it was 06218. That day was the 20th. It's the same for all this weekend, at least. We'll find out if it's any different next weekend, but I doubt it is.

I'd imagine max HP for Defense and max Speed for Attack, with something between 28-31 for the relevant attack/defense stats. This is ideally, practically I'd probably settle for anything that's not a total piece of shit. (+Defense/-Speed on a Deoxys-A candidate lolwut?) <_<

For the +Speed natures, Speed should AT LEAST be 27. This will allow Deoxys to outrun a Dragon Danced Adamant Rayquaza. Focus on the special attack first IMO, then the Attack stat. So try to get 26+ in Special Attack and 23+ in Attack

Actually, the Spiker set mentions Psychic being replaceable if you've already got Heracross covered. Without Psychic, that set would only have Knock Off as its only attacking move, something you don't want to invest any EVs into anyways. A Deoxys like that could run a max possible speed and/or invest really heavily into its defenses.

Then again, I'd only experiment with a set like that if I had a lot of Deoxys to play with... oh wait, I do. :) (But that means I agree with the assessment of "toss it.")
 
I went to gamestop and got 3 today, and I couldn't get it from the car and I was right outside the store lol. First I went in and did all three games, but realized I didn't activate the event, just activated the mystery gift, so I had to do it again >.>

What do you guys think I should aim for? I'm thinking of just getting a good speed form, and then trying for a defense form, and then just keeping one for a while incase I want something different in the future.

What natures for the speed form? Mild/Rash/Naive/Hasty? I'm not looking for the toxistall version, more of the mix sweeper.

Sure hope they do it next weekend, the stores in my city are pretty bad at following their own advertisements.

Well, I went by my Gamestop after it closed and the signal was still broadcasting. I thought I might as well try, and I'm glad I did.

Rumor has it that Platinum will have backwards compatability, so it might not be a total loss.
Either that, or the battle fronteir will have the old move tutors - again, unconfirmed, but entirely possible.


Just some food for thought.
 
So, Saturday, I went to one of my local Gamestops. Surprisingly, I was the only one there downloading Deoxys. I ran in, and within a couple of minutes, I was out. ToysRus was better, it had more people =/
