Garchomp Substitutes

OK, so Garchomp has been moved to Uber. As previously said in other forums, nothing can replace him, but there are substitutes. I have only used Garchomp in one of my six teams. List your ideas for substitutes in this forum. This forum is not about how the metagame will be affected. Personally, I think Skiddle's Gliscor is an appropriate substitute. http://www.smogon.com/forums/showthread.php?t=44609

Nothing can replace Garchomp, which includes his typing, exact movepool, his ability and unique combination of stats.

As for role of physical sweeper etc, there's the rest of Ou to consider.

Q. Whats fast and can Swords dance?

A. Luario.

QII. What can FSU after a Swords Dance?

A. Scizor.

QIII. Who can revenge kill like its there job?

A. Sky Shyaminminmin.

EDIT:

QIV: Whos is the most underrated sweeper in the game?

A. Mismagus.

Nothing will ever replace garchomp, everyone should forget garchomp even existed and adjust their teams accordingly. really this is as stupid as asking for a dugtrio "substitute".

Gliscor is nowhere near a "substitute" as it gets walled easily even with swords dance, and doesn't get dragon STAB.

I already said, things that can perform near the same role.

I didn't know that Garchomp held a monopoly on all of those roles.

People have been using Pokemon that aren't Garchomp in their teams successfully since the beginning of Pokemon. There's no need for a thread like this.

Quite frankly, I've never used Garchomp in my whole pokemon Diamond/Pearl playing so a metagame without Garchomp is like nothing to me:)

Outrage becomes a platinum move tutor move

Substitute = Flygon if it gets it

Flygon also can do special sweeping better w/ earth power.

No, just no.

We shouldn't be pursuing a Garchomp substitute. There's a REASON we banned it. We have more options now, it's stupid to think we need a gamebreaking dragon in every team. (Which we might have to go through again with Salamance and Outrage.)

Anyways, just let the land shark ascend to a higher plane of existence, and find other ways to play the game.

Now that the only dragons in the game are both weak to Stone Edge, I'm thinking I am going to change that Gliscor set to have Stone Edge instead of Ice Fang.

I was actually going to say "my gliscor" but you beat me to it.

Flygon is getting Outrage in Platinum so I'm thinking with Roost, Levitate, STAB EQ and Outrage, and also SR resistance, Flygon could become a decent pokemon again.

Rock Polish Rhyperior could be an interesting option. I don't know why it wasn't used before. If you can get it in on a physical attack (not close combat or waterfall mind you) and set up a Rock Polish it's pretty hard to stop. Anything that can outrun it can't really OHKO it.

@Khyl: the reason people are struggling to replace Garchomp is that it's a good sweeper and it's immune to Electric. It's probably the game's best electric immune so now people are looking for more offensive ground options. Swampert isn't fast enough and Flygon isn't too fantastic (yet) so people are trying to check out other ground sweepers.

Special sweeping better? lol. I believe Garchomp also learns Earth power in Platinum, but nevertheless with an 80 special attack stat (which interestingly enough they both share), it won't be doing much with an attack with 90 base power. Flygon's attack is drastically lower with no way of boosting it (as far as Platinum coverage goes), it's slightly slower, not to mention it has much weaker defenses. The only advantage it could claim over Garchomp is Roost, immunity to spikes/toxic spikes, and U-Turn. Hooray!

You said it yourself. If you want another physical attacking pokemon, take a look through the analysis's on the site.
