Rules
This is a Generation 9 Random Battle tournament
Matches in Swiss rounds are Best-of-Three (first to two (2) wins)
We strongly recommend familiarizing yourself with the Smogon Tournament Rules and General Guidelines
We recommend games are played on the main Pokemon Showdown server. Smogtours is allowed, but if players can’t agree on a server, main is the default option

In order to schedule with your opponent, please follow the scheduling guidelines!
- Scheduling for this tournament must be done publicly on Smogon Walls. If hosts cannot see evidence of scheduling, you may be incorrectly seen as inactive.
On Friday, May 16th, Hosts will be checking for scheduling attempts by all players. An Inactive Player List of people who hosts could not find any evidence of scheduling (no matter how small) will then be posted in this thread, and all players on the list will be tagged. This tag serves as a final reminder to schedule and play your game.At the end of the week, any player on the Inactive Player List who did not play their game will be removed from the tournament.If a player receives 2 activity losses in a row (IE last round & this round), they will also be automatically dropped from the tournament.If you are going to get dropped out for any reason, but still want to be in the tournament (and therefore want an opponent next round) you must post in the thread saying you wish to stay in the tournament. There are no penalties for being inactive, and you do not need to provide a reason to stay in the tournament. All we need to know is that you still want to play.
no act sweeps/host drops as this is the last week of swiss- Extensions will only be granted under the most extreme circumstances. Even a single extension requires significant admin overhead, and the amount of extra work for each extra extension is exponentially higher. For this reason, assume that you will not be able to get an extension, and make every effort to play your game.
- We will not be coinflipping games for any reason. If a game wasn’t played; hosts will either award the win to the better scheduler (an activity win) or to nobody at all. Because of this & the lack of extensions, we strongly recommend you make every effort to play your games.
Dropping Out
In addition to the automatic drops as seen above, players may choose to voluntarily drop out at any time. If you don’t want to be in the tournament, simply post in this thread asking to be dropped and we will remove you from all future rounds. If you change your mind, post again asking to be reinstated – don’t just delete your drop post.
Throwing/Match-fixing
Throwing/match-fixing because you wish to drop out will be seen as unsportsmanlike conduct, and may come with penalties such as a tournament infraction or denying you of all points from this tournament. Moderators and tournament hosts have full discretion for what counts as unsportsmanlike conduct.

Whenever you win a game in this tournament, you will earn 1 point towards the Random Battles Circuit. After every 3 wins, the points you earn will increase by 1. This means your first three wins are worth 1 point, wins 4-6 are worth 2, and so on.
There are 10 Swiss rounds before top cut, at which point the top 16 players (sorted by score and then by resistance) will qualify for the top cut portion of the tournament.
Resistance is calculated by taking the average Winrate of all your opponents (where any opponent with less than a 25% winrate counts as 25%)
If you are still tied based on this score, you then are compared by the winrates of all your opponents opponents. Please refer to the Standings Spreadsheet to see your rank as the tournament progresses.

The winner of this tournament will receive the Room Prize Winner rank in the Random Battles room for a month and be inducted into the Randbats Hall of Fame. All players who have won at least 1 match will be awarded circuit points, giving them a chance to enter the Circuit Playoffs.
