Pet Mod Generation X (Region 2 - Completed, Playtesting)

No one of the Starter Movepools submissions included an exclusive move. Do we want them?

  • Make the submitters of the winning movepools suggest the exclusive moves (they won't be voted)

  • Make a slate overlapped with the next one to decide them

  • We don't need exclusive moves, not all starters had them

Results are only viewable after voting.
Name: Philapos (Philadelphia + Kipos the greek word for garden harkening back to the greek origins of Philadelphia's name and also the fact that New Jersey is known as The Garden State)
Inspiration: South Jersey, "Central Jersey", and the Philadelphia Area (everything I want covered is circled in the map)
Philapos.jpg

Lore: About 246 years ago a group of men wrote a declaration that would separate them from the rule of the old king of region. They claimed him to be a tyrant and wished to found a land of liberty. It's said that with the help of some powerful pokemon they managed to do that. That was how the Philapos came to be. Unlike those monarchal Galarians, Kalosians, or Unovans they built a republic with one man being elected to govern the region as he appointed twelve others to help aid him in his task. This republic still stands to this day, and those 13 positions eventually became the champion of the region, the elite four, and the gym leaders of the region. In the modern time Philapos is currently is currently in a state of turmoil. A divide stretched across the region as there are those who wish for modernity while others cling to tradition all while a weakened republic tries to hold everything together. It all seems so hopeless and at times it feels as though there is no future for Philapos.

Legendaries: All of the legendries in this case represent tradition, modernity, and hope.
Now you may be confused as to why hope is thrown in there along side tradition and modernity, but I do have a reason for this. I view this trio as a sort of "progress trio" or "future trio" less in the sense that they symbolize the values used to define how Philapos progresses, and I felt as though hope is needed for both modernity and tradition. Hope for future generations to succeed where the previous ones have failed. Hope for future generations to still practice their traditions. Hope for future generations to live fuller richer lives due to the improved technology and better policies put in place. Anyway onto the mons.

Name: Sapëlekey (Sapëlehële the lenape word for lightning, turkey, and also key. Yes all of those play a part into the name)
Counterpart(s): Tradiziquine (Main counterpart) and Chihopèrtà (Third member)
Typing: Electric/Psychic
Abilities: Marching Forward
Base Stats: 90 / 120 / 100 / 120 / 100 / 150 (680)
Notable Moves: Thunderbolt, Thunder, Volt Switch, Progress Bolt*, Psychic, Psyshock, Zen Headbutt, Heat Wave, Dark Pulse, Shadow Ball, Dazzling Gleam, Aura Sphere, Focus Blast, Close Combat, Hurricane, Roost, Defog, Brave Bird, Drill Peck, Dual Wingbeat, Iron head, Knock Off, Swords Dance, Nasty Plot, Thunder Wave, and all the universal moves.
Custom Elements:
Marching Forward: When the pokemon knocks an opponent out its speed goes up by one stage. It cannot be negated.
Progress Bolt: it's an electric type clone of photon geyser.
Flavor/Design: Alright so design wise this is an electric turkey, which probably means it'll look hideous. However its tail feathers strangely resemble keys. Now the out of game flavor for this is due to a few things. For starters I wanted to do something where the pokemon representing modernity is based on the native fauna and uses the native language of New Jersey for the sake of contrast. The second, and arguably more obvious flavor comes into the story about how Ben Franklin did experiments with electricity namely the famous one involving him flying a kite with a key on it and the key acting as the lightning rod. Out of all the types to represent modernity, especially for this region, electricity makes a lot of sense.

Within the lore of Philapos, Sapëlekey was one of the powerful pokemon that helped gain the region its independence. It's said to have used its control over electricity to strike down the royal forces where they stood, almost akin to modern aerial warfare. It would also teach the new Philaposians how to harness electricity for their own, causing the region to enter a new age of technological development.

On a side note Ben Franklin allegedly wanted the national bird to be a turkey because he considered the eagle to be "a rank coward" and that a turkey would "would not hesitate to attack a grenadier of the British Guards who should presume to invade his farm yard with a red coat on.” which given my experience with turkeys, that sounds about right.

Potential Competitive Role: It's a fast sweeper that could go physical or special. I gotta be honest I know jack shit about ubers and this thing would probably get banned.

Name: Tradiziquine (Tradizione the italian word for Tradition and equine)
Counterpart(s): Sapëlekey(Main Counterpart) and Chihopèrtà (Third member)
Typing: Fire/Psychic
Abilities: Old Reliable*
Base Stats: 150 / 120 / 120 / 100 / 100 / 90 (680)
Notable Moves: Flare Blitz, Fire Blast, Flamethrower, Heat Wave, Heat Crash, Primordial Flame*, Inferno, Will-O-WIsp, Zen Headbutt, Psychic, Psyshock, Recover, High Horsepower, Earthquake, Earth Power, Stone Edge, Rock Slide, Stealth Rock, Close Combat, Superpower, Aura Sphere, Focus Blast, Body Press, Iron Head, Iron Tail, Heavy Slam, Bulk Up, Swords Dance, and all the universal moves.
Custom Elements:
Old Reliable: This pokemon's moves gain a 30% accuracy boost. It cannot be negated.
Primordial Flame: it's a fire type clone of photon geyser.
Flavor/Design: In terms of design it's a flaming draft horse, with like some hearth elements there. I know this is already a region with a lot of parallels to Unova but fire to me seemed like the right choice for a tradition pokemon, maybe my weird brain just associates tradition with some level of warmth. Now again part of the reason for its design and name is for contrast since the traditional pokemon is an animal that is not native to New Jersey and a language that arrived to New Jersey through immigrants. However there is another reason I picked italian as the language here, and it's not because New Jersey is the state with the highest italian population, but moreso due to my own perception of tradition. A large part of how my family preserved cultural traditions after having lost most of it to assimilation was through food. Even if none of them spoke the language, had traditional dress, or heck even knew which region of Italy our ancestors came from the food was still there. In my eyes food is a vital part of tradition.

Within the lore of Philapos, Tradiziquine was one of the powerful pokemon that helped gain the region its independence. Using its control over fire in combination with the traditional tactics of the time, it provided both a powerful offense and a surprisingly strong defense against the royal forces. Its prescience was often a sign of victory, safety, and warmth to those who would be blessed to fight along side it. Before it disappeared it gave the Philaposians their first flame, to symbolize not only their bright future but to start their first tradition of keeping the flame lit.

On a side note the horse itself is actually very important to New Jersey and is the state animal and I specifically went with a draft horse due to the state flag having three plows on the emblem and also because of New Jersey's history as an agricultural state.

Potential Competitive Role: Alright so this is a bulky horsey. It tank, it smack, but most importantly its bulk is wack. Do not allow this thing into OU.

Name: Chihopertà (Chihopèkëlis the lenape word for bluebird, Libertà the italian word for liberty)
Counterpart(s): Sapëlekey and Tradiziquine (Partners)
Form: Reserved (default), Jubilant (hold the Ringer of Hope)
Typing: Steel/Flying -> Steel/Fairy
Abilities: Echo of Hope* -> Bell Armor*
Base Stats: 110 / 110 / 110 / 110 / 110 / 110 (660) -> 110 / 130 / 130 / 130 / 130 / 150 (780)
Notable Moves: Ring of Hope*, Flash Cannon, Steel Beam, Heavy Slam, Iron Head, Brave Bird, Air Slash, Hurricane, Defog, Roost, Dual Wingbeat, Moonblast, Dazzling Gleam, Play Rough, Heal Bell, Boomburst, Swords Dance, Hyper Voice, Heat Wave, Stealth Rock, Rock Slide, U-Turn, Bulk Up, Focus Blast, Aura Sphere, Body Press, Calm Mind, Psyshock, Explosion, and all universal moves.
Custom Elements:
Echo of Hope: When this pokemon faints, the next pokemon to come out receives +1 to all stats.
Bell Armor: It's a prism armor clone.
Ring of Hope: A fairy type jungle healing clone that is also a sound move.
Flavor/Design: Alright so this design would be based on an eastern bluebird and the Liberty Bell so uhh good luck to the guy that has to design this thing. However its reserved form is much smaller and bird like, but once it holds its ringer again it becomes much bigger and bell like. it's name is both of lenape and italian origins referencing its two partners, but moreso it represents two symbols of hope. Bluebirds are often considered signs of hope and happiness while the Liberty Bell is a symbol of freedom and due to various stories that most likely aren't true it could be seen as a symbol of hope for attaining said freedom.

Within the lore of Philapos, Chihopertà was one of the powerful pokemon that helped gain the region its independence. It was in its Jubilant form through most of the war, using its Ring of Hope to heal fallen Philaposian troops as well as their pokemon. However the royal forces found it to be the biggest threat and sought to take it out. One faithful night a group of royal forces captured it, and severed the ringer from the mon itself causing it to enter its smaller reserved form. It is said that the final battle Chihopertà fought in the war for, it sacrificed itself for the Philaposian forces. This sacrifice triggered its true power and allowed the Philaposian forces to overwhelm the royal forces and have the tide turn in their favor during the war.

Potential Competitive Role: In both forms it is a jack of all trades that can do whatever it wants but due to its typing it leans more defensively. Both forms should be left in ubers due to the first's ability and the second's huge stats in combination with its typing. Hope is quite the powerful thing.

Name: Chessa (from Chesapeake, which means "at a big river")
Inspiration: Maryland, United States + the Virginian Parts of the Delmarva Peninsula

The Delmarva Peninsula is the pointy section in the Southeast that isn't a part of Maryland, but will be a part of this region
Lore: The Chessa Region is one of the smaller regions in the Pokemon World, but for what it lacks in size, it makes up for in diversity. Home to all sorts of habitats, The Chessa Region is teeming with unique Pokemon in every corner. The center point of the region is its large bay in the middle, being the centerpiece of its economy. The people of the Chessa Region heavily rely on the bay to keep the economy of the region afloat, but they recognize that whatever the bay gives them, it can also take away.
Justification: I'm sure most of you who don't live in Maryland have ever given much thought to the state of Maryland, because why would you unless you're an American Football fan, but my home state is actually super interesting geographically. Maryland is home to a wide range of climates, with cold mountains in the west, beaches on the coast, and farmlands and many cities in between, which is perfect for a Pokemon region. Maryland is also in a very unique place culturally, being a hodge-podge of Northern and Southern culture, for better and for worse, which opens up story routes. You'll see with the legendaries, but I went for a route based on Maryland's connection to the Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic Ocean, as Maryland's economy relies on the bay (and also agriculture) and one of our biggest tourist attractions, Ocean City, was "given" to us by a storm, but the waters can take just as much away, with Maryland often being in the middle of hurricane paths.

Name: Orihanna (Oriole + Susquehanna River)
Counterpart(s): Ravemore
Typing:

Abilities: Estuary
Base Stats: 113 / 97 / 157 / 97 / 97 / 119 (680 BST)
Notable Moves: Well Wishes, Moonblast, Dazzling Gleam, Air Slash, Play Rough, Heal Bell, Rototiller, Roost, Tailwind, Air Cutter, Sky Attack, Feather Dance, Dual Wingbeat, Defog, Fly, Aerial Ace, Surf, Aqua Ring, Life Dew, Rain Dance, Soak, Heal Pulse, Charm, Fairy Wind, Crafty Shield, Petal Blizzard, Recycle, Bestow, Brave Bird, U-Turn, Ice Beam, Aurora Beam, Block, Healing Wish, Earth Power, Calm Mind
Custom Elements-
Estuary - If this Pokémon gets hit, an Aqua Ring-like effect is set on the user's side of the field for 4 turns. Heals 1/8 of the user's max HP instead of 1/16
Well Wishes - 8 PP Status Flying-type move. Switches the user out. The replacement gains the Aqua Ring effect and has their status healed
Flavor/Design: Based on an oriole, Maryland's state bird, and how the Bay provides for the people of Maryland. Local legend has it that, long ago, when the first humans came to the Chessa Region, it was fairly barren compared to what it is today. they settled near the bay, beginning to farm its land. They lived quite peacefully until, one day, a great rainstorm befell the region. The storm washed away many of the settlers and the buildings they built. However, once the storm was over and it was safe to go outside, the settlers found that their crops were growing much more quickly than normal and that the nearby bay was teeming with wildlife. In the distance, the settlers could just make out an orange silhouette of a large bird Pokemon. The settlers took this as blessing from the bird Pokemon, known today as Orihanna, allowing to continue planting and replanting on the land they settled.
Potential Competitive Role: WIP (defensive pivot with a crazy pivoting move)

Name: Ravemore (Raven + Nevermore, from "quoth the Raven 'Nevermore'")
Counterpart(s): Orihanna
Typing:

Abilities: Storm Surge
Base Stats: 113 / 97 / 97 / 157 / 97 / 119 (680 BST)
Notable Moves: Nor'Easter, Shadow Ball, Poltergeist, Hurricane, U-Turn, Roost, Defog, Hex, Thunder, Thunder Wave, Rain Dance, Sky Attack, Dual Wingbeast, Fly, Aerial Ace, Whirlwind, Thunderbolt, Spite, Curse, Shadow Claw, Hydro Pump, Surf, Brine, Destiny Bond, Grudge, Perish Song, Wing Attack, Memento, Knock Off, Nasty Plot, Earth Power, Taunt, Swords Dance, Whirlpool, Twister
Custom Elements-
Storm Surge - If this Pokémon hits the opponent with a Flying-type move, a G-Max Wildfire-like hazard is set on the opponent's side of the field for 4 turns. Water-types are immune.
Nor'Easter - 120 BP, 90% Acc, 8 PP, Special Flying-type move. Removes all hazards, weather, screens, and terrain from both sides of the field
Flavor/Design: Based on a raven, which are heavily associated with Maryland, and how the waters around Maryland can take away, which fits with how ravens are associated with death. Local legend has it that, long ago, when the first humans came to the Chessa Region, it was fairly barren compared to what it is today. they settled near the bay, beginning to fish in its waters They lived quite peacefully until, one day, a great rainstorm befell the region. The storm washed away many of the settlers and the buildings they built. Once the storm was over and it was safe to go outside, the settlers found that their stores of food, mostly fish and crab-like Pokémon, were gone. In the distance, the settlers could just make out a dark purple silhouette of a large bird Pokemon. The settlers took this as warning from the bird Pokemon, known today as Ravemore, to instead use the land and water to grow their food, giving back to the land rather than just taking from it.
Potential Competitive Role: WIP (Wallbreaker that probably competes with Calyrex-S but you have coverage for Yveltal at least)

Name: Khitakhan (Khitan and Khan)
Inspiration: The Khitan region of southern Mongolia.

Lore: Far Inland, steppes we’re overrun with sparse vegetation and wild herds and the nomads who herded them. Wars we’re common, territory disputes were common and many men rose to warlord legacies. Even the Pokémon were war torn territorial skirmishers.
There were talks of great conquests, the likes which drove many people to calamity and godly Pokémon to exert their powers. But the spirits of great warlords live on. And this is Mongolia, an immense hotbed of some of the most popular fossils so well preserved that many are encased not in rocks but even what little dead vegetation still remains hidden and lost to time.

Today most of the region is modern but herding and yurts are still a common site. Camel and equine Pokémon are common and so are sheep. The will and spirit of battle is strong so a Khitakhan warrior and trainer is ready for any league and any challenge.

The land is so rife with strife that even the legendaries are otherworldly warmongers.

It is legend that there were golems of fire, water and nature that gave the land warmth, andlush vegetation until they disappeared. Who knows where these titans have vanished to or if they’re to ever return. Until then the land is cold and arid but life finds a way. Maybe you can find one, but perhaps only one.
Modernization has helped… or has it?

Justification: IGN can’t give it a low score for having too much water for one thing. Khitakhan is inland with only ponds and lakes and most of the Water2 Mons are likely in aquariums. But Mongolia, an obscure region you won’t be at risk seeing as a region for the next 20 generations. Perhaps a fully landlocked region would be interesting for a change. This is also a place common for Oviraptors, and many other well known dinosaurs so fossil heaven hotbed is here!

Name: Brongudai (Bronco + Mangudai)
Counterpart: Tetsicels
Type: Ground/Fight
Ability: Defiant (Stamina)
Base Stats: 123/157/110/70/99/121 (680)
Notable Moves: Close Combat, Earthquake, Stone Edge, Bulk Up, Gunk Shot, Heavy Slam, Heat Crash, Play Rough, Blaze Kick, Body Press, Iron Head, Rock Slide
Custom Elements: None needed
Flavor/Lore: Brongudai is believed to be a great steed for a great warlord who died in the war with a dragon empire. Together in the afterlife they were reborn as a mighty horse lord a fighting spirit on earthly might. It is said that this Pokémon led the Khitakhani to war against the world and gave the planet its largest human empire. But one day hr just stopped. His arch enemy, the dragon Tetsicels returned and revenge consumed this creature. What happened to either is a mystery.

Competitive: This horselord has a few issues being a ground type in a meta where Kyogre and Palkia are popular and a fight type where Psychics are everywhere! Brongudai must rely on stat efficiency to get its mission done. It should be good against most steels and Primal Groudon probably wants to stay far away.

Name: Tetsicels (Rearrange the letters. Rated E for everyone)
Counterpart: Brongudai
Type: Fire/Dragon
Ability: Split Persona* (Berserk)
Base Stats: 113/90/90/137/129/121 (680)
Notable Moves: Fire Blast, Draco Meteor, Thunderbolt, Dragon Pulse, Energy Ball, Flash Cannon, Dark Pulse, Surf, Nasty Plot, Hydro Pump, Sludge Bomb
Custom Elements: Split Persona - This Pokémon has two personality traits at the same time. Both can be the same potentially.
Flavor/Design: Seepes in not much legend this creature is just a typical evil dragon sadist. Building an empire of dragons, it was felled by Khitakhani peoples or so they thought. It rose back and defeated their massive empire from within but only as an act of revenge. After an epic battle between it and Brongudai both disappeared forever… you know that’s not true. Suffice to say this two headed dragon talks out of two sides of its head and it has two heads it is unstable and insane and sadistic and burns things for fun. Some say it destroyed all the vegetation and turned the region and a few neighbors into barren steppes.

Competitive: It’s got that Fire/Dragon typing that makes it amazing just like Reshiram… wait. Yes all this power and hyper offensive capabilities gatekept behind being the same type as Reshiram. It’s coverage and speed tier are better but we’ll see if that’s enough.

Name: Vortexaco (Vortex + Texaco gas)
Ability: Pollutive*
Type: Poison/Fairy
Base Stats: 140/70/140/120/120/85 (675)
Custom Elements: Pollutive - Sets Acid Rain weather for 5 turns. While set up, Pokémon who aren’t poison, bug or grass types take weather chip damage. Fairy, water and steel types that don’t have one of those as secondary take double damage (non cumulative for dual types). In addition Poison moves do super effective damage to water and steel types and all regularly poisoned Mons who come into play in during the weather become badly poisoned. Gunk Shot doesn’t miss.
Notable Moves: Sludge Wave, Moon Blast, Psychic, Earth Power, Thunderbolt, Teleport, Recover, Strange Steam, Ice Beam, Flash Cannon

The third legendary. Vortexaco was sought by ancient seers and shamans and Kam (a type of ancient Hunnic priest) for its magical access to worlds and planes beyond our own. It hid by disguising itself. In this industrial revolution it hides as a gas tank with gas pumps for arms. It is said demons were brought forth but they were neutralized… right?

Lore: See above, this thing is separate from the box legends but for the ability to split in 2 carts this thing has 2 sets of demons it called forth based on which game you play.

Competitive: The type is cool and the ability has its place in a meta not swarming with grass, bug or poison types.

Gravity Monkey

Que des barz comme si jtais au hebs

Name: Bavelona
Inspiration: The ancient Babylonian empire (situated in the fertile crescent aka ~ Iraq, Syria, Palestine)

Much like Hisui, the region of Bavelona is, in modern ages, only a piece of history. But oh boy was it an important piece of history. Bavelona is the first region to function as an organized ensemble and one of the first traces of humans and Pokémon collaborating. Developed cities are mostly found by the shores of the rivers piercing through the landmass; the more you go north or south, the more dry the land becomes.

The game starts as something terrible is happening in your village for now 2 years in a row: either the crops are turning bad or the water in your area is starting to dry. As a young men/women full of vigor and motivation, you then set your journey to go search for one of two legendary Pokémon that are known to have the power to fix this: Inabudan for the crops or Nezunezu for the water.

Inabudan (Inanna + Abundance)
Counterpart(s): Nezunezu
Type:

Abilities: Eminence* / Telepathy
Stats: 110 / 130 / 70 / 150 / 130 / 90 | BST: 680
Moves: Earth Power, Psychic, Psyshock, Earthquake, Ancient Power, Focus Blast, Stone Edge, Rock Slide, Stealth Rock, Roar, Iron Head, Calm Mind, Aura sphere, Future Sight, Bulldoze
Flavor: Based on the Mesopotamian goddess of fertility, Ishtar (or Inanna in Sumerian). Also cows fsr.

Eminence: User's damaging moves that target full health-enemies lower their speed by one stage.

Nezunezu (Enzu (goat in akkadian) + Anzanunzu (subterrean water in akkadian))
Counterpart(s): Inabudan
Type:

Abilities: Benevolence* / Telepathy
Stats: 110 / 70 / 130 / 130 / 150 / 90 | BST: 680
Moves: Hydro Pump, Scald, Surf, Psychic, Psyshock, Ancient Power, Focus Blast, Ice Beam, Life Dew, Whirlwind, Calm Mind, Icy Wind, Thunderbolt, Thunder, Aura Sphere, Future Sight
Flavor: Based on the Mesopotamian god of fresh waters and wisdom, Enki, and capricorns (goat-fishes) which is the animal it's associated with.

Benevolence: User's damaging moves that target allies heals them by 25% of their total health instead of inflicting damage (Doubles only).

LET'S GOOOOO so happy to see this pet mod return!

Name: Itihass (Hindi for history) (pronounced "it-EE-hass")
Inspiration: Indian subcontinent

Lore: Itihass is widely believed to be the birthplace of modern Pokemon society as we know it, with scriptures showing that ancient Ithihassans conceptualized everything from the very first Poke Ball to the formation of an elite council of Pokemon Trainers, made up of the rulers of the various kingdoms that made up Itihass back in the day, that would eventually become the Pokemon League. This combined with its fertile land made it a prime location for trade with other regions, particularly the Galar region. Itihass is a region of vast geographical and societal diversity, with plenty of large urban cities and small urban villages alike. However, with this diversity comes conflict on how the region should be led, with the more progressive and modern city people coming into conflict with the traditional rural villagers.

Legendaries:

Name: Simitaakat (simian + taakat, Hindi for strength)
Counterpart: Pachybuddi
Type: Fighting/Flying
Ability: Battle Prowess
Stats: 100 / 145 / 80 / 120 / 70 / 165 (BST: 680)
Notable Moves: Close Combat, Earthquake, Stone Edge, ThunderPunch, Fire Punch, Ice Punch, Poison Jab, Play Rough, Throat Chop, U-turn, Knock Off, Focus Blast, Hurricane, Bulk Up, Atmospheric Leap
Custom Elements:
  • Battle Prowess: Boosts the power of physical moves that are the same type as the user by 10%. Also affects teammates in Double Battles.
  • Atmospheric Leap: Flying-type, Physical, 140 BP, 85% accuracy, 8 PP max, causes crash damage of 1/2 of the user's max HP rounded down "The user leaps high enough to exit the atmosphere, then crashes back down on the opponent. If this move misses, the user is hurt instead."
Flavor/Design: Simitaakat is based on Hanuman, the Hindu god of strength and courage, who is commonly depicted as an anthropomorphic monkey. Hanuman is the son of Vayu, the god of wind, and can jump extremely high heights and fly because of it, which is why Simitaakat is part Flying-type. Appearance wise, it is a tall, bipedal Pokemon resembling an Old World monkey. Its fur is a brownish-orange, with blue accents on its face, hands, feet, and tail. Said tail is incredibly long and has a tuft of white fur resembling a cloud at its end, its legs are very well built, and its belly is covered in fluffy white fur. Simitaakat is believed to have been created by Arceus itself to give humans the strength needed to be equal with Pokemon. It helped humans and Pokemon settle in Itihass and oversaw the creation of the kingdoms. Simitaakat took a particular liking to one king who was just as dedicated to strength as it was, becoming that king's partner Pokemon. However, Simitaakat's partner came into conflict with another king, who was partnered with the Legendary Pokemon Pachybuddhi, over whether strength or intelligence would result in more prosperity for Itihass. This conflict led to an all-out war, which ended in the kingdoms merging into one empire. After the war ended, Simitaakat, filled with regret for causing so much destruction, abandoned its partner and went into solitary isolation in the forests, never to be seen again.
Competitive Role: Fastest mon in Ubers by far with great coverage and U-turn makes for a fantastic offensive pivot.

Name: Pachybuddhi (pachyderm + buddhi, Hindi for intelligence)
Counterpart: Simitaakat
Type: Psychic/Ground
Ability
: Mental Aptitude
Stats: 165 / 70 / 100 / 145 / 120 / 80 (BST: 680)
Notable Moves: Psychic, Psyshock, Earth Power, Scorching Sands, Focus Blast, Shadow Ball, Dark Pulse, Moonblast, Recover, Calm Mind, Enlightenment Pulse
Custom Elements:
  • Mental Aptitude: Boosts the power of special moves that are the same type as the user by 10%. Also affects teammates in Double Battles.
  • Enlightenment Pulse: Psychic-type, Special, 130 BP, 85% accuracy, 8 PP max, requires a charging turn "The user takes a turn to clear its mind of distracting thoughts, then fires a beam of purified psychic energy at the opponent."
Flavor/Design: Pachybuddhi is based on Ganesha, the Hindu god of wisdom and intelligence, who is commonly depicted as a human with the head of an elephant. The most common legend about Ganesha's birth is that he was made from clay, which is why Pachybuddhi is part Ground-type. Appearance-wise, it is a stout, somewhat fat bipedal Pokemon resembling an Indian elephant. Its skin is a deep magenta, with earthy brown accents on its face, trunk, hands, and feet. Its tusks are made of clay, and one of them has been broken off. Its belly is encased in clay as well. Pachybuddhi is believed to have been created by Arceus itself to give humans the wisdom needed to be equal with Pokemon. It helped humans and Pokemon settle in Itihass and oversaw the creation of the kingdoms. Pachybuddhi took a particular liking to one king who was just as dedicated to intelligence as it was, becoming that king's partner Pokemon. However, Pachybuddhi's partner came into conflict with another king, who was partnered with the Legendary Pokemon Simitaakat, over whether strength or intelligence would result in more prosperity for Itihass. This conflict led to an all-out war, which ended in the kingdoms merging into one empire. After the war ended, Pachybuddhi, filled with regret for causing so much destruction, abandoned its partner and went into solitary isolation in the mountains, never to be seen again.
Competitive Role: Fat wall that can sit on two of Ubers's biggest threats in Necrozma-DM and Eternatus.

Name
: Nordmund, lit. Northern World, inspired by the Baltics. The region borrows heavily from Norse myths and northern Eurasian creatures. The real world Åland Islands forms the target end game, at the core of which provides access to Wormholes and the like through its volcanic core.

Lore: the mist shrouded fjordlands of Nordmund to the far north west of Galar have encouraged a hardy populace who eke out a living among its black sand shorelines, framed by mountains which stand tall as giants against the sky. Harsh weather patterns scour the region - blistering summers, particularly in the east, which can erupt in thunderstorms and wildfire, to winter storms which shroud the land in ice, snow and mist. The various populaces have an uneasy peace with each other - the young frequently take to sea to explore other lands to save conflict emerging within the central sea. The extreme south has an industrial centre and acts as a hub for trade - going so far as to start creating a canal that leads to the inner sea. Entirely unrelated (or so everyone is assured) is the awakening of the Volcano, known as Ragnar's Rock, so-named after the one-eyed King who was first able to sail through the violent seas surrounding it, and reach its summit - although he was never seen again.

The eruption of Ragnar's Rock is set herald the unleashing of, presumably evil denizens onto the world.

The player starts in the south, around !Germany, and is tasked with helping out completion of the canal with their pokemon, before trying to stop the Vikingr from destabilizing the Horizon Sound Bridge (Øresund Bridge). As they do so, Ragnar's Rock erupts, and the player is sent on a quest to understand the meanings of the old wives tales which suggested the end of days have arrived by visiting various significant areas, some of which will still need naming. There is even the subtext of differences of Religion - the renowned Arceus in the south, and the more traditional, almost pagan-like Sacred Pokemon. The Vikingr continue to make trouble for the player until mid-late game as they believe he is trying to destroy the traditionalist way of life. Their ships they follow the player in take stylised foms

Notable Moves: Brumal Reave, Ice Hammer, Icicle Crash, Ice Shard, Triple Axel, Blizzard, Ice Beam, Freeze-Dry, Aurora Veil, Hail, Haze, Outrage, Dragon Rush, Dragon Hammer, Dragon Claw, Dragon Tail, Draco Meteor, Dragon Pulse, Earthquake, Drill Run, Poison Jab, Acid Armor, Coil, Nasty Plot, Sword's Dance, Curse,
Custom Elements: Fimbulwinter; new unique ability - Summons Hail to the battlefield, and Mist on the users side of the battlefield for 5 turns, similar to Guard Spec. Pokemon take increasing damage from Hail, similar to Toxic the longer they stay in. Holding the Icy Rock increases both effects to 8 Turns.
Frozen Root; new Unique Held Item - Acts like an Icy Rock. If held by Jorgandr, it cannot be Knocked Off (e.g. Griseous Orb), it also increases the damage of Jorgandr's Ice and Dragon Type moves by 50% while it is Hailing.
Brumal Reave; new Unique Move - Ice Type Double Iron Bash Clone - Base Power 60/Accuracy 100%, PP5/8; Effect; Deals Damage, Hits Twice, and has a 30% Chance to Flinch on each attack
Flavor/Design: The legendary pokemon Jorgandr and Cairnrir are said to have desired the beautiful perch of Ornivolkia on the Eternal Tree - from this perch, it was said that they would gain knowledge of all. Although initially cast out by Ornivolkia in vicious fighting, they returned, and ate the roots of the tree, destroying it. The cry of Ornivolkia rent the ground open, causing molten lava to escape where the tree once stood. Jorgandr was cast out into the open sea, the dangerous shoals in the [Skagerrak Strait] preventing him from returning. By opening the canal, Jordgandr is now able to enter the inner sea.
Jorgandr takes hints from Lindworms - unwinged Dragons lacking hind legs in favour of a serpent tail. The end of his tail is bone, as a hint to eating his own tail in hunger and rage. His upper torso is muscular, and has Ice-tipped talons, while a Draconic Head.
Potential Competitive Role: An Ubers grade physical attacker who uses Mist-protected set-up boosts in conjunction with Hail chip to rip through enemy walls, or Dragon Tail/Roar to force switches. However, its defensive typing is less than stellar, making it fairly fragile - faster attackers can take advantage of its 5 Weaknesses. Intentionally has no Speed boosting moves, so no Dragon Dance or Scale Shot. The faster speed, although nice means it has to be careful in weather wars - it doesn't get Boosted Damage from its item unless it is Hailing, and obviously doesn't get the chip. This does give it a bit more variability in where to place EV's, making it potentially more tanky should you wish.

Blue Box Legendary; Cairnrir
Rock/Dragon
Name: Cairnrir
Counterpart(s): Jorgandr
Typing:

Abilities: Petrifying Storm/Pressure
Base Stats: 105 / 165 / 100 / 95 / 95 / 120 (680)
Notable Moves: Grisly Chomp, Stone Edge, Dragon Rush, [more TBA]
Custom Elements: Petrifying Storm; new unique ability - Summons sandstorm and a Gravity effect to the battlefield for 5 turns. Pokemon take increasing damage from sand, similar to Toxic the longer they stay in. Holding the Smooth Rock increases both effects to 8 Turns.
Fossilized Root; new Unique Held Item - Acts like a Smooth Stone. If held by Cairnrir, it cannot be be Knocked Off (e.g. Griseous Orb), it also increases the damage of Cairnrir's Rock and Dragon Type moves by 50% while sandstorm is active.
Grisly Chomp; New Unique Move; Physical Rock Type Magma Storm Clone - Base Power 100/Accuracy 75%, PP5/8; Effect; Now traps the target for 4 to 5 Turns, dealing 1/16th of maximum HP. (Binding Band increases to 1/8th, and Grip Claw guarantees 5 turns)
Flavor/Design: Although it has the Dragon-type, it shares similarities with a wolf; its head is similar to a Wolf Skull.
Potential Competitive Role: Another primarily physical attacker; Gravity gives increased accuracy which lets them make use of more dangerous moves otherwise balanced out by reduced accuracy. Between the increased Chip Damage from the Sandstorm, and Grisly Chomp's ability to trap an opponent which it can then setup on reasonably freely, this is a dangerous hyper-offensive, likely Uber wallbreaker. It has even more weaknesses than even Jorgandr but likes to switch into Fire Types - Ho-oh better watch out.

Trilogy Legendary; Ornivolkia
Fighting/Fairy

Will Complete later tonight

Name: Indolosa
Inspiration: Parts of Indonesia because Indonesia is dealing with heavy deforestation and it also has beautiful nature.
Map:
B683186A-FB85-41B9-B5FE-2B6AB8D70607.jpeg
Lore: Evil Team is a logging company and they have been causing a huge loss of widelife and pollution. The guardian of trees, Pelinhari (Peh-lin-hah-ri) Coming from parts of the words guardian in Indonesian and warrior in Arabic, as Islam is the most prominent religion in Indonesia); Has been living in the Indonesian forest for centuries and is seeing the effects of the deforestation first hand. It has become a legend as many deforestation workers have reported seeing/hearing it and saying it being the cause of unexplained destroyed deforestation machines overnight. There are other guardians of nature as well, the guardian of the water, Tiagua (Tye-Aug-Wah), and the guardian of the air and gas, Garulity (Gah-Roo-Lih-Tee). In your journey, you will team up with these legendary guardians and defeat the evil team and expose the corrupt government that supports them. Depending on your version of the game the third guardian Garulity, will either start in Pure or Smog form.

Likely Pokémon List:
Grass Pokémon- A lot of Jungles
Ice and rock types - Mountains
Water Pokémon, islands
Huge Pokémon diversity as Jungles will give caves and trees to work with

Also, I will likely add more Flavour moves and finish movepools later today, I gotta go to school
Name: Pelinhara (Orgin explained in region lore)
Counterpart(s): Garulity, Tiagua
Typing:

Abilities: Forest Guardian
Base Stats: 105/ 140 / 100 / 106 / 100 / 129 (680)
Notable Moves: Universal Moves, Bulk Up, Calm Mind, Close Combat, Vine Whip, Power Whip, U-Turn, Focus Blast, Energy Ball, Giga Drain, Earthquake, Nature’s Madness, Substitute, Drain Punch, Vine Swing
Vine Whip, Absorb, Mega Drain,

Custom Elements: Vine Swing: Grass Flame Charge Clone that’s 70 bp
Forest Guardian: Ally grass type Pokémon take 1/2 damage when this Pokémon is on the field (doubles only)
Flavor/Design: Most of the flavor was covered in region lore, but Pelinhara is also very smart and strategic with its attacks, carefully striking logging sites at the right time to destroy machines and the like. Pelinhara cares for other pokemon in the trees, and is seen as a leader for the other Pokémon. Based off an orangutan because those are leaders of the deforestation movement and are found in indonesia. Looks like a big strong but lean orangtun, with orange skin and green fur, and menacing eyes. It’s in-game stance is similar to that of monferno.
Dex 1: Workers have reported sightings of a beast that swung from trees hastily, though many still do not believe it exists.
Dex 2: Pelinhara has lived in the forest for decades and will defend it with its life through brute force.

Potential Competitive Role: Fast Pivot/Breaker with a great speed teir right below eternatus. Still struggles to break past ho-oh, and banded sets must be wearing of clicking cc to not allow a calyrex-shadow in or gothiethlle/mega gengar trapping you. Vine swing is useful for bulk up sets.

Name: Tiagua (Tiger + Agua)
Counterpart(s): Garulity, Pelinhara
Typing:

1646271555384.png

Abilities: Ambush Tactics
Base Stats: 130/ 150/ 110 / 100/ 105 / 85 (680)
Notable Moves: Crunch, Hydro Leap, Pursuit, Aqua Tail, Hydro Pump, Surf, Scald, Waterfall, Liquidation, Dark Pulse, Ice Fang, Ice Beam, Shadow Claw, Shadow Sneak, Aqua Jet, Monsoon
Rain Dance, Bite, Water Gun, Bubble, Dive,

Custom Elements: Hydro Leap: First Impression clone but water type
Ambush Tactics: This Pokémon deals 1.2 damage when attacking 1st in a turn, opponent switching still gives the boost.
Monsoon: 70 bp. 10 pp. Special. Water type. 100% acc. Doubles bp is rain is active. Affected by air lock and cloud nine. (Not meant to be a signature move)
Flavor/Design: Tiagua is based of the tiger and I chose this animal because Ema Skye suggested it for me, so shout to Ema Skye. Tigers are found in Indonesia and are aquatic so it fits. Tiagua is the guardian of the water and will play a key role in your story to have a treacherous passage to go across the two distant islands. Tiagua protects the seas and the ocean by governing what goes on in the water and it Can see what is going on in any water source in the Indolosa region. It often calls support from Garulity to help clean the water from pollution. Tiagua looks like a big angry tiger that’s blue with black stripes and white whiskers and underbelly. It’s tail looks like the trident Poseidon holds at the end.
Dex 1: A fearsome beast in the water and on land, Tiagua will strike any foe that threatens the stability of the waters.
Dex 2: Tiagua is an expert at the art of ambush and can take most any foe down in one successful ambush attack.
Potential Competitive Role: Revenge killer, strong breaker, and pursuit trapper that also checks caly-s. Pretty slow however so it must rely on Hydro Leap or aqua jet and it’s bulk to get onto foes.

Name: Garulity-Pure (Garuda + Purity)
Counterpart(s): Pelinhara, Tiagua
Typing:
1646312839275.png

Abilities: Pure Winds
Base Stats: 120/ 110 / 110 / 105 / 135 / 100 (680)
Notable Moves: Hurricane, Air Slash
Custom Elements: Pure Winds: Poison moves fail while this Pokémon is active. Cures any poisoned Pokémon on the field and clears the Smog Cloud effect on switch in.
Flavor/Design: Garulity is based off the Hindu god Garuda, which is also idonesia’s coat of arms. Garulity is a the guardian of the air and as it flies around Indolosa it clears the pollution with its purifying winds. However, when Garuda interacts the the Invert Stone its color turns purple and it becomes the polluter. In one version you get Garuda while it is pure and you have to adventure to some heavily polluted areas and clear them, while in the second you have to defeat Garuda and get the invert stone so it can go back to normal. This form looks like the picture shown above, but with a white color symbolizing purity, also looks more Pokémon-like if that makes sense.

Potential Competitive Role: Fat wall like hi-oh but instead of pivoting, Regenerator, and burn spreading it gets a toxic immunity, speed, and not much else lol

Name: Garulity-Smog (Garuda + Purity)
Counterpart(s): Pelinhara, Tiagua
Typing:
1646312843770.png

Abilities: Smog Cloud
Base Stats: 120 / 130/ 95 / 130 / 100 / 105 (BST)
Notable Moves:
Custom Elements: Smog Cloud: While this Pokémon is active, there is a field effect named smog cloud which hurst all non steel and poison types by 1/8th of their max hp and the end of every turn. This effect acts similarly to a room.
Flavor/Design:
Potential Competitive Role:

Loria
Florida-based region
A region based on Florida, the peninsula hanging off of the South-East corner of the United States of America. Florida has many unique biomes, history involving different cultures, modern cities and points of interest that would lend themselves to a diverse region. (It also has Florida man memes)
Honestly this part is probably more useful as a reference for later subs, but here it is if you want to read it.
is-state-of-florida-a-peninsula (2).jpg
Terrain: Florida is a fairly narrow peninsula, with a large inland lake called Lake Okeechobee about halfway down. It's mostly flat, with very low elevation above sea level. At the south-eastern tip, there is an archipelago called The Keys.
Biomes: Florida has a subtropical climate. It is most known for its wetlands, estuaries, beaches, and even some coral reefs. It also contains a fair amount of woodland and grassland areas, which are similar to those found elsewhere in the country, but with a lot more reptiles, biting insects, and spiky plants, and fewer large mammals.
Animals: Alligators, sailfish, tall wading birds, manatees, and the Florida panther are some of the iconic animals. Of course there are many, many other interesting animals in its various biomes.
Plants: Saw Palmetto, Palm Trees, and Mangroves are some iconic plants of Florida.
Natural Disasters: Hurricanes
Native American Cultures: As with every other region based in the Americas, indigenous people lived there before European colonists arrived.
Spanish Colonists: In 1513, Juan Ponce de León claimed Florida for Spain during the first official European expedition to North America.
Purchase by United States of America: The United States of America acquired Spanish Florida in 1819.
Theme Parks: Some cities like Orlando and Tampa are known for their many theme parks such as Disney World, Universal Studios, and Sea World.
Cape Canaveral: Launch site for the United States' space program during the cold war.
Port Cities: Florida has access to the Atlantic Ocean on the east coast, and the Gulf of Mexico on the west coast.
Tourists: Travelers from further north are a common sight, often referred to as "snow birds".
Loria is a natural paradise. Human settlement in some regions is still fairly new, although in recent years its population has been rapidly expanding. People from the north are drawn to Loria due to its favorable climate and many tourist destinations. The region is sunny and warm year-round, and is circled by a cool breeze that comes in from the oceans. It is also a fertile land with abundant clean water that sits just below the ground. The region is largely defined by water, with rivers, wetlands, estuaries, beaches, and shallow seas being among the biomes. There are also forests, grasslands, a hilly region to the north, and an arid region in the middle.

Loria does also have major population centers. Port cities exist on both sides of the peninsula, with contrasting cultures representing the places they trade with. There is also a city to the north that is famous for its theme parks, run by a megacorporation whose name is all over billboards and tv advertisements throughout the region. More rural settlements exist as well, mostly based around ranching, farming, and fishing. People worship "pokemon chieftains", who are said to represent the health of the land, but only scholars of the region's mythology know the true source of Loria's blessings.
Recently rumors have been spreading due to wind turning stagnant or the ground water running low, depending on which version you chose. Your character will be prompted to check on a local "pokemon chieftain", which is essentially like a noble or totem pokemon; acolytes of the region's legendaries. They will be discovered to be missing: captured by the local evil organization! They have always been into stealing pokemon, but they must have had outside help to best the pokemon chieftains. During a visit to the theme park city, you notice a very sad sight: multiple attractions with unhappy-looking legendary pokemon. In a run-in with the evil team, you discover they were transporting yet another legendary, the first hint at the very obvious reveal that they are working with the theme park tycoon.

As you start to finish your badges, something much more pressing draws your attention. A dark storm system was seen on satellites approaching the region. Some of the region's elders have been citing very gloomy prophecies about such an event. When the storm system makes landfall, a monster (Mudaracan) descends from the clouds. Soon after it is met by Calaguaca or Poruvia, whichever legendary is on the box of the other game (not the one you chose). They battle and the monster is victorious. Nearby cities are evacuated as the storm presses forward. This confirms what many had suspected, your box's legendary is in a weakened state and unable to fulfil its protective duties.

This kicks off the fetch quest where you catch all of the pokemon chieftains, who when gathered together can call forth the legendary. However, with its counterpart already defeated, it requires your help. You bring 5 of your other pokemon and defeat Mudaracan. Soon afterwards, you are ambushed by the evil team and executives from the theme park tycoon. Using special energy weapons they subdue the two legendary pokemon. Their dastardly plot is revealed; they intended to summon Mudaracan so they could catch it and turn it into a tourist attraction! However, you still have your team of 6 and your scrappy companions to help you fight them off and save the day.

Description: An earth deity based loosely on an alligator, and made of light colored stone. It is the source of all life in Loria and it purifies the ground water. Calaguaca and Poruvia draw power from the chieftain pokemon across Loria. If they are cut off from it, they will revert to their Forgotten form (this can be done reversibly using an item).

It represents the limestone bedrock that Florida sits on, which contains one of the most productive aquifers in the world.

Description: A sky deity based on a wading bird surrounded by mist. It controls Loria's weather and supplies the water that fills its aquifers. It keeps dangerous storms at bay with circling air currents.

It represents the role of the sun and the sky in the water cycle, which supplies the water that fills the aquifers.

Special: Dark Pulse, Snarl, Shadow Ball, Hex, Hurricane, Air Slash, Thunderbolt, Thunder, Giga Drain, Acid Spray
Status: Toxic, Leech Seed, Curse, Whirlwind,
Description: A creature of "unknown" origin that threatened the region in ages past. It was banished to the bottom of the ocean by Calaguaca and Poruvia. Both of them together are capable of forcing it back into its Hibernant form. The Engorged form appears to be painful for it, and it's not clear what Loria's duo provide that calm this pokemon down.

It's based on a black hole, a hurricane, and the bermuda triangle. It's a baby ultra beast, and its life cycle is unimaginably long (like that of a black hole). Calaguaca and Poruvia are basically fostering it since it got sucked through an ultra worm hole and stranded on earth.

Voting Time!

For this slate, we will have a ranked vote. You can vote for up to five submissions, which each submission receiving points based on what order you put them in. For example:

Region A - Gets 5 points
Region B - Gets 4 points
Region C - Gets 3 points
Region D - Gets 2 points
Region E - Gets 1 point

If you vote for less than 5, the amount of points that the top vote gets is equal to the number of votes you did and it goes down by one from there.
You can't vote for yourself as first place or as your only vote.
Please use the name of the person who subbed the region rather than the region's name when making a ballot.
Note that if Dilasc's region wins, the name of the 2nd legendary will be changed (for obvious reasons)

The sub with the most points wins

Voting will close in 2 days

Loria(Scoop)
Nordmund(Charsiuemboar)
Bavelona(Gravity Monkey
Philapos(Indebi)

These are the ones I like the most, I went with Chessa as the top however because of personal connection to the region(I went to High School, and my parents still live in the DC Metro area). I think there is definitely a better name possible however, Chessa is a bit weird in my mind. Dont have an alternative yet, but just thought I'd mention that in my voting post.

I'm sorry but I don't think anything will come close to how much I want a Florida region for this mod. I don't travel much but have a lot of fond memories there and my father grew up there as well so I know a lot of random, otherwise pointless info on the state

also @ everyone above he said the name of the USER* EDIT: i'm dumb lmao, @ everyone else let's put both to be safe for when he counts votes

Philapos(SV)
-It's my own region of course I want to see it win
Dario-Gami
-I'm pretty sure Earl resides here. Let's make him into a vital npc.
Khitakhan
-I'm biased because I like Mongolian history. It interests me.
Loria
-Fun fact I hate Florida. Everytime I am there I end up having a bad time. However the sole reason I even am voting for this region is so I can make subs mocking Florida. Such as a chatot variant that moves weirdly after a famous singer moved onto their island or a humanoid pokemon that is notorious for committing absurd acts like chucking a feraligatr into a resturant window. Also manatees, they're cute and this region guarantees a manatee.

Mudaracan (Bermuda + Huracán)
Type:

Ability: Ravenous - if a pokemon on the field loses its item (without eating/incinerating it), this pokemon eats it and regains 1/6 of its maximum HP.
Stats:
Hibernant: 71 / 107 / 101 / 107 / 107 / 107 | 600 BST
Engorged: 97 / 127 / 109 / 127 / 107 / 113 | 680 BST
Movepool:
Physical: Knock Off, Spirit Shackle, Shadow Sneak, Rapid Spin, Drain Punch, Storm Throw, Horn Leech, Leech Life,
Special: Dark Pulse, Snarl, Shadow Ball, Hex, Hurricane, Air Slash, Thunderbolt, Thunder, Giga Drain, Acid Spray

Now that we've had our region decided, we can jump into a quick slate 2!

- Generational Mechanic and Teachable Moves -
:sm/charizard-mega-x::sm/lycanroc::sm/charizard-gmax:

Before we create any other Pokémon, let's very quickly establish if we'll have a generational mechanic and what that'll be, as they will become a part of certain slates. We'll also discuss the list of teachable moves, which I will go into more detail on later.

A generational mechanic is any big, game-changing mechanic or "gimmick" that is introduced in a generation, being done so since Gen 5 or 6 depending on who you ask. While they are controversial, they are a big part of making generations feel unique. Thus, for this slate, you can sub either a past generational gimmick or create your own. The option to not have a generational gimmick at all will also be given at voting.

Rules:
- You can either sub a past generational mechanic or a new one. Past generational gimmicks include Gems (Gen 5), Mega Evolution (Gen 6), Z-Moves (Gen 7), and Dynamax (Gen 8). Note that if you sub Dynamax, you'll have to sub a heavily nerfed version of it unless you specifically intend for it to be banned from singles metagames
- Each person can only sub one mechanic
- Regional Forms are not generational mechanics and are already a part of this mod, so don't sub those
- Generational mechanics effect either the moves of a Pokémon, their stats, or change their form and ability
- While this slate is quite open-ended, stuff like this is very limited by coding, so if you sub an original idea, please keep it simple. I'll let you know if your idea is uncodeable or unintentionally broken

Template:
Name: The name of your mechanic
Effect: How your mechanic works. I left this vague on purpose, so be sure to clearly explain how your mechanic works in detail
Universal?: Answer "Yes" if the mechanic can be used by all Pokémon, "No" if only certain Pokémon can use them, and "Yes, with Signatures" if all Pokémon can use it but certain Pokémon get signature versions
Flavor: Explain the flavor of your mechanic. Why can Pokémon in this region utilize this mechanic? Does it have any connections to a possible plot? Past Gen mechanics are not required to have flavor justification but you're still encouraged to give one
Justification: Explain why your mechanic should be added and how it effects battles in a positive way

Feel free to steal this if you planned on subbing them

Name: Mega Evolution
Effect: Using an item called a Mega Stone certain Pokemon are given the ability to "evolve" in battle. These evolutions give them a new ability, potentially a new secondary typing, and +100 to their BST. The evolution lasts for the entire battle, but you can only Mega Evolve 1 Pokémon per battle.
Universal?: No
Flavor: *insert flavor here*
Justification: Gives certain Pokemon a huge buff, giving them new roles or making them much better at their current role

Name: Type Gems
Effect: A set of 18 Items that increase the power of the first move you use of the type of the gem by 1.3x. The gem is then consumed. The move used retains all of its effects that turn.
Universal?: Yes
Flavor: *insert flavor here*
Justification: Enables Unburden strategies and allows mons to have a one time nuke with no real drawback

For the Teachable Moves List, over the course of the slate, we want to hear your thoughts on what moves should be teachable through TMs and Move Tutors. This has a big effect on creating full movepools for new Pokemon (as well as deciding what moves would be legal for Pokémon in VGC if we really wanted to be that detailed, though that sounds like a crazy amount of work lmao). Thus, the council will use your feedback on what moves you think should and shouldn't be teachable and create a list. You can also suggest for placeholders to be given for new moves that we'd create later and whether or not moves like Hidden Power or Toxic should be universal. You can give suggestions alongside your mechanic sub or discuss it on Discord. Here's the TM List from last gen for reference.

As this slate feature non-Pokémon submissions and I know we all want to get to the starter slate, I will tentatively have submissions open for 3 days, though I may shorten or lengthen it if need be

Name: Unleash!
Effect: Take specific Pokémons on a little challenge to unleash them with potentially increased stats, different abilities/types and possibly improved movepools. The exact changes differ from mon to mon. And not all get access. Unleashed Mons have a different appearance to denote that they are so you know in battle if it’s unleashed enemy mon. Unleashed Mons are fair so if they have a regional variation then both forms have an unleash but the value the buffs or ability gains may provide might not be so even if certain parts of the pair are uneven. Some Mons have 2 possible unleashes. Unleashing is Permanent and Will trigger species clause. If an unleash mon can mega then the unleash will overwrite the ability to mega.
Universal?: Most potentially. Are you a garbage mon? Then get a buff! Some unleashes like Regigas simply give it a new ability and some spikes on its body. Others like Dunsparce, Sunflora and Spinda have major stat increases and other advantages.

As an example, Unleashed Banette gains a normal typing gets a stat boost of some degree and gets Guts as a replacement to Frisk but it can’t mega. All effects are subject to balance changes.

Flavor: The fountain of “youth” is the name of the game. You must unleash its inner night at the fountain of Proof. Such Florida.
Justification: A usable Raticate, Keckleon, Dewgong, Exeggcutor, Cramorant, Eiscue, Delibird, Delcatty, Muk… I can just pull up the list of NU and below and run through it all day.
The buffs provided is an almost anything goes (within reason) as to what the buffs can provide.

Name: Loria Megas
Effect: reintroduces the mega mechanic but only uses newly designed or reviewed megastones. This includes possible Primal Reversions for Legendaries.
Universal?: No
Flavor: The mega mechanic is a very fun one conceptually, give a lesser used pokemon a big stat boost/stat redistribution in exchange and potential for different styles of play and more involvement in higher tiers. It was unfortunately coopted by more powerful mon who didnt NEED a mega, but got one and could just run ranpant over the metagame, e.g Mega Metagross.
Justification: this brings back one of the most wished for mechanics, without inherently bringing back Mega Pokemon considered overpowering from Gen 6. It gives the effectively 'Lorian Form' Megas without necessarily redesigning the base form.
