Flavor/Design: Regiterra is a light brown, cubical Regi that is made entirely out of clay. It has a light orange dot pattern on its face that resembles a capital "A". According to legend, Regiterra was one of the first Pokémon made by Regigigas. However, Regiterra's immense power- particularly its ability to cause devastating earthquakes- was too much for Regigigas to control. Eventually, Regigigas was forced to seal Regiterra in a large, maze-like pyramid. It then used ropes to tow the pyramid off to a far-off land, which eventually became the Brazdo region.
Competitive: 200 Attack is nasty, especially when backed up with a boosting move like Bulk Up. Of course, Regiterra can't do anything to Flying types, and its special bulk is so low it probably dies to a Water Gun. Still, Spectrier shows us that bad coverage literally does not matter. Definetely OU, possibly Uber.

Flavor/Design: Regimental is a light purple, oval shaped Regi. The top of its head is incredibly wrinkled, making it closely resemble a human brain. It also has a light pink dot pattern on its face that resembles a capital "B" flipped upside down. According to legend, Regimental was one of the first Pokémon made by Regigigas. However, Regimental's immense power- particularly its masterful control of telekenisis- was too much for Regigigas to control. Eventually, Regigigas was forced to seal Regimental in a large, maze-like pyramid. It then used ropes to tow the pyramid off to a far-off land, which eventually became the Brazdo region.
Competitive: 200 Special Attack is nasty, especially when backed up with a boosting move like Calm Mind. Of course, Regimental can't do anything to Dark types, and its physical bulk is so low it probably dies to a Bite. Still, Spectrier shows us that bad coverage literally does not matter. Definitely OU, possibly Uber.

Flavor/Design: Regitoxic is a dark green Regi, with no arms or legs, making it look like a giant ball of toxic green goo. It has a neon green dot pattern on its face that resembles a capital "C" flipped onto its side. According to legend, Regitoxic was one of the first Pokémon made by Regigigas. However, Regitoxic's immense power- particularly its incredibly corrosive body- was too much for Regigigas to control. Eventually, Regigigas was forced to seal Regitoxic in a large, maze-like pyramid. It then used ropes to tow the pyramid off to a far-off land, which eventually became the Brazdo region.
Competitive: Regitoxic is interesting because its probably the most balanced of all the Regis. It has amazing attacking stats, but its ability, typing, and movepool also let it have a nice defensive niche. Those positive mean nothing when you can't do anything to Steel types, though. UU at the absolute best.

Origin: Well, you can never have too many Regis Seriously, though, a region based on South America, what with all its Mayan temples and ancient ruins, is perfect for some new Regis. Their typings were chosen so that they could form a sort of quintent with Regieleki and Regidrago; they're all typings that don't affect another type this is also why their movepools are made up of only STAB moves + Explosion and AncientPower

Lunonca line (pseudo-legendary) (WIP)

Description: A Coil sweeper that is very hard to stop from the physical side once it gets going. Long Reach negates the downside of a two-hit contact move, so Rocky Helmet users and foes such as Ferrothorn can't abuse it at all.
Design/Lore:

Dex 1: Pythos is rarely seen by humans. It hides deep within the jungle and only shows itself to formidable trainers.
Dex 2: According to legend, the dark head devours the innocent, while the white head devours the wicked.

Description: With a high Speed stat and both Dread Wing and Foul Play, this pokemon can deal heavy damage to most offensive pokemon while also investing heavily in HP. It has trouble damaging walls, but it can use Taunt to prevent them from abusing it, or U-turn to keep up momentum. It can also serve as a reliable Defog user thanks to its bulk and Speed.
Design/Lore:

Dex 1: It lives up on a remote mountain. It is said Morndos only appears before someone who has suffered a great loss.
Dex 2: When it flaps its four wings, emotions are amplified to unbearable levels. Only the most determined trainers can stand its presence.

Lore/Inspiration

I wanted to try and integrate these with the current legendaries (Flowiai, Azmodulan, and Hyakada) as much as I can. Flowiai and Azmodulan are Dragon-Titans that represent the rivers and forests, respectively. This really reminds me of the mythological archetype of a hero slaying a dragon in order to either bring peace to his world, or in some cases, create the world. I decided to let these two represent the challenge faced by the Brazdan ancients of carving out an existence in a very hostile and challenging ecosystem (i.e. surviving in the forests and rivers).

Hyakada is warrior that flies through the sky once every 100 years. To me this represents some kind of aspirational ideal or call to adventure. Perhaps an ancient hero saw Hyakada at the beginning of his journey, sort of like Ash seeing Ho-Oh.

With Hyakada representing the beginning of a journey and the titans representing the end goal, the minor legendary trio should naturally represent steps along the way. I decided to make them represent different aspects of personal growth; challenges of life that one must accept and live in accordance with in order to move forward. I decided to choose animals to represent each of these (drawing on a lot of mythology related to animals) in order to keep them having a "jungle" feel.

In order to unify them design-wise, each of them has an unusual number of certain body parts, and each one clutches a golden branch of a fruit tree. The fruit branch shows that there is a reward for overcoming the challenge that they represent, and the extra body parts make them appear more like deities (and have some meaning behind them as well). There is also a consistent color scheme (grey, white, gold branch, red eyes).

The serpent represents the dark side of human nature.
The salamander represents chaos and the unknown.
The condor represents death and suffering.

Design/Lore: Based on the legendary Amaru of Incan folklore. It's a two-headed snake (a head on both ends, not a split body) that in many myths either gets turned to stone, or turns itself to stone. It's a creature that lives underground and is associated with fertility, the underworld, and earthquakes. Later versions (European influnced) of this creature are more chimeric, with wings and heads of other animals. I wanted to primarily focus on the older versions, however I think some elements of the later ones (such as wings) could ensure it looks more like a traditional Dragon type.
Description: A bulky win condition that excels in sand, or a defensive tank. It's signature move differentiates it quite a bit from Garchomp and Zygarde, who can otherwise run boosting sets more effectively than it can. It would work very well with a White Herb to negate the Speed loss, or a Weakness Policy to take advantage of the boosted defenses. It would also be quite good in doubles next to a Trick Room user. However, turning into a mono Rock type is also a pretty sharp downside, as it will gain lots of new weaknesses. Many extremely bulky Rock types exist that are not that strong, so I think it will not be overwhelming.

Mythical Legendary (Chibardo)

Design/Lore: Based on a deity of the Muisca culture, Chibchaca, who was the god of rains and thunders. According to legend, he planned a rebellion against the most revered deity, Bochico. When his rebellion failed, in his anger he created a massive flood that forced people to flee to the mountains. Bochico came down and created a valley to clear away the flood waters, and afterward punished Chibchaca by making him replace the wooden pillars that held up the earth, and hold it up himself. When earthquakes happen, it is said to be Chibchaca shifting his load. The name is based on "Chibchaca" as well as "fardo", the Portuguese word for "burden".
Description: A defensive pivot that can dissuade direct attacking with its ability. There are many ways to avoid activating this ability, but Chibardo can punish many of them with its other moves. Volt Switch punishes switching in general, and Ice Beam punishes most types that don't fear strong Ground-type moves. Its stats are well set up to run a -Spe nature and make good use of both its physical and special movepool, so it'd be a natural Assault Vest user, that avoids passivity by pivoting and having solid coverage.

Defending the pack in this way is considered a rite of passage for young Galliwatts.
Potential Competitive Role: While it has very low stats by LC standards, access to the combo of Galvanize and decent STABs in Return and Iron Tail paired with Coil can make Galliwatt an adequate sweeper, or you can slap a Choice Specs on it and have it spam Hyper Voice and Flash Cannon

Flavour/Design: Based on the Brazilian galliwasp, a very long lizard that almost looks like a snake but with stubby little legs, and a tesla coil. Ampalangoes are massive, serpentine, tubes of electricity that patrol the perimeter of Brazdan's biggest forests. Any Pokemon or human that lives around forest knows to be on their best behavior around the behemoth, lest they receive a nasty electric Tackle into a nearby wall or tree for their troubles, and that's the most tame thing it'll do to you. Ampalangoes are extremely territorial, creating forcefields of electricity to prevent competitors from getting to areas that the Ampalangoes claim as their own, which gets to be pretty annoying for nearby farmers if the beast happens to claim some of their farmland.
Potential Competitive Role: Ampalango is a bulky thing, with impressive 100/95/125 bulk, which, combined with a great defensive typing, and only okay but nearly equal offenses and a decent speed tier, makes it an extremely versatile Pokemon, from Coil sets that abuse the low accuracy Mega Kick and Iron Tail to great effect, to being able to rock a Choice Specs and be a nasty offensive pivot with STAB Hyper Voice and coverage in Earth Power and Signal Beam, and it can even be an annoying defensive pivot with Spikes, Thunder Wave, U-Turn, Knock Off, and Iron Head. Definitely a jack of all trades, master of none.

Design/Lore: Based on the legendary Amaru of Incan folklore. It's a two-headed snake (a head on both ends, not a split body) that in many myths either gets turned to stone, or turns itself to stone. It's a creature that lives underground and is associated with fertility, the underworld, and earthquakes. Later versions (European influnced) of this creature are more chimeric, with wings and heads of other animals. I wanted to primarily focus on the older versions, however I think some elements of the later ones (such as wings) could ensure it looks more like a traditional Dragon type.
Description: A bulky win condition that excels in sand, or a defensive tank. It's signature move differentiates it quite a bit from Garchomp and Zygarde, who can otherwise run boosting sets more effectively than it can. It would work very well with a White Herb to negate the Speed loss, or a Weakness Policy to take advantage of the boosted defenses. It would also be quite good in doubles next to a Trick Room user. However, turning into a mono Rock type is also a pretty sharp downside, as it will gain lots of new weaknesses. Many extremely bulky Rock types exist that are not that strong, so I think it will not be overwhelming.

Any Pokemon or human that lives around forest knows to be on their best behavior around the behemoth, lest they receive a nasty electric Tackle into a nearby wall or tree for their troubles, and that's the most tame thing it'll do to you. Ampalangoes are extremely territorial, creating forcefields of electricity to prevent competitors from getting to areas that the Ampalangoes claim as their own, which gets to be pretty annoying for nearby farmers if the beast happens to claim some of their farmland.
Potential Competitive Role: Ampalango is a bulky thing, with impressive 100/95/125 bulk, which, combined with a great defensive typing, and only okay but nearly equal offenses and a decent speed tier, makes it an extremely versatile Pokemon, from Coil sets that abuse the low accuracy Mega Kick and Iron Tail to great effect, to being able to rock a Choice Specs and be a nasty offensive pivot with STAB Hyper Voice and coverage in Earth Power and Signal Beam, and it can even be an annoying defensive pivot with Spikes, Thunder Wave, U-Turn, Knock Off, and Iron Head. Definitely a jack of all trades, master of none.

As for stuff we could potentially have for the last slate, something that Gen 3 and 7 did a lot is making 2 or more single-stage Pokemon that are counterparts to each other (Ex: Turtonator & Drampa, Passimian & Oranguru, Illumise & Volbeat, Eiscue & Stonjourner), which we don't really have outside of the fossils. We also don't have that many regional forms, so I could see us wanting more of those

Also, I'm not sure if non-Pokemon stuff would be handled during the next slate or after, but there's a couple smaller things we have to do like the starter's signature moves (I believe that's what we decided to do with them but I forget), new mechanic (if we want one), what new moves will be the 2 new TMs, and making a regional dex for flavor and maybe VGC (which was discussed a tiny bit on Discord)

Yeah, they do, the type of signature moves for the new starters I was referring to would be in the vein of the Gen 8 starters' Drum Beating/Pyro Ball/Snipe Shot or the Gen 6 starters' Spiky Shield/Mystical Fire/Water Shuriken (before they got distributed)

Also, another non-new-Pokemon thing we can consider for after the next slate is that in every gen since Gen 6, select Pokemon have had stat buffs (and in Gen 8's case, a nerf), so we can consider giving out a couple minor +10/20 stat buffs. Gen 6 and 7 did it to a lot of Pokemon each, but Gen 8 only had the Aegislash nerf, so we can probably don't have to do that many

Let me list a few things:

• Traditional new evolutions for existing Pokémon: The OP states that we can make whole new evolutions for official Pokémon, but it doesn’t seems that we have any of that yet. Candidates for new evolutions should be the official Pokémon that fits well in the Brazil-inspired region and culture.
• More Counterparts: Yoshiblaze already explained that one. It can be implemented in the above or below ideas.
• A Few More Regional Forms: Yoshiblaze also explained that one. One or two Regional Evolutions alongside are optional.
• Non-Archtypical Pokémon: What I mean is about Pokémon that are not typical of their typing, for example a Rock-type with low Defense, a Special Attacking Fighting-type, and a defensive / wall Electric-type. This can be encouraged in the other ideas.
• ”Gimmicky” Pokémon: I don’t refer to Pokémon that simply changes their form outside of battle, I moreso refers to Pokémon that is designed around a gimmick, such as Ditto’s Transform, Smeargle’s Sketch, Morpeko’s Hunger Switch + Aura Wheel, in-battle form changes that aren’t Mega Evolution or G-Max such as Aegislash’s Stance Change, etc. Doesn’t have to be OU material but should not be entirely around the gimmick either.

I just want to say that we need more Water-types, as Brazdo PokéDex only has 3 or 4 new ones, and none of them is a fish or anythng even similar (ok Carvanha, but its a regional variant, not a new Pokémon). I would like to add 2 or 3 water-type evolutionary lines.

The only playable meta is NatDex OU right now, but if we ever make a regional dex, we could totally add a regional dex OU and/or VGC meta. Monotype, NFE, and LC (as long as you set all your mons to Level 5) are also playable

This iteration will follow the same format for the most part, with all the same templates and same rules, unless otherwise specified. It will also be hosted within this thread. Since this is a flavor-based mod, we won't be too strict with competitive submissions, just make sure that you don't submit anything that's obviously broken as this will be playable eventually.

Speaking of playability, this iteration of Generation X will follow the continuity of the first iteration. Thus, the Pokémon from the previous generation will exist in this generation's National Dex, they can be put into this generation's Regional Dex (more on that later), and you can make Regional Forms for them (though, if you're making a regional form for something that you didn't sub originally, I'd recommend asking the original creator for permission before doing. This also applies if we have a generational gimmick that applies to a select group of Pokémon and for Cross Gen evolutions).

Below I've laid out a general roadmap for this generation, we might not follow it exactly, but it's about what you can expect to happen. This will also be useful in case I've ever inactive, as a council member or common contributor can step in and keep the mod moving

Slates will have ~5 days of submissions and ~2 days of voting

- Region and Box Legendaries -

For the first slate, you will create the region that this generation will take place in as well as the major legendaries within that region! The region can be based on an existing real-world location (in fact it's recommended that you do that) and you should give it a little lore as well. For the legendaries, you can sub a set of 1-3 legendaries that follow the rules below.

Rules:
- Each component of the main legendary trio must have a Base Stat Total between 660 and 680
- They can all have an alternate form that changes their BST to a maximum of 780; they can change or add a maximum of 1 type, and if one of the two main legendary counterparts has an altered form, the other one must have it too. If the main two legendaries have an alternate form, it's recommended that you give the third legendary one, too, but not required.
You can show changes to stats, typing and abilities by putting an "->" arrow next to the original ones.

Name: Dario-Gami [portmanteau of the Ojibae words for Ontario and Michigan. This is two regions put into one, sorta.
Inspiration: Michigan State and the Province of Ontario. Also known as the Great Lakes Region.

Lore: A region with vast plains and a chain of lakes in the middle. The Manitoulin region is highly populated, with the lakes serving as a primary form of navigation. There has always been a rivalry between the north and the south, and some Pokemon can only be found on one side of the lakes or the other, and some Pokemon have completely different forms depending on what side of the lakes they are on (like Shellos but it matters more).

The Dario region people are reserved and laidback, but highly polite and believe in good manners. In contrast, the Gami region people are boisterous, looking to get and say exactly what they want, though they would never be rude. Diets and cultural activities vary, as the Dario region is colder, and contains a smaller percentage of the overall population. To offer a comparison, the culture of Dario would be similar to Alola, while for Gami it would be similar to Unova.

Justification: I wanted something geographically different for a region. Every region has some degree of ocean as a border, but this region is completely landlocked. I also wanted to play on some kind of Mt. Coronet system, with a region split in half, and I realized this was the perfect basis, as this is a significant geographic region split between two countries, where the water is so fundamentally important to life for both countries. The idea here is that, normally, two regions are in fact stuck together due to their shared dependency on the lake chain. The lakes themselves create some cool transportation routes for an open-world game, as the region would normally be quite circular, but instead you can cross a lake at virtually any time to get to the other side.

Lore wise, there is obvious inspiration from Indigenous cultures, as this region is the traditional territory for countless communities pre-European contact. There's also a lot of room to play with the unique geography in determining the lore: how have people used the lakes? How are the Darios and Gamis similar/different? Do they get along? The second region creates so many new ways to tell a story. I'm particularly most interested in the 'More Substantial Shellos-like forms' this can create, opening up a lot of opportunities to create some cool Pokemon without really increasing dex slots (though I don't think this should be done for every mon, it should be used regularly, especially for Pokemon with more niche habitats).

Flavor/Design: Polar bear moment, or what Beartic should've been. It is the legend for Dario. It also appears to be a wanderer. There have been talks that it is actually not native to the Dario subregion, but instead came to the region when its previous region melted. Black bears are on the Ontario coat of arms.
Potential Competitive Role: Wonder Room is pretty cool. Bring in the special Koff switching. Absolute Zero really plays around with Wonder Room.

Name: Brunica (Brunician for regional prefix)
Inspiration: Canada but especially New Brunswick, with a few parts from Ontario and Vancouver (metropolis), and have the ocean side, the cold climate (colder and harsher winter than their American neighbor), interest on winter sports and the variety of environments. Also have an emphasis on solidarity between the communities.

Lore: The Brunica region was largely unknown in the Pokémon world, does to it's uncharted territories and the attention given to Unova, it's nearby neighbor region. However, for it's relatively small size, it does have a lush, lively environment full of lives, under the guard of Lutakon. Unfortunately, the region is in constant risk of being overrun by the two dangerous Legendary Pokémon, Akhut (dweller of dry lands and the sea) and Wendora (dweller of tundras and the North Pole), forcing Lutakon to seal itself by releasing a calming aura that even Akhut and Wendora calms down for centuries.

Flavour/Design: Heavily based of the Akhlut, a wolf-orca hybrid mythical creature that dwells in the land and beaches. Despite what the people of Brunica region were saying it was a necessary evil to control overpopulating humanity and Pokémon, Akhlut aim to eradicate and devour every single living being of the land as it despises presence of everything softer than it. While often busy confronting Wendora, it was singlehandedly responsible for several Pokémon becoming extinct a very long time ago. Dark red and white color scheme.
Potential Competitive Role: As there isn't any Uber-leveled Water-type or Dark-type Pokémon known for physical prowess, Akulut will fill this gap. Although basic at first, Cruel Strike is an exceptionally powerful Dark-type move that punishes switch-ins, or it can use Pursuit to chase down Lugia and non-Mega Mewtwo. Having 110 Speed is higher than average, allowing to use Choice Scarf to revenge kill, or equip a Life Orb to enhance their physical prowess further without worry of HP draining thanks to Evil Devourer. In short, a Water/Dark type physical wallbreaker, sweeper or Psychic/Ghost trapper.

Flavour/Design: The Wendigo is one of Canada's most famous mythical creatures, so you would know what one would looks like. Barely humanoid, it bends forwards with a skeleton-like disposure that reveals icicles letting out of it's corpse-like body, with messed up horns sprouting out of it's forehead. A malevolent Legendary Pokémon of Brunica, it thrives to bring eternal suffering to all of the region by turning it into an unlivable icy palace for it to live in, and devour anything that tries to survive in such a cruel environment. Although it often conflicts with Akalut, it otherwise lives in the coldest tundra that not even the bravest Trainer dared to explore before.
Potential Competitive Role: Another new Legendary that many Psychic-type will despise to confront. With an abnormally blistering Speed of 154 and powerful 144 Special Attack, even Mega Gengar couldn't outspeed this thing so easily. It's Coldest Heart Ability allows it to revenge kill anything wearing a Choice Scarf, and it's Icicle Ended is a powerful revenge killed tool against weakened foes. In short, Coldest Heart in general will mess with speedy Ubers Pokémon, including the mighty Mega Rayquaza in AG, allowing for smooth revenge killing. Being immune of Extreme Speed also helps, but it have to watch for Marshadow that have Shadow Sneak. Frailness in general is it’s biggest weakness, as such it cannot afford to manually switch in at all unless through pivoting, and Ice-type related weaknesses doesn’t help, wanting to run Heavy-Duty Boots to avoid painful Stealth Rock damage.

Flavour/Design: Combines aspect of a lutin (gnome) and a variety of elder trees (including the mythical Yggdrasil). The Resting form is surprisingly small, looking like a small but stout tree having resemblance to a gnome. The Awakened form is much more fierce, larger and magnificent looking, with a colorful array of different leaves and green "Tron lines" that energizes up when about to attack or use a recovery move. The Awakened form have multiple arms, referring that a tree have multiple branches, not just two.
Potential Competitive Role: Decided to go a little unorthodox; a pure Grass-type Legendary sounds bad on Ubers, but it have an unique Ability that allows it to turn their Fire and Ice weaknesses into resistances. This allows it to deal with Primal Groudon as it will effectively resist both Fire and Ground, while also being able to handle a myriad of Water-type Ubers like Kyogre without worry of getting hit by Ice Beam. Bug and Poison Ubers are not very numerous, leaving Flying a common threat to it. The Awakened Form is especially threatening, having access to a recovery move that also boosts both it's Attack and Special Attack in additional of huge but well rounded bulk, and no one knows if it would be physical or special! It's slow Speed would definitely gives it grievance when facing similarly bulky opponents and wallbreakers, and the added 50% damage increase from Bug-type moves means that Pheromosa and especially Genesect may have an additional niche to counter it.

 

[NeonNitroGlycerin]

Name: Miskat
Inspiration: Massachusetts (and also a lot of H.P. Lovecraft's stuff)
Lore: The Miskat region has been inhabited by two immensely powerful Pokemon for as long as anyone can remember. They are constantly pursuing their own (often conflicting) agendas, but rarely at the expense of the regions humans or other Pokemon. The locals have become accustomed to their antics, and due to their involvement, the Miskat region has become a hotspot for art and science. Recently, however, Miskat's patrons have grown increasingly restless due to Ultra Wormholes suddenly appearing in the sky, and the random cults devoted to said wormholes aren't helping matters...
In an actual Pokemon game set in this region, the bulk of the storyline would be the player attending the Miskat region's premiere Battle College (inspired by Harvard), and completing the various "classes" (gym replacements), each revolving around specific strategies (e.g. status spam, weather, terrain, etc.). The teachers of the classes would assign the player various tasks to accomplish around the region, including quashing the efforts of the wormhole cults. The endgame begins when the cults manage to coordinate, actually succeeding in their ritual, resulting in and driving Pyrogha and Nyarvahrd into a frenzy. The player would have to calm the legendary of their choice (they get to choose in-game, its not version locked) by catching it in typical Pokemon fashion, and then beat some sense into the one they didn't choose. The player must then enter the massive wormhole and figure out the cause of these strange happenings in Miskat once and for all...

Flavor/Design: Pyrogha is a massive ball of fire with three eyes. It has been observing the development of mankind for millennia. It is voracious in its pursuit of beauty, and will often appear in the dreams of artistically-inclined humans to inspire them.
Potential Competitive Role: Pyrogha is a powerful (boots-locked) bulky attacker that is constantly healing itself with its signature move.

Flavor/Design: Nyarvahrd appears to be a vaguely humanoid, constantly roiling mass of gray ooze with one pale yellow eye. It has been observing the development of mankind for millennia. It is voracious in its pursuit of knowledge, and will do whatever it takes to learn more about humanity.
Potential Competitive Role: Nyarvahrd is an extremely useful pivot with a variety of options to support its allies and disrupt its opponents.
