Pet Mod Generation X (Region 2 - Completed, Playtesting)

No one of the Starter Movepools submissions included an exclusive move. Do we want them?

  • Make the submitters of the winning movepools suggest the exclusive moves (they won't be voted)

  • Make a slate overlapped with the next one to decide them

  • We don't need exclusive moves, not all starters had them

Results are only viewable after voting.

Name: Blizzbug (Blizzard + Bug)
Typing:

Abilities: Compound Eyes / Reckless / Slush Rush
Base Stats: 55 / 92 / 69 / 92 / 69 / 91 (468 BST)
Height: 0.8 m
Weight: 20.2 kg
Notable Moves: Slap Shot, Blizzard, Thunder, Thunderbolt, Ice Beam, Triple Axel, Dual Wingbeat, U-Turn, Volt Switch, Thunder Wave, Double-Edge, Coaching, Play Rough, Brick Break, Hail, Electric Terrain, Quick Attack, Roost, Rage Powder, Stun Spore, Tailwind, Taunt, Ice Ball, Fell Stinger, Bug Buzz, After You
Flavor/Design: Based on bees and the Tampa Bay Lightning, a professional Ice Hockey team from Florida, whose mascot is a bee. Hockey is a sport that was just recently introduced to the people of Loria, but thanks to their worldwide domination of the sport, it's become an absolute hit, and Blizzbug is one big reason for it. While it's not very big or strong, once a team of Blizzbugs get on the ice, you'll have a hard time detecting them with the human eye. Using their blistering Speed, Blizzbugs are exceptional goal scorers, easily outmaneuvering other Pokemon and humans alike. And don't let their light weight fool you, a full Speed check from one of them can easily send any other Pokemon flying into the wall. Blizzbugs make for great mascots thanks to their family-friendly appearance, likely also contributing to the newfound popularity of Hockey in the region.
Potential Competitive Role: Look, there's a way more optimized Ice/Electric in the Brazdo Dex, so with my self-imposed BST limitation for realism, this thing was never gonna be better than that thing or Arctozolt. Even so, decent offenses and 2 great abilities in Compound Eyes and Slush Rush with that typing will let this make waves in lower tiers and its interesting assortment of utility moves in Rage Powder, Coaching, After You, and Tailwind may give it a VGC niche

Name: Slap Shot
Power: 100
Accuracy: 80
PP: 10
Category:

Type:

Effect: Deals 25% of the damage it would deal if the target protected themselves that turn (a la Z-Moves)
Priority: 0
Flags (ex: Contact, Sound): Protect, Mirror, Bullet
Distribution: Blizzbug
Justification: Compound Eyes Blizzard is just better even with its 9% chance of missing, but it's a neat flavor move to reference a hard shot in Hockey. Those goalies can't block them forever, y'know.

Name: Lorian Elgyem
Evolution: Evolves into Lorian Beheeyem at Level 42 near an Ice Rock or in the Cold Storage/Evil Team Cryogenic Storage
Typing:

Abilities: Technician / Synchronize | Compound Eyes
Base Stats: 55 / 55 / 75 / 55 / 75 / 20 (335 BST)
Height: 0.6 m
Weight: 13.0 kg
Notable Moves: Blizzard, Frost Breath, Ice Beam, Ice Shard, Icicle Crash, Icicle Spear, Icy Wind, Psychic, Recover, Thunder, Thunderbolt, Zen Headbutt (im not giving this axel thats a bit too much)
Flavor/Design: Since Florida (and by extension Loria probably) has a tropical climate, all of my subs this round are intended to be encountered in an area similar to Unova's Cold Storage and/or that Cryogenic Storage area Samtendo came up with, that seems pretty cool. My initial inspiration for this line was actually an optional boss fight in Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story, where the Mario bros. incidentally thaw out hostile mushroom aliens and before smacking em around. The idea of an alien kept on ice, and the very common sci-fi trope of cryonic freezing in general, developed pretty quickly. And ye, they were also a tiny bit inspired by The Thing and the original novel the film was based on, though it's really just the frozen alien part I'm looking at. Since these are big-brained Pokémon who are now frozen, I guess you could say they're suffering from a brain freeze.

Originally stored cryonically for secretive research purposes, years of being frozen in ice has changed Elgyem's physiology. Having broken free through unknown means, Lorian Elgyem's head is entirely encased in ice as a result of being frozen for so long, and this dampens its psychic powers.

Name: Lorian Beheeyem
Typing:

Abilities: Technician / Synchronize | Compound Eyes
Base Stats: 65 / 95 / 75 / 95 / 75 / 80 (485 BST)
Height: 1.4 m
Weight: 55.5 kg
Notable Moves: Lorian Elgyem's movepool
Flavor/Design: Rather than try to fully free itself of the ice, Lorian Beheeyem has embraced the cold, forming claws of ice on its arms to make up for its permanently weakened psychic powers. Lorian Beheeyem is more slick and streamlined, overwhelming its foes with its heightened speed and icy attacks. I kinda imagine big Xenomorph vibes for this for whatever reason.

Name: Frozuna (Frozen + Tuna)
Typing:

Abilities: Ice Body | Refrigerate
Base Stats: 70 / 95 / 100 / 40 / 75 / 100 (480 BST)
Height: 0.8 m
Weight: 33.0 kg
Notable Moves: Brine, Bulk Up, Frustration, Liquidation, Return, Scale Shot, Stomping Tantrum, Quick Attack
Flavor/Design: Here's a more goofy idea. For some reason, I got really invested in the idea of a frozen seafood mon? But I didn't wanna sub another Ice-type, so here's a Water-type with Refrigerate because y'know, refrigerated food. I'm imagining a sorta generic fish creature (maybe something resembling a tuna or a salmon?) sitting in a pile of slush ice that it can freely control, forming stumpy legs out of the almost liquid ice to traverse land. It's uncertain why Frozuna roam cold storages, though some speculate that that's where they came to life.

Voting starts now!

For this slate, we will have a non-ranked vote, similar to that of FERU. You can vote for up to 5 evolutionary lines, which each line receiving 1 point for each vote. There will be about 4 winners, possibly more depending on how voting turns out.

Example:
Pokemon A
Pokemon B
Pokemon C
Pokemon D
Pokemon E

You may vote for up to 2 of your own submissions

Voting will close in 48 hours

Voting is over! Results and stuff!

Thermonewt - 5
Spoink-Loria - 5
Elgyem-Loria - 4
Frozuna - 4

Phantump-Loria - 2
Litwick-Loria - 1
Vanilluxe-Loria - 1

Thermonewt, Lorian Spoink, Lorian Elgyem, and Frozuna are our new frosty friends!
Name: Thermonewt (Thermal + Newt)
Type: Ice
Ability: Phase Shift
Phase Shift: Becomes Water or Ice-type based on moves used. If using a Water-type attack, changes to Water-type. If using an Ice-type attack, changes to Ice-type. If burned, will remain Water-type.
Base Stats: 65 / 95 / 60 / 103 / 70 / 100 (BST: 493)
Height: 1.2m
Weight: 30kg
Notable Moves: Hydro Pump, Surf, Ice Beam, Freeze Dry, Air Slash, Sludge Bomb, Extrasensory, Icicle Spear, Glare, U-turn, Reflect type, Haze, Icy Wind, Liquidation, Whirlpool, Shadow Ball, Taunt, Acid Armor
Flavor/Design:
Thermonewt are cold-blooded creatures, yet highly-adaptable. In warm climates, they take a more aqueous form. In a day, a single Thermonewt will fluctuate in temperature a few dozen times. The secret is its blue skin, covered in mucus secreting pores. The mucus solidifies and melts like water, it also helps to lubricate its skin. As more absorbs into the skin, it becomes softer and thinner, allowing for it to be more fluid-like.
Name: Lorian Spoink
Typing:

Abilities: Dazzling/Own Tempo (Hidden: Gluttony)
Base Stats: 60/25/80/70/35/60
Notable Moves: Power Gem, Bounce, Rock Slide, Stone Edge, Meteor Beam, Charge Beam
Flavor/Design: Lorian Spoink adapted to the cold by developing a brighter pearl on its head that gives it more energy than usual. The combination thereof also caused Lorian Spoink to become a Rock-type.

Name: Lorian Grumpig
Typing:
/

Abilities: Dazzling/Own Tempo (Hidden: Gluttony)
Base Stats: 80/45/110/100/65/70
Notable Moves: Power Gem, Bounce, Rock Slide, Stone Edge, Meteor Beam, Charge Beam, Energy Ball, Aura Sphere, Focus Blast, Dazzling Gleam, Pearl Barrage
Flavor/Design: Lorian Grumpig has a sturdier body and more muscles than a regular Grumpig thanks to its bright blue pearls and adaptation to the colder climate. Despite this, Lorian Grumpig rarely ever uses them, preferring instead to fire off Aura Spheres and Pearl Barrages.
New Features:
Type: Rock/Special
BP: 85
Accuracy: 100
PP: 10
Effect: 100% chance to lower the target's Attack and Sp. Atk. In Double battles, this attack hits both targets.
Additional distribution: Signature move of Lorian Grumpig.
Potential Competitive Role: Designed with Doubles in mind, can utilize Dazzling to block priority and its signature Pearl Barrage to significantly weaken opponents.

Next slate!

---------------------------------------------------------

- Forests & Jungles -
:sm/lopunny::sm/whimsicott::sm/passimian::sm/slaking:

The slate is another pretty open slate as we're looking at Forests (& Jungles). Forests are another common sight in Pokémon games, typically being the first kind of dungeon you run into in any Pokémon game. Forests are also a great early source of Grass and Bug-types, while still sporting a surprising amount of variety in certain games, often housing Ghost, Normal, and Fighting-types. While much rarer in Pokémon games, jungles will also be part of this slate as they serve a similar purpose but offered even more type variety during their one appearance.
Rules
- You may sub whatever you want for this slate, but any flavor you make for you submissions must be related to the forests, jungles, or trees. Anything that could feasibly live in a forest works, making this a very open-ended slate.
- You may sub up to 5 unique evolutionary lines of forest and/or jungle Pokémon. These lines can include split evolutions.
- There is no hard BST limit for this slate, though you should stay reasonable unless you have a good flavor justification like Slaking.
- As for what's typical for a standard Pokémon, final evolutions tend to peak around the 520-530 range, sometimes going into the 540s for stuff like cross gen evolutions or Gyarados. Florges and Arcanine are the only two non-flavor exceptions to this, being over 550, with the others (Slaking and Archeops) having flavor reasons. Standalone Pokémon tend to stay below 500, especially for early-to-midgame mons, though there are a lot of exceptions for later game mons like Duraludon or Dhelmise.
- You can sub regional forms for this slate.
- Mega Evolutions will NOT be part of this slate. Any Pokémon voted in can be given a Mega Evolution later, however.

Also, because I hate scrolling back to page 12 to find it and I'm sure you do too, here's what the rest of the roadmap looks like right now
Slate 8 (Current Slate) - Forests & Jungles
Slate 9 - Spooky Slate
Slate 10 - Aquatic Slate
Slate 11 - Fossil Slate
Slate 12 - Free Slate (originally the "Lategame Slate" but I'm now realizing that's basically just the later Pseudo-Legend slate and super vague so it'll be just a free slate)
Slate 13 - Gift Pokémon Slate
Slate 14 - Minor Legendaries + Pseudo-Legendary Slate
Extra Slates (if needed) - Counterparts, More New Pokemon, More Regional Forms, etc.
Final Slate - Formation of the Regional Dex

I guess Frozuna can be the main thing Viverodon goes ice fishing for. I've gone ahead and updated the latter's Flavor/Design section with that in case that matters at all.

As for my entries for this round:
Based on the guitarfish (aside from living in mud):
Name: Siltar (Silt + Guitarfish)
Typing:
/

Abilities: Intimidate (Hidden: Static)
Base Stats: 65/35/50/45/70/90 (Total: 365)
Height: 2'6"
Weight: 98.5 lbs.
Notable Moves: Earth Power, Volt Switch, Thunder Wave, Overdrive, Eerie Impulse, Mud Munch
Flavor/Design: Siltar digs tunnels through soil and mud in a way that it looks like it's swimming through them. It sends out shockwaves to hunt for prey, but doing so also attracts Zorboreal, who will happily dive out of trees to strike at and devour it.

Name: Lutitan (Lutite + Titan)
Evolution: From Siltar at Level 40
Typing:
/

Abilities: Intimidate (Hidden: Static)
Base Stats: 95/55/90/80/100/125 (Total: 545)
Height: 10'4"
Weight: 430.6 lbs.
Notable Moves: Earth Power, Volt Switch, Thunder Wave, Overdrive, Eerie Impulse, Mud Munch
Flavor/Design: Lutitan can travel through mud so fast that it looks, sounds, and sometimes impacts objects like a thunderbolt when it does. This, combined with its massive size and unconventional appearance, have led many to call Lutitan "the Gyarados of the forests".
New Features:
Type: Ground/Status
BP: -
Accuracy: -
PP: 5
Effect: Restores 50% of the user's max HP. Restores 75% in Rain, 25% in any other weather condition.
Additional distribution: Wooper, Quagsire, Mudkip, Marshtomp, Swampert, Barboach, Whiscash, Shellos, Gastrodon, Croagunk, Toxicroak, Hippopotas, Hippowdon, Tympole, Palpitoad, Seismitoad, Shelmet, Accelgor, Stunfisk, Stunfisk-Galar, Chewtle, Drednaw, Ursaluna
Potential Competitive Role: Fast defensive pivot with high speed, solid bulk, passable Sp. Atk, and the potential to cripple opponents with either of its Abilities.
Name: Gurugula (Guru + arugula [I know it isn't typically found in Florida, but there's certainly no shortage of things that launch into space there])
Typing:
/

Abilities: Ignite
Base Stats: 75/114/87/106/73/40 (Total: 495)
Height: 8'1"
Weight: 116.4 lbs.
Notable Moves: Energy Ball, Fire Blast, Meditate, Wood Hammer, Flare Blitz, Upward Lunge
Flavor/Design: Gurugula meditates in the sunlit forests of Loria, where it heightens its fiery spirit. If it meditates strongly enough, it can even launch itself high into the air, albeit by pure accident.
New Features:
Effect: User's Normal-type attacks become Fire-type and have their power boosted by 1.2x
Additional distribution: None
Type: Normal/Physical
BP: 85
Accuracy: 95
PP: 10
Effect: Deals twice as much damage to Flying-type or Levitating Pokemon.
Additional distribution: None

Potential Competitive Role: Mixed attacker that can use its signature attack to punish Levitate users or Flying-types that switch in against it.
Name: Lorian Girafarig
Typing:
/

Abilities: Sap Sipper/Inner Focus (Hidden: Anger Point)
Base Stats: 70/100/75/40/75/95
Height: 4'11"
Weight: 91.5 lbs
Notable Moves: Leaf Blade, Stone Edge, Rock Polish, Dual Impact
Flavor/Design: Lorian Girafarig gained its typing from its diet in the forests of Loria. It has a more brash personality and a stronger tail than a regular Girafarig does, so one should be extremely cautious around it.
New Features:
Type: Grass/Physical
BP: 50
Accuracy: 100
PP: 10
Effect: Attacks twice. Second attack is Rock-type.

Potential Competitive Role: Physical attacker who can use both Grass-type and Rock-type attacks simultaneously.

:bw/toxicroak:
Name: Croakorrode (Croak + Corrode)
Evolution Line: Croagunk -> Toxicroak -> Croakorrode (Dusk Stone)
Typing: Poison/Fighting
Abilities: Dry Skin, Solid Rock, Tough Claws (HA)
Base Stats: 93 HP / 116 Atk / 75 Def / 86 SpA / 75 SpD / 95 Spe (540 BST)
Height: 2 meters
Weight: 65 kg
Notable Moves: Close Combat, Drain Punch, Mach Punch, Gunk Shot/Poison Jab, Knock Off/Sucker Punch, Earthquake, Rapid Spin, Swords Dance
Flavor/Design: Lanky lad, two longer poison points on hands instead of one short one and one poison point where the red toe was that’s about as long as the old hand ones (think X-27). Two horns like a devil, maybe both are a bit smaller than Toxicroak’s so it doesn’t take up half of its face. Most of the skin is the same navy blue, but the texture is notably rougher. The poison is pink where the red once was. Instead of a red line on top of the lips, do a funny joker thing with dripping purple poison running up the sides of its mouth like a smile that enhances the shit eating grin the line already has. White bands stay between legs and also wrap around shins and forearms. Keep the central poison sac a bit smaller than it’s previous proportions, but add two smaller sacs to the outside of each thigh.
Potential Competitive Role: Physical Wallbreaker, Setup Sweeper, Hazard Control

LAST MINUTE MONKEYS GO GO GO

Evolution: Final stage; cannot evolve further
Counterpart(s): Firack line

Name: Aboarice
Pre-Evolution: Grumpig; Level-up with the move Toxic (level 45)
Typing:

Abilities: Thick Fat / Sheer Force | Gluttony
Base Stats: 100 HP / 75 Atk / 75 Def / 105 SpA / 135 SpD / 60 Spe (550 BST)
Height + Weight: 2.3 meters, 201 kilometers
Notable Moves: Grumpig’s learnset + Sludge Bomb, Sludge Wave, Toxic (compatibility-wise), Poison Jab, Thunderbolt, Flamethrower, Ice Beam, Sludge, Smog, Taunt, Torment, Knock Off, Bite, Crunch
Flavor/Design: Become quadruped, like how Ursaring becomes one when evolved into Ursaluna (at the time unreleased in traditional-mainline games unless Scarlet-Violet would have it), with more boar-like proportions and longer tusks. The hooves are still shaped like hands, allowing it to take away items from others due to it’s newfound greed. Their pearls can fortify it‘s psychic prowess further, hence the Sheer Force Ability.
Potential Competitive Role: Specially bulky wall or setup wallbreaker / stallbreaker, with the combination of Poison / Psychic, officially exclusive by Galarian Slowbro and Galarian Slowking, tanking special Fairy-type moves like they were nothing; Thick Fat complements it further, allowing to additionally tank Fire and Ice moves. Sheer Force can be used as a wallbreaker / stallbreaker instead.

I forgot Lorian Spoink line won, don’t vote for it!

Name: Candlen (Candle + Castor canadensis)
Evolution: Evolves into Bombastor when exposed to a Fire Stone
Typing:

Abilities: Flash Fire / Magic Bounce / Stalwart
Base Stats: 80 / 75 / 65 / 50 / 50 / 60 (380 BST)
Height: 0.7 m
Weight: 45.1 kg
Notable Moves: Wide Guard, Flare Blitz, Psychic Fangs, Zen Headbutt, Superpower, Crunch, Fire Fang, Thunder Fang, Super Fang, Reflect, Light Screen, Safeguard, Quick Guard, Expanding Force, Taunt, Swords Dance, Sunny Day, Rain Dance, Bulldoze, Magic Coat, Guard Swap, Thunder Wave, Shock Wave, Trick, Flame Charge
Flavor/Design: Based on beavers. If you see the light of a fire in a Lorian forest, don't be afraid. Either that's someone's campfire, or it's a Candlen in action. Candlens protect the forest of Loria from fire by building fireproof walls by manipulating sticks, stones, and fallen trees with their psychic powers. If needed, they can even step into the fire themselves to fortify the other side of the wall or save any Pokemon trapped in the flames. While they can't put out fires, Candlens are great at keeping potential fires in check, making it easy for firefighters to come put them out.
Potential Competitive Role: Magic Bounce is busted and is has decent power and Speed by LC standards, so it might do something there

Name: Bombastor (Bomb/Bombero (firefighter in Spanish) + Bombastic + Castor canadensis)
Typing:

Abilities: Flash Fire / Magic Bounce / Stalwart
Base Stats: 100 / 120 / 85 / 70 / 70 / 80 (525 BST)
Height: 1.7 m
Weight: 212.0 kg
Notable Moves: Candlen's movepool + Earthquake, Block, Whirlwind, Scald, Giga Impact, Hyper Beam, Focus Blast, Ally Switch, Pressure Cook (Move from Gen X Brazdo - Psychic-type Freeze-Dry without the freeze chance)
Flavor/Design: Based on beavers and firefighters. If you're ever caught in a fire, particularly a forest fire, you have nothing to fear if there's a Bombastor around. These courage Pokémon can step into the flames with ease and carry you to safety, or simply float you away from danger with Psychic. From there, they can use their psychic powers to not only contain the fire with a fireproof wall, but even put out the fire by trapping it in a space without air. All experienced firefighters in Loria are given a Bombastor as a companion because of how effective they are at this
Potential Competitive Role: Big wallbreaker, while both Victini and Darmanitan are likely better thanks to having more Speed and U-Turn, Bombastor does pack Magic Bounce and Swords Dance, giving it a pseudo-Toxic/TWave immunity and denying the opponent hazards, and letting it brute force its way through checks if it gets a chance to set up. If neither Victini or Darm show up in the regional dex, it could be a pick on Dexit Meta Sun teams unless a faster/stronger Fire-type is added.

Sparcalf(Spark + Calf) -> Elkoil(Elk + Coil) -> Generelk(Generator + Elk)

Sparcalf:
Evolution(s):
Elkoil - Level-Up to 27
Type: Grass / Electric
Stats: 61/55/42/50/42/60 (310)
Abilities: Chlorophyll / Lightningrod // Solar Power
Height: 0.9m
Weight: 20kg
Design: Sparcalf is a juvenile cervid-like(Deer family like Moose, Deer, Caribou, etc.) Pokemon. It has antler-stubs on its head, that will grow as it evolves. These stubs allow it to gather, store and release small amounts of electric energy. It live in herds and are very jumpy. Ready to run at the slightest of sounds.
Notable Moves: Energy Ball, Seed Bomb, Solar Beam, Wild Charge, Thunder, Discharge, Thunderbolt, Volt Switch**, Bounce, Extrasensory, Synthesis, Swords Dance, Magnet Rise, Thunder Wave
Competitive Role: Mainly an excuse to give Generelk a higher BST, but potentially a sun abuser in LC.

Elkoil:
Evolution(s):
Generelk - Level-Up in Strong Electric Field(like how Magneton and Nosepass evolve)
Type: Grass / Electric
Stats: 81/85/57/70/57/95 (445)
Abilities: Chlorophyll / Lightningrod // Solar Power
Height: 1.6m
Weight: 90kg
Design: Elkoil is a cervid(closer to a caribou or large deer) with decently sized antlers(Males larger than females). It, like Sparcalf lives in herds. Now that its antlers are larger, they are more effective at gathering electrical energy from their surroundings. Males have larger antlers and use them for competing against rivals for the chance to mate.
Notable Moves: Energy Ball, Horn Leech, Seed Bomb, Solar Beam, Wild Charge, Thunder, Discharge, Thunderbolt, Volt Switch, Bounce, Superpower, Extrasensory, Synthesis, Swords Dance, Magnet Rise, Thunder Wave
Competitive Role: An excuse to increase Generelk's BST like Sparcalf, but could see use as a lower-tiered sun abuser depending on the overall power level of the region as well as a semi-bulky Swords Dancer with Eviolite.

Generelk:
Type:
Grass / Electric
Stats: 101/105/57/90/57/105 (515)
Abilities: Chlorophyll / Lightningrod // Direct Current(Name could be changed honestly)
Completes 2-turn moves in a single turn. Does not affect "Recharge" moves like Hyper Beam and Giga Impact.
Height: 2.1m
Weight: 270kg
Design: Generelk is a large Cervid-like(closer to a Moose/Elk this time) Pokemon with large yellow antlers(Males have slightly larger antlers than females). It has a large stature and stocky build. In the wild, it can be found as the leader of a herd of Elkoil and Sparcalf. It is able to quickly and efficiently convert sunlight into electrical energy by using a special organ in its body. If needed, it can even absorb electrical energy from nearby people, Pokemon and even plants. In addition, it can sense faint electrical impulses from a mile away with its antlers and can use them to communicate with other herds and to sense predators.
Notable Moves: Energy Ball, Horn Leech, Seed Bomb, Solar Beam, Solar Blade, Dive*, Dig, Thunder Strike, Wild Charge, Thunder, Discharge, Thunderbolt, Volt Switch**, Bounce, Superpower, Extrasensory, Dazzling Gleam, Flash Cannon, Synthesis, Swords Dance, Magnet Rise, Thunder Wave
*Random fun fact: Moose in real life do actually swim to reach plants off the coast of British Columbia, and are occasionally the prey of Orcas.
**Random fact 2: I don't really want to give this family Volt Switch since it might be obnoxious but other people might like it, so for now it can have it though maybe I might remove it later if I have a change of heart.

110 Power, Electric, Physical, 2 turn, 100% accuracy, 10 PP(16 Max)
The user stores up electricity on the first turn, on the second turn it cloaks its body in electricity and rams into the target at a high speed.

Competitive Role:
Relatively fast and powerful mixed attacker. Has the unique ability to freely abuse 2-turn moves without drawbacks or to play on Sun teams as a Chlorophyll or Swords Dance sweeper. Its colorful coverage lets it mix-n-match moves to become "unwallable" on paper, but its low defenses and "not-that-high" offensive stats may hold it back in practice.

Edit: In order to prevent double/triple-posting, added Thermonewt full moveset and my forest submission here together.

:ss/croagunk:
Flavor: Based on dart frogs, but instead of being poisonous, those are electric. They all have funky patterns and colors. Ribbolt still has a tadpole tail (although it does still look like a frog). Each evolution it becomes fatter and fatter, the last evolution looks like a big fat round bullfrog.

Comp Niche: Some SR setter than can beat flying-type defoggers. Also a menace and a half under rain.

:ss/magcargo:
Flavor: Snail line with a garden gnome aesthetic. Escargnome looks a bit like your typical gnome with a red hat-shaped shell and some sort of weird mollusk beard. Fairysnale has a shell that looks like a stereotypical gnome house, with lots of mushrooms groing everywhere, cute hobbit-style windows and an all-around ceramic look.

Flavor/Design: I’d say it would be a more light green shade with the things pointing up above its eyes now pointing downwards covering its eyes slightly. Lorian pinecos have adapted to the land and fall off trees during the hot days of summer.
Potential Competitive Role: Lc sun sweeper/Hazard setter/removal

Flavor/Design: The armor on top and bottom of forretress are more of a emerald color and forretress main body becomes orange colored. The cannons that stick out of its shell now resemble tree branches.
Potential Competitive Role: Nfe mon probably not that viable outside of an nfe meta as a sun breaker.

New Moves: Wood Hammer, Seed Bomb, Razor Leaf, Leaf Blade, Howl, Hone Claws, Jaw Lock, Snarl, Ice Fang, Thunder Fang, Merciless Rend
Removed Moves: All Fire Moves
Flavor/Design: Jungelion is one of the most feared creatures in Loria, as almost nothing can threaten this menacing apex predator. Nicknamed the "king of the jungle", Jungelion are extremely aggressive and territorial, and you can usually tell when you've entered a Jungelion's territory, as there will be a sharp decrease of wild Pokemon.
Potential Competitive Role: moxie sweep/hone claws/offensive pivot with intimidate
Name: Merciless Rend
Power: 85
Accuracy: 95
PP: 10
Category: Physical
Type: Dark
Effect: Traps the target and applies a bleeding effect on them (akin to Magma Storm) for 4 turns.
Priority: 0
Flags (ex: Contact, Sound): Contact, Bite, Protect
Distribution: Signature
Justification: The user chomps down on it's opponent, leaving it with a lasting wound.

Name: Panthluna (Panther+ Lunar)
Category: Mammal
Evolution: N/A
Typing:

Abilities: Illuminate / Stakeout
Base Stats: 85 / 70 / 75 / 95 / 90 / 100 (515)
Height: 1.1 m
Weight: 75 kg
Notable Moves: Moonblast, Dark Pulse, Moonlight, Crunch, Calm Mind, Pursuit, Play Rough, Hone Claws, Taunt, Thunderbolt, Encore, Mystical Fire, Healing Wish, Dazzling Gleam, Baby-Doll Eyes, Charm, Universals
Flavor/Design: Based of a Florida panther, Panthluna has really dark brown fur (close to black), with blue star (without the circle around it) patterns all over its fur. However, their tails have a yellow north star at the end, not the same as their patterns. Its eyes are a light blue, like a predator whose night vison is on a night. At night it’s tail star also shines, which is why I gave it illuminate. Stakeout was given because that is how panthers hunt, and it helps it competitively as well. At a time, Panthluna were almost hunted to extinction for their beautiful fur patterns, but the Lorian government has implemented major protection over them and their population has boomed and you can find their cubs all around the region, like the common Skitty.
Potential Competitive Role: Wallbreaker that comes in on its checks and threatens to break with stake out boosted attacks on switch ins. Access to taunt, calm mind, and encore also make it an effective stall breaker.

Name: Mewoon (Meow + Moon)
Evolution: Evolves into Panthluna at level 26
Typing:

Abilities: Illuminate / Adorable (Lowers the foes’ defense by 1 on switch in)
Base Stats: 50 / 45 / 40 / 65 / 55 / 55 (310)
Height: .4 m
Weight: 3.5 kg
Notable Moves: Same as full evo except mystical fire, thunderbolt, and Healing Wish
Flavor/Design: Meowoon is the moon kitty pokemon and it looks just like it’s evo in kitty form. However it’s lacks the North Star that Panthluna has. Mewoon are often kept as pets around Loria, and they are very friendly and will give gifts to their owners. They will even give gifts of moon rocks which till this day scientists don’t know how they obtain them.

My subs this slate are meant to be encountered in Loria's Everglades, a series of tropical wetlands that contains mangrove swamps and dense canopy forests. Going for more simple stuff this time.
A cross-generational evolution for Onix, and a counterpart to Steelix. In Loria, Onix will evolve into Cairnix when leveled up near a Mossy Rock (which I like to imagine would be deep in the heart of Loria's largest forest).

Name: Cairnix (Cairn [manmade pile of rocks] + Onix)
Counterpart(s): Steelix
Typing:

Abilities: Rock Head / Sturdy | Leaf Guard
Base Stats: 75 / 105 / 170 / 30 / 60 / 70 (510 BST)
Height: 9.2 m
Weight: 260.0 kg
Notable Moves: Onix's movepool + Head Smash, Leech Seed, Power Whip, Wood Hammer
Flavor/Design: Sort of a "more faithful" Onix evolution, Cairnix would resemble a larger Onix draped in long sheets of moss. Instead of a horn, a small tree resembling a bonsai grows out of its head. Some of the boulders making up its body are etched with white markings.
Name: Serpentin (Serpent + tin [the metal])
Evolution: Evolves into Pythanium when leveled up with Submission
Typing:

Abilities: Shed Skin / Intimidate | Gluttony
Base Stats: 62 / 65 / 56 / 35 / 45 / 52 (315 BST)
Height: 2 m
Weight: 30.0 kg
Notable Moves: Coil, Crunch, Glare, Scale Shot, Submission, Sucker Punch
Flavor/Design: While there are a few animals introduced to Florida that negatively impact its ecosystems, none are as infamous as the Burmese python. The Burmese python's opportunistic feeding has led to it establishing a large population in the Everglades where it has been reducing the numbers of nearly every mammal species there.
Originating from another region, Serpentin's attractive colors and apparent docility led to it being imported to Loria as pets. Unfortunately, Serpentin are ravenous eaters that grow very quickly, causing many owners to release them. Serpentin are now a common sight in Loria, where they prey on Perocotton and Zippyr.

Name: Pythanium (Python + Titanium)
Typing:

Abilities: Shed Skin / Intimidate | Gluttony
Base Stats: 121 / 102 / 82 / 54 / 73 / 78 (510 BST)
Height: 7 m
Weight: 360.0 kg
Notable Moves: Serpentin's movepool
Flavor/Design: While Serpentin would basically be a snake covered in metallic scales, Pythanium is much more chunky as a result of eating so much. Nothing can escape the crushing grasp of a Pythanium, its massive size and nearly impenetrable scales have made it a dominant predator in Loria.
Name: Kittuff (Kitten + Tuft/Tough)
Evolution: Evolves into Catamacho at level 35
Typing:

Abilities: Run Away / Cute Charm | Steadfast
Base Stats: 52 / 52 / 42 / 36 / 36 / 52 (270 BST)
Height: 0.6 m
Weight: 13.5 kg
Notable Moves: Bite, Crunch, Fury Swipes, Growl, Hone Claws
Flavor/Design: The Florida panther is Florida's state animal, and I think it makes for a neat Normal-type. Kittuff would just be a kitten similar in shape to Litleo, covered in spots and having black eyes with blue accents.

Name: Catamacho (Catamount [meaning big cat, but usually refers to a cougar or panther] + Macho)
Typing:

Abilities: Moxie / Unnerve | Steadfast
Base Stats: 86 / 106 / 96 / 82 / 62 / 92 (524 BST)
Height: 1.6 m
Weight: 73 kg
Notable Moves: Kittuff's movepool + Close Combat, Sucker Punch
Flavor/Design: The spots on its fur have changed into a pattern that resembles slashes and scars, emphasizing its Fighting-type, and its blue eyes are now amber, mirroring the growth of the real Florida panther. A cowlick of fur sits just behind its shoulders, again like the real animal.
Catamacho are boisterous fighters that will grapple and claw at their opponents without mercy, though they’re laidback otherwise.

Lorian Pyroar line
Firack line + Nymphire line (SV)*
Ribbolt line
Croakorrode
Candlen line

*The two are counterparts which mean they have to be voted for together, not individually. Voting for just one of the line will count for the two counterparts altogether. Obviously the two can’t be voted seperately.
