Honestly a good way of nerving Sketch is making it only usable in battle and not able to use it to copy moves beforehands. It should be nearly useless then. (Basically Copycat/Mimic/Metronome useful)

Banned deucer.
Why dont we just ban Sketch on Pokemon other than Smeargle? Seems like the easiest way to do it
I was just pointing out how it didn't have to be banned because my reasoning follows the logic of the OP, but sure a quick ban accomplishes the same thing.

Good moves from each Generation:

Gen 6: Electrify (?), King's Shield, Geomancy, Spiky Shield, Play Rough, Hyperspace Hole*, Light of Ruin, Diamond Storm, Steam Eruption, Petal Blizzard*, Freeze Dry, Parting Shot, Topsy-Turvy, Moonblast, Boomburst, Water Shuriken, Nuzzle, Power-up Punch, Infestation, Oblivion Wing, Thousand Arrows, Thousand Waves

Gen 5: Hone claws, Quiver Dance, Coil, Clear Smog, Shell Smash, Shift Gear, Cotton Guard, Hurricane, Tail Slap, Gear Grind, Bolt Strike, Blue Flare, Circle Throw, Dragon Tail, Dual Chop*, Frost Breath, Icicle Crash, Drill run*, Night Daze, Razor Shell*, V-Create, Psyshock, Storm Throw, Sludge Wave, Foul Play, Stored Power, Scald, Acrobatics, Volt Switch, Horn Leech, Sacred Sword, Psystrike, Head Charge, Searing Shot, Techno Blast*, Secret Sword, Fiery Dance

Gen 4: Roost, Gravity, Healing Wish, Tailwind, Toxic Spikes, Aura Sphere, Rock Polish, Nasty Plot, Defog, Trick Room, Stealth Rock, Defend Order, Heal Order, Lunar Dance, Focus Blast, Dragon Rush*, Magma Storm, Gunk Shot, Stone Edge*, Head smash, Dark Void, Power Whip, Seed Flare, Aqua Tail, Zen headbutt, Draco Meteor, Leaf Storm, Thunder Fang*, Ice Fang*, Spacial Rend, Gyro Ball, U-turn, Close Combat, Sucker Punch, Flare Blitz, Poison Jab, Dark Pulse, Night slash*, Attack Order, Power Gem, Drain Punch, Vacuum Wave, Energy Ball, Brave Bird, Earth Power, Switcheroo, Bullet Punch, Ice Shard, Shadow Claw, Shadow Sneak, Flash Cannon, Discharge, Lava Plume, Iron Head, Grass Knot, Chatter, Judgment, Wood Hammer, Aqua Jet, Shadow Force, Air Slash

Gen 3: Wish, Ingrain, Cosmic Power, Magic Coat, Shadow Punch*, Aerial Ace*, Bulk Up*, Magical Leaf*, Calm Mind, Dragon Dance*, Shock wave, Will-o-wisp, Muddy Water*, Bounce*, Heat Wave*, Blaze Kick*, Meteor Mash, Sky Uppercut*, Rock blast, Psycho Boost, Air Cutter*, Fake Out, Facade, Memento, Trick, Superpower, Knock Off, Yawn, Endeavor, Eruption, Tail Glow, Slack Off, Hyper Voice*, Weather Ball, Water Spout, Signal Beam*, Extrasensory*, Bullet Seed, Icicle Spear, Dragon Claw, Volt Tackle*, Leaf Blade*, Doom Desire

Gen 1: Swords Dance, Whirlwind, Recover, Haze, Growth, Agility, Light Screen, Reflect, Transform, Substitute, Blizzard, Ice Beam, Fire Blast, Thunder, Thunderbolt, Flamethrower, Hydro Pump, Leech Seed, High Jump Kick, Bonemerang, Crabhammer, Toxic, Rock Slide, Super Fang, Pin Missile, Fire Punch, Thunder Punch, Ice Punch, Double-Edge, Thrash, Surf, Drill Peck, Counter, Seismic Toss, SolarBeam, Petal Dance, Thunder Wave, Psychic, Earthquake, Quick Attack, Waterfall, Explosion, Spore, Body Slam

*outclassed by moves in other gens (I gave up on these after gen 3)

As of now, Gen V looks the strongest in terms of set-up moves, but Gen IV has almost perfect coverage. Gen I has spore, so basically anything that evolves from a gen I pokemon gets spore (*cough* spore geomancy boomburst sylveon *cough*)
Gen III is probably the weakest, although they are still pretty strong with stuff like dragon dance, psycho boost, overheat (spinda hype), Water Spout, and Eruption.
Gen II gets BellySpeed (ursaring oh god).

Basically this is STABmons with even more broken stuff.
looks like mewstic will get plenty of good gen6 moves to use with prankster

Prankster Meowstic-M could do some work with Sticky Web, Parting Shot and Topsy-Turvy.

Tail Glow Latios could put in some work with Psycho Boost, Overheat, and Muddy Water, or can use Choice Specs to abuse Eruption and Water Spout.

Yanmega gets Aeroblast, Nasty Plot, Aura Sphere, Dark Void, Earth Power, and Seed Flare, and keeps Bug Buzz. Hello, premier Speed Boost sweeper!

Shell Smash, Quiver Dance, and Shift Gear are going to be ridiculous on so many things in 5th gen. Thank Arceus that Meowstic-M gets Topsy-Turvy now.

I believe that every team will need a Meowstic to survive, you could even use one to thrive with the many support options gen6 gives it. This meta will be all about taking out mewstic and then sweeping the opponent's team, I like it

Meowstic (M) @ Focus Sash / Leftovers
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Topsy-Turvy
- Parting Shot
- Sticky Web
- Spiky Shield / King's Shield

This will likely be the staple set for Meowstic-M. Too bad he doesn't get Taunt or Destiny Bond. :(

If we're looking at prankster Topsy-Turvy, klefki is probably better for bulk and typing. You can pursuit trap meowstic; good luck pursuit trapping klefki. It can also cover up its ground weakness with an air balloon.

MAMP

MAMP!
I've decided to quickban Sketch for obvious reasons.

Regarding other bans, I think I'll wait to see how the meta plays out before making any more decisions. The things I have my eye on as potentially broken are sleep (spore in particular), Shell Smash, Pixilate + Boomburst Sylveon, and Belly Drum + Espeed PoryZ/Ursaring.

EDIT: I guess I'll also show off some sets that I've used in the few games I've played of this meta.

Heatran @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Lava Plume
- Heal Order
- Defog

A nice utility tank, checks a lot of things. One of the few things that can take Sylveon's Boomburst repeatedly.

Ursaring @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Guts
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Extreme Speed
- Belly Drum
- Sacred Fire
- Crunch

A very dangerous sweeper, it has trouble finding opportunities to set up though. Also a good revenge killer.

Klefki @ Leftovers
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Bold Nature
- Parting Shot
- King's Shield
- Topsy-Turvy
- Moonblast

A great answer to all the dangerous set-up sweepers in the tier. Powder and Sticky Web are both good options too.

Swoobat @ Focus Sash/White Herb
Ability: Simple
EVs: 32 HP / 252 SpA / 224 Spe
Timid Nature
- Shell Smash
- Stored Power
- Secret Sword
- Blue Flare/Searing Shot

Doesn't appreciate priority, topsy-turvy or Aegislash but is still a threat.

You mean Secret Sword, right?

Dark Void and Heat Wave are not gen V moves :3
Choose different fillers :D

Even pendulums swing both ways
for.the record sylveon absolutely must be banned. otherwise the low risk high reward will make the metagame stale and uncompetitive to many people.

holy hell this thread is getting a lot of attention.

I think crobat will get a lot of use as a lead. It's the second fastest spore user (tied w/ aero and jolteon, first is electrode). It also can get spikes, and has reliable recovery.
Sample Set :D
Crobat @ Black Sludge
Ability: Infiltrator
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Spore
- Spikes
- Roost
- Brave Bird/Taunt
Pretty simple concept. Spore first, set up spikes. taunt when needed. roost when needed. BB to help beat the opposing pokemon.
Taunt is if you want more support. BB if otherwise

Roost and Brave Bird, and Taunt are 4th and 3rd gen, respectively. Recover works for healing, though. Sadly, Drill Peck is the best replacement for Brave Bird.
