You should come to San Diego Comic-Con either this year or next (whichever I end up going to, I went in '09 and had an amazing time) and we can cosplay together :O (My friends and I cosplayed once at a local comic convention and it actually was quite fun and our costumes were not horrendous)

yeeeaahhhhhhhhhhh, i was beginning to worry no one got the title joke.


OH MAN, san diego comic con is like the biggest reason i went to sakura con. i wanted to first see how i would like big time anime conventions before i made the trip down to san diego. i cant come this year so i hope you go next year[or both years], i am planning to go to 3 cons in 2012 and you know SD comic con is on the list.
i would also not mind cosplaying

I was really scared of my own level of nerdiness for a while until I stopped recognizing about half of the characters being cosplayed. Almost gave me a heart attack.

Standouts for me were:

Reptile

And hard gay but who isn't a fan honestly. I also don't mind the Yoko eye candy.

Plus that has got to be the best Red cosplayer I've ever seen. He got the pose just right.

But yeah, most of these are really great cosplays. It almost makes me want to go to a con.

does it ever make you sad that there aren't a lot of black characters in video games/anime so you can't really ever dress up at these cons? i would be.

I was full of self-loathing for recognizing more than 50% of these characters (even if I don't know 90% of their names). And then I thought stuff like "that Archer really needs a tan", and it only got worse. And then I recognized a character from Black Rock Shooter and I decided that I just didn't care anymore. It's not like anyone else on a competitive Pokemon forum would care if I'm a weeaboo.

My first thought given the hat and flowery skirt was White Rose from SaGa Frontier, but the dress color, shoes, and sock are wrong. So probably not.

But yeah, lots of great cosplay there.

this made me laugh so hard, on friday[the first day] i felt unmeasurably nerdy......then i also decided i dont care anymore :)

please, doesnt have to be anime[if you dont find a good black anime character you like in the first place]. there also the option of going as something that covers you up completely.
