Grades

So yeah, I just finished my first semester of college... It was ok, but the way I look at college now is: anyone who wants to succeed, will, they just have to work hard and be dedicated.

These are the classes I took and grades I have:

Math 180 (Calculus I) - A
English 161 (Academic Writing II: Writing for Inquiry & Research) - C
Chemistry 112 (General College Chemistry I) - B
French 200 (Introduction to the Study of French Literature & Culture) - B
Engineering 100 (Orientation) - A

Honors classes don't count for shit in college. The higher the number for the class, the harder the class is, so, I'm pretty much done with my prerequisites, I just need a couple of social studies classes later on. Technically the hardest class for me should have been French, but it was easier than English. The funny thing is that we were doing the same thing and I ended up doing better in French than in English. I was with a whole bunch of juniors in my French class (200 is a junior/sophomore level French course) so that was kinda strange.
I'm so pissed off though. My english teacher (and I said teacher, not professor because she does not have her doctorate) was a fucking cunt and was hard as hell. I took 1st year (freshman) second semester English my first semester cause I got credit for 1st year first semester English from my ACT score. I was able to skip, I'm done with English forever (yay!), but it's going to be a bitch bringing my GPA up (especially since the college of engineering does GPA differently than the entire univeristy here at UIC). So I need to kick butt next semester. I think I have a 3.0 for now, but... Argh!!!

8th grade :( We only had two finals so far...

Maths: 90/95 = A
Science: 81/82 = B+
Social Studies: 73/82 = B
English: 81/83 = B+
Turkish: 85/79= -A
German: 81 = B+
Religious Studies: 88 = A

geez people are smart here. I usually range from 4.0-4.4, but I think I might have a 4.5 this quarter, which would be nice but pointless since i'm a senior

I crush you all (all that I've read) I have a 4.2, on the 4.0 grading scale, weighted (Honors classes ftw) My non-weighted GPA is 4.1 somehow... I think I did well enough in my non-honors classes to surpase perfection. I'm gonna go get my ego checked. Bye bye

Edit-Just feel like adding this, in my school, 90 is a B, 93 and above is an A, which makes things considerably harder... and I haven't gotten a B yet :P

3.83...Sophmore in Highschool. Really doesn't mean a ton, 2 hard classes and 2 easy... College Prep Bio, English 10....Band...Team Sports lol.

4.0 this semester at Case Western Reserve University, easily my most difficult one so far. I am a Sophomore, prospective BME major with a Pre-Med affiliation.

Courses were:

1.) EBME 201- The physics of the Brain and basic physiology.
2.) BIOL 346- Human Anatomy
3.) STAT 312- Statistics for Engineers
4.) CHEM 223- Organic Chemistry
5.) USSY 214: Ethnicity- University Seminar on Ethnicity
6.) MATH 223- Vector Calculus

I've had a great realization this year that secondary schooling basically means shit in regards to your future and you could probably get straight D's your entire middle and high school careers and graduate from Harvard Law at the end of it all if you take the right paths.

I really don't hold much importance in my grades. My goal is just to pass with all D's, if I happen to get any better, sure why not. Actually gonna take college seriously though, because it is worth taking seriously.
