Grades

2 A's and 2 A-'s, giving me a 3.85 this semester and a 3.87 cumulative.

I was pissed about the one A-. There were 4 tests and the class convinced him into dropping the lowest grade. So going into the last test I had 2 A's and one A- on the tests, a surefire A. Douche bag gives me an A-. I think he docked me points on participation.

Junior in High School, currently have a cummulative 4.0, but I might lose that. Here are my percentages going into finals:
Trig: 103.3
Chem: 103.1
Band: 110.4
Spanish: 101.9
PE: 100
Composition: unknown, see below
U.S. History: 93.3, A is 94...

I had to get an A on my final exam for US to keep my 4.0. Alternately, if I get an B+ in Comp, I lose my 4.0 (had A first quarter, final exam was cancelled). My comp teacher left with a week left in school, but we had to do all of the writing assignments to pass the class. Two papers were handed in after my teacher left. I was at 98.4% in the class, but I got a 76/100 on a satirical essay because I used can't, it's, and doesn't a total of 16 times for a loss of 16 points (our teacher never counted off), and the rest because of a few grammer mistakes and the fact that the sub teacher that checked them didn't like me mentioning Barney, Michael Jackson, and nuclear bombs in my Dick Cheney satire paper.
The second paper was a creative paper that we were never taught how to do, so hopefully I'll do okay. I need at least 78/100 on that paper to keep an A.

my school doesn't convert to a 4.0 scale, but last friday was the 5-week point and my grades were:

ap spanish - 94
ap literature - 95
ap physics b - 100
ap calc ab - 95
economics - 76

yeah, economics is pretty gay!!

more like ap physics b is pretty gay how the fuck do you have a 100 in it o_O

i work harder in that class and do all the work and shit and actually pay attention probably more than every other class combined. ;(

the material isn't that bad it's just the tests and quizzes are so gay because the teacher just takes questions from old ap tests that suck. whenever he makes them up theyre easy.

anyway we don't really use the 4 point scale its just out of 100. I do pretty well overall, but this year (junior in high school), i've been slacking (except in ap physics which is my worst grade) just because school is gay.

why is everything so complicated in the states lol what happened to a percent out of 100?

Right now I am doing very well, to say the least.

Advanced Functions: 96
Computer Science: 97
Chemistry: 94
Music: 95
French: 92
English: 91 (this is like the highest humanly possible in English)
Religion: 91
Physics: 88

Since you only have to send in your six highest marks, I can dump the last two and send in about a 94% average :) I don't know how that compares to GPA but i hope its good :p I'm looking into american schools.

You dumb Americans with your weighted GPA for AP. I didn't get anything extra and the amount of AP classes we had available were laughable =(

I wish I could have taken some AP courses in high school, but my school didn't offer them. Eh, whatever.

Nowadays, this college senior is working on Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Accounting. With my Fall grade report from about a week ago, my undergraduate GPA is still a respectable 3.71 / 4.0, but my graduate GPA has started off at only a 3.5. (I get to work on my graduate program concurrently with my undergraduate program so I can get out a year early.) I have a notorious procrastination problem; otherwise I'd definitely be close--like 3.9ish close--to 4.0.

Junior in High School, first marking period grades [these grades aren't weighted by the IB scale, which would have increased all by 1.1x]:

IB English HL - 98
IB Italian SL - 93
IB Theory of Knowledge - 95
Health- Dunno number grade, but A (as if it matters)
IB History of the Americas HL - A (never received number grade)
IB Design Technology HL - A (never received number grade)
IB Math HL - 99 (rounded up from a 98.6, originally a 96.3 before scaling due to some low scores in class)
Music Keyboarding - A (never received number grade)

Was overly satisfied, as I was unsure in DT and History for an odd reason.

how is AP Physics B bad at all compared to C!

Jabba, why would you complain that you get A-s, at UT you just get a 4.0 or a 3.0 or a 2.0 or a 1.0 or a 0.0!! My GPA would be like a 3.75 instead of a 3.6 >:O

I'm fairly certain that I earned a 3.75 for my freshmen semester of college
(although I have one W from a horrible Calc class)

English 101H (Crit Analysis Fiction)- B
English 102H (Crit Analysis Non-fiction)- A
Philosophy: Ethics- A
Intro to Sociology- A++ (105%)

i'm glad :]

Here we use number/20 instead of letters or /100

First year of university (we have one less of school here plus I was a year younger than most classmates anyway), I have 14, 15 or 16 in all the classes I took, average grades I guess

I take honors english and took honors pre-algebra last year(yes, im in eighth grade) but decided not to do honors for math this year.

because I'm so distracted by smogon, i have 2.33 >_>

ive cut down on pokemon temporarily. So Im focusing on yugioh atm :)

My school grades gpa out of 5 and weighted out of 6, so I have a 5.54 weighted and like a 4.97 unweighted.

Out of 4, I have a 4.54 weighted and a 3.97 unweighted.

my school has a stupid way to calculate gpa. :/ but I should be number one with these grades

I'm only a freshman and and I'm in Pre IB so I have 4 weighted courses, and band makes it so I take 7 classes, instead of the eight, also giving me a higher gpa

I would much rather have that! The only upside to having +'s and -'s is that if you get a B you have a shot at getting a B+, which is a 3.3 instead of a 3.0. I don't like getting a 3.7 because i got a 93 instead of a 94.

Advanced Functions: 96

Do you have Functions one half of the year and Calculus the other? That's how my school works, lol. I don't do math though, I hate math class. I just do the competitions and stuff in our school.

Nice marks though, for sure. I'd like to think I could get marks like that, but honestly I've been half-assing school for so long that I have no idea what I'm capable of anymore.

English - A
Math - F
Science - B+
Reading - C
P.E - A+
WoodShop - A+

Kinda slow on math.

Here's a bad one... I had a 3.28 overall at the beginning of the year, and after this semester, it's dropped to a 2.90. Statics and physics was pure murder, considering how I never took physics in high school.

trust me when I say that AP is eminently worth it. There is nothing as nice as a bit of freedom in college, especially if you have to work.

i back this up whole heartedly, i finished 2 history, 2 english, 1 physics and 1 chemistry AP class and all i was required to take was a math assessment before i got all of the "required" classes taken care of. i find it kind of ironic that i am going to an art school though... i guess it really didn't matter all that much in the long run for me. unless i decide to pack it up and go to a uni for something other than art that is.

oh my GPA this quarter was a 3.79, its weird how some classes are retard easy while others you have to scramble desperately to keep the grades up. art takes a lot of time to do well so that might be what makes the nerves fry

Well all our lessons are out of 7 in college and I just got my mock results

English Lit: 5
Maths: 5
Geography: 5
Physics: 4
Chemisrty: 6
Japanese: 7

We now have a numerical grading system. Unfortunatley, I didn't get my grades for this marking period yet, so last marking period I got a 95.something. I didn't get lower than a "91" in any of my classes.

Which is obviously an overall "A."
