Has to be raining where you are. Not like you use Rain Dance, but the actual route needs to be raining. Best way is just to get a Rare Candy and fly to all the cities, there's almost always at least 1 city raining.

EDIT: And level 50, oops.

If it still works like in BW(2) then all daily events are reset when you start the game with another console or when you change the clock. How to solve that problem: Use only one console and wait until the day after tomorrow - they apparently did that so that the daily events cannot be abused but it still is annoying as hell, especially if you are into RNG.
I've always wondered, does the cartridge have an internal clock? That would explain how it detects a time desync.

Hello,

I hope this is the right area to post this. Many times where I tried unranked random matchups on the 3DS, I have a blast.....except when the preview screen has Ubers like Mewtwo, and the signature X/Y legendaries.

I mean, there really isn't anything I can do right? No in game restrictions in place.....I mean I can do random matchups with all ubers if I was obsessed with winning. Just don't think that is something Gamefreak could have ignored for yet another generation.

The only solution I can think of is having a Xerneas on my 6 so that when I have to choose 3 Pokemon, I can pick that as a just-in-case solution.

Its more likely that the save file has your time stored on it, so if you could manipulate the save file you could re-sync and unlock the events.

Unfortunately, that's how it is. Fortunately, many people who run Ubers mons in Wifi are competitive newbies. They either don't EV train, or their legendaries have meh IVs. I've destroyed a few teams filled with, for example, Xerneas, (Mega) Mewtwo, and Yveltal, with nothing but my Mega Mawile. Most people who do competitive battling seriously on Wifi don't include legendaries because they know sportsmanship. If they don't, well, they're assholes and you shouldn't get too worked up about it.

Simple Q: can you (rarely) get Hidden Abilities by breeding two Pokémon who don't have the Hidden Ability?

Related: can you (rarely) get Hidden Abilities by breeding one Pokémon with a Ditto, when the original Pokémon doesn't have the Hidden Ability?

Extra credit: if no to both of the above, then how do you get Hidden Abilities on Pokémon that aren't in Friend Safaris and don't come in hordes?

No, no, and you wait for Pokebank.
Rhetorical simple question: how exactly is Pokémon going to attract and keep new players if it primarily favors those who bought B/W? :/

Sorry, just tired of seeing "you're going to transfer all of your best mons from your B/W Pokebank like every other player, right?" as the answer to filling up dexes, finding hidden abilities, and having the best options (egg moves, etc.) for things like Battle Spot. It doesn't help matters that only long-term players are going to monopolize the market and ask outrageous prices when it comes to newer players seeking ways to fill up the dex or get Hidden Abilities.

Thanks for the speedy reply at least. Cheers :)

This has been the case with every single new release... it isn't anything new, yet Pokémon continues to grow.

Sure, but at least have some empathy for those of us who can't turn back time and dump a few hundred hours into the last several Pokémon titles. I'm certain a lot of us would if we could, but it seems like a raw deal for players hoping to return to the franchise. I imagine you don't envy the situation that newer players are in.

Edit: to ask another simple question: when Pokebank comes out, what exactly are newer players going to have to offer older players in exchange for access to Pokémon to fill up the dex and Pokémon with Hidden Abilities? I mean sure, I'm working on 4IV and 5IV Pokémon that are obtainable in Pokémon X/Y, but I imagine most older players have already gamed these mechanics at least as much as I have.

(If the answer is nothing, that is why I have an issue with this situation. All games have to balance catering to old players and new ones, but a game where new players can't possibly get anything to match up to old veterans has a problem. That's one reason I wouldn't mind seeing small microtransactions in a casual completionist game like Pokémon despite my opposition to them in most "pay to win" games)

There is something called trading, you know. Don't have a certain mon? Ask for one on the GTS or on the forums here.

I myself have never really got into breeding and such until 5th gen, even though I've started from way back in the RBY days. I didn't even play Dream world that much in 5th gen, making me miss a lot of good Dream World ability mons. So what did I do? I asked for whatever I didn't have, so I could get a start on breeding them for my own use.

And if you're worrying about breeding in this gen, it's so ridiculously easy that it shouldn't be an excuse.

Why are you angry at me? I'm not in any control over how the game works. I'm just giving you objective answers.

Eh? I'm not angry in the least, unless you didn't read the end of my post :P I'm being snarky with Game Freak's design choices. By contrast, I appreciate everyone's speedy and helpful responses.

If a Pokémon learns an egg move during breeding, and that egg move is overwritten by other moves for any reason, can the egg move be recovered at the move relearner?

Yes, as long as the pokemon was hatched with that egg move.

How do you "power up" O-powers? (Unlock levels 2 & 3)

You just use them a lot. Using them on other people works too, and is cheaper. You can also get your cooldown to be really fast--there's a number next to the clock that tells you the rate. I've had mine as high as 4 (and it is tied to your pedometer in your 3DS, which resets itself at midnight every night).

Level 2 unlocks pretty quick, but level 3 takes a while.

Have you never been on a trade board? People want little to nothing for a pokemon, so long as it's not shiny or doesn't have amazing IV's. Anyone that tries to "monopolize" will get stomped out by the hundreds of people giving them away for free.

Edit: Give it a few days, and you'll see Pokebank'd breeding rejects all over Wonder Trade.

How do you "power up" O-powers? (Unlock levels 2 & 3)

Level 2 = Use level 1 15 times
Level 3 = Use level 2 30 times

I don't know if you can use level 1 O-Powers to unlock Level 3 ones.
