have you ever lost any valuable possessions?

i'm actually here in the bahamas as we speak, and while the island itself is marvelous, it's just not the same without my wallet with $600 of cash/gift cards, ipod, ds, and new phone.

yes, that's easily over $1200 of shit i lost because of me forgetting my bag on the cab ride to the hotel. i don't expect to see any of this ever again, as the crime rate is high as ever and "honest cab driver" is pretty oxymoronic in itself. we'll see though!

now tell me, what have you all lost because of forgetfulness?

It would be pretty hard for you to find the taxi driver again... but try it anyway!, honest people could be found anywhere.

Ahem well on topic, i have lost a lot of games since the SNES era, to N64 by leaning them to fuckers that never give them back, this same thing has happened with books and other valuables :s.

As lost goes i lost my new PSP on my vacation in this year, i don't even know where i drop it. I have lost this same way a Game Boy color and a GB Advance on the past.

Once i was mugged and they even took my shoes :/, wallet and a backpack with some valuables as well.

Once when visiting family in Mexico City, I lost my cellphone in this places they call "Tiangis" or some shit like that, i left it on the counter of a small snack place. My cellphone had everything, from Pictures to girls numbers, but yeah, never saw it again.

I bought a couple kickass drumsticks that lit up in the dark on vacation, but left them at the hotel when we left.

While it's not from forgetfulness, over half of all of my N64 games mysteriously disappeared from my mom's house while my brother and I were at our dad's for the weekend. I highly doubt anyone robbed us, as the N64 games were the only things missing (random Gameboys, CD players, wallets, and other easy-to-carry valuable items were left untouched around the house), nor do I think we misplaced them (we searched the entire apartment multiple times). It wouldn't have been as bad if it hadn't been all the really good N64 games (I'm gonna miss Starfox, SSB, Bomberman 64, and Mischief Makers, to name a few).

I've lost a Gameboy Color when I left it inside my schoolbag and the schoolbag on the bus when I was in 5th grade. (It had Dragon Warrior III in it too). I've also lost a PS2 when my family moved, we have no idea where it went.

Well just recently, I went to the mall one day and one of my friends had the car door open when I locked the car, so we all thought it locked when he closed the door. I come back and someone stole my ds out of the glove compartment. It was the only thing missing and besides the fact that the door was unlocked and and umbrella that was in the car was under the car you would think I had just misplaced it.

Also got my GBA stolen straight out of my pocket at a mall one time. Nothing pissed me off more than that.

Thats about all the major stuff I can think of.

I lost the old Gameboy Color Super Mario Bros while I was on the last level during a move, pissed me off to no end.

Oh oh, I had a large glass jug full of coins (about ~$500 worth), and during the aforementioned move the glass jug went from full of coins to having two quarters in it. The movers said there was nothing in there to begin with (This move happened when I was around 7, great people still money from children).

Not sure if this counts as "lost" but my iPod got washed in the washing machine last month, but miraculously it lives again...

Good luck finding your crap :)

Hmm... Well, when I go on vacation and what not I am extremely careful with my stuff, as they never (ever) leave the hotel room... and I hide them. I'm also extremely possessive with my stuff and hate people touching them in the first place (DS / PSP, phone, ipod) so I'm very... 'protective'. To this date, I haven't lost anything expensive. Always keepin' a hawkeye on them in shifty places.

Though, when I was 7 I lost this really awesome toy of some dragon in a store. </2

Well, earlier in the year like around January I went with my dad to get a new winter coat, because I had lost the one I had last year or something, and this one I promised I would look after and that it would last through the whole winter. So I ended up getting some fancy North Face coat probably around $200 or $250.

Literally the very next day I had a swim meet, and because it didn't fit very well into my gym locker, I left my new coat with the rest of our team's stuff in the shower/changing room (this was at our pool), thinking it was safe since the visiting team had thier own changing room. What happened though, was that after the meet had finished, the visiting team walked through that changing room, and some bastard stole my brand new coat as he was walking through. So yeah, that sucked alot, and I had to pay for the new coat myself :/

I haven't really lost anything valuable but here's a funny story experience:

One night, my car got broken into and I had like new speakers and stereo system and everything.

They stole the change.

Seriously, they could've stolen like 800 bucks of sound shit yet they took my change tray. I mean it's not like I even had an alarm on that technical stuff. So they just broke into the car, didn't even damage it, and took change.

I lost wallet on the way to the airport.

This happened two weeks ago.

I was scared because I was sure I would have to wait until someone set me a new driver's license.

I was stuck with huge heavy luggage.

Luckily I was able to get through because I had to go through extra screening.

It wasn't so bad, there were just people who couldn't speak English. And me, without my wallet.

I lost some cash and my credit card.

But that's ok, because none of those things are as important as your loved ones, which I got to see after getting off the plane.

Hope this helps.

Edit: Fixed spelling/grammar issues

This is me, too.
Only things I've lost so far is someone stole a VMU (dreamcast memory card) from my locker in 7th grade, and someone stole my new mini backpack when I was at a theatre 4-5 years ago.

I also had a kid (well more like 21-22 aged) reset my sapphire cart (select-up-b) at JAA, then drop the game and run out into the rain because he got pissed I wouldn't trade him a really good Mewtwo.

same for me.

the only thing of any 'value' that i've lost is my gold version which some prick stole out of my bag during class time ._>

Oh I lost my passport in England. Though luckily I had a spare, I just had to charm my way into canada and back into NZ.

Have a nice day.

I haven't really lost anything important, but I did get my Ipod stolen once, it was the 1st Nano and it was a week after the release date so not many kids had them yet... I got it for my birthday and got it stolen when I was in baskebetball practice ( broke into all the players lockers ). Thats a close as I come to losing something important to me.... but my sister did lose her brand new cell phone a day after she got it LOL... she forgot it in Walmart XD

i havent technically lost anything, although i did forget my cell phone in japan. i know exactly which hotel its at, and remember the room it was in. so i had my japanese teacher call them up and she talked to them, and she said they were going to send it to our sister school in japan and have them send it back to us. this was about 4 months ago, and it hasnt come back yet, so im assuming that my japanese teacher was being a lazy ass and never even bothered to arrange anything she said she did. it sucks too, cuz i now have to gather up everyones phone numbers again, which is annoying.
also, im pretty sure someone jacked my wallet freshmen year of high school, which had 20 bucks and about 200 dollars worth of gift cards. i

same here, I've never lost anything other random minor stuff. I never let my ipod etc. out of my sight and I become really nervous if I give it to someone.

I've lost many things in my past, but most of them were minor things. Such as my Pokemon Ruby version and my cell phone. It hurt when I lose them, especially ruby, but I moved on. Nowadays, I'm like the rest of you guys, very protective of all my stuff, especially my ipod. It usually never leaves my side.

I'm absolutely terrible for this. I've lost about 15 phones (that is a modest figure, mind, I've probably lost a few more), 3 GBAs, 1 GBASP, 1 DS, and so much money it's untrue (last week alone I dropped thirty quid, never to be seen again)..

I lost 50 euros once when biking to a store. I found out I did when I was gonna pay for the stuff I bought, and I just went back on my bike and found it on the road.

Camera got stolen on an airport.

Electric shaver got stolen in a public bathroom on a camping (different vacation than above).

Lost plenty of bus cards through the past 7 years.

Left my old mp3player somewhere on vacation.

Left my plushie frog and turtle in the bus sometime when I was like seven. For some reason I had insisted bringing them somewhere where I didn't need them.

I never really lost anything because I don't normally let people touch my stuff but once someone stole some of my cards but got them back shortly after confronting the person.

one time this dude scammed me out of my pokemon blue which had my level 100 shellsoker blastoise. no lie, i was genuinely pissed.

uhhh when i played yugioh i lost my deck. this was back when chaos and stuff was cool so i had the envoys and junk.

lost some n64 gear a while back. well i forgot about it.

i haven't losst anything really otther than a bunch of stupid shit

One of the only things I ever lost (that's worth more than let's say 5 euros or was important to me(, was a doll I got when I was born. Even though I had two of them, I never even took the other one out afraid of losing it.
