Hereditary Conditions

Thanks god I took after my father's family. I will not lose hair until 50+, and they won't grey until 50+

hair loss is pretty much entirely dependent upon your mother's side of the family, from what i know (i could be wrong though)

Random toe-curling and body spasms. Luckily, the spasms aren't extreme, but they do occur at the weirdest of times.

brain haemorrhages are common in the women on my mother's side, although the childreb in her family has been predominantly female the last few generations so i don't know if it skips the males or not.

one day i was examining the symmetry of my face in the mirror (like you do) and noticed that one eyebrow arch was higher than the other, and my mother encouragingly pointed out that this was a symptom.

can't wait.

I mainly take after my mum in facial features, she also passed on her bad eyesight. I may get diabetes (thanks granddad). I have an enhanced immune system from my mum.

Mild case of psoriasis (sp?) from my mothers side. It's a skin irritation causing a few red bumps, but it's nothing too serious.

Comes at about spring time. Pollen season.

so many people have bad vision it can hardly be called a hereditary condition xd

the only thing i can think of that's really a "family history" is this weird thing where like some blood vessel bursts and you die like instantly ;/ both my grandfather and his father died of it, both were around 70, and also my great uncle had it too but he survived.

I occasionally have a sort of muscle spasm in my chest that is apparently indistinguishable from a heart attack, so if I ever have a real heart attack, I probably won't know.

Same here.

Also I have bad vision, though it's probably because I used to sleep with lights on because my dad worked very late into the night when I was young. And my usage of computers lol.

I have perfect vision, and we don't know where I got it, because everyone in my family that I'm related to by blood has glasses.

I have a good chance at becoming diabetic (the kind you can take pills for), having high cholesterol, and having high blood pressure... I also have astigmatism so my vision sucks.

It runs on my mother's side of the family to be very, very thin, until you hit thirty and you blow up like a balloon. (Thanks a lot MOM!!!!) I am about 5'8 and I am 5'8 fully clothed.

I really need to put on a few pounds, because my body looks loke a giant sized 8-year olds :(

And also the fact that I do not have the type of hair I want :(

It sucks being a light-skinned AfAm and still having the hair my ancestors had read:Very hard to do anything worthwhile with.

Bad eyesight from both parents (I currently have a contact prescription of -6.5 for both eyes), and I might be schizophrenic to a certain degree (no joke). I have a habit of hearing (mostly faint whisperings) and seeing things (like doors opening/closing when they really have no reason to) when I'm stressed out. My dad's side of the family's had those traits for several generations, but no one's really had it checked out.

I definitely want laser eye surgery when I'm older. :\

I have nothing yet, but heart disease and baldness has effected every male in my moms family from my grandpa down. Both my parents have also had diabetes. Looks like I'll be dead by 50.

You mean an anerism?

i have horrid eyesight thanks to my mother's side. i will also be going bald in 10 or so years, again thanks to my mother's side. my dad's side gave me really bad acne throughout high school but proactiv is a godsend. i also have mild insomnia but i don't think that is hereditary

Diabetes has been in my family from my father side. But i don't have it (yet?).

Out of that there is nothing really important, perhaps this horrible rough hair hehe.

Guilan:
You should ask your parents if they are hypochondriac.
Good question, but I think I already know they aren't.
My mother, whom the OCD shows up in more than I, refuses there is anything wrong with her and won't go to the doctor's for medicine. I doubt she worries about her health in that sense based on what I know about her.
My dad really doesn't care, he doesn't have the mental heredities I listed that I had and he used to weight over 250 pounds before he got cancer (he made it through).
I sure don't really care about what my health is either, I love eating donuts and pie because they simply exist. Chocolate milk and ice cream ftw!

No one in my family is hypochondriac, but it was worth the look for the definition, thank you.

I'm allergic to fish (oh noez horrible!) and I'm double jointed in my fingers and toes. It's cool being able to bend your fingers in about 4 positions more than the ordinary person, but there is really nothing that affects my life about it.

Same here.

I also have to eat a low fat/sodium diet because my mom's side of the family is so prone to high blood pressure and strokes, it's not even funny.
