Hobbies

What hobbies are you guys into? Rock collecting, card collecting, gardening, cooking, doing sports, etc?

Right now I trying to get into gardening and learning more about Psychology since I just joined the class with the new semester. So yeah... what about you guys~?

I'm into rock collecting, same as fossil collecting. Lately I've gotten back into model building a bit, I'm working on a German King Tiger tank and the treads were and absolute nightmare but I got them sorted.

I'm REALLY getting into stop motion animation, just watching what's out there.

Mainly playing music. That's pretty much all I do besides schoolwork and hanging out with friends. I also enjoy writing, reading (when it's a good book that I choose and not one I'm forced to read for school), and playing Xbox, although lately I haven't been doing much of the latter.

vidjo gams. I only have time for one hobby. School and work keep me too occupied to have more :( Watch a couple TV shows a week (One Piece, The Office, House, Scrubs, Heroes, Tales of the Abyss) and am now reading a weekly comic as well (Naruto).

I wish I had time to read more novels as I haven't read a book in years.

My hobbies are reading (just finished A Feast for Crows), soccer, drawing/painting, chess (not so much as of late due to lack of people wanting to play), Pokemon, Magic the Gathering, and my microbiology research! At the moment I am reading Watchmen, which has been taking up a lot of my time. Not enough time in the day to do everything, but at least I have options when I need it.

Right now I trying to get into gardening and learning more about Psychology...

Gardening is fun, saves a lot on the food bill and tastes a lot nicer than what you buy in the store. I also took a couple of psychology classes in undergrad and they were really interesting, my favorite was abnormal psychology. Which psychology are you in atm Haruka?

I used to collect Yugioh cards a lot, even though I had nobody to play with in real life. However, lack of a job and the current "crisis" in the game has caused me to stop doing so recently. I still plan on buying the videogames when they're released, however. I've been somewhat interested in playing the Pokemon and M:tG lately, but haven't actually done so yet. If anyone happens to know of a good online program for them (like how Yugioh has YVD) and feels like helping a noob start up, feel free to PM me. :P

I love reading as well. I used to visit the library a lot when I was younger, and when I had a job at a bookstore at the mall I would be reading all the time. Mostly I would read manga and fantasy books, but I also like mystery and sci-fi.

I have a good number of hobbies. The majority of my hobbies are relating to animals. I own lots of pets and enjoy them all. I have birds, geckos and lots of fish. I also do a large amount of research on pet foods. I hope to one day make my own pet foods so that I can have some pet foods out there that does not contain soy. (I also do a lot of research on the dangers of soy). I hope to make pet foods for cats and dogs, birds, small animals, fish and rodents such as rats and hamsters. So far I have made several dog food recopies that I hope to test out soon.

Other pet related hobbies are raising and breeding smaller pets (no dogs and cats). I have raised baby Budgies and Finches before as well as fish. I had a breeding pair of Jack Dempsey that spawned twice in my own tank but had their babies eaten by the tank mates. I gave the pair to my dad so that the two could try again in his tank. The two breed again and got the babies to be about an inch in size, then the dad ate them. It was very sad and unexpected. I later had a pair of Convict Cichlids that breed. Unfortunately the two bred a few weeks prior to us having to move and the babies were nit able to survive the move.

Some of my other hobbies are arts and craft related. I like to draw animals and Pokémon and such. I also like to sew and make costumes and stuffed animals and things like that. I also like to make little pictures that are kinda like quilted pictures, but with paper.

I do enjoy reading when I am interested in something. My favorite books are the Xanth Novels by Piers Anthony. The Xanth novels are a set of 32 books (and growing) that take place in a magical land filled with magical creatures, plants and puns. Very funny Books. I also like The Phantom of the Opera (the book) and a few other books here and there.

Last but not least, I like some video games. Pokémon will always be number one and I like to play the games and battle once in a while. Other games I like are Spore and Zoo Tycoon.

I do work a lot and enjoy my work and my co workers, so work is kinda like a hobby to me too. It makes the day go by faster.

Sex counts as a hobby right?

Anyway, I'd say soccer, baseball, animals, and alcohol. I wouldn't call poker a hobby since that's my job.

For now, Pokemon. Honestly, I've got nothing else. Don't like TV, hardly play games anymore (very surprising), and my personal life is in shambles right now. So all I have is good old Pokemon.

hurm. for a quick drunken post I summed myself up quite well. I do like old-school computer emulation though; the amiga will *always* be my favourite but I'm getting rather into the C64/Spectrum/DOS these days. No matter how pretty the games are now, they'll never beat the satisfaction of completing Beneath A Steel Sky.
I've started to get into reading comic books. Started with Watchmen (I spend a fair bit of time drawing Rorschach, too), moved onto Batman and the Punisher (thanks Hazerider). Erm.. politics are a given, natch - started to get more into feminist activism lately which is lovely, I'm also considering getting into anti-fascist organisations but we'll see about that one.. ehhh.. I do drink too much, though I've stayed off the drugs of late I think that's going to change soon. I don't have a job so I spend most of my time doing philosophy, politics and history in preparation for my exams this summer. Politics is my favourite. <3

I find it funny that she made a drunken post in the hobbies thread...a girl after my own heart. I find that drinking can make an adequate substitution for:

-excitement
-fun
-a personal life

Seriously, I love beer. I drink lots of it, and the expensive kinds that don't taste like piss.

I enjoy adding random and unnecessary asterisks and tildes to my writing.

I enjoy writing poetry, writing music reviews, reading, internetting around, doing the occasional gaming, and drinking. And occasionally I play guitar.

Smogon, go figure. And Pokemon, go figure.

Video games, I guess. (Sad, I know) Also my girlfriend. (Spending time with her, not her as the hobby herself. Get your mind out of the gutter)

Not much else, really.

Grammar correction and teaching are actually really fun, to me at least. Reading is fun, too, but the lack of great books lately is dragging me down.

I barely play and video games anymore except Pokemon, they're just too boring. Music is another hobby of mine, not much to say about that one.

For sports, I play Basketball, Soccer, do Swimming on a team, and some other stuff I'm not fond of. TV is okay, I guess.
