How do you kill this? Rhyperior Discussion.

Besides the facts that Gengar can't really ever switch in and that Rhyperior won't ever stay in on a Gengar that's actually in on it for whatever reason, for fear of WoW alone, why wouldn't you just use a Modest 394 SpA Energy Ball to OHKO it?

True. That's what makes it such a good counter for Rhyperior.

I'll be using Life Orb Sceptile to counter it. The Life Orb cancels out the effect of it's ability, so Energy Ball definitely OHKOs it.

yeah becuase sceptile is going to love switching in on earthquake/stone edge that despite resisting will still do a huge amount of damage, or even better why not switch into a megahorn it will get you ohko'd.

Sceptile dies to Megahorn, Stone Edge and Snow Slide and is actually 2HKOed by a CB Earthquake.

Anything faster with a special Grass or Water move can beat it after a sacrifice, that doesn't make them a real counter.

this thing doesn't seem to have any type one counters only type 2 counters simply because it just causes so much damage to just about anything

It seems as though Rhyperior will cause many, many sacrifices...without a clear counter you can switch in on, you're either sacrificing whoever you've got out, or whoever you plan on switching to. And because no one is dumb enough to leave Rhyperior in when you replace your sacrificed Pokemon with something like a Suicune, I see Rhyperior being a Pokemon that will linger around all game, annoying the hell out of opponents. Just bring him in and beat the hell out of the opponent, then switch him out and bring him in later for more beatings. Evil...I'm gonna hate this guy.

aside from the person that posted the RStalk rock cannon and giga attack has anyone really considered rhyperior as a sleep talker
with theses beastly physical stats i was thinking around 401 hp 350 or so attack and rest in defence to make a physical wall wud be a real bitch to kill on the physical end

Looks like the "Rhyperior era" is beggining, when everybody worries about it, this gen we've had worries about...

1st Lucario
2nd Garchomp
3rd Azelf
4th Infernape

And then other overrated Pokemon like Spiritomb, Gyarados, Tyranitar, Metagross, Salamence and Dragonite, even b4 D/P was released xD

Other examples of overrated Pokemon this gen:
-Arcanine (everybody was excited because of Fire physical stats, i even remember a comment like: "now it can use its uber stats!" LOL)
-Any high attack Poke with 3 Elemental Fangs
-Roserade looked like the best Grass sweeper, now is rarely seen here in RMT threads, but it'

I see Spiritomb being overlooked slightly with Dusknoir around, but that's just me. As for the rest of those pokemon you listed... just look at a few RMT threads and count how many are swept easily by them.

People need to worry less about switching things into Rhyperior and more preventing Rhyperior from getting on to the field safely. Rhyperior has too much attack power to approach it from the usual perspective.

UuBeR wtf (how you call to a poke that tookes physical hits better then SkArM and dishes them back stronger then Mencegrosse's).

I'd love to see some calc's for levitating Bronzong if anybody has the time.. Neutral MH is the best Rhy can do and he has some nice defense going for him.

We see things differently. You sacrificed your Pokemon to just deal some damage to my Rhyperior. That, to me, is of great benefit to me and not you. The mere fact that you need to sacrifice a Pokemon means that with hardly any prediction at all Rhyperior's killed something. All it takes is a Somersault Jirachi or some other Wishpasser on the team to ready Rhyperior for another killing.

And yeah, you could plan a team where Rhyperior doesn't have a ball, but the main things it doesn't like are STAB special grass / water moves, and at most you could manage with two waters and maybe one grass, and they all still don't like taking Rhyperior's attacks.

And yay, you can hit Rhyperior on switch-ins. It can come in on most any physical hit and take shit for damage and then beat the hell out of your switch-in. Having a Somersault / Wish / (Reflect / Light Screen) / Reminiscant Headbutt Jirachi only makes the situation worse for the opponent, because it makes Rhyperior take even less damage and allows for safe healing.

It seems to me as if other people don't quite see the threat this thing is. Jumpman's in agreement with me, Rhyperior is damn scary to take on.
Then you kill the wish support before it can pass to Ryhyperion. This isn't rovket science people.

Jirachi is incredibly hard to kill given the right EVs, especially with Reflect.

A lot of Wish passers work well with Rhyperior. Togekiss works great, as does Blissey. To varying degrees Leafeon and Vaporeon work too.

Out of those, Togekiss is probably the best Wish passer to team up with Rhyperior. Good special defense, access to Grass Rope to take on Water types, Air Slash for Grass types, Thunder Wave support, Rock and Electric weaknesses for Rhyperior to switch in on.

And then other overrated Pokemon like Spiritomb, Gyarados, Tyranitar, Metagross, Salamence and Dragonite, even b4 D/P was released xD

Except the fact that ttar is arguably still the best pokemon in the game and gyarados has run through 90% of the teams posted here.Add the fact that nothing can really safely switch into AGMence. No one has even really discussed Metagross and i think i am the only one to put dragonite in a rmt.

I was thinking the other day of a Rock Polish set, bump it up to 196 speed and it outspeeds everything save Jolteon and Aerodactyl (and AScarf but that's kind of dumb) after a Rock Polish. It'd work kind of like Agiligross, doesn't have Explosion but Earthquake/Stone Edge/Crunch hurts a ton of stuff

I have a problem with Swords Dance on Rhyperior. When will you SD anyway? You Swords Dance, expecting a switch. A bulky water or grass rope user comes in, it's faster than you are if it's not called Slowbro and OHKOs you if you dont switch. Sounds like a waste to me. Unless the whole team has been paralyzed beforehand.

uuhhh am i the only one here who finds the Restalk/[hyper beams] set to be absolutely off the chain? i mean this thing basically fits the mold perfectly as a restalker, especially with an ability to die for...
