How To Get Rich Quick

I suggest the stock market. SEFE - They've (almost) patented atmospheric electricity. Invest wisely, friends. Or, come with me, back to the garden of eden, where our money (goods mostly used to trade with) is cannabis bud and seeds and we'll all be richer than our wildest dreams.

Now let's each share an idea on getting rich, SEFE's mine.

I came in this thread to check it out, then logged in to close it, but, and despite your previous threads/posts, i decided not go through with closing this thread.

below is the reason why

if only because i can see this leading to a very interesting place, i dont even know why. also its not a bad question to ask i suppose

Where's that webcomic of a stock broker talking about waffles and everyone else invests in waffles?

That's my idea :P

I made $60 from the NYSE in my first interaction but that's not enough. I need more! There's a lot of risk in the stock market though

It's actually a Family Guy joke

This thread is just another example of how this society places a constant emphasis on trying to obtain things we want whilst doing the minimum amount of work. It's really depressing to see so many people wasting their lives in pursuit of "magic", a way to get the perfect body without working out, a way to get rich without effort at a job, a way to obtain things without earning them.

-There is no guaranteed way to "get rich quick". Stop spending tons on lottery tickets and pyramid schemes, go get a job and work hard.

-There is no way to get in shape without exercising. Stop watching Dr Oz every day in the hopes of finding the next trendy "fat-burner" pill. It doesn't and never will exist.

It sickens me how much this country emphasizes laziness. It's like Wall-E is happening right before my eyes...

Quoted for truth. Unless you're lucky enough to be born into a wealthy family, you gotta do all the work yourself.

These things won't make you rich, but are great ways that anyone can pick up some extra scratch:

- Start a small, simple service that would be in high demand for the people in your area. For example, my RA runs his own one-man taxi service, using his car to drive people around town. For $10, he can take someone to the airport. A regular taxi around here charges $3/mile, so the 10 miles it takes to get to the airport for anyone wanting to go home for winter break will be $30. Last week, he made over $300. Pretty good I say.

- You can invest in the stock market, but you have to invest in the right things. With a fluctuating market, it's hard to pick without having a good tip, but you can usually find stuff out with some online searching. Whatever you do, just don't invest in the Dow. That thing is way too erratic and unpredictable.

- Make a series of YouTube videos that people will want to watch. The standards for entertainment are decidedly low, so it can't be too hard to eventually become a hit. If it's popular enough, you can actually make a bit of money from your account when the site starts putting ads on the video. It's not much, but some money is better than none. Hey, if you're super lucky, you could get discovered and put on TV like Fred or those assholes that made Annoying Orange.

- If all else fails, become a manwhore or prostitute. The money's not bad if you don't mind the generally seedy nature of the business and risk of STDs.

while i agree with you that pursuing these "magical" things are a waste of time, note that "minimum amount of work" doesn't exactly equate to being lazy.

For example, say I'm running an online dropshipping business. (ie. id be the middleman that connect customer with supplier), and after running it for 2 months, I came across a way to automate most, if not, the entire system of linking customers with suppliers; would that make me "lazy"? Of course not. Even though I'd be working less hard than I was the first two months and investing a lot less time into the process, I'd be working more efficiently (smartly).

Of course, "working hard" in the context you used it may have covered the type of work I described in my example, but I'm not 100% sure about that so I'm posting this in a "just saying" tone.

A better title for this thread would be "what are some interesting ways to make money" or something along those lines.

Perhaps I misphrased. I probably should have said "no work at all" rather than "minimum", because in business minimizing work is all part of efficiency, which is a good goal. What I was attacking was not people's drive to streamline and make things as efficient as possible, I was attacking the notion that you can achieve anything worthwhile without SOME kind of effort or sacrifice. The world doesn't work that way and people need to stop sitting around hoping that it eventually will.

This isn't such a great idea, honestly. I've heard from a pretty popular gamer (ImAnderZEL, just under 100k subscribers at the moment) that even though he can't give official numbers or anything, he makes just about/less than a standard worker at McDonalds. You probably could live paycheck to paycheck working as a full time commentator/entertainer/producer, but the chances of you reaching that goal are quite low, you'd probably have to get a job to support yourself while you are a 'hidden gem', and when you do reach a point where 'hey, the monthly paycheck I'm getting from my YT channel(s) are able to support me", the job you currently have probably supports you better.

I don't claim to be an expert, but I need to stress: Do not start putting up videos with the sole thought of making money and living off of it. the YouTube community, from what I've seen of it, quite dislikes 'money whores', and you'll suddenly find your audience, well, smaller or completely gone. Only do it if you enjoy doing it, and if you have the ability to support yourself, should the YouTube idea not work out for you.

Start a successful competitive pokemon website. In 7 years you'll be making 60k+ per year and you won't have to lift a finger as part of its maintenance or operation!

My bad, I should have made it clear that this is an idea for some cash on the side, not something one would intend to make a living off of. You definitely need a real job outside of this. Even without what you said I assumed the payout wasn't that big anyway (although I didn't expect less than a standard McDonald's worker...wow)
