Ideas You Had

a terraria style 2d fighting game, but your character can only jump a realistic height, and the combat is set on designing boss arenas that give you an advantage using a limited amount of money. Think Ultimate Chicken Horse x Terraria

A video game with a rooftop area where the devs don’t want the player to jump off but instead of adding a fence or an invisible wall they instead have a trigger that makes an NPC beg you to not jump before lecturing you about the value of your own life like how Mr. Resetti lectures you about the value of your save data if you turn off the console without saving.

A voice synthesizer that uses a cat as its voice bank, so we could understand what they'd sound like if they could talk

Breath of the Wild had that. There was a bridge (I forget which one) where if Link gets close to the edge an NPC will approach him and tell him not to jump.
