In-Game Tier List Discussion

Oh, how surprisingly circumstantial. How are they registered in the pokedex then? Don't you have to wait until you get the National Dex?

Zorua is Unova's regional dex, and a lady shows you a picture of it, kinda like Manaphy in Platinum, or Dialga in Pearl. :3 That way you can GTS it as soon as you arrive Castelia, before the third gym.

As for using Zorua/Zoroak ingame, if we're tiering it I'd probably put it Mid. It's below Sandile or Scrafty, but since it's a mascot it has pretty good TM range and the CPU falls for Illusion a fair bit (which helps its survivability).

How far into the game can you transfer Celebi to get the Zorua?

And can someone give me the reasons why Washibon is bottom tier? I was really hoping to use him...

Actually I think he is referring to Celebi/Raikou/Entei/Suicune, in which case you simply can't access their dex entry until National Dex.

Also uh, Washibon is bottom tier since it comes late, at LV 35-40, and requires a lot of training when you are better off with Kenhorou or god forbid, Emonga for a flying type.

Flying types don't really have any advantage in E4 anyway since all of Renbu's Pokemon carry Stone Miss.

Swanna can actually manage. None of his team could OHKO my Swanna after a Featherdance, and between a second featherdance, Roost, and missing, it eventually took a Crit from Roopushin to take down my Swanna.

When I saw that last part I get reminded of being denied a sweep of Giima's team by Dokketosu. FUCK YOU AERIAL ACE CRITICAL

Well, first of all, you can catch a Level 70 Volcarona. Second of all, Larvesta is a total pain in the butt to train. It hatches from an egg, so you have to raise it a ridiculous 58 levels before it evolves, made even harder by the fact that it learns moves very slowly by level up (Nitro Charge at 30 and Bug Bite at 40). Its SpAtk sucks (as well as every other stat except Attack), so teaching it Fire Blast won't even help much.

There's a reason why he's even lower than Monozu. You have to backtrack ALL the way back to Karakusa, Surf your way to Route 18, then go to some house, and get that damn egg. Considering that this entire part is optional, you don't lose much than going straight from Fukiyose(which is where IIRC you get Surf/Fly).

Once you get your Meraruba egg, you'd have to walk over 10,000 steps to hatch that piece of crap. If you actually walk ALL the way from Route 18 to Sekka, you MAY be able to hatch that THING, but what can you do? The gym leader there MAY be Ice, but your fucking Meraruba is only Level fucking 1 with a move that runs off 50 SpA and String Shot. And Hachiku is ridiculously easy anyway if you went to get Cobalon, who's STABbed moves completely rape him.

Monozu is at least better since he comes at a workable level, thus even though he's a pain to train, he's NOT that bad than Meraruba, who comes at level 1 and only serves to sap EXP away from your party.

Also, the fact that you can catch a LV 70 Ulgamoth(derp, its just the room that mr. Sage was facing when you arrest him) completely seals Meraruba's fate to being bottom of bottom. I'd bet Monozu would be lower than him if we could actually catch a LV 70 Hydragon, but I digress.

Kojondo is love. He comes very late (before 7th gym and at level ~34), but if you have enough patience to level it up, it becomes love. Even without evolving it has enough power to brute force through everything with jump kick, rock slide, and drain punch.

love this enthusiasm!

can anyone recommend a special attacker for use in sazandora's slot in my team?

I like to have a permanent flier (hence braviary), but if said special attacker learns fly then i would drop braviary for darmanitan if that would be recommended.

As with competitive teams, I try not to have any 3x weaks to any type, which is what is giving me the issue.

Why is Sigilyph so high on the in-game tier list?

What physical attacker would u recommend to replace braviary? (cant be a fire due to rock weakness)

Because of Magic Guard, decent Speed and SpA, Cosmic Power/Assist Power, Fly, Roost, all of that. It's a good Pokemon.

As for physical attackers; Gigalith? Throh/Sawk? Crustle? Scrafty? Carracosta? Garbodor? Cinccino? Sawsbuck? Escavalier? Ferrothorn? Klinklang? Haxorus? Mienshao? Druddigon? Golurk? Bisharp? Bouffalant? Durant? Cobalion/Terrakion?

You got tons o' options, kiddo

because it doesn't need to evolve, got a good ability and very good lvl up move pool, it also comes pretty early in the game and its base stats are OK.
IMO it would be the best choice for you if you want to replace Sazandora.

For a physical attacker i would recommend Ononokusu he got a good move pool and is easy to lvl up and evolve

Will swap Warubiaru for Doryuuzu to remove the ice weakness and then take your advice and Ononokusu. Thanks everybody.

Why is Shimama so low? It only takes a couple levels from when you catch it to learn Shock Wave, and it learns Nitro Charge soon after. This is basically all you need til you run into Thunder, Thunderbolt, and Wild Charge. It's also cute.

Also, Yooteril should totally be top tier. Early, Pickup is good, normal has great coverage early on, evolves early, Intimidate is fuckin a, 100 base attack at the end is pretty good, gets elemental fangs, and it's cute.

The thing with Shimama is that it's one of the bulkiest guys around with its Carvanha defenses. Seriously, it's fast, cool, and somewhat strong, but dies to a paper touch.

The puppy also becomes somewhat meh lategame, but it's definitely got enough raw power to go through the entire game.
@Thunderstone, you might wanna try out my favorite poke, Chandelure. I guarantee it will not let you down. :3 It's rather frail, but hits ridiculously hard.

The puppu?
You mean the alien-looking mon?
I even forgot he existed....

They're adjacent on every keyboard. :p

But I know they show a picture of Zorua, I was more curious how the game handles getting a Celebi and the beast trio into the pokedex before the E4 is all.

Still gonna try that Serperior only playthrough Kiwi?

Hmm, I should try a Sigilyph next playthrough!

As soon as I get my white working on that damn R4, I'm so gonna try that solo run. I'll just hack a mew to use as a HM Slave and good to go. :3! I really don't want to restart my Black Version...for the third time this week, lol.
