Strength is only used to obtain items or legendary pokemon. Or the level 50 Musharna.
edit: I'm pretty sure I never used Strength in the VR.

edit2: restarted my game because I got bored REALLY fast this time. I guess I'm better off using only pokes I really like and not random crap. -_- Soft restting for a shiny snivy, I'm so gonna post a screenshot in 5 months when I get it. Wish me luck guys. And the cute doggy was a monumental disappointment for me. D:

KokoaKiwi- Emboar was bulky enough for me to just use powerful moves like flamethrower, hammer arm, wild charge and boiling water. When he learns flamethower, u don't need nitro charge. He just takes hits like a man then retaliates.

Serperior has the benefit of having a really cool shiny sprite, even if it isn't that different from the base one. But I do prefer it slightly...

My team in White ultimately was Serperior, Haxorus, Krookodile, Darmanitan/Vulcarona for the new E4, for the most part. I'm going to choose Oshawott when I get Black in America and try Scrafty, Reuniclus and probably a Shandelure. Might use Haxorus again. I should trade starters from White though and use all three.

For Cut in the beginning you don't even need Patrat. Use the elemental monkey that the girl gives you, since all are compatible with Cut.

I'm surprised how much Game Freak derped the necessity of HMs here.

Oh well, I finally got Head Smash on my Enbuoh, but seeing as the majority of Pokemon post-E4 are pretty much, LV.60+ stage 1 stuff, >_>.

Yea, but most people want to use the monkey in their playthrough so they give cut to another pokemon which they won't be using

I'm quite sure we had people bashing the monkeys in this topic as well. >_> Plus Cut is still an excellent earlygame move, with 10 more BP in exchange for 5 accuracy, so the monkeys definitely can make room for Cut.

Or, you can just catch a Dark-type feline on Route 2, dump Cut on it, do the event in the abandoned Lot, and then dump it in the box.

yep. that is possible too. Just use cut on something you're not gonna use, otherwise, you;re stuck with it until the 5 gym or so.

In a game where you have to do multiple battle without healing,I doubt taking hits and THEN killing is good....for in-game anyway.

Assuming I have both the event Celebi or the legendary dogs, how viable is zorua/zoroark in game?

Also, Waruvial > Excadrill in game? and in general without sandstorm up?

I would say so. I've played through with both Waruvial and Excadrill as my ground type and secondary Dark STAB is a blessing. Just don't make the mistake I did in replacing Crunch for Trickery. The attack of the in-game pokemon don't justify the 15 higher base points. In every battle after I replaced it I was wishing that I had Crunch instead. Moxie is also a much better ability in-game than Sand Paddle or Sand Power

Can you explain how Crunch is better than Trickery? Is the chance of lowering Defense that important, or is there something about Trickery I don't understand? I figured when choosing between base 80 and base 95, the latter would be the immediate choice...

IIRC,Trickery used the opponent's Attack stat against them.
I.E. Salamence's max attack is 405. If you use Trickery,it's as if you hit Mence with a 95 BP move from his 405 Attack....correct me if I'm wrong >.>

Trickery doesn't use the user's Attack stat to calculate damage. It uses the foe's Attack stat.

Also, I think Trickery is now known as Foul Play.

edit: ninja'd

Ah, now that would make sense. None of the translations of the move description that I've found say that (though obviously it's possible I've missed an accurate one). Thanks.

Edit: Okay, I just did a quick check on Veekun, and their description is definitely different from the one I read when I first looked up Trickery. :P

Technically aren't you unable to get Zorua until after the E4 since you can't transfer from DPPt until then?

Generally speaking, yes. However, there is a mechanism to transfer Raikou, Suicune, Entei, or Celebi (and only them) prior to the E4 to activate the events.

Oh, how surprisingly circumstantial. How are they registered in the pokedex then? Don't you have to wait until you get the National Dex?
