In-Game Tier List Discussion

But if lateness was the big factor, why are Kojofu, Druggidon, and a few others higher than it?
I mean I think we could at least agree it's better than, say, Pidove or Patrat.
I'll agree that second part, but Druggidon has good stats, speed isn't really a factor for a dragon in an ingame with 3 ice types and one other dragon.
Mienshao is really strong and fast.

With White coming out in Australia soon, I have decided to use almost every pokemon i see as I play through the game (but not do an N run). There's just too many to choose from

Ground/Electric isn't really accomplishing anything by the 7th gym, its not even available for Skyla(lol, doesn't Swanna carry Bubblebeam anyway).

Kojofu has a useful Regenerator skill to go with U-Turn, and Bug/Fighting coverage is relatively good ingame. Pidove is usable, the only reason why its so low is because 99% of its movepool runs off a shit SpA. Druggidon(I believe you guys are referring to Cream Gun, no?) is also usable, its only outclassed by Axew/Haxorus.

(i'm just wondering why am I arguing that Axew is awesome and Sigilyph sucks when both have almost the same rarity >_>)

Watchog is a useful HM slave, so it deserves its highish ranking, though if you actually used it, those support moves might be useful... Stunfisk is pretty cool with Water+Ground+Electric. The Speed hurts it, but it is actually desreving of Lower Mid.

If anything is good at HM slavery, its Stoutland.

And IIRC Watchog isn't up there for HMs, its because it actually annoys shit to no end earlygame(Hypnosis, Crunch AND Super Fang at Level 25? wth)

I've said it before, and I'll say it again.

Ability to use HM's should have absolutly no effect on teiring in B/W. The only times you are required, by plot, to use a HM is Cut, right at the start, which you could just catch a Choroneko to use, it's not like it's any use anyway. The other time is Surf, to get to one of the Sages.

I'm unsure if Strength is needed for the Sage @ Dream Lot, but I don't think so.

I do find it hilarious that the normal types on Route 1 and Route 2 completely outclass the cat even as a dark-type attacker.

By the time Purrloin gets Persuit [Lv 15, BTW], the normal-types have Bite, and Patrat is 1 level from Crunch.

If, for some bizzare reason you're still using Liepard at Lv 31, you get Assurance... which is STILL outclassed by Patrat, and the dog outclasses it too bith Bite, due to far better attacking stats.

You know what? A pokemon which is nigh-impossible to train even against the other derps [STAB Base 50 Tackle v No STAB Base 40 Scratch :/], and OUTCLASSED, even when considering his own STAB, by them, dosen't even deserve being in the lowest teir that exists.

Purrloin is COMPLETELY useless, to a degree far beyond anything else in the game. It deserves it's own teir, frankly... or at least, being at the bottom of the bottom, not the top of the bottom. Name that teir whatever. Purrloin's usefulness is superior to... a Feebas or Magikarp holding an Everstone... and maybe Sunkern, who decided to stay as Sunkern.

It's outclassed from the word go. It remains outclassed for the entire rest of the game. Not even slightly outclassed, but TOTALLY.

In regards to Vanilluxe, a hindering factor towards him is certainly the low exp rate. I'm actually surprised few people considered it so far, because it definitely is a huge factor in-game.

Now, if half the Pokédex had 1,250,000 exp rate like in the past, I'd agree we can skip this consideration, but in B/W this is not the case. If I'm not mistaken, the only low exp rate mons in the game besides legendaries are:
Vanilluxe
Haxorus
Braviary
Mandibuzz
Hydreigon
Volcarona

Now, while some of them have verry good stats to offset this disadvantage (notably Haxorus), there's little reason for why you would use one of them over many of the good stuff available (besides your personal taste I guess). For example, there's little reason for why you would choose Vanilluxe over Bearctic, who not only has still good offenses, but also evolves faster (and has more favourable exp rate).

Bearctic can learn Rock Slide (Mistralton Cave) and Shadow Claw (Celestial Tower) via TM, compared to Vanilluxe who get... what, Flash Cannon?

Icicle Drop is more reliable than Blizzard, both in power and PP(important); his coverage moves are way better than Vaniluxe, his exp curve is better. I don't really see anything Vaniluxe has over the bear.

Vaniluxe has Acid Armor and Mirror Coat. combined with an acceptable bulk, it can be quite annoying with it.

I used Ice Beam/Flash Cannon/Mirror Coat/Acid Armor. Surprisingly good.

Does Aaken have Rock Throw when you revive it? Also do you get it b4 or after the 4th gym? I'm asking because i plan on using him and i'd love to Rock Throw away these Emongas. Also, based on your experience, how frustrating is it to cath Dageki on White (Serebii says 5% rarity)?

Thanx in advance!

Vanilluxe is a lot cooler than a frozen Ursaring.
But Vanilluxe is always found at the Cold Storage, and Beartic is only found in winter and the pre evo is only found in Twist Mountain, which is later than Vanilluxe. Unless you grind the Beartic somewhere, your Vanilluxe will already be ready at that point, or should be.
Vanilluxe may have a slower XP rate but I think it's more convenient to grab it cause it's the best ice type you can get.

You can change the weather to winter p.easily, and iirc there's some double grass somewhere where you can pick up Cubchoo earlier.

Route 7 but only in Winter, and considering the levels aren't that far off from the ones in the cave, it's still probably further down the line than Vanilluxe.

Also I don't count changing seasons as fair play.

Rather annoying. It's a 5% encounter rate in SHAKEING grass. Bearing in mind, even if you use the trick and run around outside of the grass to make a shakeing patch spawn, an encounter on the way to the shakeing atch could easily mess it up.

That's what repels are for though ^^ But yeah, 5% is way too low, and Nageki seems like a fine alternative.

What about Aaken? When do you get the fossil?

Samurwott/Archaeops/Stoutland/Sawk/Darmanitan/Galvantula

and

Emboar/Mienshao/Sigilyph/Excadrill/Hydreigon/Abagoora

will be my in-game teams. Any suggestions (aside from me using Abagoora's Jap name)?

First team's very good IMO. However second team...

Hydregion is pain bad, you will be lucky to have the mid-form by the elite 4. If you want a dragon, axew is a lot better, but still not amazing.
Also, Meinshao comes late, maybe consider scrafty?
(I asume you want two completely different teams)

^ I agree. I used Monozu on my first playthrough and I had a hard time just evolving it to the second stage. And don't forget, you get Monozu very VERY late. At that point, there are almost no trainers left to fight with so you have to rely on wild pokemon encounters.

I was lucky I hadn't done one of the optional sea routes and had a few rare candies to finally evolve it but it still didn't do brilliantly in the E4.

What makes Bisharp ranked so low?
Medium Fast xp gain, Faint Attack for Double Team-ers, Metal Claw, Slash, Night Slash, Embargo is actually really helpful in the E4. It's good towards the end of the game and to finish off battles, and it's got some natural bulk and a good ability in Competitive Spirit. It also 4x resists dark, where a lot of pokes have access to dark type moves.
